Ollie is pursuing $10 million that he believes he’s owed by the school.

Ollie’s legal team demands a retraction from the school, which recently released NCAA transcripts to media outlets in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.

The transcripts included a secondhand claim by former associate head coach Glen Miller that Ollie paid the mother of a former recruit $30,000 in exchange for her son’s commitment.

Ollie’s lawyers want a retraction from the school, claiming that the NCAA transcripts detailed false claims and confidential information that was protected by FOIA laws because it’s related to an ongoing investigation, in addition to personnel matters.

“UConn released the documents in direct response to a Freedom of Information request by Mr. Ollie’s own attorneys,” the school refuted, via ESPN.

“Other parties, including the media, also requested and received these same documents as required by Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in Connecticut. The FOIA, which governs public agencies such as the University, does not permit the selective release of public records to certain parties while denying those same records to others.”

“This false and defamatory claim was released without prior notice to Coach Ollie and no attempt was made by the University of Connecticut to protect Coach Ollie from this false and defamatory claim or to disavow it” Ollie’s legal team, Madsen, Prestley & Parenteau, said.

“The release of the confidential transcripts was coordinated to coincide with the publication of the news that Coach Ollie’s employment was terminated by you on June 19, 2018.”

Ollie’s claim that he’s still owed the $10 million remaining on his contract while the university contends that his alleged violations allowed them to fire him with cause and without any additional payments.

Ollie’s lawyers also claim that the claims made public in the media have hurt Ollie’s reputation.

“The defamatory allegation that Coach Ollie paid $30,000 to the mother of a student athlete published widely by the University of Connecticut constitutes not only defamation but also gives rise to the tort of false light invasion of privacy.”

“Everybody was trying to get involved,” BTI Prospects coach Robert Icart said, per 247Sports.”The plan is to do both right now and make a decision later”.

“I think his separation is superior to most guys that he plays against because of his physicalness and separation skills, he can always find space when he’s attacking and make a play,” Icart said. “It’s a unique thing and because of football he’s so competitive. He’s a dog.”

Hutto High School Quarterback Chase Griffin was born in Santa Monica’s UCLA Hospital and on Monday, June 15, he committed to UCLA to further his academic and football career.

He chose the Bruins over offers from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Yale, and others.

At UCLA, Griffin believes that his hard work on the field in competing for a starting job and playing at a high level after that should he win it is going to bode well for his NFL hopes. Off the field, with Los Angeles being a major business market, Griffin’s interest in business economics could prove to be lucrative as well.

“The coaching staff. Coach Kelly is one of the most if not the most creative minds in football. His success, which is facilitated through a quarterback-centric offense, speaks for itself at the collegiate and professional levels,” Griffin said about what put UCLA over the top.

Thank you to Coach Chip Kelly & the staff @UCLAFootball for the scholarship.
Eternally Grateful to my parents, @DilfersDimes @georgewhitfield & Joey Roberts.
S/O @CoachVanTheMan & staff, administrators, teachers & all of HippoNation.#AGTG #GoBruins #8Clap #Be11eve pic.twitter.com/hbLEqpSmE6

— Chase Griffin (@ChaseQB11) June 16, 2018

UCLA’s new quarterbacks’ coach as of January, Dana Bible, coached Super Bowl Champion Quarterback Russell Wilson and Arizona Cardinal Quarterback Mike Glennon.

“I’m extremely excited to be able to compete and play for Coach [Chip] Kelly’s staff. Coach Kelly, Coach Bible, and Coach Lewis are all extremely knowledgeable on the quarterback position and I know that I can grow as a player with them.”

Griffin has also had the opportunity to be mentored and coached by Trent Dilfer and George Whitfield who have stressed the importance of the competitive and operational aspects of the quarterback position. He said that has had a profound impact on how he competes now and how he will continue to do in the future.

“I am a confident competitor who works extremely hard on my craft to win games. I believe the coaching staff is recruiting and coaching players with a very similar motivated attitude as mine so I believe I suit the Bruins’ program well,” Griffin said.

When Chase Griffin sets foot in the weight room, locker room, practice field etc., as a UCLA Bruin, the respect he receives will be respect he earns whether it’s day one or further along in his career. If he holds true to his responsibilities as a quarterback, he believes the respect from his teammates and coaches will come early on.

“By competing every day for the starting position whether being the #1 or not. The goal doesn’t change either. Every year, the players’ goal is to win the PAC-12 and the CFB Playoffs.”

At this point in his high school football career, Chase Griffin recognizes that his faith has grown a great deal. At the same time, his work ethic and hunger growing have allowed for his game to flourish.

“My number one goal that’s left in 2018 is winning the State Championship. I am a senior and this is my last chance to compete with my high school teammates for a historic state championship for Hutto.”

Martin currently owns the NCAA record with 1,987 career victories to his name.

“There is no finer representative of Florida State University and no better champion of college baseball than Mike Martin,” FSU athletic director Stan Wilcox said in an official statement.

“His passion, dedication and demand for on-field success are as strong as they were the day he got the job, and I’m eager to watch what he and our team can accomplish next year. We will conduct a national search at the conclusion of the 2019 season.”

FSU has reached the NCAA tournament and won 40 games in every year of Martin’s tenure, and he has led them to 16 College World Series appearances.

“I’m glad that they want me to continue coaching next season and I thank all our former and current coaches, staff and most importantly our players for the consistent success of our baseball program,” Martin said in a statement. “You don’t win at our level without student-athletes who dedicate themselves to playing as a team and playing for something more than themselves.”
