Where have you been for so long?

Well to summarize everything; I have been working. At this point in time though the world has been in a chaotic state do the current pandemic I have been lucky have my job. To be honest, it is starting to get a little tedious (I have almost been going on auto pilot) and I'm really really ready to start a new adventure. Granted it's not in the best environment to do, but I'm ready to back to the creative, nerdy world I belong to.

What are your goals?

I hope to get back to writing up on here, I think I might finish a few old posts I don't know why didn't post them in the first place. I hoping to open an enamel pin shop, based on mostly books, but I will sell art as well. I just need to get of my funk I have been feeling for the last couple of months. Also I'm hoping to post more video on my channel and start working on a historical costuming(mostly)/vintage/cosplay channel. I plan to continue with my job for the moment until I feel comfortable leaving it. I mean I already do; but financially no.

So join me in this journey of things to come!

Introducing The Geek Chic Book Club

Greetings and Salutations 100 day seekers...(I don't know if that exactly works, but its the only thing I can think of for the moment.) Today I'm introducing you to The Geek Chic Book Club.
It's a smaller project that I'm introducing to you in the larger project. This book club was designed to read book around the recent emerging books of ladies in the geek world.

This book club will have a bigger audience on YouTube, if you would like to join in there. This book club will be hosted by me and my friend Vanessa (who is known as Paper Faerie.) Most of the information will be coming the goodreads group page which you can find here. Discussions will be talked about more on Youtube hopefully on livestream.

The first book I would like to start with is Eliza and Her Monsters by

The novel is about a girl named Eliza who is a famous webcomic artist who has trouble connect wit the real world until she meets Wallace who is the biggest known fan fiction writer. Eliza secret is exposed and everything that she built with it. Everything falls apart from there.

I'm still doing a lot of things for this book club like create a logo. If there is any other information, I will let you know.

Tips For First Time Comic Con Goers

A couple of years ago I went to my first convention, technically my second but the first time I went I knew people that developed the convention. The first official convention that I was a nervous wreck. I wouldn't consider myself an expert, but every one becomes more experienced after their first convention. With the Las Vegas Comic Con coming up next week; I have been inspired to help create some tips for the first time goer.

Volunteer at the Convention

I'm putting this as my first tip, because for my first convention I volunteered. Sure you may put in a lot of work, but for that work you get go to the convention for free. Depending on the convention they will do a day zero event where you will have a chance to meet other volunteers (outside of meetings) and some of the vendors. Plus you will get a free shirt for your service.

Carry a bag with you

It can be either a backpack (small if best) or a tote bag or a purse. A bag is best when you need to get your things, like your wallet. Even though you may get a bag full of swag, it's easier to have your own. In case you have a bit of panic attack, trying to search for that lip balm you thought you put in it.

Where something that you are comfortable in

      Where something that you believe can go through the day without having to hurt. If you choose to wear a cosplay. Go ahead, no ones going to stop you. I did on my second day of the convention. Obviously shoes would be a main source of comfort. If your looking for a really good fandom t-shirt, check out Jordanené for amazing worded prints. I love my Outlander shirt.

Create a mini emergency kit/store extra cash

      Mint tins are often handy for this. You can use a circular tin, but it's best if it's a rectangle shaped one. I have an Ouija board one that I keep band-aids and pain pills in. You can also store your lip balm in it if you have room. If you still have extra room, stash some extra cash.

Water and snacks are important

     Water is super important. When it comes to conventions. You need to stay hydrate as much as you can. There are going be chances that you will be unable to get to the line that have food or your sanding in line for a panel. You may never know when need to eat. Keep your energy up.

Take a break when you need it

       If you're like me, you often feel like your being suffocated by being surrounded by other people. Go outside and breathe for a moment or find a area that doesn't have so many people. Anxiety can often be a big issue once your are in are big group of people. If you go outside for a few minutes, go

Ask permission before you take a picture of a cosplayer

If you wish to take a picture of a cosplayer dressed as your favorite character, please ask for permission. Not only will you earn the respect of cosplayer, but you will get them to pose for you. The Jawas were my favorite.

Be smart about your spending

Whether it's on the latest items that the booths have, like the funko that is special edition; or it is where you are staying or travel.Travel sites can often be a great help in big cities such as Las Vegas or San Diego. One site such as vegas.com to make it easier for you to book travel deals for both plane and hotel. If you live in the same town as the convention, then you're in luck. But check out travel sites if you need more help. As for food and you things you want to buy, budget carefully; and spend what you want to get instead of over spending. I may not have this issue because I'm broke most of the time, but I tried to spend wisely. So that is all the tips that I have for those first time goers. I wish I could go to conventions more often, but I'm not lucky enough to have the chance to travel at the moment.The Las Vegas Comic Con is coming up at the end of June. 100 Days of Being Geek Chic and Healthy to start up in June!

Greetings and salutations readers!
I'm excited to announce that this project is returning in June!And hopefully this time I will finish out the days on this project and I have so many things planned.

What do I have planned this year?

I have started a YouTube Channel specifically for this project. And I'm looking bloggers/vloggers to help with specific things around the channel. Here's what I'm looking for.

-Fashion/everyday cosplay/cosplay
-cooking
   -gaming/board games
- DIY
    -Exercise/healthy living
                             -Anything else that might be helpful

I'm starting a book club with a friend of mine and we are going to be reviewing female geek themed book and graphic novels. I will add more info on that once it's smoothed out more.

I would like to encourage some people to start this project with an introduction video, and get out of their comfort zone a bit. If you don't have a why of doing it, then type out the post.

Caraval Book Review

"Remember, it's only a game."

      Since last summer I have been wanting to read this book. I first read a preview of it and in November I won an advance readers copy of it. I was so excited that I was able to win it. So it was my mission to try to finish it through December and January.

      Caraval is a whimsical and colorful story about one girl on the hunt for her sister; while playing a game called Caraval, started by a mysterious man called Legend.
The main character Scarlett and her are invited to Caraval after writing to Legend for many years. Before their journey begins they run into Julian, a sailor who Scarlett finds with her sister. They all find themselves involved in the game after the sisters escape their abusive father.
Once on the island Scarlett's sister Tella disappears and becomes part of the game. It leads Scarlett in a whirlwind of chaos and choices that make her realize who she is without her sister. Julian tags along but leaves on his own to help solve the disappearance of Tella. Or so Scarlett thinks.

There is so much I want to write about this without spoiling the book. From the beginning of the story I can understand why Scarlett and Tella would like to play Caraval. It is first established that their father is abusive and goes into full detail on how and how he became that way.
The one the that really attracted me to the story was the description of color that was in it. This could be in part with the character Scarlett who is later called Crimson by Julian throughout the book. The story a had a big twist to it when there was about 200 pages left. I was shocked, but something at the beginning of the story left it open for the twist and I loved it. The setting of the book seems like the mid 19th century, but I can imagine this if it took place in the present. I would love to get a hard cover copy of this and jump back in Caraval again.

Halloween Favorites: Top 10 Favorite Ghost Adventures locations

Okay, So I could have gone for top five but there I so many places that I could have chosen from. I have been a fan of ghost adventures ever since I have seen the documentary of there first investigation. When they were going to have a tv show I was hooked. The reason why I liked Ghost Adventures so much is because a lot more stuff happens when there was three people. As compared to Ghost Hunters where they had a camera crew filming everything. When it came to the style of Zak, Nick, Aaron, Billy, and Jay filming it felt more authentic on want to want to capture. Another reason I like is because I am a sensitive. When I hear ringing in my ears I know that they are talking to me, as to what they are saying I don't know. I have heard voices on occasion but not often as most sensitives do. I also get the effects of how others died. So some of these locations I'm putting on here are also ones that have had a major effect on me.

This place is in Prescott, Arizona. The saloon has residual energy of a woman being crushed by the boots of a man. He killed her in front of others. There is also an evil energy that resides in the basement. When I was watching this my chest began to hurt and the pain moved up, I had difficulty breathing like I was being crushed like the woman.

The island of the dolls has been one of those places that I heard of since I was a child. Basically when started getting into the paranormal. Someone close to me also has the ability to see spirits. She has a strange obsession with possessed dolls. I would never step on to this island, especially after what these guys experienced there. Dolls have been there for years, even if they were motion activated their batteries are more than likely dead. But that doesn't seem to stop them.

I went to the Winchester Mystery House when I was a kid. I wanted to see the place, but when I went in. I almost wanted to get out. The one thing that freaked me out was was the stairs that lead to nowhere. When these guys went it was

Bobby Mackey's is one of places I know haunts them. In fact when I put this my list, a couple days later the person close me told me she had the song "Johanna" stuck in her head. Um...I don't think that was a random though that came to her head. This one stays to my mind because of possessions, and often these stick with me because they are often a fascination of mine.

I really want to go to Zak's Haunted Museum. I know I will need help with the doll room, with the other one close to me who has her weird obsession with haunted dolls. I want to know who comes up to me as I'm walking through out the place. Does things get stranger as he puts more stuff in it?

This one still haunts me personally. Before the Riviera was closed to be demolished, a woman committed suicide. As they were in the room were she committed the act that lead to her death, Zak and the team had the spirit box out at that moment she asked "You know I'm here?" Zak thought she was talking about him. I can you tell you that she was not. Chills ran down my spine as she said this. Because she was staring out at those who close to the spiritual realm. You could almost feel stare on you and I still can't shake it off.

Living in Northern Nevada I've gone past the Nevada state prison in Carson City, Nevada. I didn't know that they closed it in 2012. When they investigated the place, there was very hostile energy but then it is a prison. That person I said that is close to me who a lot stronger with her ability, wanted to stab me with a fork and she knew it wasn't her because she is right handed and she was holding with her left hand. When the team went into the solitary confinement, there was one prisoner that died in there. I could see someone pacing in the background as they tried to get his attention, but he wanted to pay attention to the wall.

Polveglia Island was one of my favorite episodes and I know it was one of the traumatic early ones for Zak. The island has had many death through out the centuries when it was still in use. Now abandoned because it is believed to be really haunted. The episode became my favorite because of Zak putting on the Plague Doctor's mask and taunting the plague victims certainly brought up the activity. It showed that spirits were still afraid of men wearing masks.

I didn't live very far from Virginia City when I used to live in Nevada. When I watched the documentary of their first time there, it is what really drawed me into the show. I'm amazed that the town keeps bring them back, and they keep coming back to it. One of my favorite parts from it was when Zak shouted something say that he was ready to come for the spirits, the words "Come get me, I'm up here." could be heard from atop the stairs, when they were downstairs. Becasue of all their experiences, I really want to go explore the place.

This one creeped me out so bad. At least for me it was, when I started to experience more encounters with my sensitivity. This I could say is the worst place while watching the episode. George Hodel was the suspected murder of the Black Daliha. When they showed his picture, it gave my immediate chills through out my body because it felt like his fingers were going through my hair. I had so much trouble looking at his picture every time it was brought up. When they used a camera to detect others but they appeared as stick figures, there was one standing over the bathtub doing a sawing like motion. It was as if George was reliving his killings, but the moment Zak and his team stepped the room, it looked like he was washing his hands telling them that they are not supposed to be in that room. I for one am never stepping a foot in that place because I really don't want George's fingers going through my hair again.

This was the Halloween Special that they put up each year. This one was insane. They had ceiling fan fly off a dresser and flip over perfectly. After Zak, did smudging...I have never done it myself but I know he was doing it wrong. (sorry Zak.) When they had reached the Goatman's Bridge real stuff started happening. Jay's wife who was part of the crew as well was fueled by anger, but I know she was trying to resist it. (I'm sorry that she had quit after that.) Jay did an ancient ritual that brought up the activity. What would have happened if a woman preformed the ritual since it was women that were getting angry? Aaron and Zak were possesed. The one thing that bothered me about Zak was when he was holding his throat I could feel him crying, (I was crying myself.) wanting to let go, but something else took control.

I'm a huge fan of Ghost Adventures and amazed by the evidence they gathered and I know being a person with the ability to come in contact with the dead is hard to be believed by most people. Sometimes the gift can be a curse, I know that from experience after I did a ghost tour a couple of weeks ago. I had many people screaming into my ear that I got a headache, and my ear hurt so bad. I even met a spirit who was happy because the tour guide honored her. Zak, Aaron, Jay and Billy (and Nick even though he is no longer part of the team.); I admire you guys in what you do. I hope that you guys get to read this.

I even got a picture in Virginia City with the board that they signed....Excuse my look, I was tired. And the girl staring in the background, my friend who took the picture is 7'2", so it was only natural.

Since the beginning of my encounters with spirits have been more an understanding of them, I have been creating a journal of my encounters. I know the city where my school is a vortex, I'm always attracted place like that. I've had a lot more encounters than before.

5 Reasons Why I Love Arrow

If you have not read my Flash post I encourage you to read it. Like I said in that post, I'm doing this on the days that the shows take place on.

5. John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn
I chose this as number five because though I miss John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, there is some similarity to Malcom Merlyn. A little bit less flirtatious Jack Harkness, Merlyn is a bit tougher than Jack. Unlike Jack he likes to pop in and out of no where when he was not really needed.

4. Other DC Characters before they have their own shows
I know that this one is a bit long the title but it's like the crossovers. Barry was on Arrow before he was the Flash and also had a introduction to Cisco and Katelyn before the official start of the show. Even the suicide squad (even though they didn't have a show) help bring shape to the DC Universe that Arrow is currently shaping.

3. Kick Ass Female Characters
Out of all the DC Shows that have been around for the past few years, Arrow has been the one show made these ladies work their but off. Supergirl has a lot to work on to reach the same level. Even if Felicity is not shooting arrows or using any other weapons, besides using a computer she still kicks butt as Overwatch. Each one of these characters creates a strong team around Oliver Queen and help bring a different strength to Starling/Star City.

2. Felicity watching Oliver Working Out
I actually mean their relationship....but that too. Felicity and Oliver have certainly have had an up and down type of relationship. Even though they have been a romantic relationship, and a really good friendship, they are always still there for each other. You will still find Felicity watching Oliver.

1.The Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen
Yep....another guy suck it up. But I like the character of Oliver Queen. Outside the look of the great body, Oliver has been through a lot. Surviving five years of being "dead" help create the Oliver Queen that we know in the series. He went through death, lost people he has loved and has even lost his family's money but that had never stopped from being the Green Arrow or the mayor of Star City.

I wonder what Batman would be like in this world?

Keep an eye for Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow post. I might do Legends of Tomorrow on Thursday or next week. I haven't decided yet. I'm also thinking about doing one on Constantine as well.....So keep an eye out.

5 Reasons Why I love The Flash

It's Tuesday. Do you know what that means?
The Flash is on tonight!
For some time now I have been doing this list to show you why I love these shows. I should do some on book series. With the CW being invaded by the DC universe; I couldn't help but created these lists on why I love these shows. I was hoping to do this on the four night crossover, I don't know when that is so I will be putting the lists on the days they coincide with the days that they come one. For the moment I only have the Flash written down. It takes some time to put these together. Let's get started.

5. The Multiverse
At the beginning of season two the idea came to reveal the DC multiverse. When it came Zack Snyder saying that his Flash is in a separate universe it would make sense. Even when you have Supergirl and The Flash in separate universes from each other. My Question is Supergirl's move to the CW will become part of the same universe? Does that mean Christopher Nolan's Batman take place in a separate universe? I have so many questions. So many.

4. The Plot
The plot is an interesting one. It certainly keeps me on my toes. With the ideas of the metahumans, multiverse in season two and Barry screwing up with his past at the end of season two. It really makes a fan wanting more. Serious Barry WTF??!!

3.Cisco's Names for the Evil Metahumans
Cisco comes up with awesome names for a lot of the metahumans, granted they are already names that are in the comics. It's still fun to watch cisco make up the names.

2. The Crossovers Working so Well Together

This show is all about crossovers. Barry Allen started his life in a crossover before the show even started. With the constant crossovers into other shows including Supergirl. It is fun to learn that there is even a four night crossover....You might have to pay attention to that one.

1. The Flash/Barry Allen
Yes I know I end these lists with a guy but when it comes to cute guys in shows I like, why not?
Being a millennial, Barry Allen is the perfect example of trying to balance two lives. Though Barry may have the speed force on his side he is pretty much an average guy trying to be normal. But as the Flash he has more enemies as a superhero than he does as Barry. Things change on that. I really love the costume. It is more sleek that the original unitard outfit that he has been known to wear.

September Wrap-up and October TBR

I know that I'm a little late on this but I have been busy with school, so it's hard to keep up with my blogging. I know that some of you out there are the same way. So Let's get started shall we?

I was surprised that I read four books in one month. Then again it was more from my classes than anything. Here's what I read:

This month I plan on reading some spooking things if I can ever get through some things that I'm dealing with. I got cupcakes for my birthday so it was great to pair them up with books and my friend made the bookmark.
So here is my current list:

Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon
Is the continuation of the adventures of Claire Beachamp-Randell- Fraser story as they travel into France to try stop the Jacobite Rebellion.
Most of you that have been reading my blog lately knows how much I'm obsessed with this series. Even Hot Topic came out with an Outlander Fashion line. Chances are I will not be able to get any of the items, because my life sucks. But I hope to read a chunk of the book this month.

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
I have been trying to read this book for a while now and it is perfect for the Halloween Season. If you have not read it is about a girl named Paige who lives in alternate universe in the future where Clairvoyance is rampant through out the world. I would go into detail, but you have to read it yourself.

Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
This is an early utopian novel that was written in the early 1900s. It is about three men who go search for an island that is occupied by women.

Blythewood By Carol Goodman
This book I have not heard of but, reading the back of it, it said had to with witches. So why not?

The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
This also another book I had to read for one of my other classes. I read it and finished it. Lots of Alcohol, some stuff in between, and bull fights. A quick summary for those who haven't read it.

There are a few other books on my TBR for the month october, but I will put it my wrap-up for the month.

Hi guys, If you have been reading my blog for the past few years, I thank you for reading my blog this long.
I am not going away but I have realized that over the past few months that this blog is in need of an update of the layout.
I'm not only focusing on the layout but all other aspects of the site as well such as advertising, about me page, and contact page.
I love my layout that is for sure but at the moment it is a bit disorganized, like me. lol
I would love to have the same layout the blog, but I need to get it organized.
One of the things that I'm adding is a Newsletter so you can learn more about what's going on.

Bookmarks for Books

The title certainly got your attention didn't it?

Earlier this year I started my bookmark shop called Fandom Bookmarks, I started it so I could try to raise money for school. So far I have only sold one on the site, and it went to my current roommate. As you can see there are a lot of blank photos that is because I make a bookmark on a made to order basis, and I make a test one to make sure it is the design that will look good. I would love to fill in this pictures and create many more products.

So the reason I chose the title is because I'm struggling to get some much needed books for my classes, and I was wondering if anyone would like to help me out by buying a bookmark. I would like to reach a goal of 20 bookmarks sold. Every fifth bookmark sold, I will send you another special bookmark for free!
And keep on going with the mile stones through out my shop. I've been trying to figure out how to connect a blog to the shop. I will let you know when I have things running for that blog.

It has been a while since I did one of these because I was pretty much busy last year.

Around the blog

-For the past couple of weeks I have posting like crazy. That is because school has started and I on't have as much writing to do this year as I did last year.

-So I guess this was pertains to around the blog a I started a booktube channel. So far It been so fun. I would love to more than just book reviews on it.

School

-In some ways school has me worried because I am trying to keep up with paying for school. On the plus side I'm glad that I don't have much writing than I did last semester.

Writing

-I have been working on two stories and you can find them on wattpad.

August Wrap-up
     I'm bringing my booktube perspective to my blog as well. So I'm going to start with the wrap-up for August. For the month of August I only read one book. I know bad but at least it was something to read. So like I did at my previous post, I have been reading Outlander.
        I was introduced to Outlander by booktuber Sasha of abookutopia. I first watched the show out of curiosity and fell in love with then I decided to read the book. If you have not read the book you are warned.

      When I looked the book up on Good Reads, I was curious on what others think about the book. I saw a lot reviews that were so negative. At this point of the book I was half way through. Most of the comments were spent on the scene of Claire being beaten by Jamie. They ignore the fact that the book was based in the 18th century and focus on the fact that he is abusing his wife. First off, if they actually read the scene correctly they would have noticed that Jamie says before he beats Claire with a belt that he didn't want to do it several times. But considering that she caused a lot of trouble for Jamie and the other men of the Mackenzie Clan, he had to do it for because if she was not punished he would be seen as less of a man. And it was the 18th century! Most people don't understand the fact that the rules were different than they are now. Standards were a lot different than then and if they being read by eyes that are open to the ones now they a lot issues with it. I understand that.
      Over all I loved the book. I know it took me about two months to finish it but, I have been dealing with a lot of issues and so far Outlander has been the only thing that has kept me calm. Even the theme song to the show. So because of this book, It is the year of Outlander.
      I have the second book to the series Dragonfly in Amber, I need to get the third book Voyager before the next season starts.

September TBR

For my September TBR, since school has started for me I am reading a lot of books this semester. I hope to read other books non-school related books to help me out. So I'm going to create a short list of the things I'm reading this month in class and reading outside of class.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margret Atwood
   I'm reading this book for Dystopian class.The class does not including anything like the Hunger Games or The Giver, but focuses more on the aspect of gender within world of dystopian writing. If you don't know what the Handmaid's Tale is about, taken from Goodreads:

Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. She may leave the home of the Commander and his wife once a day to walk to food markets whose signs are now pictures instead of words because women are no longer allowed to read. She must lie on her back once a month and pray that the Commander makes her pregnant, because in an age of declining births, Offred and the other Handmaids are valued only if their ovaries are viable. Offred can remember the years before, when she lived and made love with her husband, Luke; when she played with and protected her daughter; when she had a job, money of her own, and access to knowledge. But all of that is gone now...

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
      I wasn't surprised about this being on my teacher's reading list because earlier this year he published a prequel to one of the characters.
Summary from Goodreads:
      Dark allegory describes Marlow’s journey up the Congo River and his meeting with, and fascination by, Mr. Kurtz, a mysterious personage who dominates the unruly inhabitants of the region. Masterly blend of adventure, character development, psychological penetration. Considered by many Conrad’s finest, most enigmatic story.

Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon
    This has been on my TBR list for the past few months. It is the first of the sequels that follow the story of Outlander. This one focuses more on their time in France and their role in the Jacobite rebellion. It also focuses more about twenty years in the future where Claire has returned to her time and has to deal with her daughter who reminds her of the man that she left Jamie Fraser.

A Court of Thorn and Roses By Sarah J. Maas
    I have heard so much about this book, but don't know a lot about it other than the fact that it based off of Beauty and the Beast story. I bought the book at the beginning of the summer and I have been waiting read it.
     So here is the summary on Goodreads:
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin-one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

I know. I know, I'm kind of lazy with the post. With school and everything going on around me I haven't had much time to put the post together the way I wanted to.

The Flash Necklace Based Outfit

I was inspired by Loot Crate to create a look on based this question, "what is your most coveted nerdy wardrobe piece?"
If you are not familiar with Loot Crate, they create monthly subscription boxes that features apparel and items from popular fandoms that people love.
Some of you that have read my posts over the years that I don't many items from nerd culture. But as of this summer my go items that I wear are my Joker Necklace and my Flash Necklace.

Seeing that designing a look may take time with the Joker necklace, I chose The Flash necklace.

Flash Fan Look by nerdybirdiegirl featuring vintage tops

Vintage top / Long sleeve jacket / You Wear the Pants in Burgundy / Boots / The Flash Charm Trio / DC Comics The Flash Cosplay Hair Bow 2 Pack Hot Topic

For this look I chose something any fan would wear but also a bit a cosplay mixed into it. Since I don't have a lot to use for this outfit I had to shape it from the internet and Polyvore to help me out.

Necklace
You can buy the charms at Hobby Lobby. I also found the chain there as well.

T-Shirt
I wanted to go with a red shirt to go with the outfit, but I thought a Flash t-shirt would work the best. I found a black version of the ladies shirt.

Pants and boots
Keeping with the look of the Flash himself, red pants seemed to work out the best. As for the boots, I chose a flat heel design, and bit more straps on those boots so they don't go flying when your making a run to CC Jitters.

Jacket
I was looking for a sweater but when I ran into the Jacket above on Modcloth, all I saw was the flash within the jacket. So this is a bit more of a cosplay piece than anything.

Hair Bows
As a final detail, I thought the hair bows worked best with this entire ensemble. You could chose either bow to support The Flash or Reverse Flash.

I really loved creating this outfit, and I was really excited about getting an email about designing an outfit around one of my favorite necklaces. 10 Reasons Why I Love Outlander

A few months ago I had posted about my top 5 Reasons Why I love DaVinci's Demons. If you haven't seen it check it out. Early this year I started my budding romance with the hit Starz show Outlander. That's right I said budding romance. Not only did fall in love with it but I fell in love the entire aspect of it. So I'm going to give you my top ten reason I love not only the show but also the books.

*Major Spoilers Ahead*

10. Time travel and magic
Those of you who don't know the story know that there is a lot of time travel that is tied into magic in it. The question is are they both one in the same in the story or is separate issues. What is interesting about the magic in particular in the story, is the a lot of the still tied into the people of Scotland itself.

9. Scotland is the perfect setting

I know I focused a little bit on Florence in my DaVinci post, but most of that was shot on a set. When it comes to the setting of Outlander, they use various places through out Scotland. And it is just beautiful.

8. Johnathan "Black Jack" Randall will give the chills
I used the picture above as an example to when he has given me chills. Now if you have seen the series and read the book, you would know is the most horrible fictional human being that ever walked the earth. Black Jack did horrible thing to Jamie and left him scarred with the memory of a man who needed to die. Not only did he damage Jamie physically but also mentally. Where he had a difficult time to even look into his Claire's eyes. So this picture in the second season of the series where a peaceful moment is exchanged between the two. Black Jack placed his hand in Jamie, and after seeing the events in season one it could almost send chills down anyone's spine.

7.The books are really detailed with things others don't like as historical novel series

One thing about the first novel is most people complain about thing like Jamie beating Claire or Black Jack well if you read the number eight you would know why. Most people don't realize that the novels take place in the 18th century where beating the wife was something legal for them back then and the things Black Jack was not be bosted about during the time.

6. Frank is pretty much a reincarnation of Black Jack
Though they are played by the same actor in the series. There are some similarities to them. Even Claire makes the mistake of calling "Black Jack" Frank. Tobias Menzies does a perfect job at playing these two characters that are the complete opposite of each other, but has the characteristics that the other lacks.
One thing that both of the characters share is that Frank isn't able to have kids, while Black Jack well...he got stabbed in the in the crouch.

5. The Gaelic language is Beautiful
The title itself is pretty much a Gaelic word, but it translated into English. The word for Outlander is Sassenach. It pretty much become a pet name for the narrating main character Claire. Gaelic is used through out the series to show a piece of the highland culture, because the series takes place as the last surviving culture of Scotland still existed before the Battle of Culloden. The language is not translated like the french in the second season, which is later translated by one of the characters.

4. There is a Lock Ness Monster Chapter
Yep that is right. If you haven't not read the book, there is a very pointless chapter where Claire encounters the Loch Ness Monster. It's actually my favorite chapter but it doesn't fit with the rest of the story. There is brought up during her witch trail but it does not come in much use. It goes with the basic idea that Claire is not alone as being a stranger in the wrong time.

3. Jamie and Claire are a Great Couple
Though at the beginning of the series you know that Claire is married to Frank Randall. I think the reason they became so distant with each other is because the worked separately during WWII. What brought Claire and Jamie together was more than the standing stones at Craigh na Dun, it was because they were destined for each other. Both pretty much are survivors in their own right and they just work perfectly together, whether if it's foiling a Jacobite rebellion or just saving each other from Fort William.

2.You can make a drinking game on the word "Culloden" on the Season 2 Finale

My Aunt and I did a marathon of the series and when it came to the finale episode, we had one glass of wine left with the both of us.Culloden was used so much in the season finale we actually got through the entire glass.

1. James "Jamie" Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser
Is that enough eye candy for you? I don't think it is. So any reason why a lady like me would be watching this show. Sam Heughan is the embodiment of the red-headed Scotsman. He is written out as a young man in his early twenties that has been wedded yet. Once he marries Claire he becomes the most loyal damaged man on planet earth. Without Claire in the picture,you almost want to hold him and never let go. So with this my number one, I'm going to close it with a view of Jamie's ass. (yes, I swear. I don't always like doing in my posts.)

How Booktube and Bookstagram Made Me Love Reading Again

If you have read my blog long enough you would think that me being a creative writing major in college, that I would be reading a whole of books. This hasn't been true for the past few years. For years I have struggled with trying to get back into the flow of reading big books and books in general. Earlier this year I had discovered that my friend from high school had started her on Booktube channel. Watching it I realized that I should start one of my own.
I started to see books as not something that is a required reading from class that I got so tired of reading but as something that can be fun to review and give my opinions on how I feel about the books I read.
I started my videos in April of this year, at the most hectic time to start for a Creative Writing Major. It was almost finals and I had to do a paper, rewrite a story, and a couple of portfolios. Needless to say I actually finished them all. I think the main reason I started doing Booktube is because it gave something else to besides write continuously.

When I took an interest in booktube I realized I need to read new books. My first book that I bought for the year was Passenger by Alexandra Braken. Then I bought a few more over the summer as I became more interested. Outlander was introduced to me and I fell in love with the red-headed Scottish Jamie Fraser. So far I have only done about almost a dozen videos, and I still love working on new ones.

When it came to Instagram, I used to document interesting things in my life like school. This was meant for family members to see what was going as I had my college adventure. Recently, I have been more involved with bookstagram to help show the love that I have had for books ever since I was a little girl. I joined one of the monthly themes and I been loving it ever since. I have found as a interesting to document not only the book I'm reading, but the books on my shelves that have not been touched just yet.

From all this I also started my own bookmark shop called Fandom Bookmarks, I started the shop because I wanted to make bookmarks based on thing that I loved and read. So far I have only sold two bookmarks and I would really love to sell more. I have a bunch of designs waiting, but with the life of a college student I have barely enough money to continue creating them. My bookmarks are made to order basis. But thanks to Instagram I have been giving a lot exposure to them. And I hope to sell more in the future.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I just wrote this in one sitting session and that is the first time that has happened.

I've been going to college!

Well I'm not dead. I'm back home in California wasting a away in the central California heat.
I made the hard decision of not going back to camp this summer. I kept looking at the application, but I just couldn't finish it.
My main concern was seeing my family after being gone for a year. Even if I came down for the weekend and came back for Christmas.
Going out of state for school was the hardest thing that I had to in my life, but it is my time to adventure out. I would like to go further than just a few states away.

I joined Booktube!

I am excited that I started this journey it has given me an excuse to read the book that I have been wanting to read for a while. I'm still trying to develop a system between the channel and this lovely blog. I'm hoping that I can do some of my reviews and tags on here as well as youtube. I have decided to start a shop on handmade bookmarks.

Why did I choose bookmarks?

I have been reading a lot more lately, and the one thing that I always liked doing is making my own bookmarks. Most of the time I just made them out of pieces of paper that I had at hand. The only thing I learned was that I like to create images from construction paper. The tougher it was to do the piece the more extravagant they would come out as. I'm also trying to raise money college.

When I created my comic book holder I figured a to keep it from falling apart.

This passed year I have been trying to figure out what to with my end of the universe shop....so right now it's on hiatus.

The name I have going for the shop is Fandom Bookmarks. I am thinking about changing it. To what I don't know yet.

I chose bookmarks because people still love books, and with they still want to use beautiful bookmarks.Even handmade ones.

For the moment I only have two designs:

I will also being doing orders on custom designs, and you have the choice of sharing with others in the shop or having it all to yourself.

So would like to order some bookmarks?

For years I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my YouTube channel.When my friends started on ones of their own I thought it best to start one of my own. I have a lot of books back home that I could use and what else should a bibliophile do?
Another reason I started it is because I also get a lot of books to read in my classes...particularity since I'm a Creative Writing major. The one thing that is difficult with having a booktube and tags is I don't have my books with me and with the school year coming to a close in the next few week. But once I get home I'm hoping that get to read a big chuck of my books.

So far I have two videos and hope to do more once I have more books. Tell me what you think, and what book suggestions do you have.

Ismene and Lyuba Have Taken Over the Banner

For this banner, Ismene thought she had a a say in what it should look like this time around. She and Lyuba decided to color themselves. I don't know what's gotten in to her, but obviously she is not as creative as Lyuba is.

The reason I made the banner like this is because I wanted to do something unique this time around when it came to designing what these guys do on my blog. I hoping to change the banner more often now since I have been coming up with more ideas. I really want to change it from the halloween one as quickly as possible.
I chose coloring this time around because I is it going to correspond with an up coming post about coloring. I would like to create a coloring book on these guys, it will take so much time to do it.
