Hope you're all enjoying the 3 day weekend. Here are some great deals on netbooks during this labor day weekend. I'll start off with my favorite best buy on the list:

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1201PN-PU17-BK 12.1-Inch Netbook - Black $438.57:

Quick Specs: Intel Atom N450 1.66 GHz, Nvidia ION 2, 12 inch 1366 x 768, 2 GB RAM (see full specs)

I love the 1201PN at only $438.57 because it's a 12 inch netbook with an HD screen AND Nvidia ION 2. If you're looking for a good laptop replacement this is it. The best selling netbook for August is the Acer AO532h-2588 at $279.99 which means it's the third time in a row a new company has taken the lead as the best seller - last month it was the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU27-BK. In any case, for a netbook at just $279.99 the Acer was bound to sell well in August:

It is my favorite pick out of all 10 of them listed above due to the 8 hour battery life and sub $300 price.

Samsung NF Series Netbooks Announced

Samsung has just released their NF series of netbooks - the NF110, NF210 and NF310. The Samsung NF310 is has the best specs with an Intel Atom N550 1.5 GHz CPU, 10.1 Inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display and Windows 7 starter. The price? Only $399 - this is awesome folks. You can get the brand new dual core Intel Atom N550 1.5 GHz CPU and a 1366 x 768 res display for under $400? Count me in - I was thinking of getting an upgrade this year and this could be it (more to come when I get one in my hands).

The N210 has just a single core processor and 1024 x 600 pixel display for only $20 less. So if you were thinking of saving $20 and getting this model I'd highly recommend against it.

The N110 is - as you'd expect - the budget model; however, I hear it's not available in the US.

Release Date: Fall

HP Mini 5103 gets the dual core Atom N550 treatement

It was only a few days ago that the dual core Atom N550 1.5 GHz processor was announced; however, now we have two netbooks announced that will feature the new processor. First it was the Acer Aspire One D255, but now we have the HP Mini 5103 jumping into the ring as well. In fact, several other netbooks should be announced with the dual core Atom N550 processors inside in the coming weeks as well.

Looks like we'll have even more competition heating up for this crucial shopping season in the coming months.

Acer D255 Netbook To Feature the Dual Core Atom N550 Processor

Well, that wasn't long. Just a few days after officially announcing the dual core Intel Atom N550 processor we have the first netbook that will be featuring it - The Acer D255.

The netbook is currently available for $399; however, it's oddly only available from the Home Shopping Network at this time. I'm sure we'll see it at Amazon.com and other retailers in the coming weeks. Full specs include Intel Atom N550 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 250 GB HD, 1 GB RAM and a 10 inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution.

Amazon has opened the doors to their dedicated back to school computing page where they're selling various netbooks at some great prices. I've listed my favorite picks that are available at the best prices below.

Intel Releases Dual Core Atom Processor For Netbooks

Intel continues to pursue advancements in netbook technology and this time they do so with the official release of the Intel Atom N550 1.5 GHz processor. The N550 will also allow people to use DDR3 memory as well. No netbooks are currently available with the processor yet, but there should be some later this year.

Toshiba Libertto W105 Dual Screen Up For Pre-Order

The Toshiba Libertto isn't really a netbook, but after seeing a dual screen notebook at CES this year from MSI I was very impressed and excited to see this new one from Toshiba:

The bestselling netbooks that are in bold text listed above are at prices much lower than I've seen them before and are also the netbooks that I know offer the best value. So be sure to check out the bolded netbooks for some ideas on what to buy as they're all at great prices now. This month's bestseller: ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU27-BK for $349.99 is $20 off it's usual price but being a newer generation netbook most of the time they only sell for a couple dollars under list for several months (this one is already on sale though). Again, HP is all over the top 10 best selling netbooks list because of their insanely low prices when compared to what they started at. My favorite pick is this one: HP Mini 210 with 9.75 Hrs Battery Life at $290.99. It's an excellent price for a Windows 7 netbook with a long battery life. If you don't need as much of a battery life and are on a tight budget I highly recommend you check out the Gateway LT2023u with 3 Hrs of Battery Life at $239.99 It's a Windows 7 based netbook with a weak battery life yes, but the price is right at only $239.99.
