Hi, I've instaled subversion and trac on mi hosting on 1and1 in Spain. Now I only need to install or do something with CGI, fastCGi or mod_python following the guide on trac's website, but it has been impossible to get it working. Do you know the way or a guide to follow to have CGI working on 1and1?

Thanks

Hey Yakov, you're right, I couldnt get multiple svn user accounts to work. I contacted the 1and1 team and they told me it's only offered for dedicated and virtual servers.

I wrote a blog detailing my research and failed attempts if you're interested:

Are you sure 1and1 does not allow multiple svn users?

Can't you use svnserve to allow multiple users? Svnserve does not require that you authenticate via ssh, so being limited to one ssh account shouldn't be a problem.

I haven't gotten my svnserve fully working yet, still trouble shooting a few issues. But would like to know more about your experiences.

Hello,
I'd very much like to use your code to strip the vowels from either a Unicode file or an Excel spreadsheet with multiple Hebrew words. How can I make it work? Thanks so much.
Best,
Lance

Comment on How to Install HP LaserJet 1100A as a Scanner on Windows XP by Bill

I am grateful to Yakov for providing the information and files about the 1100A scanner.
I had googled for 18 hours, found no answer, so phoned HP to buy the installation CD but HP had
me bouncing around, (from technical support to HP Shopping, to HP spare parts, to HP Printer
support (who don't support scanners) back to technical support). So I googled scanner laserjet 1100A and this page was the first item.

re DKeeler Oct 13, 2007
In Windows XP (SP2) the set up program aborts and asks to send a message to Microsoft. Not to worry, the important scanner programs have been expanded and installed. Continue to install the other two programs and everything works out.

re Dave April 23, 2008
In Windows 2000 (SP3) the set up program aborts (_INS0432_MP.exe has generated errors). Not to worry, the important scanner programs have been expanded and installed. Continue to install the other two programs and everything works out.

The remaining issue is the separation pad failure which results in multi-page feeds. Can't wait for Yakov's friend to ask him to solve that one.

Yakov has exerted himself to find a suitable solution and took the time to share the fruits of his larbors with others. May he get all the ice cream he wants in life.

Pubmatic has one advantage and one issue. The advantage is an Ex Harvard founder and DraperScott funding. This means a beleivable combination of stuff. The one issue is that it is a good product but only on paper , the whole concept is fundamentally screwed but a good looking team means that a lot of publishers are gonna bite before they dont know what hit them.

Thanks for the instructions. They mirror some I found a couple of years ago which worked, unfortunately, I cannot get this to work. In my particular instance, I have my original Win2k installation CD, but the autorun won't function, and when I bypass that directly to setup.exe, I can see it start to run in TaskManager before it promptly quits without any indications or program display. The "Step 1" driver you recommend exhibits the exact same symptoms...starts in TaskManager, then promptly quits. So, I'm stuck not being able to install the initial drivers. What bites is I had this working previously until something corrupted the installation, and "disabled" the scanner. Any ideas why the setup.exe's aren't initiallizing properly?
