It was not an easy decision.
Discovery was using intensively unofficial APIs and using these APIs was becoming harder and harder with new macOS versions.

To work properly, Deskovery had to control other applications and with SIP (System Integrity Protection) not was becoming close to impossible.

We no more wanted to ask you to run your system without SIP because we want you and your data to be safe under all circumstances.

During these 2 years, I had a lot of requests to bring it back. Unfortunately, I have no solution available.

It however started to occupy some mental space in my mind. Over the months, I started to have ideas to provide a good user experience without compromising security.

Last year I started to rewrite Deskovery from scratch, using modern API.

I also wanted to provide all the features we can expect from a such tool (Dark mode, Apple Silicon optimization,..)

It took more than one year.

Today, I am pleased to announce that we are close to releasing a beta version of Deskovery 4.
