Australia&lt;/strong&gt; magazine and inside, an article on the winner's practice.&lt;br /&gt;One of the 2012 winners will have a work acquired for the Art &amp;amp; Australia Collection. Also from this year, each of the award recipients will be offered a complimentary full-page advertisement in Art &amp;amp; Australia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Closing date: &lt;strong&gt;1 March 2012&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Notification: Two months following the closing date&lt;br /&gt;Applications must submitted online by the above due date. So plan your visit accordingly!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The NAS Library will be:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;CLOSED&lt;/span&gt;: Thursday 26 January, Australia Day&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;CLOSED FOR LUNCH&lt;/span&gt; 12 noon – 1pm : Friday 27 January, Friday 3 February &amp;amp; Friday 10 February, and&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;CLOSED&lt;/span&gt;: Monday 13 February 2012. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;Otherwise opening hours remain 10am - 4pm Monday - Friday until 24 Feb. &lt;br /&gt;During this scheduled maintenance, users will be able to search, browse, and access and download PDF files for content in JSTOR. They will not be able to save citations, reset passwords, create or update MyJSTOR accounts, or purchase articles."&lt;/em&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;Given that this is happening in the US, it means that availability will be limited here on the weekend of September 10 &amp; 11. &lt;br /&gt;The Kings Cross Photography Prize is an exciting project run by the Kings Cross Arts Guild. This is its second year of exhibition. Last year’s Competition was titled Images of the Cross. The Guild has a history of supporting artists in particular local artists. This year photographer/curator Sandy Edwards of ARTHERE is Guest Curator.

&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;In instituting this annual prize, the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation wishes to encourage excellence in drawing and draughtsmanship.
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Value: $25 000 (acquisitive)
&lt;br /&gt;Medium: Unique work on paper or other suitable support in any medium or combination of media. This includes those media and materials traditionally associated with the practice of drawing (pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, etc.) and those which are part of contemporary drawing practice, including pastel, watercolour, collage etc.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Other information: Applicants must have been born in Australia or hold Australian citizenship, and have been a resident in Australia for a period of 12 months prior to the closing date. Works are to be completed during the 12 months preceding the closing date.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Application forms for 2011 will be available for download soon.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;A complete list of conditions are included in the application forms.
&lt;br /&gt;Entries for the 2011 Dobell Prize will be received between Wednesday 23 November and Friday 25 November.

The Mitchell Library, bookshop, cafe and exhibition galleries will remain open during this time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The ‘new look’ State Reference Library will reopen on Monday 19 September. There’ll be dedicated study rooms, more informal work spaces and more computers. The new layout will also offer easier access to services and collections.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In 2012 renovations will continue in the Macquarie Street foyer, with a new bookshop, cafe and enhanced theatre-style auditorium.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The renovation work will be conducted in three stages:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stage 1&lt;br /&gt;29 June – 31 July&lt;br /&gt;Work commences on Lower Ground 2, State Reference Library. This National Prize is now in its eigth year and will be held at MENZIES ART BRANDS Gallery, 12 Todman Ave Kensington, Sydney N.S.W.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The PADDINGTON ART PRIZE was established by Marlene Antico in 2004. This $20,000 acquisitive prize is awarded annually for a painting inspired by the Australian landscape.&lt;br /&gt;An exciting addition to the Australian Arts calendar, the PADDINGTON ART PRIZE takes its place among the country's most lucrative and highly coveted painting prizes.&lt;br /&gt;The prize encourages the interpretation of the landscape as a significant contemporary genre, its long tradition in Australian painting as a key contributor to our national ethos, and is a positive initiative in private patronage of the arts in Australia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This NATIONAL ART PRIZE is open to Australian citizens and residents of 12 months or more who are over the age of eighteen. 4 November&lt;/strong&gt; - &lt;strong&gt;5 December&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;2011&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Fleurieu Art Prize, the World's richest landscape painting prize ($50,000), is a rich combination of fine art, some of the world's best wine, fine food and beautiful vistas of the region.&lt;br /&gt;McLaren Vale &amp;amp; Fleurieu Peninsula is a region famous for its striking vistas and extraordinary geological formations.
