Time flies so fasts and soon this semester will be over. Anyway, this semester I decided to leap my passion in photography. This is not new to me I`m shooting for quite a while but without formal schooling. My knowledge in photography came from a seminar and various training back home. Having a formal schooling in photography even not earning a BA degree would be a big help to boost our small business in digital photography. Everyday I am learning new things about different aspects of digital photography. I shoot with my Nikon camera, thanks to my hubby who decided to got my own digital camera. I had so much fun every time we have a class. Soon I will show off some of my shots. Until then!

My reading habits

Since I went back to school last year I become so busy that I have to stop doing my blogging. Now I am in my fall semester it means I don`t have time to update this blog again. Anyhow, I will find time to still update my blog if I can. I won `t promise but I will try. As I woke up this morning I was thinking how I will start my day today, while sipping my coffee I started to read the novel that was assigned to us to read.

My assignment have to draw out from this book, " Surely, you `re Joking, Mr. Feyman". I just started few chapters and it seems interesting. I guess this book is pretty good. According to Los Angeles Times Book Review, "Books like this are temptations - to give up reading and devote life to rereading...The book is a litmus paper: anyone who can read it without laughing out loud is bad crazy."

I love to read but depends on the stories, topics I am reading. I easily get bored if the story is not interesting. Sometimes I am a passive reader. I don `t dig the real meaning of the story. When I find something difficult to understand, or confusing I quit and stop reading. I will not find time to look at the dictionary and analyzed what I have read. In my spring classes last May, I had an instructress who was so passionate in reading and taught us some tips to develop the habit of a good reader. The important things that I really put in mind in reading are these, be critical to what you read, analyzed, annotate the important words and phrases you don `t understand, consult the dictionary and go on. She added that in reading, you don`t have to agree all the time of what the author says, you can oppose their views and have your opinion.

I hope this help me in my reading task today. I need to read three books and analyzed it. Any way this is not for one day reading only it is for the whole semester, all I have to do is to write my reading response once a week out the chapters I am reading.

Removing of Condition of Residence

Hello guys! Time flies so fast, two years ago I was preparing for my immigration for my K-1 Visa. Now, my conditional permanent residence is about to expired. I have 15 days left for my 90 days period to file my Removing of Condition, luckily my husband and I were able to assemble it in few days and was able to mailed it last Tuesday. Now, I can relax, wait for my NOA1 and Biometrics. I am hoping I will not be interviewed. For immigrants out there, who need to file Removing of Condition. Here is the sample Cover Letter we sent.

Since I start blogging I had few products review. I review according to my personal stuff that I possessed. This Net book NB 305 becomes my new handy companion wherever I go. It is a big helped for me while in school waiting for my next classes. When I purchased this, it comes with windows starter I just upgraded it into full version. Now, I have everything and it is very useful for student. I can do my homework in my vacant time, I can check my face book and stay connected with my family and friends. Not just that, I can also write my blog anywhere I go with the use of this net book. The battery life lasts almost one day for me, as they promised the battery life is very good. Connecting to wireless spot is not a problem. I can go to the page as quick as I downloaded the page; there is no problem at all. Hi, guys! It's a long time I am not into blogging. I guess you are wondering where I went, what did I do in those time. Well, I went back to school for few months now and so I have been busy. It is nice to go back to school although it is more than ten years since I had my first college degree. Going back to school is still good thing. Education is a continuous learning, it is necessary to better our lives. Life is hard nowadays , we need to do some alternatives for employment. But one thing I will never forget to go back is writing and blogging; writing is one of my passion and so as photography. It makes my life busy and rolling in my everyday life. We are using this vacuum for few days now and it is really good. It sucked all the dirt from the carpet and hard wood floors. Yesterday my husband and I, his sponsor(our friend/neighbor) and other men and women in RCIA Classes throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit went to Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Woodward, Detroit. It`s my first time to visit the Cathedral here and so my husband who are now in the process of preparation for his Catholic conversion. There are almost five hundred people in the Cathedral. The Cathedral was huge and the architectural design of the church was really fantastic . But it is just material appearance of the church. The important reason of this gatherings is The Rite of Election is the reason for the gatherings of yesterdays occasions. Participants were from different parishes of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

What is this Rite of Election? This period is intended to enlighten the hearts and minds of the candidates (Elect) the person who will be Baptized and Confirmed ( persons who are in the process of continuing conversion) on Easter Vigil. This celebration of the scrutinies and the presentations will enrich this experience for the candidates for Baptism and Confirmations.

The Rite of Election is the final preparation of the elect, the catechumens and candidates . It is the time for the affirmation of knowing and following Christ's. It is also the time of the sponsor, godparents, and the community of catholics will say to the catechumens and candidates that they are ready to move into their final preparation period. During this part of the Rite, the Catechists in charge for the formation of faith of the candidates will come forward and call the names of the candidates for the enrollment to the Easter Vigil Rite. The bishop will ask a few questions for the candidates and the sponsors will be asked to stand beside the candidates. Their testimony is the final affirmation to the bishop. Saying, " You are now the Elect of God. They will return to their parishes as a disciple ready to say " yes" to God.

I am happy that my husband reach this final state of preparation. His decision to follow my faith as Catholic-Christian will strengthen our married life. Following the same faith as couple will guide us to be a good husband and wife. I am just an instrument of his conversion to the catholic faith. The holy spirit touched his life to walk in his faith. I am praying and hoping that I can guide him in knowing and following Christ in our lives.

Today is Ash Wednesday

Today is the start of Lenten Season for Catholic-Christians. It is the start of the forty days preparation for Easter celebration. Time for repentance, fasting and abstinence.

Ash Wednesday derives from the ritual of placing ashes on the foreheads of penitents as a sign of repentance. The ashes used are from the Palm leaves from the last years Palm Sunday. Priests burned it and mixed it the sacred oil and anoint the people. Priests said these words: " Remember, that you are dust, and to dust you shall return:. or some priests may say : " Repent and believe the gospel."

These Prayer books can help us in our prayer life and daily reflections. I have the Life of St. Therese of Lisieux and some pocket prayer books that I prayed at home or while I am traveling. It`s good to have one, it deepens our faith and our devotions.

Thanks hubby for these Valentine Gift

I received this Valentine gift from my hubby last night . A bouquet of orange roses and a white gold necklace. Hubby just removed it from the plastic cover and put in the vase. Every occasion he would always surprise me with gifts , flowers and chocolate. Many times I say to him don`t keep on buying different things for me but he always will. Well, maybe that`s his way of showing love to me. I appreciate all the love he`s giving me and I`m thankful for him. Having a good husband and good family is one of the precious gift we can have in our life. Gifts are just material things, tangible things that we see and we feel. The important aspect of giving gifts is the thought and the love behind the gifts.

Thank you, God for these wonderful gifts. May the celebration of Valentine`s Day remind us to be always loving and may we always radiate this love to our families, friends and for others who does n`t know how to love.

Thank God its Friday again. Do we have plans of doing something this weekend? Me?... I `ll be with my husband in their Pre-Valentine Gig in Last Chance Bar on Saturday. It`s fun to be with the band. I enjoy their choice of music and not just that I got to chance to meet friends who usually go with us everytime they have gig. This is just one of our plans this weekend. On Valentine`s Day, maybe we`ll have dinner out . How about you?

Yesterday my hubby and I went to our family dentist to have our semiannual dental cleaning. Our dentist said we are good to go for another 6 months, we had our tooth cleaned and free from tartar. I asked them about the whitening, just planning to do it, but my hubby said I need to have my braces first and have my tooth compressed before I can have it. That`s one of my problem prior to migrating here . I had tooth extraction several times in my home country. Well, it happend I eat a lot of chocolates when I was a kid. I need to have extraction to prevent me having toothache.

I was supposed to have my partial removable dentures before coming here because its cheaper,hubby doesn`t like it. He want me to have jacket crown and bridges in my tooth that`s falling apart now because of the gap due to extraction.

To prevent tooth decay, toothache and tartar. Dentist suggests to have twice a year dental cleaning. Brush our teeth two - three times a day.Remove tartar using dental floss. Use tooth brush that is soft and not stiff to prevent braking and bleeding gums. In our dental care we are using Aquafresh toothpaste

and Oral B-Toothbrush for sensitive gums and Johnson waxed floss.

Snow blower or Shovel?

Yesterday here in MI, we got 6-8 inches of snow.Snow is fun, I enjoy looking at the shimmering white flakes outside. I tried shoveling the snow in our drive way but can`t stand to stay longer outside. We have snow blower but since my husband was not home I just used the shovel. Well, just a little help to my husband. Good thing our neighbor, generously blowed the snow in our drive way.

We woke up this morning, another inches added in yesterday snow. Before my husband left this morning for work, he blowed it again and put some salt in the drive way. Thanks to modern technology ,we have different types of snow blower. It is ease the burden of shoveling snow. Shovel helps too it helps people exercise their body , but just be careful in bending it can damage backbone and spinal cord. Either way you can use for cleaning your drive way.

We got this Rustic Red Linden Street Pinch -Pleat Thermal 144x84" L Panel in JCP . It was not available in the store when we went shopping last week the sales clerk just ordered it online for us and we picked this in JCP Home Catalog last Friday. It is 50% off , the original price is 180$ we just pay 89$ for this, not bad price right? We got this hoping to save upto 30% in energy. We hanged this behind our venetian blinds and we used black curtain rods with bell style. Pretty much good, it adds accent in our living room , it is warmer now and a little bit decorative.

Love Month

Today is the first day of the Month of February , most of us called this Love Month. Well, its because of Valentine`s Day, derived from the name of St. Valentine.

According to history Valentine was a priest who served during the 3rd century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II ordered that single men made better soldiers than those who are married. He prohibited the marriage for young men. Valentine realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine`s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that Valentine be put to death. He was martyred by doing this action and made known to the world.

The celebration of Love is not just Valentine`s Day. Everyday should be an act of celebrating love. Wether we are married, engage, single, old and young , we are called to celebrate love in our everyday life.

Dear friends, let us love one another because love comes from God. Whoever loves is a child of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. And God showed his love for us by sending his only Son to the world, so that we might have life through him. The command that Christ has given us is this: Whoever loves God must love others also. ( 1 John 7-10, 21).

We got our new Linden Blackout Suede Roman Shade.

Finally we installed our New Linden Street Blackout Suede Roman Shade , we picked Desert Khaki in our three windows. We got it last night from JCPenney in Southland,MI. The original price is 80$ each , but we got it 40$ since it is 50%. Its really good and hoping it might help reduce our monthly heat bill during this winter season. Its good to shop if its sale you can buy many things without paying the whole price. Now adays we have to do some alternatives to tighten the budget, that`s why we decided buying this Roman Shade. I have read a lot of review that it really helps to keep the house warm in the winter and colder in the summer. We installed the two Roman shade in our masters bedroom and one in our computer room. I usually stay most of the time during the day in the computer room and it makes me cold sometimes, probably with this roman shade it will keep our rooms warm.

Today is the especial day of my life. This is the day I got to see the wonders of the world through my parents. Although both of them are in heaven now I still have to say Thank You, Mama and Papa for bringing me into the world, through them I have life. I will always treasure them in my heart and live into their legacy. Looking back for the past 34 years of my life. I can`t count the blessings that God has given me, its priceless

Now, I am facing the 35th years of my life . I know there will be more surprises but it is okay. Trials?That still form of blessings. It makes me more spiritual and cling to God more each day.

"Thank You, Lord for being with me for 34 years. Bless me and protect me in this another year of my life. Increase my faith , hope and love, that I may always follow your will! "

Retirement Home

My parents in-law called last night informing us that they arrived safe from Costa Rica. They went there in search for retirement home and to unwind as well. They said, Costa Rica is a nice place. They went to different places and they are mesmerize by the captivating scenery of Costa Rica. I told them that Philippines and Costa Rica is almost the same weather. It`s tropical country. We`re glad that they enjoyed their trip. For now, they are thinking if they will be moving there or just stay in their home in TN.
