In today’s fast-paced economy, relying solely on active income, where you trade time for money, is no longer enough. What if your money, skills, or assets could keep working for you even while you sleep? That’s the power of passive income.

Contrary to popular belief, passive income isn’t “easy money.” It requires upfront effort, smart use of leverage (your time, capital, knowledge, or other people’s resources), and a solid system. But once established, these income streams can significantly boost your financial freedom, especially in the Philippine context, where demand for flexible, scalable ventures is rising.

In this comprehensive 2026 guide, we’ll explore 15 realistic passive income business ideas that don’t require you to be hands-on 24/7. These are practical, tested concepts perfect for part-timers, OFWs, students, or professionals looking to diversify their earnings.

? Note: None of these guarantee instant wealth. Success depends on your location, capital, execution, and consistency. But with the right strategy, any of these can evolve into a semi-automated or systemized business.

Why Passive Income Matters in the Philippines

The average Filipino worker earns a monthly salary that barely covers basic needs. Add inflation, emergencies, or job instability, and financial stress becomes inevitable.

Passive income changes the game. It allows you to:

Earn while focusing on your day job

Build multiple income streams

Achieve long-term wealth through compounding returns

Gain resilience against economic downturns

The key? Leverage. Use your existing assets—whether it’s a spare room, a motorcycle, a camera, or even your social media skills—and turn them into income-generating tools.

Now, let’s dive into the 15 best passive income business ideas in the Philippines for 2026.

1. Tables and Chairs Rental Business

Why it works: Filipinos love celebrations—birthdays, baptisms, weddings, fiestas. Every event needs seating and tables.

How to start: Begin with just 10 sets. Store them in your garage or backyard. Partner with local event organizers or post on Facebook Marketplace.

Passive potential: Once you have a system (e.g., delivery via third-party riders, online booking), you can scale with minimal daily involvement.

Tip: Offer bundled packages (tables + chairs + tents) for higher margins.

2. Car or Motorcycle Rental

Got an extra motor or car sitting idle? Turn it into an asset.

Ideal for: Tourist areas like Baguio, Boracay, or Cebu—where travelers prefer renting over public transport.

Requirements: Insurance, maintenance plan, and a simple rental agreement.

Scalability: Start with one unit. Reinvest profits to add more vehicles. Eventually, hire a manager to handle bookings and maintenance.

3. Vending Machine Business

Modern vending machines sell more than snacks—they offer coffee, water, SIM cards, and even Wi-Fi access.

Best locations: Schools, bus terminals, office lobbies, or near your sari-sari store.

Low maintenance: Restock weekly. Use cashless payment options (GCash, PayMaya) for convenience.

Profit tip: Place machines in high-foot-traffic zones. Track sales via IoT-enabled models.

4. Camera & Drone Rental

DSLRs, GoPros, drones, and Polaroids are expensive—but many only need them for special occasions.

Target market: Students, content creators, tourists, and event photographers.

Safety first: Require a deposit and signed liability waiver.

Growth path: Start with one camera. Add accessories (tripods, gimbals), partner with photo studios or tour guides.

5. Tricycle Boundary Business

Own a tricycle? Lease it to drivers on a daily boundary system.

How it works: Driver pays you a fixed amount per day (e.g., ?300–?500). They keep the rest.

Key considerations: Maintenance fund, franchise permit (frankisa), insurance, and route demand.

Real example: A former classmate started with one unit—now owns 10 tricycles after 5 years.

6. Photobooth Rental for Events

Photobooths are crowd magnets at weddings, debuts, and corporate parties.

Startup kit: Camera, printer, laptop, props, backdrop, and lighting.

Passive angle: Hire a staff to operate it. Use pre-designed templates to reduce setup time.

Upsell: Offer digital copies, custom hashtags, or GIF videos for extra fees.

7. Mobile Bar Service

Alcohol flows at Filipino parties—and a portable bar adds class and convenience.

You don’t need to be a bartender: Learn basic cocktail recipes or hire one.

Setup: Invest in a foldable bar cart, glassware, and permits (check local LGU rules).

Seasonal boost: Peak demand during Christmas, weddings, and summer events.

8. Food Cart Business (Event-Focused)

Street food never goes out of style—especially at events with long queues and hungry guests.

Popular items: Takoyaki, milk tea, kwek-kwek, fries, or loaded nachos.

Flexibility: Operate at weekend markets, school fairs, or private events.

Next level: Once proven profitable, franchise your brand

9. Franchising Your Own Food Cart

Once your food cart gains traction, let others replicate your success—for a fee.

How it works: Franchisees pay an initial fee + monthly royalty for your brand, recipes, and system.

Requirements: Proven profitability, standardized operations, and training materials.

Warning: Don’t franchise too early. Ensure your model is replicable and sustainable.

10. Party & Entertainment Rentals

Go beyond tables—rent out inflatables, ball pits, slides, or mini pools for kids’ parties.

Parents love this: Saves them time, effort, and DIY stress.

Bundling strategy: Offer packages with mascots, clowns, or magicians (partner with freelancers).

Storage tip: Use a small warehouse or garage. Label everything for quick setup.

11. Content Creation (YouTube, TikTok, etc.)

Your phone + Wi-Fi = potential passive income.

Monetization paths:

Ad revenue (YouTube Partner Program)

Brand sponsorships

Affiliate marketing (e.g., Shopee, Lazada links)

Selling digital products (e-books, courses)

Key: Consistency + niche expertise (e.g., cooking, tech reviews, comedy skits).

Passive upside: One viral video can earn for years.

12. Outdoor Gear Rental

Camping, hiking, and biking are trending—especially among Gen Z and millennials.

Rent out: Tents, sleeping bags, mountain bikes, kayaks, or snorkel gear.

Location matters: Near tourist spots like Tagaytay, La Union, or Batangas.

Permits: Secure LGU or DENR permits if operating in protected areas.

13. Gown & Costume Rental

Why buy a P5,000 gown for one debut when you can rent one for P800

High-demand events: JS proms, weddings, Halloween, and theater plays.

Start small: Use a spare room as a walk-in closet. Clean and steam items after each use.

Pro tip: Partner with event planners for steady bookings.

14. Lights and Sound System Rental

No Filipino party is complete without loud music and colorful lights.

Rent out: Speakers, microphones, LED lights, videoke machines.

Bonus: Set up a mini recording studio at home for singers or podcasters.

Ideal clients: Churches, schools, barangay fiestas, and birthday hosts.

15. Automated Car Wash & Laundry Shop

Traditional car washes and laundromats are evolving.

Modern twist: Install self-service vending-style machines for washing and drying.

Benefits:

Minimal staffing needed

24/7 operation potential

High demand near condos, dorms, and subdivisions

Success factor: Focus on quality service to build loyal customers.

Common Threads: What Makes These Businesses Work?

All 15 ideas share key traits: Leverage existing assets (space, vehicles, skills)

– Scalable with systems (hiring, automation, partnerships)

– Event or season-driven demand (predictable income peaks)

– Low daily oversight once systemized

But remember: Risk is real. Equipment can break. Seasons change. Competition rises. That’s why research, testing, and customer feedback are non-negotiable.

How to Choose the Right Passive Income Business for You

Ask yourself:

What assets do I already own? (car, camera, space)

What skills do I have? (bartending, sewing, video editing)

How much capital can I invest? (?5k vs ?100k changes options)

Am I willing to learn and adapt?

Start small. Test one idea. Track results. Scale what works.

Final Thoughts: Passive Income? No Work

True passive income is earned passively. You work hard upfront to build systems—then enjoy the rewards over time.

The majority of businesses fail. But the successful ones learn, adjust, and keep going. So don’t wait for the “perfect” moment. Pick one idea from this list. Take the first step today.

When I look back on my journey as an entrepreneur, it feels like I’ve walked through every possible business model you can imagine. Some of them were complete disasters, others brought steady but modest returns, and a few finally gave me the freedom and stability I was searching for.

This is the story of how I went from chasing quick wins in dead-end schemes to building business models that actually work. I share it because maybe, just maybe, someone else can skip a few of the painful lessons I had to learn the hard way.

The Early Days: My Foray Into the Wrong Kinds of Businesses

My first attempt at “running a business” wasn’t really a business at all—it was multi-level marketing. A close friend convinced me it was the path to financial freedom. “All you need to do is bring in three people, who bring in three people, and soon you’ll be earning six figures from home,” they said.

In reality, I ended up with boxes of overpriced supplements, awkward conversations with friends I tried to recruit, and a sinking realization that the only people making money were the ones at the very top. It stung, but it was a valuable lesson: if success depends more on recruitment than real value, you’re in trouble.

From there, I moved on to dropshipping. I set up a Shopify store, filled it with random trending gadgets, and threw money into Facebook ads. I thought it was my ticket to easy online income. Instead, it drained my savings faster than I care to admit. Poor margins, customer complaints, delayed shipping—it was a nightmare.

Lesson from these failures?

Not every “opportunity” is really a business. Some models are just traps designed to exploit impatience and inexperience.

The Middle Ground: Stable, But Stagnant

After those early blunders, I shifted to something more straightforward: freelancing. I started offering graphic design services to small businesses. The first time I got paid to design a logo, it felt incredible. I was using my skills, helping people, and making money at the same time.

But freelancing quickly revealed its limits. I was trading hours for dollars, and the moment I stopped working, the income dried up. It was exhausting to constantly chase clients, deliver projects, and manage revisions.

To escape the feast-or-famine cycle, I tried starting a small agency. I hired a couple of assistants and began offering social media management to local businesses. It worked better than freelancing, and I enjoyed having a small team. But soon, I hit another wall: growth was limited by how much time and manpower we had. Scaling meant hiring more people, managing more stress, and putting out more fires.

The lesson here?

These models can be a great starting point. They teach you about discipline, service, and customer management. But they’re tough to scale and often lead to burnout if you’re not careful.

The First Taste of Scalability

At some point, I began asking myself a different question: What can I build once that will keep earning for me again and again?

That question led me to digital products. My first real success was an online course teaching small business owners how to design simple graphics for their social media. Recording the videos was nerve-wracking, and the first version of my sales page looked amateurish. But to my surprise, people bought it.

For the first time, I experienced what leverage feels like. I created the course once, and it kept generating income even when I wasn’t actively working on it. It wasn’t life-changing money yet, but it showed me the power of scalability.

Around the same time, I experimented with affiliate marketing. I started writing blog posts reviewing tools I was already using and added affiliate links. Some days the commissions were small—$20 here, $50 there—but the idea of earning money while I slept was mind-blowing.

These models opened my eyes. They proved that with the right approach, I could separate my time from my income.

Finally Finding What Works

The real breakthroughs came when I discovered the magic of subscriptions and platform-style businesses.

I launched a membership site for small business owners. Members paid a small monthly fee to access resources, templates, and group coaching calls. I was terrified people would sign up and cancel after one month, but to my surprise, many stayed. As the community grew, so did the predictability of my income. For the first time, I wasn’t waking up each month wondering how I’d make ends meet.

Later, I worked on building a marketplace platform connecting freelancers with small businesses. It was tough to get off the ground, but once we hit critical mass, the growth became self-sustaining. The beauty of marketplaces is that they create network effects: more sellers attract more buyers, and more buyers attract more sellers.

Lesson from this stage?

If you want lasting stability and serious growth, you need to build systems with recurring revenue or network effects. They’re hard at the start, but they pay off for years.

What I Learned Along the Way

Looking back, I see my journey as a staircase. Each step had its own purpose, even if it wasn’t profitable at the time.

The dead-end businesses taught me to avoid hype and focus on delivering real value.

Freelancing and small agencies taught me discipline, client management, and the importance of systems.

Digital products and affiliate marketing taught me the power of leverage and scalability.

Subscriptions and platforms taught me how to build long-term, sustainable income.

If I could go back, I’d tell myself: Stop chasing shortcuts. Build something real. Focus on models that can grow without chaining every dollar to your time.

Final Thoughts

Entrepreneurship isn’t about finding the perfect business model on day one. It’s about learning, testing, failing, and climbing your way up through the different stages. Every failure brings a lesson, and every small win gets you closer to what actually works.

Today, I’m grateful for all the wrong turns because without them, I wouldn’t have discovered the beauty of recurring revenue or the power of scalable platforms.

If you’re in the messy middle of your own journey, my advice is simple: keep going. Experiment. Learn. Adjust. The models that last aren’t always the flashiest—they’re the ones that deliver consistent value, grow sustainably, and give you the freedom you’ve been looking for all along.

The highest-ever number of cities are joining WWF-Philippines’ One Planet Cities (OPC) program marking a significant growth in the Philippines urban sustainability movement since it started 10 years ago.

“We are seeing an almost double growth in the number of cities that joined the program, from 15 cities in the 2023-2024 cycle to 28 in the 2025-2026 cycle. This is the highest number of cities in the Philippines that are making a strong commitment to sustainable urban development,” Atty. Gia Ibay, Climate and Energy Programme (CEP) Head, said in a statement.

“The increasing number of cities that are recognizing the importance of reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and advocating for sustainable development is a clear sign. The call for all sectors to unite and take action for the climate is not just a necessity, but an urgent one, especially now as we mark our 10th anniversary,” she added.

Of the 28 cities leading the charge, 17 are returning, while 11 are joining for the first time.

Luzon:

Returning – Baguio City, Batangas City, Legazpi City, Makati City, Malolos City, Naga City, Puerto Princesa City, San Fernando City (La Union), Santa Rosa City

New – Balanga City, Calapan City, Carmona City, Laoag City, Ligao City, Tayabas City

Visayas:

Returning – Catbalogan City, La Carlota City, Ormoc City, San Carlos City (Negros Occidental)

New – Bacolod City, Iloilo City

Mindanao:

Returning – Cagayan de Oro City, Davao City, Dipolog City, Tagum City

New – Butuan City, Island Garden City of Samal, Oroquieta City

The significant increase in the number of participating cities was helped in part by the support of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP), which endorsed the OPC program to its member cities. The LCP’s endorsement has been instrumental in spreading awareness and encouraging more cities to join the program, demonstrating the power of collaboration in driving sustainable urban development.

Since 2015, WWF-Philippines has been implementing the global WWF OPC program and its flagship One Planet City Challenge (OPCC) – a biennial, global challenge that assists cities to act as transformation catalysts, implementing integrated and inclusive plans in line with the 1.5°C, while ensuring urban climate resilience and unlocking individual and collective climate actions. OPCC is the longest and largest friendly competition since 2011, engaging a total of 900 cities all over the globe.

“A decade into the OPC journey in the Philippines, we are inspired by the continued commitment of our partner cities and we are proud to witness more cities stepping up to lead climate action. Urban areas are significant in the reduction of carbon emissions while fostering collaboration with stakeholders and governments, which is vital in driving inclusive, adaptive, and science-based climate solutions at the local level,” Imee Bellen, Project Manager of One Planet Cities, said.

For OPCC, all participating cities will report their climate actions, strategies, and data through a standardized international platform, which is reviewed by WWF and compared against good-practice, climate-action-planning criteria guided by the OPCC Assessment Framework.

Each participating city will then receive a tailor-made “Strategic Feedback Report,” which shows the city’s climate journey, its alignment with the Paris Agreement, the alignment of the city’s goals and targets versus their actual initiatives, and providing further recommendations on the most effective actions to meet such targets.

A “Localized Feedback Assessment Report” that takes into consideration the national context, including policies, geographical location, and financial viability, will be provided by WWF-Philippines, with the assistance of the ICLEI Southeast Asia Secretariat (ICLEI-SEAS).

A key addition to this 2025-2026 cycle is the launch of WWF’s Strategic Support Program (SSP)—a new initiative designed to provide cities with structured learning opportunities and guidance to strengthen their climate strategies. Through a dynamic mix of webinars, practical guides, and group-based coaching, the SSP will equip cities with tools and insights to help them develop, communicate, and track science-based climate action.

Locally, WWF-Philippines will also deliver relevant activities to assist cities in reporting climate data and improving local climate plans and actions. This support will be provided through a series of capacity-building workshops and consultations throughout the two-year local implementation of the program.

Additional activities are also planned to actively engage a diverse range of urban stakeholders, including youth, educators, private organizations, and city representatives. To kick off their 2025-2026 OPC engagement, a workshop with these 28 Philippine cities will be conducted in the 3rd week of June.

Switching to solar power has traditionally been a complex and expensive process, often requiring professional installation and significant upfront costs. But Robinsun is changing the game with its innovative plug-and-play solar kits, designed to make clean energy accessible to everyone — no roof required.

These kits are simple enough for anyone to install, helping users cut costs and accelerate their switch to solar power. Installation takes just a few minutes, and the system begins generating electricity immediately. By skipping professional installation, homeowners can save significantly on setup costs and enjoy the benefits of renewable energy sooner.

Cutting-Edge Technology for Maximum Efficiency
Robinsun’s kits utilize premium components typically found in professionally installed systems, including bifacial solar panels that generate power on both sides. This advanced design boosts energy production by up to 30%, ensuring higher efficiency and faster returns on investment.

Durability is another key feature of Robinsun’s kits. Thanks to their top-tier materials, the panels maintain their efficiency over time, backed by an impressive 30-year production guarantee. For customers, this means reliable energy savings for decades.

The kits are also highly versatile, making them an ideal choice for those without traditional roof access. Whether placed on balconies, terraces, or sunny walls, Robinsun’s solar kits provide flexible options for urban living and other unconventional setups.

A Mission to Tackle Climate Change
Robinsun’s founder, Boris Hageney, created the company with a clear mission: to make a tangible impact in the fight against climate change. “It feels wonderful to know that every solar kit that leaves our warehouse will have such a positive impact on a family somewhere, for a long time, and at the same time help us to lower our carbon footprint significantly every day,” Hageney shared.

Looking Ahead: Expanding the Vision
Currently, Robinsun is raising funds to support its growth and broaden its product offerings. According to Hageney, this investment will enable the company to evolve beyond solar kits and become a one-stop shop for comprehensive residential energy solutions.

By simplifying solar adoption and making renewable energy more accessible, Robinsun is paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.

Filipinos face a heightened risk of cyberthreats when they browse pirate sites, underscoring the need to urgently pass legislation allowing site blocking in the Philippines.

The study, commissioned by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and authored by Dr. Paul Watters of Macquarie University, found that Filipinos are up to 33 times more likely to encounter cyber threats on popular pirate websites compared to legitimate film and TV platforms.

These findings were presented at an anti-piracy symposium organized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), GMA Networks, Inc., and Globe.

Watters cited how high internet and mobile data usage in the Philippines makes Filipinos an attractive target for pirates. He said pirate sites provide a platform for criminals to harvest customer data more easily than hacking into websites to get data. Unfortunately, consumers in the Philippines use pirate sites unaware of their inherent dangers, including exposing their data.

With such consumer vulnerabilities, Watters underscored the need to put in place measures to ensure compliance and build awareness on the threats that lurk in pirate sites.

“Site-blocking of the most popular pirate sites is the most effective baseline option,” he said in a fireside chat.

Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, cited the urgency for Congress to amend the Philippines’ outdated Intellectual Property Code to strengthen enforcement against content piracy, particularly authorizing site-blocking. All progress on amending bills will be lost once the current congressional ends and new leaders take office after the 2025 elections.

“At Globe, we champion a digital world that is safe and empowering for all Filipinos. This study underscores how critical it is to pass legislation that would authorize site blocking to protect consumers, especially our youth, from the hidden dangers lurking on pirate sites,” said Crisanto.

“We urge Congress to pass this vital piece of legislation before the end of their session to avoid further delays and safeguard the digital well-being of our nation,” she added.

Stars weigh in

Some of the country’s biggest celebrities came together and rallied behind the call for stronger enforcement against content piracy.

In a fireside chat moderated by TV host Pia Guanio, her fellow Team Globe of Good Ambassadors Edu Manzano, Shaina Magdayao, and Kim Atienza talked about how piracy has effectively crippled the entertainment industry.

Manzano, actor and former head of the Optical Media Board, recalled the time when the Philippine film industry produced over 200 films per year. Because of piracy, this number is down to less than 30 per year, leaving many industry workers out of jobs.

“It was a tough time because we could not find work for over 9,000 unemployed workers in our industry. We saw the direct effect. Sad to say people show up in the office to ask for a buck or two,” said Manzano, recalling the toll of piracy when the crime first emerged.

“To this day, I have to say that the industry has not recovered,” said Manzano.

He cited the urgency of passing legislation with strong penal provisions to clamp down on piracy, keeping in mind that this crime is borderless.

“Right now, with the way it’s going, I personally feel that we need legislation. We have to pressure like-minded members of the House of Representatives and the Senate and let them realize that laws become flawed soon after they pass because technology advances at an amazing pace,” Manzano said.

Magdayao, among the most prominent actresses of her generation, meanwhile, said piracy has discouraged investments in the entertainment industry, limiting the great potential of Filipino creatives.

“At the end of the day, to be honest, as a worker myself, show business is a “business.” If walang ROI ang producers and investors because people are not willing to go to the cinemas anymore or pay legit streaming channels, producers won’t be investing in our talent and work anymore or even funds to train, educate and hone the talents of emerging filmmakers in the country,” Magdayao said.

““Lagi ko rin niyayabang sa foreign producers whenever I attend International festivals na maganda ang Pilipinas. We have beautiful locations, beautiful people and talents ….. but how will we, as talents and as an industry grow and expand if no one invests? Piracy limits Filipinos from reaching global cinema na kayang-kaya naman sana natin, given the proper opportunity, help and support,” she said.

Globe has been a consistent advocate for a safer and more responsible digital space. As a proud member of the AVIA-CAP and the Video Coalition of the Philippines, Globe actively supports legislative efforts to curb online piracy, such as the pending Senate bills aimed at strengthening site-blocking provisions within the Intellectual Property Code.

Globe believes the creative industry must be more stringently protected to ensure a sustainable future for content creators and consumers. Its long-going #PlayItRight campaign raises public awareness on the perils of content piracy and advocates for stronger protection of the country’s Php 1.6-billion industry.

Bamboo is a remarkable plant, capable of growing up to three feet a day and producing 35% more oxygen than trees of a similar size. However, greenwashing remains a threat to the industry, particularly as some products labeled as bamboo are actually bamboo plastic composites and are not biodegradable.

To address these concerns and ensure clear sustainability credentials, Bambrew, a winner of Zomato’s 2024 Packathon Challenge, has developed a multi-purpose sustainable packaging solution suitable for textiles and foods. Made from a fully biodegradable mix of bamboo, sugarcane, and seaweed, Bambrew’s packaging is grease- and water-resistant, heat-sealable, compostable, and includes a printable surface.

The material is strong yet flexible and can be either see-through or opaque. For e-commerce uses, the packaging is more rigid and resembles brown paper. For foods, whether those with a long shelf life or hot takeaways, the grease-proof, water-proof aspect of the packaging makes it an ideal replacement for single-use, non-recyclable plastics. The printable surface allows brands to advertise and label their goods as needed.

Bambrew’s packaging is handmade in India, with the company working with local communities to build and strengthen local economies through sustainable bamboo production and manufacturing. In one year, the company’s products helped reduce carbon emissions from plastic packaging production and use by 125,000 tonnes.

Application in the Philippines

Given the Philippines’ significant environmental challenges related to plastic waste, Bambrew’s packaging presents an excellent opportunity for sustainable development. The country’s rich bamboo resources can be utilized to create local manufacturing hubs, boosting the economy and providing employment while reducing reliance on non-recyclable plastics.

Bambrew’s packaging solution can be particularly beneficial for the Philippines’ food industry, which heavily relies on single-use plastics. The water- and grease-resistant properties of Bambrew’s packaging make it ideal for both street food vendors and established restaurants, ensuring that food remains fresh and intact during delivery and consumption. Moreover, the printable surface offers businesses the opportunity to brand their products, enhancing marketing efforts and customer engagement.

By adopting Bambrew’s biodegradable packaging, the Philippines can significantly reduce plastic pollution, support local industries, and promote a more sustainable future.

Over 100 Maranao entrepreneurs recently learned how to create engaging content and promote their businesses and products via e-commerce during a training organized by PLDT and its wireless unit, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), in partnership with the provincial government of Lanao del Sur.

“We have been partnering with the local government of Lanao del Sur for several years now, and we at PLDT and Smart are quite happy to work with like-minded organizations whose goals are aligned with ours. We will continue to create and implement more programs to help bring the Maranao people into the digital economy,” said Judee D. Chaves, Mindanao Relations Head at PLDT and Smart.

The initiative is part of PLDT and Smart’s eBizNovation program, aimed at boosting livelihood opportunities for Micro-, Small-, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives through technology, and helping them succeed in the digital age.

“These days, e-commerce is the way to go, but here in the province, it is not yet widely used. With this training, we want to introduce this platform to our Maranao entrepreneurs and enhance their skills so that they will have the capability to reach more markets nationwide,” said Provincial Cooperative Officer Ashadie Alonto.

In Lanao del Sur, the eBizNovation program has become an avenue for various women-led enterprises to upskill and improve their businesses. Aslia Dimaocom, chairman of Pinduguan Farm Producer Cooperative, is among the repeat participants of the program. Having learned the basics of social media marketing during PLDT and Smart’s first training program in 2022, Dimaocom has further expanded her skills with the latest training and can now create content and use online platforms.

“I am thankful to have participated in PLDT and Smart’s training program for the second time because using an e-commerce platform would have been difficult for me without the lessons on how to create content,” she said.

PLDT and Smart’s eBizNovation program aims to leverage digital technologies to develop and improve the lives and livelihoods of communities across the country. These efforts are part of the group’s commitment to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
