The new MSI U160 Wind series 25 mm notebook with a 6-cell battery weights only 2.8 lbs/1.25 kg. The U160 was equipped with an energy-saving Intel Atom N450 processor and a 6-cell battery which both allow up to 15 hours of working time.

The ECO technology offers a wide range of working modes – from a standard mode to the most efficient “Turbo battery” mode. Using just one button you can optimize your work depending on your own need to use either full computing power, or a longer working time without your AC adapter.

The Pandora netbook has dimensions of 83 x 140 mm, a QWERTY keyboard, two analog joysticks, a directions pad and four buttons under the right thumb which is typical for gamepad devices.

It lacks a touchpad and a trackpoint but the joystick is a good replacement thanks to the specified driver.

Pandora operates using the lighter Linux versions or Android system. The manufacturer didn’t actually protect the device from illegal or free software so writing your own apps and free game port distribution are both welcomed.
We can expect a wide range of sympathizers, maybe even dedicated fans who will be developing – completely free of charge – the software intended for Pandora netbooks.

Core Grid has just released the Vigood U220 netbook with a 10.2-inch screen. Similar to other devices of this type, it was based on an Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHZ) processor.

The memory – 1GB - is also standard for notebooks. The thing that differ the U220 among other netbooks is metal chassis. The hard drive is slightly more capacious – 160 GB is a standard for most netbooks and this one comes with a 250 GB HDD. Other features are: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950, multi-card reader, 1.3 MP webcam, WiFi, 3 USB ports and D-Sub. The notebook will cost about $350.
