Club-going Mayor Eric Adams is a man who likes to boogie. Now he also apparently believes in the boogeyman.

Adams turned his attention from the Bronx Bombers to the Manhattan boo-ers as he broke news in the Yankees press box during Tuesday’s game: Gracie Mansion is haunted.

“I don’t care what anyone says, there are ghosts in there, man,” Hizzoner told Yankees announcers Michael Kay and Cameron Maybin, who invited him into the booth after the mayor tossed out the first pitch. Adams laughed while confirming he sees stuff moving around and hears footsteps in the stately 223-year-old country house that became the official mayor’s residence in 1942.

“Listen, they’re creeping around,” he said.

If the mansion is haunted, that would be news to historians, ghost hunters and former employees, who told The Post they aren’t familiar with stories of spirits, hauntings or undead people lurking around the People’s House.

“Absolutely not, I never heard of such idiocy,” said Anna Maria Santorelli, who worked as a chef and event manager at the mansion under mayors David Dinkins, Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg. Santorelli, who sometimes pulled 19-hour shifts feeding the mayor and guests, told The Post she never heard one story of a bump in the night during her many years there.

Adams is not the first inhabitant of the house to mention ghosts though: Former first lady Chirlane McCray said during a Halloween interview in 2017 that she’d witnessed some unusual activities, saying “there are times when doors open and close by themselves, and the floorboards creak as though someone is walking through the rooms.”

Meatloaf's final appereance will be on "Ghost Hunters"

Just four months before the "Bat Out of Hell" rocker died at age 74, he made one of his final television appearances on an upcoming episode of Ghost Hunters.

While some fans would be surprised to see Meat Loaf on the long-running series, the musician is actually no stranger to the paranormal.

In 2009, he joined the Ghost Hunters on an investigation, thanks in part to his longtime friendship with TAPS member Jason Hawes. Since then, Meat Loaf has worked with the TAPS team on multiple investigations.

The new episode, which is set to air on discovery+ on Feb. 12, follows Meat Loaf and the TAPS team as they investigate an old farmhouse in Tennessee, coined "The Haunted House on the Hill".

"Rumors of terrifying activity have plagued the property for decades, but the new owners want to reassure the community that their home doesn't harbor dangerous entities," discovery+ wrote in a press release of the episode, which was filmed in September 2021.

On Friday, Travel Channel, which is owned by Discovery, Inc., released a preview of the episode on their Facebook page.

Paranormal activity caught on video at haunted Texas hotel (video)

SEGUIN, Texas – The historic Magnolia Hotel in Seguin which is rumored to be haunted has new evidence that spirits are active inside its walls.

Erin Ghedi, who co-owns the hotel with her husband Jim, captured some serious movement on their cameras around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

In a video Ghedi posted to Facebook, which can also be seen in the video player above, a ball can be seen rolling across the floor, along with tiny rem pods that only light up when they’re touched.

“The most exciting thing is watching the shadow figure enter the room on the top left corner by the door. It goes under the table,” said Ghedi.

She told KSAT that she can tell several spirits are in the room at the time of the recording because the ball moves, in addition to a shadowy figure that enters the room on the left at the same time a dress on the right is ruffled.

“That is our children’s room where all of our little spirits enjoy playing because of all the toys,” Ghedi said. “This was definitely sweet Emma because she is the one who enjoys rolling the ball.”

Ghedi said she thinks the shadow figure is a spirit named Mrs. Read who watches over the children.

The story of little Emma Voelcker isn’t for the faint of heart. “Emma is the little girl who was murdered in her own bedroom in 1874 while she was sleeping. Her friend Mrs. Helene Faust was also blinded in the same attack when a man, assumed to be Mrs. Faust’s husband, Wilhelm Faust, struck them both with an ax,” said Ghedi.

Creepy ghost caught in abandoned care home in tthe UK (video)

Urban explorers received the fright of a lifetime after spotting a mysterious disappearing figure while perusing an infamous, abandoned nursing home in the UK. Caters News footage of the nightmare-inducing moment has gone viral online.

“Things like that are bound to give you a cold shiver down your spine,” said South Yorkshire’s Matt Nadine, who had encountered the bone-chilling sight after sneaking into Liverpool’s notorious Mossley Manor Care Home with his pal Andy Thompson. Dubbed the nursing home “from hell,” Mossley had housed dozens of senior citizens — including some with disabilities and dementia — before it was forced to close in 2015 for employing criminals and keeping patients in squalor.

The spine-tingling two-minute clip begins innocuously enough with the two adventurers, who go by the name Finders Beepers History Seekers on YouTube, exploring the moldering interior of the dilapidated building — like any garden-variety ghost-hunter show.

All of a sudden, the camera pans to a dark figure above them at the top of the staircase. The eerie entity darts to its right, upon which Nadine scrambles up the stairs to discover that the “paranormal” peeper has inexplicably vanished.

Despite jacking up the pair’s adrenaline, Nadine initially didn’t feel the ghostly gawker was “anything spectral, more like a homeless person or another explorer,” he said.

The adventurer changed his mind after finding that the only thing in the direction in which the figure moved toward was a wall with a hole too tiny to escape through. It also led to a steep drop-off from the top floor of the freaky facility.

“[T]here was no way anybody could’ve got back across the top of the stairs without Andy seeing as I ran upstairs, and as the footage shows there was nowhere for them to go,” Nadine said.

People in quarantine lockdown are reporting more ghostly hauntings

Coronavirus is spooky enough — but try living through the lockdown in a house that’s haunted.
The unlucky residents of homes believed to have ghosts and ghouls rattling around say they have no way to keep themselves socially distant from the spirit world — and have been subjected to an extra dose of paranormal activity during the coronavirus quarantine.

Believers say they’re experiencing everything from books flying off shelves to creepy “cold brushes” of air and pets behaving strangely.

“The more I’m stuck in this house, the more there’s a feeling,” said Kurt Schleicher, 56, of Tampa, Fla., who has been forced to stay at home during coronavirus in the notorious house where killer Victor Licata slaughtered his parents, three siblings and the family pooch in 1933.

“You notice all of these weird [supernatural] things when you normally wouldn’t. And there’s so much time to think about how scary they are.”

Schleicher told The Post he’s been trying to share the home peacefully with its spectral occupants amid the lockdown.

“I guess you could say I’m getting to know my roommates,” he said. “They left this earth in stressful way — they were murdered while they slept — and their time was cut short, so I understand where they’re coming from.”

Schleicher, who bought the abode because he was a “non believer,” now says he may have been dead-wrong that ghosts don’t exist.

“My dog, a boxer, has been sitting in the bedroom where the mother was murdered and barking at the wall for no reason. It’s not in his nature,” he said. “In the bathroom, you can feel a coldness come over you, a cold brush of something walking by.”
Others have reported hearing disembodied voices, seeing shadowy figures and seemingly possessed electronics, the outlet reported.

Ghosts almost ruined the new Foo Fighters Album

Foo Fighters have claimed that the recording of their tenth album was disrupted by mischievous ghosts.

The rock giants decamped to a 1940s house in Encino, California, but immediately realised the “vibe was off” as their instruments became out of tune and tracks they recorded were mysteriously deleted.

“When we walked into the house in Encino, I knew the vibes were definitely off but the sound was fucking on,” said Grohl. “We started working there and it wasn’t long before things started happening. We would come back to the studio the next day and all of the guitars would be detuned.

“Or the setting we’d put on the board, all of them had gone back to zero.We would open up a Pro Tools session and tracks would be missing. There were some tracks that were put on there that we didn’t put on there. But just like weird open mic noises. Nobody playing an instrument or anything like that, just an open mic recording a room.”

He continued: “And we’d fucking zero in on sounds within that. And we didn’t hear any voices or anything really decipherable. But something was happening.”

The band eventually set up a baby monitor to capture any mysterious goings on when they weren’t there – but are sworn to secrecy about their findings.

“It got to the point where I brought one of those nest cams that I still have at home, for when my kids would sleep in their cribs,” he added in the interview with Mojo. “I set it up overnight so we could see if there was anyone there or anyone was coming to fuck with us.

“At first, nothing. And right around the time we thought we were ridiculous and we were out of our minds, we started to see things on the nest cam that we couldn’t explain.

Man claims to have photographed a ghost at Lauriston Castle

Eyebrows have been raised at Lauriston Castle after a man shared a photo of a mysterious figure standing in one of the windows - when the building was believed to be empty.

Drew McAdam arrived at the 16th century attraction, in Davidson's Mains, on Saturday, prior to a show he was hosting for Magicfest.

While wandering the historical grounds, the magician took some photographs of the estate.

It was not until later, when Drew saw the images he had taken enlarged on his computer, that he noticed something in one of the photographs did not add up.

“On bringing them up on my computer, I was going to edit them a bit, but noticed the strangest thing - figure at one of the windows, who I swear was not there when I arrived.," he said.

"I have not edited this photo in any way. It is exactly as it came on the camera,” he added on a post to Facebook.

The 64-year-old mentalist and mind-reader shared a close-up of the photograph, which shows a figure standing in one of the windows dressed in period dress.

“Now, say what you want, but there is a figure at that window, and they are not wearing modern clothing.

“Additionally, I had taken another couple of photos in quick succession – which you can see here, and the figure appears to have moved,” he said.

Drew, from West Lothian, insists that the photos were taken when the castle was ‘bolted and shuttered’ with nobody inside, shortly before the custodian arrived to open it.

Speaking to the Evening News, he said: “I put the photos up on the computer and thought ‘what the hell’s that?’

“To me, it doesn’t look like a ghost, it looks like a real person. I know the house really well, some people said it was a mannequin or something but there’s no mannequins in that place, it’s a museum,” he added.

Margaret Findlay, learning and programmes manager with Museums and Galleries Edinburgh, said: “We are all extremely privileged to work in a venue like Lauriston Castle, a building rich in history spanning over 500 years.

"Of course the building has stories to tell. The house has had various notable owners over the centuries, and some of these characters are quite colourful and even notorious."

Margaret said paranormal activity was not new at Lauriston: “Our staff at Lauriston Castle have reported hearing footsteps when no one is present, and the sound of silk skirts rustling.

Couple photographs a ghost at a Baltimore Bar (video)

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A spooky sight was captured on camera in Baltimore over the weekend. While on a ghost tour, a Maryland couple took a picture of what looks like a ghost on the third floor of Bertha’s Mussels in Fell’s Point.

Baltimore Ghost Tours posted the photo from the Annapolis couple on Monday. They believe it’s the ghost of a little girl.

The photo was taken Saturday evening sometime between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. along Lancaster Street.

Nicole Henry, of Annapolis, said she was stunned by what her husband, Joseph, captured. She said Bertha’s was one of the first stops on the haunted pub tour and after they left the bar he husband decided to snap a picture of the outside of the building.

When he took the picture the windows were all dark, Henry told WJZ, but when they looked at the picture, they saw something in one of the windows.

“I remember saying, What is that blue light? Is that a hand?” Henry said. “We were like, oh my God.”

She knew she had to show their tour guide, Cliff.

He saw the photo and told them it was a special photo that they needed to share.

“People email us ghost photos all the time, but I’ve never seen anything like this,” Melissa Rowell, co-owner of Baltimore Ghost Tours, said. She said most of the photos they get from their tour are of orbs, or balls of lights normally associated with spirits.

Rowell showed the photo to her business partner, Amy Lynwander, who thought it could have been photoshopped. But Cliff confirmed that the couple showed him the photo moments after it was taken.

“I’ve never seen anything that looks like the human form,” she added.

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- Halloween is still weeks away, but there's already a mystery gripping the city of Springfield on social media.

An eerie snapshot posted to Facebook has over a thousand shares.

Western Mass News spoke with the person who took the picture trying to unravel the secret behind the ghostly apparition in the photo.

In nearly every scary movie haunted places are old, uninhabited dark spaces.

But MGM Springfield is now setting the scene for a possible spooky encounter.

"My friend was kind of messing with things that she shouldn’t have been and we thought it was funny so we went to take a photo of her," Allen said.

It wasn't until the next morning that Allen said the photo taken of her friend at the casino revealed something more.

Something she said seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.

"Hey what is that ghost child? Are you the kind of person who believes in ghosts? 50/50 I’m like right on the fence," Allen said.

Allen told Western Mass News she posted the ghost girl pictures online and made it public and in just a few days it pinged the radar of ghost skeptics and enthusiasts alike.

"A lot of people have approached me and messaged me with stories," Allen explained.

The "legally" Haunted House is for sale again Upstate New York

A “legally” haunted New York house is on the market again.

Former owner Helen Ackley — who lived in the Queen Anne Victorian at 1 LaVeta Place in Nyack, from the 1960s to the late 1980s — publicly asserted the presence of various poltergeists who hailed from the Revolutionary War era and regularly shook beds, slammed doors and traipsed the halls with their phantom footsteps.

Her home, which dates back to the 1890s and fronts the Hudson River just 25 miles northwest of Manhattan, is about to list for $1.9 million with Nancy Blaker Weber of Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty.

It has a spooky history, sure, but also a litigious and star-studded one.

It started when Ackley put the allegedly possessed property on the market in 1989. When she began the process of selling the 15-room, single-family dwelling to Wall Street bond trader Jeffrey Stambovsky, she failed to disclose the spectral situation within.

In a lawsuit that would make headlines around the globe and set a precedent for future real estate transactions, Stambovsky sued Ackley over the deliberate omission and fought to obtain his deposit while backpedaling out of the purchase.

Then, in 1991, New York’s Supreme Court ruled that the home was officially haunted and, in favor of Stambovsky, decreed that Ackley had the responsibility to disclose the property’s apparent apparitions to future buyers.

Ghosts be damned, the stylish manor was subsequently scooped up by film director, screenwriter and actor Adam Brooks, who lived there for 20 years. Brooks reportedly never detected the presence of ghosts.

The home’s current owner, Jewish singer and rapper Matisyahu, also hasn’t reported any supernatural sightings.

“It’s a fun backstory to this gorgeous home,” says Weber, “but none of the previous three owners over the last few years have seen any ghosts.”

Man photographs a ghost at a famous Texas Theatre (video)

AUSTIN, Texas — It's not even fall yet in Central Texas, but this spooky story is already haunting the KVUE newsroom.

Pianist Chad Lawson was performing at The Paramount Theatre in Downtown Austin Sunday when he decided to stop and snap a couple pictures from the stage after soundcheck.

But it wasn't until he got back to his hotel that he made a chilling discovery – the figure of what appears to be a woman floating in the stairway of an otherwise empty theater.

"These photos were taken as we had finished our soundcheck last night at Paramount," said Lawson. "As we were exiting the stage, I stopped to take a picture of the hall as I do with every show. Nothing out of the norm. Three quick shots (as if you were counting out loud 1-2-3), put the phone in my pocket and then headed back to the hotel."

But, in one of those three quick photos, a strange figure can be seen in the stairway.

"Once at the room, I began going through picture filters and to share one of them on social," said Lawson. "That’s when I noticed the figure in the mezzanine. I must confess it did freak me out a bit, especially as the figure is not present in the first photo."

At that point, he decided to do a little research on ghost stories at the theater. A quick Google search returned some eerie stories, including an old KVUE article about spooky sightings at The Paramount.

It specifically mentions sightings of a woman in a white dress who was seen roaming the aisles on the mezzanine.

That's when he decided to reach out to the Paramount itself, asking if a staff member might have possibly been on the floor around the time he captured the images.

"They responded saying it could possibly be the venue manager, Shelley, but was unclear," Lawson said. "After showing the pictures to various people including Shelley, no one was able to say 'that’s definitely her.' And while Shelley states she arrived at the venue and stayed downstairs for some time before going to the mezzanine, it is unclear as to when she did so."

Yet, even still, it gets creepier.

"With the three pics being taken in rapid succession, I am under the assumption if it were actually Shelley, the picture would detail her coming up the stairs in the first picture and more clearly in picture three," Lawson said. "Where, as in picture three, there is a figure but the figure is transparent.
So, if it were Shelley, how are we able to view through her?"

He's not so sure.

"In full disclosure, I will leave this up to you," Lawson told KVUE. "I have no purpose in deception – not my nature of character – and with my taking each photo one after the other, I’m personally convinced it’s not Shelley. But perhaps it would be worth your time reaching out to the venue and inquiring of their point of view as well?"

Boat Captain claims to have caught the Loch Ness Monster on sonar

A BOAT skipper has captured an incredible sonar image which he claims shows a 25ft-long Nessie lurking deep beneath the waves.

Mike Bell captured the remarkable image while he was taking a group of tourists for a trip on Loch Ness on June 27.

The sonar picture shows the bottom of the loch, a fish – and a long, thin object about 115ft (35m) below the surface.

When the 24-year-old circled and took readings at the same spot the object had disappeared, tending to rule out a log or other inanimate object.

Mike, from nearby Drumnadrochit, had just finished explaining the story of Loch Ness and the castle on the water when a tourist spotted the anomaly on his sonar.

The image shows a the sonar device with 101 metres at the top left hand corner indicating the total distance to the bottom at that point.

On the right hand side the device is going down in increments of 20 metres and on it about 15 metres there is a big blip which suggest a big fish.

However, at 35 metres there is a long zig-zag line suggesting a very large object, which Mike believes could be the Loch Ness Monster.

This is the eight official sighting of the Loch Ness Monster this year recorded on the official Loch Ness Monster sighting page.

Speaking today, he said: “I would like to think this is our creature, Nessie. It’s my first year being the skipper in the boat in five months and I’ve never seen it or had something that big on the sonar.

“My dad is the more experienced skipper who has been doing this for a few years and has said he’s never seen it that big before on the sonar. It’s my first sighting of Nessie and I think my dad is a wee bit jealous as he has never seen it.

“The standard size on the sonar is usually a sharp prick suggesting a small fish. The large line about 35 metres in the water was about 10-25 feet.

“An object of that size I would think is way too big for the normal species in the loch. It must have been about five or six minutes we spent trying to pick up this creature again.”

Man claims to have captured the Legendary "Ogopogo" lake monster on film (video)

A south Okanagan man is convinced he’s captured the most conclusive piece of evidence yet of the legendary and elusive lake monster in the Okanagan known as the Ogopogo.

Jim La Rocque was enjoying his mother-in-law’s lakefront property with his two children in Kaleden, B.C. on June 1 when he says he noticed an inexplicable wake on Skaha Lake.

La Rocque scrambled to record the mysterious ripples breaking through the lake’s glassy surface.
His son was wading on a paddle board nearby.

“Eventually he turns and sees a flipper come out of the water and hit the water, and that’s when he… turned around and started coming back in,” La Rocque said.

The longtime Okanagan resident said he couldn’t believe his eyes.

La Rocque believes he witnessed a giant, serpentine creature swimming across the lake with at least seven fins paddling in sync.

He estimates it was at least 36 metres (120 feet) long.

“I’d describe it as like a dragon boat race, like with oars, so if you flipped the dragon boat upside down, you would see all those oars coming out of the water,” he said.

La Rocque owns the Fairview Liquor Store in Penticton, B.C., and curious customers have been stopping by to get a glimpse of the cellphone video for themselves.
“I don’t know what it could be. That’s pretty weird, it’s not like normal waves,” customer Jesse Deuschle said.

“At first I was thinking maybe just waves, but there is obviously something more there,” liquor store employee Jack Holman said.

Ghosthunters capture shadow spirit at a haunted theatre (video)

Ghosthunters in Great Yarmouth believe they have captured paranormal activity at St George's theatre.

A video posted by Ghosted UK on their YouTube channel shows a number of silhouettes walking through the corridors next to the entrance of the theatre.

Members of the group including Tim Johnson, Annabelle Barnes and Amanda Esherwood said they were excited by the discovery at their Paranormal event last month.

Mr Johnson, 51, from Caister, admitted he wasn't sure what the shadow figures were but has described them as "unexplained paranormal activity".

"I haven't got a clue what they are but it definitely isn't the shadow of people because you would have seen somebody walk in front of the window," he said.

"It is really exciting and we want to go back again to explore the building further.

At the minute it remains unexplained."

Mr Johnson said the group which was set-up in January 2019 uses a variety of high-tech pieces of equipment to help with their investigations.

The state-of-the-art kit includes night vision cameras, motion detectors, and voice recorders.

The Ghosted UK team were joined by 10 members of the public at the event with all proceeds raised going to the theatre.

The group said they also heard "creepy voices" at St George's theatre.

Graham Harris operations manager at the theatre said he thought the findings were interesting.

He said: "Anything which helps to support the theatre is a good thing."

"The group would be more than welcome to return."

Michigan couple claim they caught an evil ghost on their baby cam (video)

A young couple in Michigan claims that their home is possibly haunted by a malicious ghost after their daughter appeared to have three deep “purple scratches” on her face. They also believe they have captured the poltergeist on their nanny cam.

Now, they’re ready to move out.

Heather Brough, 25, and her fiancé, Josh Higgins, 30, set up the camera after they discovered the purple scratches on their one-year-old, Lily. They believe what they captured on the camera can only be described as a ghost.

Upon reviewing the footage, the couple believes they saw a male figure walk quickly past Lily’s crib, as she pops up and watches him move through the room, before the alleged spirit vanishes in midair.

According to the Daily Mail, a paranormal investigator, called in to look into their claims, confirmed their home was haunted.

The couple currently resides in Higgins’ mother’s guest house in Highland, Michigan. According to the mother, Kris, before the couple moved in, an elderly lady lived there. Tragically, she lay with a broken hip for “a very long time” before she was found dead at the bottom of the stairs. Then, her “schizophrenic brother” lived in the home until his death a few years later.

“This is a spirit — I don’t know what its intentions are, but at this point it’s becoming physically harmful. This has made us want to leave as soon as possible. As soon as possible we’re out of here,” Brough told the outlet.

Florida family claims to be haunted be a ghost (video)

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A Lehigh Acres family said they are being tormented by several ghosts haunting their home.

Elizabeth Lightfoot said the nightmare first began when the family moved into their 7th Street West home in February.

“I don’t want to talk to it. I don’t want to communicate with it. I just want it to get out, but it doesn’t want to get out so we have to move," Lightfoot said.

Lightfoot said the haunting episodes were mild and not as frequent at the start. The haunting episodes consisted of loud noises and items being shifted around the house, but Lightfoot said it quickly became violent.

“It broke our TV and our blender. I had to tie my cabinet shut. It even threw a knife at me," she said.

“I don’t even want to go anywhere by myself in the house."

The paranormal expert Lee Ehrlich of Ghost Pros investigated the home for potential activity. He brought several detection tools meant to pick up paranormal activity and searched every room.

“I would say that there’s something in the home that people may refer to as supernatural," Ehrlich said. "There’s definitely something odd going on here that warrants further study."

During the search, Ehrlich picked up audio waves he described as the spirit communicating.

A grieving mum believes her home CCTV captured the ghost of her dead son in her kitchen after a 'transparent' figure triggered her camera sensor.

Mom-of-two Jennifer Hodge had been in bed watching TV with her daughter Lauren, 21, when she received a notification on her phone reading 'person spotted in entryway' last week.

When they opened the image, they saw a male figure 'beard and all' that looked just like their son and brother Robbie, who died two years earlier of a drug overdose.

Estate agent Jennifer, 57, claims she is still 'freaking out' after seeing the eerie figure last week - but finds comfort in believing it's a sign her son is at peace.

Jennifer, from Atlanta, Georgia, US, said: "It's just insane - I'm blown away. It's just crazy.

"I was laying in bed watching TV with my daughter and I was just about asleep.

"The phone was lay between us and I got this message notification saying someone was in the kitchen.

"She was like 'Mom, there's a person in the kitchen... Mom, that's Robbie!'

"She just said 'Mom, look! It looks like Robbie'. I was stunned.

"And it did look just like him - beard and all."

The two women rushed into the kitchen terrified by the unusual sighting but found no evidence of a break-in and nothing else has happened since.

The exceptionally clear image appears to show a male figure with white pyjamas in the family kitchen.

Jennifer said: "Now, I feel like he was letting me know he is happy in heaven.

"That brings me some comfort, but I still just think it's weird.

"I'm in awe - why did this happen to me?

"I haven't seen anything since and I had never seen a ghost before.

"Our camera is triggered by movement and noise, but there was no intruder when we ran into the kitchen.

"I don't know what to believe. I'm still in a state of shock.

"Does it look like Robbie? Yes. I would love to see anybody else's camera where people might look transparent. This is just weird."

It’s not quite the hand that rocks the cradle.

However, there’s no denying that some entity is responsible for moving the handle on a Victorian hearse.

Steve Wesson had been hearing rumors of paranormal activity at Nottingham’s Haunted Museum, so he decided to investigate.

On Jan. 3, the paranormal investigator set up a camera to hopefully catch a ghoul in the act. Trouble is, all his video caught is a handle on the old hearse being lifted up, but no one is seen on the tape.

"On the morning of Jan. 4, I went through the camera footage and did not expect to see what I did,” Wesson told Caters News Agency. “Caught on camera, I saw the handle being pushed up in the air with great force being falling back down to its original place — it was very scary but also amazing!"

Wesson acknowledged that the museum houses many items with spiritual oddities. He also said the ghost distorted the camera’s settings.

"We were using a 1080p night vision motion camera so it would not have been possible to have this level of pixelation on its own,” Wesson said, pointing to further possible proof that there could be active spirits both in this realm, and beyond.

LOS ANGELES — Before Jennifer Aniston lived in an apartment above Central Perk with her gal pals, the actress says she lived in a real haunted house.

“This dishwasher would start to go, or the coffee-maker would start to go, or the stereo would just turn on at full volume,” she told James Corden. “And it was terrifying.”

Aniston was on “The Late Show With James Corden” to promote her new Netflix movie “Dumplin’ ” that features music from Dolly Parton.

The actress says the haunting happened when she first moved to Los Angeles early in her career and she even went so far as to hire a ghost whisperer.

“They had frankincense and they put it in a little dish,” she said. “And started saying all these things and the corner that she went to the dish cracked. … (The ghost) hated my roommate. … No (I didn’t tell the roommate), I moved out. I feel terrible, but I couldn’t say it doesn’t like you. I mean that would be terrible.”

As for the roommate, Aniston isn’t too sure what happened to her because “she’s fine … I don’t know, I got out of there too quick.”

Time to visit Arizona's most haunted hotel, the Jerome Grand Hotel.

It's believed that nearly 9,000 people died in the Jerome Grand Hotel during its previous life as United Verde Hospital. That's a lot of sickness, pain and death.

There must be some residual spirit energy left over from all those souls, right? Right.

Ghostly figures, sounds, unexplained orbs of light and other paranormal activity permeate the halls of this ghost-hunting cult mecca high above the turn-of-the-century Yavapai County mining town making it one of the most haunted places in Arizona.

“We were skeptical and didn't believe it in the beginning,” says general manager Chris Altherr, whose father Bob and uncle Larry bought the boarded-up 30,000-square-foot building from the old Phelps Dodge Corporation in 1994 after laying fallow for more than 40 years. “We only had six rooms open at first and immediately began receiving reports from guests hearing voices and a (hospital gurney) in the hallways, but no one was there.”

Scores of visitor accounts

Whether or not you believe in ghosts — or more specifically ghosts at the Jerome Grand — scores of visitors have signed guest books in the lobby noting their experiences.

“We fill a 300-page journal each year,” Altherr says. “We have four or five of them right now.”

Activity happens throughout the hotel, but the third floor in particular. Most of the deaths occurred in the operating room there. The sound of a hospital gurney, wheels across the floor, spook the uninitiated.

“We've made changes with carpet and you can still hear it at 3 in the morning,” Altherr says.

Guests also report the ghost of a cat on the third floor. Like a feline jumping onto the bed and walking around.

“I have heard that one a million times,” he says.

The room that receives the most comments is No. 32. Altherr says it's a former hospital guest room with a balcony and the site of two possible suicides. One former miner confined to a wheelchair reportedly climbed over the balcony railing to this death, and a businessman shot himself there.

Creepy stories

There's lots of creepy stories at the Jerome Grand Hotel, such as the caretaker who committed suicide in the boiler room, or when maintenance man Claude Harvey was found in the basement crushed by the elevator in 1935. He's thought to ride the 1926 Otis at all hours.

“I once received phone call at the front desk from an unoccupied room and heard a lady say something, but it was inaudible,” Altherr says. “I called back, and there was no answer. I walked up there and the room was vacant.”

“We have the real deal up here,” Altherr says. “It's not just a gimmick, we acknowledge it.”

Landlords Michael and Donna Duns, who have run the pub for three years, say it is not the first spooky event to have taken place there.

Michael, 38, said: 'The glass had been there for about 20 minutes and there was still half a pint in it.

'I've heard the pub is haunted off a few people before which I believe now after this happened.

'The three tables in the video have been known to be where main incidents happen regarding glasses moving and falling off tables.

'We have seen two glass moving incidents but never breaking like that.'

Other ghostly events have also been caught on camera, he said.

OREGON CITY, Ore. — It's almost Halloween, but things are already pretty spooky at an Oregon City marijuana shop.

Employees at Five Zero Trees have been seeing some strange things, and some think it might be haunted.

“It’s like, what's going to happen next?” budtender, Andy Gomez said.

In August, Gomez was working at the counter by himself, when surveillance video shows a glass tip jar slowly begin to slide off the edge of a level counter, then fall off.

“As it happened, I kind of felt like someone was standing next to me like somebody was right here,” Gomez said.

Not long after that, surveillance cameras captured another strange happening.

The video shows a pen cup on a different counter with no one around when suddenly, the pens begin to move. To skeptics who think the video was doctored, the store’s general manager said as a cannabis shop, that would be against the law.

“Those are state certified videos,” said general manager Samantha Davidson.

Davidson said at the turn of the century, their building space was used as a pharmacy, which led her to one theory behind the moving objects.

“I feel like it's the pharmacist because he likes to organize things,” Davidson said. “I’ll leave it to the ghost hunters.”

The History of Spirit Photography

What happens after we die? It’s a question that seems to have a million answers, and one that has perplexed humans for thousands of years. In the early days of photography some believed that the camera could be used as a tool to connect with the spirit world.

Spirit photography began in the late 19th century, around the time that the the spiritualism movement was gaining traction across Europe and the United States. The photographers who practiced it claimed that they could capture images of a portrait subjects and their deceased loved ones in a single frame. The haunted images were a big hit and spirit photographers like William H. Mummler, who charged ten dollars for a photo—which was considered a huge amount of money at the time, thrived.

“Photography was very new at the time and people didn’t really understand how it worked,” says Jolene Lupo, Manager of Manhattan’s Penumbra Tintype Studio, a nonprofit dedicated to historical forms of photography. “They knew that it could see more than the human eye could, but they didn’t understand the boundaries of the medium.”

Sometimes ghosts would appear very realistic, with their arms draped around the living portrait sitter. In other images the spirits would appear as no more than cotton-like whisps. One of Mummler’s most well known images featured first lady Mary Todd Lincoln sitting with a translucent image of her husband Abraham Lincoln—five years after he was assassinated.

“Each photographer had their own trademark,” says Lupo. The haunted frames were obviously—at least to our modern minds—a result of some kind of manipulation: chemical, in-camera or something done in the darkroom. Every photographer seemed to have a few tricks for making the ghosts appear.

Eventually spirit photographers like Mummler were exposed as frauds, although in some cases it was difficult to pinpoint what exactly had been done to create the image. People began to understand that the ghost-like figures were created by the photographer, but the practice of spirit photography continued.
