Suatu hari kami menemukannya, si Batu Indah.

Adalah batu Garnet yang masih mentah dengan tekstur kasar dan warna alami yang oh indahnya. Menurut kami, Garnet memiliki warna spesial yaitu mirip minuman Cola. Keindahannya sangat sulit ditangkap kamera. Terkadang kamera menangkapnya seperti hitam. Terkadang lagi seperti coklat.

Karena jumlahnya yang sangat terbatas, kami memutuskan untuk membuat beragam gelang etnik. Gelang ini cocok untuk sahabat yang suka gelang berbatu sedikit lebih besar dari umumnya dengan design yang berbeda.

Kami jatuh cinta dengan paduan warna alami gelang ini.

Bernuansa natural yang dicerahkan oleh Citrine berwarna alami madu.

Bumi terdiri dari 4 jenis batu alam yaitu Garnet, Pyrite, Citrine dan Jasper.

Langit berwarna lebih cerah.

Kami mendapatkan batu Jasper biru ini dalam jumlah terbatas.

Warna birunya memikat hati dan kami suka merangkainya dengan warna kontras seperti ungu, merah dan keemasan.

Tanah adalah design terakhir. Bernuansa natural dgn sedikit sentuhan biru dari batu Lapiz Lazuli dan Sodalite. Sungguh exotis.

Setiap Batu berbeda karakternya walaupun dari jenis yang sama. Tidak ada batu yang persis serupa karena mereka dilahirkan oleh alam tanpa campur tangan manusia. Setiap batu pula yang membuat kami jatuh cinta lagi dan lagi dan lagi. Setiap batu pula yang memberi kami inspirasi :)

Silk and Stones

Hola!! :)

It was just in a snap that I suddenly had the urge to make some tassel necklaces.

It was last week. And, really just out of the blue.

Honestly, I have been seeing a lot of tassel necklaces and somehow we just didn't the click. Making jewelries for me is a dance. The design or concept is the music while the hands, brain and eyes are the dancers. And in my case, I have to get the song first before I can dance. There are days when I just didn't make new pieces at all. But, the other days, I might be so productive and just could not stop until all ideas are transformed into reality.

So, tassel necklaces have finally invited me to their wonderland. Here is some tassel necklaces I made and short stories behind them :)

Luca is my very first tassel necklace. I want to make tassel necklaces in my way.

Simple but still has a magical sprinkle of ethnic touch.

Ludha is the second piece and sold in minutes to my very friendly customer who happened to be my co worker back in the corporate world. Thank you mba Riana. Don't you just love its bright red tassel and translucent blue stones?

Luma represents feminine in modern way combining the contrast of pink, grey and a bit of rustic touch. I used small Rose Quartz stones to cater to the needs for lighter and humble look.

Gama is the only monochrome made so far. It is in charming soft mint. Using Amazonite, Chrysoprase and mint tassel. Hope you love this too.

And finally, The Raida. It has luxurious and sexy ruby red and mysterious black silk tassel.

Plus, the rough stone in the pendant just perfectly balanced it all by bringing the rustic feel.

Current Crush: Bring nature home :)

I love nature!

It is peaceful, calming and full of inspiration.

Bringing nature home is my current crush. I enjoy both leafy and flowery plants. But, I am taking this post for the leafy ones. The big ones :)

3 big palm leafs is enough to decorate a corner in a room.

They are so magical!

Keep the stems long enough and place them in a huge glass vase.

When the space is occupied by plenty of green plants, it is the best time to match it with bright interiors such as this lovely yellow blanket.

Too scared to bring plant inside the house?

Well, I hope you'll love the leafy prints on the pillow case as much as I do :)

Bracelet galore :)

It's a long weekend again! I am just like a little girl who got a candy surprise :)
Decided to use this long weekend to manage the store.

Last week, we launched 7 pieces of OOAK (one of a kind) bracelets. They are so special because we used AAA quality gemstone nuggets sourced from around the globe. I quickly fell in love with the piece.

Inspired by Lavender field -

Amethyst meets Green Garnet and 925 sterling silver ornament :)

Pyra - simply because the Citrine nugget looks like a pyramid :)

Rare and Raw

We just launched new Rare & Raw collection in our jewelry store, Nat's Living Store.

I must be honest that this collection is the extention of my personality. Why so? Because I am always thrilled with organic materials, irregular and rich in texture.

This collection is using rough quartz as the main materials. The quartz are AAA quality, undyed and natural! Each of the stone is special and one of a kind, no duplicate. How gorgeous!!

I was exploring gold ornaments. I believe there are some segments in the market who love golden accessories.

Rough genuine Citrine bracelet.

Do you know that Citrine has healing power?

Rough crystal quarts bracelet! I really love its unique shape!

Brass meets matte gold and chunky Green Garnet.

This necklace is 20-21 inches which will fall nicely because the stone gives enough weight :)

We have been thinking about this since long time back. But, since we're not yet managing the store full time, we waited for the right time. So, this is hopefully the right time for us already :)

My Current Crush

Oooohh! I just can't stop my brain from running.

I am so so so inspired at the moment :)

My style in arts is really about Imperfectness. For me, imperfectness enriches the piece.
(But, please don't get me wrong. I am so keen on room arrangment and hardly tolerate messy rooms)

At the moment, I have a crush on handmade art pieces. Apparently, they are all in white and blue :)

Hand printed timber tiles! I really dream of this!

i.e. to have a wall of handprinted tiles (err, not to make the tiles at the moment)

Handprinted fabric. I finally made my first trial on this, after 1 year!

So happy I tried. But, need to practice more.

Bye bye silver wares. Hello handmade/printed cemaric wares :)

I love its imperfect shapes and color :)

In the Mood for Fashion

Hi Friends,

I think I have hidden interest in certain fashion. I think it's about time to release it. And my favorite style for fashion and home interior is similar. I look for color and texture in both. I love color contrast and in something with high character.

Today, I want to share my findings in modern gypsy fashion.

I love the red blood and creamy white combination. Always find head cover from a twisted scarf sexy and a perfect combination with a pair of large hoop earrings. For me, Gyspy has thick characters. The stacks of some tops all in different cutting is just marvelous. And hey, heel shooes still matches modern gypsy fashion :)

Other application of scarf for head cover and large hoop earrings. I love the color contrast.

Enjoy the texture and the colors from this stacked outfits. She wore a denim jacket on creamy long top and hanging emerald scarf on the neck. For the bottom part, she wore oversized terracota long pants and black boots.

Long patterned skirt with a plain top and scarf plus a pair of boots. Always my favorite!

If you are secretly into modern gypsy but not so much about its dresses, why not applying gypsy patterned accesorries such as a shoulder bag.

Other way to emphasize your gypsy style, long necklaces and head band.

Or, patterned dress and a simple hair band with a splash of turquoise and brown.

Yay!! I am so happy to finally share my passion in fashion.

Bring Back The Dutch Doors

Hope you are doing great :)

I was browsing some interesting sources on interiors few months ago and I fell into love on the first sight with this door called Dutch door or also known as Half door. My mind went back to my childhood in the hometown when I saw this door.

Dutch door is a very helpful door that is divided horizontally into two. The bottom half is usually shut while the top half opens. This way, we can stay safe with the closed bottom and freely connected with the other rooms with its opened top. I imagine that this door will be perfect in a land with fresh air.

Its top half is usually comes in a window format which allows enough light to come in. Ain't this door so helpful?

It can act as an entry door.

or as a room divider which extremely useful in a house with toddlers. Other way to optimize its benefit is making it a stair door. So you can avoid your toddlers from claiming the stair unattentively. I love how the dutch door in this room is painted in deep red to bring the contrast to the dominant white.

So, if you are thinking about making an entry door or a room divider, why not considering a dutch door especially if you are located in a location with fresh and healthy air.

A room is just a room until we give life to it. And, I believe colors, textures, details and sizes are key drivers to making a room beyond functionality. And I am so inspired by some random rooms and interiors ideas below.

Colors in a room:

Blend bold colored interiors in a plain white room.

framed wall decoration in various bold colors in one size, bright red chairs.

Bring the boldness in the wall with big diamond wallpaper.

Similar to the first idea, the bold in this white room coming from its cushions, carpet and table.

I super like this room for kids simply because it is not too kiddish.

I guess the wooden furniture making it more 'mature'

The colorful detail and decorations, on the other side, bring out the kiddish side.

Smart Interiors Ideas:

If we have an 'unusual' corner in the room, why not transform it into a book shelf.

Half gate for baby keeper

My favorite! Simply because the storage is so classic.

I always love cafe au lait bowls and like the diamond mug hanger on the wall.

Smart fold-able study desk for small room.

Long Necklace Attack!

BIG HELLO to you!!

Hope you are fine and enjoying life :)

I was drown into works in the office lately. So glad to breath 'fresh air' and to write again! (thanks to the long weekend)

Talking about office or being out of home, what are your favorite accessories that you must wear whenever you're out of home?

As for me, I like earrings and scarfs. I think it is because I don't do any facial make up and I don't highlight my hair, so the earrings help bring glow to my face. While scarfs is very lovable because they can make us look casual and formal at the same time. What a problem solver!! :)

Just lately, I found myself into simple necklaces as well. I didn't wear necklace a lot before because I had scarf wrapping my neck already. But, here's the secret, why not wearing long necklaces and scarf at the same time? Long necklaces manage to show off its personality despite of being hidden under the scarf.

I like simple and casual long necklaces. Check out my new necklace collection made at home.

First collection: Sea shell pendants made of clay, colored with food colorings.

My camera failed to capture the real color. It should look more like turquoise than blue.

The floral beads give feminine touch to it. Tied with brown faux leather string.

I super like its simplicity and the turquoise pendant contrasts perfectly on any black blouse.

Second collection: nickle plastic beads and turquoise stones.

The necklace lock

I added small turquoise stones on one side of the necklace.

The pendant is so simple. A big round turquoise stone wrapped with nickle string.

Canvas Canvas on the Wall

Hi Hi!!

We are having a long weekend in Indonesia.
Sekarang sedang libur panjang akhir pekan di Indonesia.

I started my long weekend with a quick room cleaning! I believe neat and clean rooms stimulate our productivity. Do we share the same belief? :)
Saya memulai liburan panjang kali ini dengan bersih-bersih kamar! Saya memeluk kepercayaan bawah kamar yang rapi dan bersih memicu kita untuk lebih produktif. Apakah teman-teman juga berpikir sama?

Anyway, about a month ago, I found my eyes passionately caught lines of ready-to-use canvases in a bookstore. I knew I must follow the passion that strongly came out of myself when seeing the canvas.
Ngomong-ngomong, kurang lebih sebulan yang lalu, mata saya terpikat susunan canvas yang siap pakai saat berada di sebuah toko buku. Saya tahu saya harus mengikuti gelorah yang kuat sekali yang keluar saat melihat canvas itu.

So, I tried some techniques and totally had fun with my experiments of playing with canvas and colors. The results might not be outstanding, even my first trial is ugly hehe, but I am glad that I tried.
Jadilah saya mencoba beberapa teknik dan sepenuhnya menikmati experimen saya bermain dengan canvas dan cat. Hasil karyanya mungkin tidak luar biasa, bahkan percobaan pertama saya terlihat jelek hehe, tapi saya senang saya sudah mencoba.

Let me share with you what I did with the canvas.
Ayo saya ceritakan apa yang saya lakukan dengan canvasnya.

1. Botanical Silhouette

My first attempt is making a botanical silhouette.It was such a thorough process.

Apparently freezer paper does not stick on canvas because there are some finishing processes applied on top of the canvas.

Percobaan pertama membuat siluet tumbuhan. Prosesnya cukup detail. Dan ternyata freezer paper tidak lengket di atas canvas karena banyak finishing yang dilakukan di atas canvas

2. Boho pattern

Initially I wanted to make lines patterns.

But turned out that my mood drove me to boho pattern.

Awalnya saya kepikiran untuk membuat pola garis-garis.

Tapi akhirnya mood saya mengarah ke pola boho.

It all started like this. I used a lot of duck tape and double tape.

As you see, they don't stick perfectly on canvas too.

But, it adds more texture on the overall look.

Mulanya seperti ini. Saya menggunakan banyak duck tape dan double tape.

Terlihat juga ya bahwa tapes nya juga tidak melekat sempurna di atas kanvas.

Tapi, tak mengapa! Tokh, belepotannya malah menambah tekstur keseluruhan gambar.

3. Colorful rain

I wanted to express my passion for colors.

It is just like how I imagined it to be.

Saya kepikiran untuk mengekspresikan kesukaan saya terhadap warna-warni.

Dan hasilnya persis seperti bayangan saya.

Technique used is hot crayon using glue gun.

I love how the melted crayon splashed naturally on the canvas

Menggunakan teknih hot crayon dengan menggunakan glue gun.

Saya suka percikan-percikan hot crayonnya sangat natural.

Wild Flower Necklaces

Hello!

I'm so inspired to create pendants out of wild flowers.

Saya sangat terinspirasi untuk membuat biji/mata kalung dari bunga liar atau bunga ilalang.

It's simple and fun to make :)

Cara buatnya gampang dan menyenangkan :)

Some of the wild flower pendants I made today.

Beberapa mata kalung dari bunga ilalang yang saya buat hari ini.

We just need nice cookie cutters, clay and the wild flower.

Hanya dibutuhkan cetakan kue kering yang bagus, clay dan bunga liar/ilalangnya.

I chose the tear drop and heart shapes. And, I collected the wild flower near by my place

Saya memilih bentuk air mata dan hati. Dan, memetik bunga liar/ilalang di sekitaran tempat tinggal

Check out the final pendants. Simple but super love it :)

Hi again :)

So glad to be home. The traffic went crazy this afternoon because it's Friday night! So, I got stuck in the bus for quite sometimes. As you know, I get bored easily. Thanks to my mini sketchbook and a pen in the bag. It was pretty fun to doodle the people I saw while in the bus.

Here they are... and below is the story...

The teenage girl with long hair was in the bus with her mom and little brother. She teased him on and on. I guess she got bored too.

This is her lil' brother.. hmm, may I say, poor brother? hehe

He is the guy sitting next to my seat. He slept and slept and slept.

I didn't even see him checking his cellphone. But, his eyes widened up when the bus hit the city already :D

The woman in my imagination while looking at a billboard. Looking like an old aunt. hehe

I doodled some faces while in the office during the lunch break:

Textures in a Room

I love textures! For me, textures give soul to a room. And off course, they have decorative effects.

Saya suka tekstur. Menurut saya loh ya, tekstur memberikan nyawa pada ruang. Dan tentunya, memiliki unsur dekoratif.

Check out some of my favorite textures in rooms. Let me know if you have some more ideas :)

Simak beberapa ide kesukaan saya tentang tekstur pada ruang. Bila teman-teman punya ide lain, boleh loh dibagikan kesini :)

Brilliant ideas to use painted woods on the wall! Ain't it bring out warmth to the room?!

Menambah kehangatan ruang dengan potongan kayu yang dicat lalu ditempelkan di dinding.

Super love this room! Small white tiles on the walls with brick-like pattern.

The woods on the ceilings just add another accent to the room and lastly, note the glass wall that turns into a mini garden and serves as a room partition.

Sangat terpikat dengan ruang ini! Tegel putih kecil yang disusun seperti batu bata. Lalu, potongan kayu di langit-langit yang menambah aksen pada ruang dan terakhir, wah! menariknya dinding kaca yang sebenarnya adalah partisi ruang namun dijadikan taman dalam rumah.

All white walls meet the blue one! I love the tall windows, or is it a door?

Cantiknya olah warna ketika dinding putih bertemu dinding biru. Saya terpikat dengan jendela tingginya. Jendela atau pintu ya?

Another combination of white and blue in rooms. This room splits the role of blue and white. Blue for furniture. White for the rest (except the floor)

Contoh lainnya tentang kombinasi putih biru pada ruang. Ruang ini memisahkan peran biru dan putih. Biru untuk furniture. Putih untuk elemen lainnya (kecuali lantai)

So many texture on these white rooms from the floor to the ceiling. But what I like the most is the combination of all white room with deep green in the porch. Pretty home.

Beraneka tekstur di dalam ruang, dari lantai hingga langit-langit. Tapi yang paling saya suka adalah kombinasi putihnya ruang ini dengan serambi hijau tua di sampingnya. Rumah yang apik!

Winner of all! Full texture on the walls, ceiling and floor. When black and grey of modern-style house put into different building materials to create textures.

Juaranya! Kaya tekstur di dinding, langit-langit dan lantai. Menerapkan khas hitam abu-abunya rumah modern pada pemilihan material bangunan sehingga menciptakan tekstur pada ruang.

Ruang lainnya. Cantiknya dinding batu bata bercat putih!

Pretty way to create accent in the room with the door frame made of certain stones.

Menciptakan aksen ruang yang apik dengan frame pintu dari bebatuan.

Stack two sheets of papers or napkins.

Tumpuk 2 lembar kertas atau serbet

Fold diagonally.

Then, flip the right end to the middle.

Lipat sesuai dengan garis diagonal.

Lalu, lipat bagian ujung kanan ke tengah.

Then, flip the left end to the middle as well.

Finally flip the triangle on top downward

Selanjutnya, lipat bagian ujung kiri ke tengah juga.

Dan terakhir, lipat setiga di atas ke arah bawah.

Ready to use.

Siap digunakan!

Handmade Necklace

Hello!

Thanks God it is Friday!

I reached home early today from the office because I went out to see an exhibition. The traffic was so clogged that it made me fall asleep in the taxi.
Saya tiba di rumah lebih cepat dari kantor hari ini karena tugas di luar untuk melihat exhibition. Lalu lintas padat sampai-sampai saya tertidur di taksi.

But, still it has been a pleasant day because I got to see my old friend, Karen in the expo. And, I managed to make my own necklaces! hooray!
Tapi, tetap menikmati hari ini karena saat di expo tadi saya sempat jumpa kangen dengan teman lama, Karen. Plus, akhirnya jadi juga buat kalung karya sendiri. Hore!

I used the pendants from my previous project about clay sea shells.

Saya menggunakan biji kalung hasil karya sebelumnya, clay sea shells.

I am inspired to make my own necklace because my favorite necklace is getting old and weak now since I wear it almost everyday.
Saya terinspirasi membuat kalung karena kalung kesukaan saya sudah menua dan lusuh karena dipakai hampir setiap hari.

I bought it in Bandung, West Java.

I really like this necklace because it is so simple, light and rich in identity.

Kalung ini dibeli di Bandung, Jawa Barat.
Suka sekali kalung ini karena sangat sederhana, ringan dan khas.

So, going back the handmade necklaces.
Ok, kembali lagi membahas tentang kalung buatan tangan.

I like the combination of sky blue and bright red.

I think this one will suit best with white shirts.

Kombinasi biru langit dan merah terang yang menawan.

Sepertinya akan sangat serasi dikenakan bersama kaos putih.

I pylox-ed the sea shell to create more contrast with the round mat.

Saya pylox kerang satu ini agar warnanya lebih kontras dengan alas bulatnya.

I like simple and light necklace because it adds accent to our appearance without giving any burden to our neck.

Saya suka kalung yang simpel dan ringan karena tetap memberi aksen pada penampilan kita tanpa memberi beban di leher.

I think my necklaces are simple and casual and far from pretty.

But, I just can't wait to wear them :)

I love nature and I have three things that thrill me a lot aside from plants.

First is any types of woods (including bamboo, rattan, etc), any type of stones (including bricks, etc) and small scale of water.

One of the reasons I like Martha Stewart is her eyes for details. She is able to capture the unmet needs that we do not even think about.

DIY Sea Shells

Still in the mood for colors and paints! :)

Last weekend, I bought some food coloring and molders in Titan, a baking store (read: heaven!! hehehe) in Cilandak, Jakarta.

Check out what I did with them! :)

I bought a molder of a set of sea shell. I can't wait to mold them with colored clay!

I played with deep purple, sky blue and royal blue

Soon to be my new pendants!

I don't have the necklace tile at the moment :)

I was lucky to get a great sea shell molder which is pretty detail I must say.

Last one! Gorgeous! Again thanks to the molder! :)

I got the clay from a bookstore. But I learn that there are many ways to make our own clay, such as this and this.

If you don't have a molder, you can shape it up with your hands such by flattening, rolling or twisting the clay.

Potted Garden Inspiration

Hi there!

It's approaching rainy season in Indonesia.
Makin mendekati musim hujan!

It is the first year for me to have a (potted) garden and I am excited to pass this challenging season well really. I am sure I will learn something new. Thanks to the weather :)
Baru tahun ini saya punya kebun dalam pot dan saya tertantang juga untuk melewati musim hujan kali ini dengan baik. Pasti saya akan dapat pelajaran baru tentang berkebun yah. Terima kasih musim hujan! :)

Dyed Tissue Paper

Hi again! :)

The thought of doing something with colors and paints has lingered in my mind almost a month or even more (I don't recall the time cut).

I planned to change the cover of my small cupboards with something more refreshing, simple but still good for eyes. I have 3 small cupboards and the covers are now almost two years old. I guess it is about time to change it.

So, I just can't wait to get nice fabric to start with this project. And since I don't have the fabrics yet, I played with tissue papers and tried out some dyed patterns. It is so fun and the magic is we'll never know how the pattern will turn out until it happened and we finally see it.

It's called Fold and Dip method.

Fold the tissue paper and dip it into diluted pastel colors.

I chose Red and White patterns :)

Fold the tissue into square and we'll get lines patterns.

Or, try to fold it diagonally to get the diagonal lines.

I love to see the change of color intensity in the paper.

I call this floral pattern :)

Another pattern.. Just have fun folding the paper and change the color concentration

I think the wrinkled edge just adds more character to the paper.
