September Sunday morning in Viking Land

noreply@blogger.com (Andrea Gerák) — Sun, 16 Sep 2012 11:02:00 +0000

Szeptemberi vasárnap reggel Vikingföldön

Hello, it's been a while... I have a new blog where I have been busy recently and where I gather all of my blogs nicely.

When I woke up 1 or 2 hours earlier then I would normally do, I faced the dilemma: I knew I would need more sleep to function properly throughout the day - on the other hand, I anyway want to change my schedule and get up earlier (my attempt a few months ago to do it really drastically and wake up 5 every morning, didn't last long...)

Plus, clear blue sky, sunshine - just as the summer should have been.
Plusz, tiszta, kék ég, napsütés - ahogy azt a nyáron kellett volna.

So far, it was definitely a good decision not to cuddle back in my bed: had my coffee in the garden while doing some planning, getting a nice tan and my neighbor greeted my with a loud shout at the moment it saw me, did the dishes and cleaned a little bit in my house, laundry is in the machine, took a bunch of photos and picked a few apples (guaranteed organic and delicious, just need a few more days).

And now I can see more and more clouds coming...
Most meg már gyülekeznek a felhők...

Enjoy your Sunday, too!
Nektek is kellemes vasárnapot!

The pink cat

noreply@blogger.com (Andrea Gerák) — Sat, 21 Jan 2012 19:26:00 +0000

A rózsaszín macska

Somehow, I was never a super cat lover - hm... I just realized that 2 of my exes were allergic to cats and they have loaded me with a lot of their hate against these cute, furry darlings... -, but I did like them from a distance. Growing up on the third floor in a small apartment, it was not an option for us to have any pets, and I always only considered dogs and cats as animals that should live free, to some degree, and not in the cage of 4 walls. Family house with a garden is great, and there they have a function, they have practical uses and are not simply pets.

After my grandma's cat in the village who did catch the mice and didn't know Whiskas, and 2 or 3 cats coming by every once in a while to pay a visit in our garden and clean it up from the mice, my next experience was an old, always drunk lady living just downstairs from us in Budapest, with 17 cats or so, in a super tiny studio apartment, if you can imagine the smell that was coming out from there...

A few years later in Vienna, the big family house where I was staying, was full of kids & cats - sometimes a bit messy and noisy, but so much lively and fun!

Then I met Sesam last summer in my girlfriend's house, he was a lovely chap, cuddling up my my feet in the evenings.
Aztán tavaly nyáron találkoztam Sesammal a barátnőmék házában, helyes fickó; esténként a lábamhoz kuporodott.

And I definitely love these felines as photo subjects :-)
És határozottan imádom a cirmosokat fotóalanyként :-)

Nature is waking up, also in this blog. And even here, in Stockholm. I am here now for a few weeks - it was quite a shock to arrive from Budapest on the last night of March when it was already wonderful sunshine and T-shirt weather for about 2 weeks in Budapest, and Stockholm received me with snow, slush, icy wind... But it is now spring here as well, finally! Yesterday was the first time when I didn't need my winter coat in the evening...

And now I would love to post some of the beautiful pics I took, but have to go out with my friend's dog for a walk, he is getting impatient.

Flowers in the city

noreply@blogger.com (Andrea Gerák) — Tue, 25 May 2010 10:56:00 +0000

Stockholm is fully in blossom, which is the least that can be expected at the end of May. This should sound very enthusiastic now, but after living in Sweden for 4 years, I am still confused and disappointed about the weather and the seasons here: the winter just ended not even 2 weeks ago, after that there was a very short period with the day temperature around 20 Celsius, which is called summer and girls walk in the city half naked, and today - just as 2 days ago - I will need my winter jacket...

Stockholm teljes virágpompában - a legkevesebb, ami elvárható május végén.

Well anyway, let's be positive; here are a few beauties for your eyes and soul :-)

Na mindegy, legyünk pozitívak; itt van néhány szépség a szemeteknek és a lelketeknek :-)

Tulips grow wild in many places - of these ones, I couldn't decide if they were growing just by themselves, or was it supposed to be a flower bed (seen in front of an office building):

But it was obvious at Kungstradgarden - would be weird otherwise, with such a name (The King's Garden):

Viszont nyilvánvaló volt a Kungsträdgårdenben - különben furcsa lenne ezzel a névvel (a király kertje):

Staying at "Kungsan", this is only how I could catch the famous cherry blossoms this year:

Yes, it is officially spring now, even here in Stockholm! Which means we don't really have minuses any more :-)

Today, when I went to the backyard to get a little sunshine and for my breathing exercises, I discovered these beauties - before, they were hidden under the snow...

These were the very first one I have seen this year, on the ground and not in the shops.
