Do
you want to add social media icons to your blog so that readers can
find you elsewhere on the web? Here are step-by-step instructions.

Overview:
You will add an "HTML/Java Script" gadget to your sidebar, and these
instructions will walk you through writing the HTML code. I'm no HTML
expert; if I can do it, so can you. The idea is to link publicly
available images of social media icons (which you will host on
Photobucket) to your own social media pages.

Basic Tutorial

Step 1: Find a set of icons you like.

Google "free social media icons" and you'll find great links to free icons. Here are two I like: The Ultimate Roundup of Amazing Free Social Media Icon Packs and 50 Free Social Media Icon Sets. Download the set of icons, which often include different sizes. The buttons I use are 32 x 32 pixels.

Step 2: Upload the images you want from the set to a Photobucket account.

Open a Photobucket account if you don't have one. Set it to public.

Upload the specific icons you want to use to your account.

Step 3: Write HTML code that will link these images to your social sites.

Open a separate text file or word document to write your code.

The
code for each icon will follow the format below (in this example, the
red link is my Twitter page and the blue link is my Twitter icon on
Photobucket). The rest of the steps will show you how to create this
code.

<a href="https://twitter.com/sarakhansara92"><img src="http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o776/sarakhansara92/twitter_zps2a527f16.png"/></a>

To get this code, go to your Photobucket account. Go to the image you want
on Photobucket (e.g., Twitter icon), click on it, and you will see a
box like this on the right part of the page. Click your cursor inside
the third box that says "HTML code." This will copy the code, but you
will need to tweak it a bit.

click on the third line (HTML code)

Paste the code into your working document. It will look like this:

<a
href="https://twitter.com/sarakhansara92"><img
src="http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o776/sarakhansara92/twitter_zps2a527f16.png"/></a>

Replace the first link (the one highlighted in red) with your social media link.
To get your social media link, go to your site (Facebook Fan page,
Twitter profile, etc.) and copy the address from the browser bar. Your
finished code for one social icon will look like my Twitter code above.

Repeat this process for each social icon you want to use.
If you have three icons, Facebook, Twitter, and G+, you will have three
paragraphs in your code. At the end of this post are instructions for a
more sophisticated look and specific instructions for an RSS feed icon.

Copy the entire finished code. You will be pasting this into your Blogger gadget.

Step 4: Post the code onto your blog.

In Blogger, go to Layout --> Add a Gadget. I recommend placing the gadget in the upper part of your sidebar.

Find and select the HTML/Java Script gadget.

Paste your code into the Content box.
You can leave the title blank, or you can add a title like, "Find me on
the Internet" or whatever you want to say about your icons. I think
most people understand what the icons mean, so I don't use a title.

Save and you're done. Admire it on your page. (And check to see that the links work).

Advanced Tutorial

1. Code for RSS Link

Before
adding an RSS icon, you need to create an RSS feed. (An RSS feed is a
way to syndicate your content. Readers subscribe to your feed and your
posts show up in their readers of choice).

To create/find the link for your RSS feed, go to www.feedburner.com.
It may ask you to sign in with your Google account. Look for a box that
will offer to burn a feed for you instantly. Insert your Blogger
address and hit "Next." You will then see a screen like this:

a name for your feed address, then hit "Next." Feedburner will confirm
that your feed address is "http://feed.feedburner.com/nameyoupicked."
This is the link you use for your RSS icon (it will go where the red
link was in the HTML code).

2. Create a text that appears when someone hovers over your icon.

If
you hover over the icons on my website, you will get a message like,
"Follow me on Twitter" or "Follow me on Pinterest." To get this effect

Change the label as appropriate for each social media icon.

3. Add spaces between your icons.

If
you find the icons look too squished together, you can add some space
between each icon by adding the following at the top of your code. Play
around with the number of pixels to change the spacing (this code sets
it at 3px):

4. Center your icons.

If you want to center your icons, add the blue bolded code in front of your first paragraph (your first set of icons):

Hope
this has been helpful. If you're an HTML expert and have an easier way
to do this, please let me know. Let me know if you have any questions or
issues with these instructions. Thanks!

So
you started a blog. What's the secret to increasing its page views?
This blog is tiny compared to many, but happily, it's going in an upward
direction.

This
blog bumped along until a year ago, when I made a concerted effort to
post more consistently and increase my exposure. Here are five things I
did that helped increase my page views and readership:

1. Add Internal Links to Improve Site Stickiness

When people land on a post, I want them to stay on my site and read other content, so I:

Add related links to each post.
I add links to 2 or 3 similar posts at the end of every article. Plug
ins are available for Wordpress and Blogger that do this automatically
(for example, nrelate), but I prefer to add relevant links manually.

Link to my own content whenever possible. If I refer to a previous post, I link to it.

Create permanent pages. Older posts get lost in the ether, even with the use of tags. To keep good content available, I create page tabs such as "Artist/Writer Info" and "Reviews" that are always visible under my banner.

When I did this in September 2011, my page views doubled, as people stuck around to explore other parts of the blog.

2. Improve SEO to Improve Search Results

Search
Engine Optimization (SEO) means organizing your site and writing your
articles with search engines like Google in mind. Your goal is to have
your site placed highly in search results (the top slots on the first
page). I'm not an SEO expert, but I try to:

Pay attention to SEO.
Good content will generate good links and viewers, but writing titles
and text with keywords in mind will improve SEO. Joel Friedlander's
excellent article, "Best and Simple SEO Tips for Authors blogging to build their author platform" gives a good overview of this and other SEO tips.

Make SEO friendly links. When I link to my Facebook page, Nava Concept, I link to the keywords instead of saying, check out my Facebook page here. (See what I did?)

Switch the order of the blog title.
Blogger posts show up in search results as Name of Blog | Name of
Article, but a more SEO-friendly post would have the name of the article
first. Here's how to optimize title tags for SEO in Blogger, Wordpress, and Tumblr. (And here's a tip on creating your own permalinks to optimize for SEO).

Make images SEO friendly by renaming them.
Search engines will crawl image file names, so it's better to save
files as relevantkeyword.jpg than IMG_001589.jpg. This is particularly
helpful if you are an artist or illustrator and would like your images
to show up in searches.

Tag photos with "title" and "alt" text. I
take advantage of Blogger's "Properties" tags, which allow me to add
additional text that is picked up by search engines. To get to the
Properties box, click the Properties tag on the menu bar that shows up
when you add an image:

Clicking on it will open this form, which I fill with SEO-friendly text:

3. Use Social Networks to Attract Readers

If you build it, they won't necessarily come. Here are two things I do to bring readers to my blog:

Spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. When
I publish a post that I think people would be interested in, I link to
it on my other social media sites. I don't do it for every post, and I
don't link to them ad nauseum, but Twitter and Facebook have turned into reliable sources of readers. Every once in awhile I repost older popular posts.

Participate in Blog Carnivals. I've participated in Joel Friedlander's Self Publishing: Carnival of the Indies a few times. My post, "5 Nontraditional Publishing Models from Around the World"
became one of my more popular posts as result. In a blog carnival, you
submit an article on a specific topic and a moderator may decide to
publish it. Blogcarnival.com provides a comprehensive list of ongoing blog carnivals.

4. Actively Connect With Others in Niche

This
is probably the secret sauce. Once I started interacting with others
and participating in my niche, my blog's viewership steadily grew. Here
are some of the things I've done this past year:

Participate in a comment challenge. In January, I joined Mother Reader's comment challenge,
which asked participants to leave 5 comments on blogs each day for 20
days. All participants were children's book bloggers, so I met
interesting people in my field. It did take time to read and comment on
blogs, but I discovered some great blogs, and leaving comments led
people back to my blog.

Participate in the 12 x 12 x 12 challenge. The 12x12x12 challenge asks picture book writers to write one picture book manuscript a month in the year 2012. The 12x12x12 Facebook page turned into a very active, supportive community. The challenge also gave me the opportunity to write a guest post on avoiding procrastination on founder Julie Hedlund's excellent blog. Along these lines, I plan to take part in Picture Book Idea Month (PiBoIdMo), which starts in November, where participants come up with a picture book idea a day.

Post to Illustration Friday. Illustration Friday is a
weekly forum where illustrators create and post illustrations based on a
prompt, and the illustrations link back to their blogs or websites.

Network with other children's illustrators. I continue to stay in touch with children's illustrators I've met through conferences or classes like Mark Mitchell's excellent online children's illustration course.

Be generous when networking. I
like interviewing and featuring other illustrators or artists, because
they have something valuable to share. The side effect of highlighting
others is that they bring their followers to the site when they share
the interview.

My
most popular posts have been posts where I share Blogger tips. That
makes sense, as they are of broadest interest, and they provide concrete
tips that readers can immediately put to use (for example, how to add social icons to your blog).

The
posts that I most enjoy creating, however, are the ones where I share
my art or thoughts on life. The key for me is to keep myself interested
and motivated to blog. It's
great if I can find an audience that shares my interests, but even if I
don't, at least I haven't wasted my time doing something I don't enjoy.

I
also try to post at least once or twice a week, which brings back
repeat visitors. Last month, I posted more frequently as part of 30-day
art challenge (Sweet Squares), which resulted in an even greater increase in page views.

Lots of authors blog now, but blogging isn’t just about writing. There’s no way to avoid the technology side of blogging.
Although you can hire someone to take care of installing software and
setting up elements of your blog, the responsibility for your regular
blog posts falls on you, as the blogger.
For instance you have to set your own schedule and editorial focus.
Beyond that, we all hope that through our blogging we’ll attract readers
and eventually sell books.
Particularly for nonfiction authors, it really pays to learn how to optimize your blog posts for searchers. A few simple practices can help you attract the kind of people you want.

Simple SEO Practices for Authors Who Blog

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a huge field
with practices that change regularly because search engines keep getting
better at delivering quality links to searchers, and website owners
continue to seek an edge over their competitors by trying to make their
own site appear high in the search results.
Having said that, there are simple things you can do when you create
blog posts or online articles that will help your rankings in the search
engine results dramatically.
I do this often with the articles I write here, and I take it
seriously enough that I’ve invested in some tools to help with SEO
tasks. But there are a lot of things you can do quite easily if you know
how.
To make this even easier to understand, I’ve broken it down into 6
items to pay attention to. Each of these is pretty simple to master and
together they are going to help bring targeted readers to your blog.

Anchor text

This is the text that you use for a link, and it can be a powerful SEO tool if you use it properly.
For instance, if I want to put a link into an article about my blog, it might occur in a sentence like this:
But what part of that sentence should you use for the actual link?
Many bloggers pay no attention to this, but look at the choices you
have, and the effects of each. With this choice you get the click, but nothing else.
Reinforces the domain name being linked to, so you get extra emphasis from that Bingo. This amounts to a vote for the website being linked to as a “great blog about books.”
When you create links, think about the text you use to anchor the
link, and what it’s saying about the site you’re linking to. Anchor text
is a special and powerful form of emphasis and using it well will help
your search engine results.
This is also why getting a domain name with one of your keywords in
it pays off in so many ways. Every time someone links to your site using
your domain name—the most common form of anchor text—it’s another vote
for your site as a good place for information on that keyword.

Link Juice

What I mean by juice is the authority and influence passed along through a link from a website with a higher ranking than yours.
So if you can obtain a link from a highly-regarded and high ranking
website, some of their influence will pass on to you, raising your own
profile in search.
How do you get link juice? There are lots of strategies, but the best
way is to produce useful, essential, or mind-bendingly great content
that everyone wants to link to, then market that content by letting
people know about it. They will pass it along to their own networks of
influence.

Title tag

This is another crucial element in your SEO efforts when writing blog
posts. The title tag is an HTML field on your webpage or blog post that
is scanned by search engines to determine the content of your article.
It’s basically the headline you write for your article, but some
blogging software also gives you access directly to the title tag.
That’s why you need to make sure the subject of your article and
anything else you want people to link to appear in the title tag. This
is where the keywords that are associated with your article need to show
up in the title. Researching the keywords people use to find
information about your subject is one of the most productive things you
can do if you want to find more traffic for your blog.

First paragraph

Again, this is an important place that search engines will look for
content information and emphasis. Putting a link in the first paragraph,
and making sure you use keyword-rich anchor text and link to great
content that’s directly related to your article—whether that content is
your own or someone else’s—helps to powerfully reinforce the other SEO
actions you’ve taken.

Link out

Providing links in your articles gives more opportunities to
emphasize anchor text and to expand the reach of your article by
providing more resources and related content to readers.
On my blog, for example, I’ll typically have 6 to 8 links in a
1,000-word article. Whether these are clustered in a “Resource” section
or scattered throughout the text, they position the article in the sea
of related articles and show how it connects to other writers, to other
subjects, and to other articles here on the blog.

Link deep

Another way to use SEO tools for your own benefit and to help your
readers is to make sure you link to your own posts on the same topic.
This might be as simple as mentioning related articles, but you can
take it much further. For instance, you can essentially cast votes for
one of your own articles by repeatedly linking it to it in subsequent
posts.
For instance, I’ve also written on this subject when I addressed how nonfiction authors can use keyword marketing. The link in the preceding sentence points to one of those earlier articles.
And even if you have a blog, don’t neglect the affection that search
engines have for well-organized hierarchical pages. With software like
WordPress it’s as easy to create pages of evergreen reference material
as it is to create daily blog posts.
Add structure by creating detail pages as sub-pages of your top-level pages, and you’ll get even more of an effect.

Conclusion—But it Never Ends

SEO is by its nature an ongoing and ever-changing study. As search
engines continue to evolve, and as the efforts of optimizers continue to
find ways to “game” the system, the rules and practices of search
engine optimization will continue to change.
But understanding today’s best practices and putting them to use can
have a dramatic effect on how popular your articles become, how many
readers are sent to your site by search engines, and your audience
growth or influence reach.
If you have a Gmail account and hope to create a new Gmail address or
want to transfer your blog to another email address – DO NOT JUST
DELETE your Gmail account. By doing so you will inadvertently delete
your blog and that is nearly impossible to recover. Before you attempt
anything, always download and save your template. And, ummm… I refuse to be responsible for you losing your blog.
Proceed with caution.
Transferring your Blogger blog from one gmail / email account to
another is really quite simple. But done incorrectly, it can be
disastrous.
Did you back up your blog? For real? Don’t think it can’t happen to you.
Here are the steps to transfer your Blogger / Blogspot blog to a new email address:
1. Sign into your old Gmail account, the one currently assigned to your blog.
2. Go to your blog. Customize > Settings> Permissions>
3. “Add Author.” Add the new Gmail account as an author.
4. Sign out of Blogger and Gmail. Sign into your new Gmail account.
5. Accept the authorship to your blog. Don’t stop here!
6. Sign back into the first (old) account. You will need to go back to Customize> Settings> Permissions.
7. Grant your new email address Admin Privs. Both email addresses now have equal blogging control.
8. You may now sign into your new Gmail address and control your blog.
9. If you plan on deleting your old Gmail address, you may now
remove it from your Blog by repeating #2, then clicking “remove”.
10. Once there is no association to the blog, you can safely delete your Gmail account without losing your blog.

Method 1

To view someone's IP# when they send you hotmail email do this:
1) Click "Options" on the upper right side of the page.
2) On the left side of the page, Click "Mail"
3) Click "Mail Display Settings"
4) Under "Message Headers" select "Full" or "Advanced"
5) Click ok

Method 2
reg a dydns account and install the ip pointer, so each time you ping the host name you regestored

for example:
you regestor the host name myhost.dydns.com, then you keep a little software running on the target host. The little software will keep update your IP to dydns.com server.

so at your pc just start cmd, and ping myhost.dydns.com, it will give you the most updated ip address.

Method 3
neverender, what doesn't work for you? Simply type in nc -vvv -l -p 80 on your box, which will set it to listen in verbose mode on port 80. Then give them a link to your IP address (for example: 111.111.111.11) and tell them to type it in their browser. The browser should resolve the address as well as append port 80 automatically. Just make sure that your friend is not very computer literate.

Method 4
Just download a very simple server such as this one and install it on your comp. Then run it and give your ip to the person you want and tell them to connect to it through a browser. Your server will log their connection and you will get their IP.

link:http://www.download.com/Abyss-Web-Server/3000-2165-10283992.html?tag=lst-0-6

Other Ways
-www.imchaos.com and make a "spy poll" to put in ur profile, this will tell u the IP of anybody who answers ur poll
-originalicons.com there is a page for doin it (i dont like it, but it works)
-or irc

Here is a more detailed tutorial about using NetCat.

http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2003/05/29/netcat.html

Windows users can download NetCat from here:
menu of your files and/or folders. And most times, you have no choice in the
matter and, as a result, your right-click menu can get very long with added
items you don't even use. The last person I was helping with this had a right
context menu so long that the Rename option was no longer visible!

Fortunately, you can easily remove those unwanted menu items, if you
know the registry values to edit. And it's not at all difficult once you know
the keys responsible for the additions.

For Files, the secret lies in the "context menu handlers" under the
shellex subkey for "All Files" which, in the registry, is nothing but
an asterisk - like a dos wildcard, which means the values entered apply to all
files. It is at the very top of the Root key, right here:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

Click the the + sign next to the ContextMenuHandlers key, to expand it.
Now you will see some of the programs that have added items to your right-click
menu. Simply delete the program keys you don't want.
Yup! It's that simple. If deleting makes you uneasy, just export the key before
deleting it. Or, instead of deleting the values, disable them. Simply double
click the default value for the program on the right hand pane and rename the
clsid value by placing a period or dash in front of it.

ie; - {b5eedee0-c06e-11cf-8c56-444553540000}

Then exit the registry, refresh, and right click a file to see if the
item was removed from the menu.
Some programs - like WinZip or WinRar - will add several items to your right
click menu but all of them will be removed by deleting or disabling their one
context menu handler.

Note that the above key only applies to the right click menu of files.
To remove entries from the right click context menu of folders, you need to
navigate to the Folder and Drive keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

All you have to do is follow the same procedure as for Files - either disable
or delete items you wish to remove.

Adding Items

Adding Items to the right click menu of Files and Folders is also fairly
simple using the Registry. It just involves the creation of a few new keys for
each item you wish to add. You edit the same keys used for removing items.
Let's use Notepad as an example of an item you'd like to add to the right click
menu of all your files or folders.

For folders, go to this key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder

Click the + sign next to Folder and expand it so that the Shell key is
visible. Right click the Shell key and choose New>Key and name the key
Notepad or whatever else you'd prefer (whatever the key is named is what will
appear in the right-click menu). Now right click the new key you made and
create another key named Command. Then, in the right hand pane, double click
"Default" and enter Notepad.exe as the value.
Exit the registry, refresh, and right click any folder. Notepad should now be
on the context menu.

For files, go here again:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*

Expand the * key and see if a Shell key exists. If it does exist, follow
the same procedure as for folders. If it does not exist, you'll have to create
a new Shell first. Just right click the * key and choose New>Key and name it
Shell. Then right click the Shell key and continue on the same way you did for
adding items to the right click menu of folders.

Once done, Notepad should appear as an option in the right click menu of
all your files.

Start Nero

From the action-bar select File and select Preferences.

In the Preferences window, select Expert Features(1) and check the Enable overburn disc-at-once(2).

Choose a Maximum CD Length(3) and click OK(4) (*82:59:59 is the maximum value I suggest, but as you can see from the screen capture above I have set mine significantly higher. The reason is because I frequently use 99min 850 MB CD media).

For a more accurate test you can use a nero tool called nero speed test to see how much a specific CD is capable of being overburned . get it here

From the action-bar select File and select Write CD.

A window will appear when you have exceeded expected length, click OK to start the overburn copy.

Remember to set disk to burn Disc at Once, you cannot overburn in Track at Once Mode.

First go to http://www.shareordie.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3269 to learn binary.

OK, 1,453,752 is 101100010111010111000 is binary, now we turn it into a Hex number.

First Hex numbers goes like this:
1=1
2=2
.
.
9=9
10=A
11=B
12=C
13=D
14=E
15=F

Now you need to take the first octet (the far right 4) and place it under this little grid:

8 4 2 1
--------
1 0 0 0 = 8

See the 1 under the 8 column?
That is what you add.

So the next octet is 1011, put it under the grid:

8 4 2 1
--------
1 0 0 0 = 8
1 0 1 1 = B

See 8+2+1=11, so you can't just say 11 you have to put it in a Hex number, which is B.
So the full Hex number of 1,453,752 is:

8 4 2 1
--------
1 0 0 0 = 8
1 0 1 1 = B
1 1 1 0 = E
0 0 1 0 = 2
0 1 1 0 = 6
0 0 0 1 = 1 <-- Just add zero if it isn't a full octet

162EB8

So if you want to turn a number in to the shorter version of Hex, just turn it into binary, then use this grid and you'll do fine

P.S. Thanks Korrupt for the number to work with

NOTE: This applies only to specific hosting companies, due to the
specific setup needed and does have its drawbacks.

While setting up hosting space with a specific company I often deal
with, I noticed that they used a shared IP. (IP shared by two or more
websites/domains.) Well, the rates for unlimited bandwidth were
around $50+ per month, which I found unreasonable. I didnt require
much space, and didnt want to be limited to a mere 3 gig of traffic
per month.

Back on track... When setting up the acct, the hosting company needs
to know the domain name so that they can direct it accordingly.
(example: 'http://www.123.4.567.890/~user1/ ,
'http://www.123.4.567.890/~user2/ etc)

At this point you can give a url that doesnt belong to you at all. As
long as the nameservers dont change, that should have absolutly no
negative effects on you or your site whatsoever.

How it works is this:
The host propogates you a certain amount space on its servers, and
monitors the traffic that enters their space through the domain its
registered under. Being that the domain isn't connected to the site
at all, it registers ZERO traffic.

Zero traffic registered = can't possibly go over bandwidth
restrictions
can't possibly go over bandwidth restrictions = free unlimited
bandwidth

Now the problems with this (besides the ethical ones) is that your
host may offer X amount of mail addys with the acct
(you@y...) and these will not work, as the name isnt on their
DNS. However, some domain companies allow you to set it up
regardless. Another problem seems to be strictly cosmetic, but can be
highly problematic... Once you attach the domain you want onto the
site, each page comes up/w the ip/UN the host propagated to your
acct. Its at this point where you have to have a phenominal 10-15
character alphanumerical or better (#, &, etc) pw, or your site will
be vulnerable to attack since the attacker already has your UN. This
only gives attackers a slight advantage as the amount of time it
would take to brute force a 10 character pw @ a rate of 1,000,000 per
second is 10 years. Add numbers and case sensitivity to that and it
becomes approx 26,980 years.

While I'm on it, I may as well add that if you use this method,
obviously you are going to be using the lowest cost hosting plan
available, which in turn will offer the least amount of space. Thats
why free hosts were invented.

Free hosts suck as a general rule. Who wants a site smothered in ads?
However, if you upload all your programs, graphics and other large
files (have a backup of course) to a reliable free host and target
them accordingly from your site you have just freed up a signifigant
amount of space. The only setback/w this is having to keep an index
card or file around/w your pws, as you should never use the same one
twice, and want to use complicated ones.

Tutorial: Free Hosting For Warez (how to do it...)
By: darkraven (aka bobbasic)
Level: Average (takes time)

Place to stick your warez and how to do it.
if you have a file you wish to upload and its too large for a free webhost and you still want it online try this method.

www.rarlab.com: download rar and cut the file up into 1MB files.
Mass Rename them to .doc (i forgot how to do it but its via CMD)
www.hostultra.com: sign up for the free hosting, which has unlimited bandwidth and space with a REAL (yet not your main) hotmail account.
Upload the files via FTP

Goto www.projectw.org
and tell people the link ie. http://www.hostultra.com/blah/blah1.doc - blah100.doc
Use Flashget to download!

And there you have it, as long as the people on hostultra dont find your site your fine icon_razz.gif

Downsides:
hostultra only allows max file size of 1MB files.
hostultra does not allow .exe or .mp3

Hostultra:
Unlimited Data Transfer
Unlimited Disk Space
100mbps Network Connection
99.9% Uptime
Free Sub Directory ( hostultra.com/~you )
Cool yourname.vzz.net URL!
Free Subdomains ( Many domains to choose from! )
Free Domain Hosting ( yourdomain.com )
Custom Domain DNS Control ( A/CNAME/MX Records )
Browser and FTP Uploading
PHP / MySQL*
Unlimited Domains / Unlimited Subdomains
Free Search Engine Submission

Terms Of Use For HostUltra
# In addition to the above, User shall not upload onto their hostultra web space any of the following:

1. audio or video files of any type this includes but is not limited to .wma .wmv .wav .mp3 .avi .mpg .asf .mov (however flash and midi files are allowed);
2. spanned archives such as such as .z01 .rar .ace;
3. any binary files that are not linked to an html page on the Site;
4. sites which contain only (or mostly) downloadable files;
5. download sites of any kind, including but not limited to, shareware, freeware, trialware, demos, warez, appz, gamez, iso, cracks;
6. photo albums, image galleries or TGPs;

(THOUGH WHOS LISTENING TO THE RULES?!)

to make it less likely hostultra will delete your account, add a fake little site on there, like a few pages of crappy html about some stupid thing which has nothing to do with warez. (ie. bob's site)

Yes, firefox is already pretty damn fast but did you know that you can tweak it and improve the speed even more?

That's the beauty of this program being open source.
Here's what you do:
In the URL bar, type “about:config” and press enter. This will bring up the configuration “menu” where you can change the parameters of Firefox.

Note that these are what I’ve found to REALLY speed up my Firefox significantly - and these settings seem to be common among everybody else as well. But these settings are optimized for broadband connections - I mean with as much concurrent requests we’re going to open up with pipelining… lol… you’d better have a big connection.

Double Click on the following settins and put in the numbers below - for the true / false booleans - they’ll change when you double click.

Code:
browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs – true
network.http.max-connections – 48
network.http.max-connections-per-server – 16
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy – 8
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server – 4
network.http.pipelining – true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests – 100
network.http.proxy.pipelining – true
network.http.request.timeout – 300

One more thing… Right-click somewhere on that screen and add a NEW -> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. Since you’re broadband - it shouldn’t have to wait.

Now you should notice you’re loading pages MUCH faster now!

Has this ever happened to you?

You're looking for something on a long web page with Internet Explorer or Netscape. You think it's there, but you're faced with seemingly insurmountable number of paragraphs, sentences, and words to hunt though.

Well, next time this happens to you, hit the Edit menu, Find (or CTRL-F for you shortcut lovers). You'll get a handy little "find" box that lets you type in a specific word. After you type in your search term, hit the Find Next button and Explorer will look for that word on the page. If it's successful, you'll be zapped right to it.

As if that wasn't cool enough, you can also use a variation of this tip in Windows Explorer. Next time you're looking for a file in Explorer, hit CRTL-F and you'll get a Find or Search box (depending on what flavor of Windows you're using).

If you are already in the area of your hard drive where you think the file is (say, My Documents), hit CTRL-F and your search will be set to look in the My Documents sfolder.

1. Some ISP's block port 25 so it might not work
2. Most likely, you won't be able to see what yer typing

First of all, you need an SMTP server. These are extremely common and, in fact, I'll provide one for you (mail.hotmail.com). SMTP: Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. This service runs on port 25 (in most cases) and is used to send outgoing email.

Now, open up the command prompt and telnet to mail.hotmail.com on port 25 (note: to see what you type, type telnet and enter then type in set local_echo):

code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
telnet mail.hotmail.com 25
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When yer connected type in (except what's in between *'s; you chose what will go in the []):

code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
helo
*wait*
mail from:[whoever]@[whoever.com]
*wait*
rcpt to:[whoever]@[whoever.com]
*wait*
data
*wait*
[write]
[whatever you want]
[in]
[as many]
[lines as wished]
.
*wait*
quit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Helo is just a handshake with the server. Ok, this should work...First of all, there is one great extension for DW & PHP ADODB object model that is free and great! Download it and install from www.interakt.ro its called PHAKT (NOT impakt, because its not free)
Install it and you will have another type of PHP ADODB document type
Start project with PHP ADODB (not old PHP MySQL)
Page 1
Create form that has one Editbox and one button.
Name Edit box smething like e.g. "search" without quotes.
That form should have form action="results.php" and type set to POST
Not, create Page 2 and name it results.php. Create new recordset in dw
like this
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE table.colum.you.r.searching LIKE '%colname%' OR table.other.column LIKE '%colname%' ORDER BY table.tableid
this means that we want to select ALL (*) records in table WHERE content of column is similar (Dav, will return Dave, David, Davidof...) to search keyword.
Next, in variables click + and add variable name colname default value set to % if you want to show all records if form is submited blank, or -1 if You want to show none if form is submited blank. Finaly for Run-time value type $HTTP_POST_VARS['search'] Runtime value is equal name of Edit box name you set up in first page...
Now, from bindings tab, select values and insert it on page, that You would like to show on page. Ill skip this part assuming You know how to format output and how to limit it but if you dont know ask in reply...
So now You have page with results. Test it and see if its working.
If it is, create page 3 and name it details.php. Now, select value from page that you want to link with details page and click on link. Select details.php page and click on parameters. For param name enter something like id since this should be PK in table and unique value, and for value click on lightning icon, and select primary key in your table. In live page link should be like details.php?id=<some_value>.
As for details page recordset it should look like
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE table.id = 'colname'
create vars as for page 2, but change Runtime to $HTTP_GET_VARS['id']
and format output on page. That should be it, but since im typing it in "realtime" maby i forgot something...
Home I did helped You

Just a little basic html tip for those who are trying to download an application from sites which has an paypal order page & link to start you off.

Use a proxy when you try this to hide your ip as some sites will record your ip when you connect for security.

1) Rightclick your mouse (ctrl+click) viewsource and open the source of the site in an a texteditor
2) Search for the word "return"
3) Next to it you can find the url for the thank you page
4) Copy the url and paste it in your browser and you will see the download link

This works only if you can download instantly after payment, it will not work if the link needs to be emailed to you.

You can try it here to start with:
Code:
http://www.ramphelp.com/halfpipe.html

About half way down the page you will find:

<input type="hidden" name="return" value="http://www.ramphelp.com/65984523/thanks/68912hp654/26865thankyouhp08363215423.html ">

Copy the link into your browser and download.

On an NTFS partition, Disk Cleanup can compress old files
to save space. But calculating the savings and performing
the compression often take a long time, and on some systems,
Disk Cleanup hangs during the process. If that happens, or if
you don't care to wait, use this Registry tweak to disable the
compression: Delete the key
HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Compress Old Files.

First, create a shortcut on your desktop by right-clicking on the desktop, choosing New, and then choosing Shortcut. The Create Shortcut Wizard appears. In the box asking for the location of the shortcut, type shutdown. After you create the shortcut, double-clicking on it will shut down your PC.

But you can do much more with a shutdown shortcut than merely shut down your PC. You can add any combination of several switches to do extra duty, like this:

shutdown -r -t 01 -c "Rebooting your PC"
Double-clicking on that shortcut will reboot your PC after a one-second delay and display the message "Rebooting your PC." The shutdown command includes a variety of switches you can use to customize it. Table 1-3 lists all of them and describes their use.

I use this technique to create two shutdown shortcuts on my desktop—one for turning off my PC, and one for rebooting. Here are the ones I use:

shutdown -s -t 03 -c "Bye Bye m8!"
shutdown -r -t 03 -c "Ill be back m8 ;)!"

Switch
What it does

-s
Shuts down the PC.

-l
Logs off the current user.

-t nn
Indicates the duration of delay, in seconds, before performing the action.

-c "messagetext"
Displays a message in the System Shutdown window. A maximum of 127 characters can be used. The message must be enclosed in quotation marks.

-f
Forces any running applications to shut down.

-r
Reboots the PC.
