Daun nilam

Bunga kemboja (biasanya warna putih)
Bunga cempaka
Limau purut - ambil kulitnya sahaja dan hiris halus-halus
Setelah dihiris halus-halus, bolehlah digaul dan hias ikut suka. Mengikut resepi tu lagi, lagi banyak bunga-bunga wangi macam bunga sundal malam, lagi bagus.

Tips yang saya pernah dengar daripada B.Puan T, dia kata ada makcik tu letak gel rambut lelaki, supaya bunga rampai tu berkilat.

Tips yang saya boleh bagi berdasarkan pengajaran yang saya belajar masa buat bunga rampai abang saya dulu, jangan campur kelopak bunga terus dengan daun pandan. Pasal masa kita nak letak air mawar/ pewangi bunga rampai kat daun pandan, benda-benda tu ada asas alkohol jadi kalau terkena dengan kelopak bunga, kelopak bunga akan jadi lebam dan teramat tak cantik! Kalau air tu kena kat daun pandan, tak apa pasal warna asas daun pandan memang hijau jadi tak ketara. Kalau boleh, ratakan air pewangi dulu dalam daun pandan. Kemudian tutup dengan plastik [rujuk gambar pertama di atas]. Kelopak bunga tu campurkan esok hari sahaja.

Planning for my Bridal Shower cum 26th Bdae Celebration

Well, its not in our Malay Muslim custom to host bridal showers for brides-to-be. However, i wana have one just for the fun of it! Also, to make it much more memorable, i plan to have it on 15th February 2013, when i turn 26! (also the fact that it is after V-day, tho im NOT celebrating it) And it is just abt 2 wks before the wedding day, so not too soon, not too late.

I have a good friend, Gerald Teo, whom I know from my tertiary school days. I still keep in touch wit him. And HE is going to help make this happen!! Yes, he made this possible for me, and realise my 'dream'. I WANA HOST THE EVENT AT MARINA BAY SANDS HOTEL!!! huhuuu.. He used to work there, in Reservations, and since he has connections there, he is helping me to get the place. Not too early for booking, he says! Coz its gona be a high demand for MBS room bookings. So, I'm playing it safe. ;)

Disappointed but wat to do. =(

Will have to revamp ma plan and budget. Will have to seek for another venue, closer to home.

So, i hav told Aidil abt ma plan to hold ma wedding dinner + reception @ Fort Canning. at first he was negative abt it saying tat its expensive n all , sure hav Plus Plus Plus.. bt wen i tried to convince him, he was okay n in fact he was xcited abt it! hehe.

Wedding Favors

I have already chosen the wedding favors! Believe it or not..
Yes, our wedding is still 1 year and 4 months' away. But I have looked around for the cheapest yet cool wedding favors for our guests.

My budget for the wedding favors initially was for 800 ppl at $500 in total. However, I fail to do a reality check. I will need to search for the gift box or organza bag to fill the item. And purchasing the items is a separate thing. So, $500 is impossible!

Nonetheless, it doesnt stop me from coming close to the stipulated budget. Checking through my Wedding Budget Excelsheet, I feel that the wedding favors for 800 ppl is unnecessary. Invitation cards - 250 pcs fr an estimated 600 ppl max. So, I am reducing the quantity of the wedding favors from 800 to 600 units.

BIG QUESTION IS: WHAT IS THE WEDDING FAVOR??

I found a cute box design to contain the items. Its a Maple Leaf Favor Box.

The good thing is, shipments for both is FREE! Only bad is, i think the items will only reach me in 3-4weeks' time. So best is to order them 3 months' before my wedding day, and stuffing and packing within the next 2 months. Just nice.

TOTAL EXPENSES for the wedding favors + favor boxes: US$416.96

Basically Im almost there! Instead of having to spend over S$1000 for wedding favors only, I managed to find alternatives to cut down on the purchases. Once I have all my funds ready, I will purchase them and keep in the store (in my case, under the bed) till its time to bring them out for packaging!

Updates on Wedding Preps

Dear Nepz!

I've decided to increase the amt of pax frm 650 to 800 fr catering. ~~And the invitation cards frm 250 to 300 cards.~~ Im gona get Issadiweddings' svcs fr deco at MPH, in-house dias, bridal room deco, as well as gifts deco. Im also taking under Charisma Bridal the kendarat (svc crew) n the wedding cake, apart frm the catering.

Hmm.. I stil dun quite like the idea of having a combined wedding reception w his sister n bro in law. Bt tats wat his family wants. So instead of complaining, i wil look into wat i cn do n make it a smooth n successful wedding fr me nonetheless!
Im thinking of these 3 options:

(a) nikah on 01.03.2013, wedding dinner on 02.03.2013, reception on 03.03.2013. Reason being his sis/mom chose to hv the nikah on 02.03 thus a real challenge to hold 2 nikahs on the same day.....cuz it'll b chaotic on his side, to rush here n there.

(b) embrace the challenge! To hv 2 nikahs on the same day, also to save cost on hvg 3 days fr mi! Intention is to hold the nikah fr us first in da mrng, followed by his sis'.. N den wedding dinner at ma side. Reception on 03.03 wud b as usual practice.

(c) to hold ma nikah aftr asar, followed by dinner at ma place on 02.03, n normal reception on 03.03.

Hope ma fiance n i gt to settle on tis soonest so i cn cnfm on the plan n proceed w booking it w the diff vendors!

Jakarta Trip

Hye Nepz! Im here to update..! Yayyy!!

As the subject goes..i had went fr a short trip to JKT fr the first tym ever on 5th - 7th Oct '11. 3d2n..wit ma baby sis Lala. She had wanted a getaway so badly, so we planned everythg quite abruptly.

Our first day: 5th Oct
~ we took the mrng flight wit Tiger Airways n reached Soekarno-Hatta Int'l Airport ard 10am.
~ two male adults frm Intercontinental Hotel were kind enough to assist us to contact our hotel staff to infrm of our arrival n tat no airport transfer was arranged, altho requested thru Agoda booking. Nonetheless, they accompanied us fr breakfast n ushered us to the taxi area aftrwards. Great companion, friendly, willing to help. Definitely somethg memorable to note on their hospitability.
~ our hotel fr the day was Putri Duyung Ancol Hotel. We were so impressed wit the whole place! It covers the whole island or 'danau' n the different cottages, themes, parks n playgrounds creates the whole neighbourhood atmosphere. U cn even find a mosque in the centre of the place! The themed hotel stay was somethg tat caught our attention in the frst place. We had chosen to stay in the Kole-kole (which was a boat-themed cottage) facing the Java Sea. The view was simply awesome n we had a v pleasant stay. Hotel staffs were friendly n has efficient service! We didnt reli get the chance to go out as we had slpt aftr we checked in. Anyways, we just planned to rest n relax on our first day in the hotel..
~ Overall, we loved it n left the place feeling v relaxed n satisfied!

The second day: 6th Oct
~ aftr the complimentary breakfast, we packed our stuff, n gt ready to check out at noon. Spent the last hr in our boat enjoying the view.
~ cab fetched us frm the reception area. N tats wen we met Nanang. Our driver was Nanang Krisnoyo, a 24 yr old chap. He was v quiet in the frst place bt offered to play sum Dangdut Disco songs frm the CD. Fr those songs which we knew, we wud sing along to it.
~ the road was v terrible ard the aftrnn tym n was like a massive jam! We learnt somethg new, "macet". Tats traffic jam in Bahasa Indonesia.
~ while sightseeing n taking snaps of the Bandar, Nanang offered to bring us to the Monas, "Monumen Nasional". He brought us there n also briefly told us of its history. The weather was hot at tat tym. He had bought fr us a mineral water w/o us realising it, n its fr us! While walking along, there was a stranger who came up to us n wanted to snap a pic of us. I felt kinda awkward cuz why out of a sudden wud a stranger come up to take picture of u... He was trying to pick up a conversation wit us. Apparently he n his fren was frm Sulawesi. Wateva questions he asked to us, Nanang answered fr himself. N in the end saying tat mi n sis were his sch mates. So tat they wudnt hav the chance to do anythg more den tat..phew! Mi n Lala called Nanang as our 'saviour'. We had also gone up the Monas tower to see the view frm above. Nanang had been nice, paid fr our entrance fees first cuz i left ma purse in ma backpack which was left in the cab boot.
~ it was ard 3pm n we went on to our search fr the nxt hotel..it was Fave Hotel Wahid Hasyim. Nanang had a hard tym searching fr tat place. He had asked ard wit so many ppl..even told us to rest first during the journey.. Not a single tym did he complain abt difficulty finding the place despite the hot weather n the horrendous jam. We reli see hw he struggled thru n sympathised him. I tink wen we finally reached the hotel, i had paid him quite a fair bit, just as a token of appreciation, fr 'saving' us, bringing us ard, n of coz goin thru so much trouble to send us to our hotel. He even offered to fetch us frm the hotel the nxt day wen we check out!
~ fucktards!! Ok... Dun b panic just yet. The reason fr tis shout was bcoz it reli pissed us off fr the long waiting tym to check into the hotel. Ma sis n i hadta wait 1.5hrs at the lobby! 2 grps of ppl came aftr us n waited too. BUT, they got in first!!! Grrrr.
~ wun complain much, hotel n room was clean n new. Had a short walk dwn the streets at Tanah Abang but couldnt find anythg to buy! Its a run dwn place, like pasar malam. N they have live sheeps there for sale. The whole place was closing already at ard 5plus in the evening. In the end we gt bck to our hotel n had dinner there. It was just abt 6pm n already dark.

Our last day in JKT: 7th Oct
~ no breakfast! Fucktards!!!
~ slpt. N slpt. Bathed at ard 11 n checked out at 1pm. Kept our bags in the hotel reception area n we walked to the nearest Sarinah Mall as suggested by the receptionist.
~ finally the proper place to shop n dine! Too bad we didnt walk tat way the day b4... Hmmz.
~ bought some traditional jamu n random items..
~ brunch @ Chilis' Restaurant. Fuhh! Delicious mexican food. We had packed a pc of Fajita roll n an Ice Lemon Tea to giv to Nanang ltr.
~ nanang fetched us frm outside the restaurant, n den back to hotel to get our backpacks, n den to anthr bigger mall similar to ION to shop! All the big brands were there. N of coz, xpensive. I tot Nanang looked shocked wen he saw us buying the items at Toko Renda.
~ aftr tat it was tym fr sendoff. Pretty sad to finally leave. Had met a friendly driver, like a tour guide, like a fren, like a companion. Mi n sis had decided to pay him (dun b shocked) TWICE of wat i paid him the day b4. All coz of his sincerity, been v helpful n patient, etc..
~ goodbye Jakarta, goodbye Nanang.

Decor Theme

Hi nepz!! Hope u r doin fine. Im ryte nw typing tis entry while lying on ma bed to share some ideas which I had, b4 it disappears frm ma mind the nxt thg wen i wakes up.
Its too early to confirm on the theme but den agn, no harm in xpressing ma thoughts nw. At least i cn compare n contrast btwn diff ideas in future!
So, fr nw..i quite like the idea of having a Greek Colonade as the dias. And since im taking Issadiweddings decor, im intending to have a fusion on both styles to make it a more unique design! Color wise, im thinking of white n gold as the main color.. While minimally adding in a splash of other colors like green, red, yellow, beige n brown to represent the nature, eg. floras.
Kay i guess tis much i shall share. Cuz im getting more slpy. Ooouh!! Wen is the tym tat i cn gt to discuss abt ma wedding decor?!!

Nenek Esah tlah kembali ke Rahmatullah pada 21.09.2011. Sedih dan pilu rasanya. Arwah seorang yg baik dan penyayang, walaupun arwah hanyalah mak angkat kpd abah. Kami sekeluarga juga sayang kpd nya. Ku turut berasa terharu kerana sempat bersua dgn nya pada hari pertunangan ku dan juga pada Aidilfitri tahun ini. Tidak pernah terduga bahwa masanya akan tiba. Tetapi ajal maut adalah ketentuan ilahi. Semoga roh arwah nenek Esah Binte Kasim sentiasa dirahmati Allah swt dan ditempatkan dgn golongan orang yang beriman. Amin.

The Grandest Wedding in Tanjung Pinang, Bintan

[12th - 14th September 2011]

I was invited to attend the wedding of tycoon & ex-mafia, also known as The Tiger of Archipelago, Bobby Jayanto's daughter @ Bintan Permata Beach Resort, Tanjung Pinang. It was the biggest & grandest wedding event in Bintan with about 10,000 guests of which the Menteri of Kepulauan Riau and officers, VIPs, tycoons and big shots were present. The sound system, video & cameras were those that were used fr concerts, n there were spotlights, banquet tentages, music, DJ and loads of fireworks! Felt so honoured to be there to witness it all, met new ppl frm the local band; Insight (Jie Rong - Guitarist, Alicia - Lead Singer, Amos - Guitarist, Jessie - Drummer) who were invited to perform at the function.

Some blunders were unavoidable, the sudden evening rain, the 15min power failure, mic not working. But after all that happened, the situation got back to normal and it was again a merry, joyous and grand event!

Catering & Decor BOOKED!

Hi nepz!

A lil update on the 'search fr vendors'! I met Salwah & her sis on 25th Aug '11 at their boutique in Kandahar St. Discussed further on the package n such, however Iss from the decor wasnt ard. Nonetheless, I had made ma choice to engage both of them. In fact, I got a $200 discount on the decor as I took up the catering package as well.

Deposit has been made! So its confirmed tat u wil b eating food frm Charisma Catering on ma sanding day.. :)

For the decor, I have not chosen the concept & color yet. But since the event is a year plus away..Im not rushing into it now. Iss had also mentioned tat the latest they need is a month's time from the event day to sketch out the concept, choosing & confirming.. Therefore, its not much of a headache to tink of now.

Assalamualaikum.

today, i am officially on off till Saturday. its resting days fr me,, & preparation for Hari Raya which is nearing. Alhamdulillah, i am feeling much better from last 2 days' flu & fever. and today, i am back to fasting full day, insya allah.

oryte.. updates!! since its ma off day..i had planned earlier to go down to Kandahar Street to discuss with ma 'future' wedding vendors, Charisma Catering & Issadiweddings Decor. I am quite nervous now but am looking forward to hear & see watx to come! =D

i will be going with one of ma gd frenz, Huda.. she is also feeling sick but im grateful that she is willing to go wit me. oh! she is also getting married in October 2012!! she first i tink... n then me. Huda will be getting engaged tis coming October 15th. im hapy fr her!

okok i should really be getting ready fr the appointment later at 5pm. so for now, there isnt nothing much to update, just have to wait for the updates in ma next post! till then, take care!

For Saturday Night - Wedding Dinner

Actually Im not sure if the MPH is large enough to fit in 12 round tables, taking into consideration the aisle at the centre which leads to the Wedding Dais. Niways, tis is just ma rough idea on how the set up is like, and lets say it can fit in only upto 12 round tables. Therefore, I must carefully select those whom Im inviting for the dinner, since it will be very very limited. Unless, of course, if I could extend the available premises to the spaces outside the MPH.

SELECTION OF ATTENDEES

I am very very sorry again, to mention that I am unable to invite a lot of people for the dinner. In fact, come to tink of it, the attendees is limited upto 72 people, taking into consideration the limited spaces which can fit upto 12 round tables, each 6 people. I already have a caterer in mind exclusively for the dinner. But this i would blog about in the next round of updates. So, since the limited no. of invites, I have decided that ONLY very close friends & relatives shall be invited. The lists of invites on ma side is already prepared, which that, too, have to be carefully scrutinized & selected.

12 round tables, 6 persons each - 72 invites in total

Attendees will be divided into 2. Half from his side, another half from mine.

FAIR enough. So ma initial plan of 120 ppl, dropped to 72 ppl.. n further reduction to 36 head counts only. AND that too, have to be divided into HALF again!! As they will come in couple &/or with partners.

I hav been checking around, just only... for the Bridal Room Decor + In-house Dais. Been looking for the best offers. I have not checked fully with Charisma Bridal / Issadiweddings yet, cuz i thought I would ask more details on tis wen i am going down on 25th August 2011 at their shop @ Kandahar Street to discuss further on the catering & decor.
