I have a new solution!
If you have CD with drivers you need only make a copy this CD on drive C, for example: c:\LJ1000A.
Next you need only install drivers for Windows NT.
It works! Why? I don't know.
But don't install to install this from CD! It makes crush.
Have a fun!

A few things that have helped me...I've developed a sensitivity to both baking powder (and ive only used Rumford) and baking soda, and have experimented with reducing the amounts called for in recipes rather dramatically. Even the baseline of 1 ts powder to 1 cup flour, or the equivalent (when acid present) 1/4 ts soda to 1 cup flour, is too much for me, so I have halved or just sort of fudged it-- and at least in "rustic" sorts of recipes--it's FINE! Never used to bother me before my 4th pregnancy... Good luck sensitive dessert-lovers everywhere!

I've been working through your blog post "How to Install HP LaserJet 1100A as a Scanner on Windows XP" in order to get the scanner function of my LaserJet 1100A All-In-One to work. The problem I encounter is when I try to change the driver to HP Desktop. I'm told the drivers aren't installed. When I agree to have them installed I'm told there is a file missing. I find that file in the System folder and copied it and saved it to my destop and then point to it. But them I'm told another file is missing. I find it and do the same and them I'm told it won't work.

Do you think you could help me through this? I LOVE this printer as a destop but I need the scanner function at my desk too.

Thanks,

Thanx Yakov, very very useful, and also resolves that anoying issue with autocorrect that cannot be turned off with english keyboard (just change layout to any other latin keyboard). Just FYI - in Serbian, there is exactly one letter missing in the layout for some reason: ? (or lowercase ?).

Great work - thanks!

Just FYI – in Serbian, there is exactly one letter missing in the layout for some reason: ? (or lowercase ?).

Great work – thanks!

If it is a thesis, the university probably holds partial copyright
which explains why they scanned it here:

My suggestion would be to complain to Amazon and University of Florida

Hmmm. They have my doctoral dissertation "Suwannee River Town: Suwannee River Country" for sale on Amazon. Guess I'll be getting a big royalty check soon ... or not. Did not of course give them permission. Wonder what to do...if anything?

I discovered the same thing with Clabber Girl baking powder - it made everything unbearably bitter. I ended up subbing 2 parts cream of tartar and 1 part baking soda for the amount of baking soda in a recipe. Problem solved - almost. It turns out cream of tartar has 500 mg of potassium per teaspoon and my wife is on kidney dialysis and can't have potassium. I guess I'll try lemon juice, apple juice or vinegar next time to work against baking soda.

Thank you for easily identifying Nabu and BiblioLife.
Copies of a Special Edition of the Studio Magazine - "Old Houses in Holland" by Sydney R Jones have just popped up in an Ebay shop in Australia - "the_nile_au"; one lot published by Nabu Press, the other by BiblioLife; neither are true reproductions, wrong covers, wrong number of pages, wrong sized pages etc. As this was first published in 1913 it is "public domain" in USA, but SRJ text and illustrations are still copyright until September 2036 in Europe and Australia under the "seventy year rule.
