Sophie's 1st Summer Camp...

So over the past 2 years Sophie's has made a great friend. Her name is Michelle. Michelle invited her to a week long Christian Summer camp. She was excited to go, but as most parents would attest, it was a bit nerve racking for us as this would be the 1st time she would be away from us (2 1/2 hours away) with anyone other than family. No phone access either. Eek. So after some research and much thought, we decided to let her go. Well it was all for the best. She got tons out of it and had a fabulous time, so it's likely to be a yearly event. Of course we had to be there for the drop off and pickup so feel free to check out the images. The whole camp had an Old West theme, complete with horses and shoot'em up performances. Overall... a really great experience for her.

Yeah weddings pretty much sucked the life out of me this summer so now that the season is over, I have time to post. As usual... lots of visuals to share.

Hi Folks,

A very busy wedding season has taken over my time and I've neglected to send out updates. I have been snapping away but too busy to post. Enough excuses. Ok, here we go.

Yeah I'm still in catch up mode. So as most of you know we just got a dog. His name is Lenny and he's a Boston Terrier. After much research we decided on the breed, found a high quality breeder, and at the end of November he came home with us. He's been really great is fitting in well with the family. The girls are nutso over him... of course.

So we took him for a short hike at a nearby park trail and I snapped some photos.

So over the last year we've been looking at our monthly budget and it's become increasingly obvious that we no longer need our home phone. Naysha and I both have cell phones and that is the primary way people reach us. So we did it. The phone service ends on 2/26.

So on a go forward basis if you need to reach me (Lou), my Verizon mobile phone number is 585-747-7474.

If you need to reach Naysha, her Verizon mobile phone number is 585-747-1118.

Corn Maze and Costumes...

Wow I really need to catch up here. More galleries from last year... so this post is gonna be a double feature.

First up Corn Maze. We live near some quaint local farms who go through a bit of effort to attract locals. One of them is Zarpentine's. Every year they create a gi-normous (Miranda's new favorite word) corn maze. It's a lot of fun. This year, the day before we went, we got a huge downpour, so basically it was a mudfest. We figured what the heck, let's get dirty, and did it anyways.

It's a big maze. There was just as much behind me as there was in front of me. It took us about 4 hours to complete.

Not bad considering all the mud.

And yes, we dressed up the girls for a little trick or treating. This year's theme was "China Girl". We got the outfits from Chinatown in San Francisco. They loved them!

Trip to San Francisco...

I don't usually enter raffles. But there was a raffle at work for a free trip to anywhere in the US. For some reason I felt an urge to enter...and you guessed it, I won! Needless to say I was excited. So Naysha and I quickly whipped up a vacation plan and decided on San Francisco. We figured if we could go anywhere, why not go as far as possible (Puerto Rico and Hawaii were not allowed). It was great to have some time away with Naysha. We ended up finding a nice hotel one small block from the ocean. We were right in the middle of the action and loved it. There were lots of street performers and things to see. And the food! Just amazing. Naysha and I joke around and say we "ate our way through San Francisco". It was really fantastic. I took a ton of pictures, so when you have time, take a peak.

Seneca Dog Show...

Last September (wow, that sounds like it was so long ago), we took a road trip to a dog show. The reason we went was to see our breeder in action, and to experience a real show 1st hand. We had a blast. We really had a lot of fun watching all of the different dog breeds. It really was quite an experience. Check out the gallery here.

Well I've got some pictures from summer that will hopefully remind you of what's to come. And yes, I'm that far behind in posting. I have a ton to share so I'll feed it to you slowly.

BTW, you'll probably notice that the photos in the emails are bigger now. I hope you enjoy it.

Ok, so take a look here for photos from the lake. The girls got into the water more ever before. With the help of swimming lessons, their confidence is building. Next year should be even better. There's lots of photos to see in the gallery (family photos, Labor Day weekend, Miranda's Birthday party, etc). Enjoy.

NASCAR!

So as I mentioned previously, we went on a little road trip to the Poconos with Heather and Joe to attend our 1st NASCAR race. Woohoo! Heather and Joe are seasoned NASCAR fans and taught us a lot about the sport. It's way deeper and more strategic than we thought. And the sound of the cars... holy smokes! It's LOUD! But in an awesome way. :) It rained cats and dogs on the day of the race so it got delayed an extra day. The race did happen and it was great time. I even got some photos of an excellent spin out. Thankfully nobody got hurt. So check out the photos when you get some time. More photos to come... I'm almost caught up.

My Birthday Dinner...

Hey Folks,

I don't usually make a big deal about my birthday. It usually comes and goes, and this FINE by me. :) Anyways this year I made a special request to my Mom to cook me a traditional Puerto Rican meal. She agreed and proceeded to create an absolutely amazing meal! And my buddy Brandon and his family also joined us. It was a great casual time and the meal is burned in my brain as one of the best EVER! Brandon did me a favor of snapping some family photos for us, so we finally have a nice photo of my parents and us. The entire gallery is here. Or view the slide show.

Corning Museum of Glass...

On my Birthday we had plans to hit Darien Lake Amusement Park, but rain was in the forecast. So last minute we decided to go to the Corning Museum of Glass. All I can say is...wow! I'll never look at glass the same way again. We watched as master glass makers brought molten glass to life. The pictures I took really provide just a touch of what is possible. Working with glass is truly an art form. Enjoy the photos.

Back in May, Miranda and Sophie finished up gymnastics. They LOVED it. They're quite physical by nature so getting to run and jump and tumble was right up there alley. Check out the pictures here.
