Anyone who’s familiar with Boulevard Brewing here in Kansas City knows they’re not really one for self-promotion. They basically do what they do (brew great beer) really well and let that speak for them. Recently, I went on a brewery tour and they announced that they were looking for more brewery tour volunteers. I recently heard back from them on that topic so I began researching a little more. I found out that they have an official brewery blog and a YouTube channel. Maybe I was in the dark here but that seems like something that should get a little more promotion. For instance, did you know that the roof of the new brewhouse is a “green roof”? That’s it in the picture below. I’m amazed that isn’t common knowledge in Kansas City.

Regardless, you have to promote the blog and YouTube videos so that they’re seen by your audience. It’s not doing anyone any good just sitting out there waiting for someone to stumble onto it. I’m a huge fan of companies having blogs. I think it’s a great way to get information across in a much more relaxed venue. You just have to give it the chance to work for you.

If you’re a Boulevard Brewery fan or at least a beer fan, the blog is definitely worth checking out. In the meantime, here’s one of the videos from their YouTube Channel:

I’ll never forget the chicken sandwich that Beth had that literally tasted like pressed sawdust on a stale bun or the completely disinterested waitress that left halfway through our meal not to return.

The rumors are already starting to pop up though and they include possibly a Schlafly brew pub and I think a lot of people are hoping for a McCoy’s in the River Market. Honestly though, an empty building is better than what was coming out of the River Market Brewing Company so it’s already a win.

I feel that it’s pretty obvious that wasn’t a fumble at the end of the Super Bowl tonight. Kurt Warner was scrambling, got wrapped up and tried to throw a pass and while his hand was moving forward, the ball came out and was subsequently called a fumble…and the Super Bowl was over.

If they call it correctly, there’s a 15-yard penalty on Farrior, and they have one legitimate shot at the end zone. Instead, they decide that it’s not worth reviewing, let the Steelers snap the ball and 30 seconds later, the field is covered with photographers and confetti. This happens after Arizona perseveres past a few other bad calls that were just as detrimental including the roughing the passer call on Dansby which was borderline at best.

To me it was pretty obvious everyone wanted Golden Boy Roethlisberger to win and a fair game was the least of their concerns. Also, if you watch the Super Bowl for the commercials…this year’s game was a HUGE disappointment. See if there’s anything here really worth airing for $3 million.
