Over the years one of the most frequent requests on WordPress.com has been to allow bloggers to earn money from their blog through ads. We’ve resisted advertising so far because most of it we had seen wasn’t terribly tasteful, and it seemed like Google’s AdSense was the state-of-the-art, which was sad. You pour a lot of time and effort into your blog and you deserve better than AdSense.
Well we think we’ve cracked it, and we’re calling it WordAds.
Blogs are unique and they shouldn’t be treated like every other page on the internet. There are more than 50,000 WordPress-powered blogs coming online every day, and every time I explore them randomly I’m always surprised and delighted by how people are using the platform to express themselves.
As a WordPress user you’re breathing rarefied air on the internet: the Creators, the Independents. Creative minds aren’t satisfied being digital sharecroppers on someone else’s domain, and you want to carve out your own piece of the internet and have a space that you’re proud of because it’s so… you.

स्टीव जॉब्स ने ऐपल को एक के बाद एक सफल उत्पाद दिए। अपनी संपत्ति और कॉरपोरेट जगत में सफलता के बावजूद स्टीव जॉब्स सिलिकन वैली के एक विद्रोही नायक से बने रहे।

उनके काम करने का तरीका ऐसा था कि उनके साथ कई बार काम करना मुश्किल हो जाता मगर लोगों के बीच कौन सा उपकरण लोकप्रिय होगा इसकी समझ ने ऐपल को दुनिया के सबसे जाने-माने नामों में से एक बना दिया।

स्टीवन पॉल जॉब्स का जन्म 24 फरवरी 1955 को सैन फ्रांसिस्को में हुआ था और उनके माता-पिता विश्वविद्यालय के अविवाहित छात्र-छात्रा थे। मां जोआन शिबल थीं और सीरियाई मूल के पिता का नाम अब्दुलफ़तह जंदाली था।

उनके मां-बाप ने बेटे को एक कैलिफ़ोर्नियाई युगल पॉल और क्लारा जॉब्स को गोद दे दिया।

उन्हें गोद देने के कुछ ही महीनों बाद स्टीव के असली मां-बाप ने शादी कर ली और उनकी एक बेटी मोना भी हुई। मगर मोना को अपने भाई के जन्म के बारे में तब तक नहीं पता चला जब तक वह वयस्क नहीं हुईं।

वह सिलिकन वैली में जॉब्स दंपती के यहां पले-बढ़े।

भारत यात्रा
एक स्थानीय हाइ स्कूल में युवा जॉब्स को गर्मियों के दिनों में ह्युलेट पैकार्ड के संयंत्र में पालो आल्टो में काम करने का मौका मिला और उन्होंने वहां एक साथी छात्र स्टीव वोजनियाक के साथ मिलकर काम किया।

फिर एक ही साल बाद उन्होंने कॉलेज छोड़ दिया और वीडियो गेम बनाने वाली कंपनी अटारी के साथ काम किया क्योंकि वह भारत जाने के लिए पैसे जमा करना चाहते थे।

स्टीव जॉब्स
जॉब्स जब भारत से लौटे तो उन्होंने बाल घुटवा लिए थे, वह भारतीय वेशभूषा में थे और नशीले पदार्थ एलएसडी का सेवन कर चुके थे। मगर उसके बाद भी वह बौद्ध जीवन पद्धति में यकीन रखते थे और आजीवन शाकाहारी रहे।

उन्होंने फिर से अटारी में काम शुरू किया और अपने दोस्ट स्टीव वोजनियाक के साथ मिलकर एक स्थानीय कंप्यूटर क्लब में जाना शुरू किया। वोजनियाक खुद का कंप्यूटर डिजाइन कर रहे थे।

जॉब्स ने 1976 में वोजनिया की 50 मशीनें एक स्थानीय कंप्यूटर स्टोर को बेच दीं और उस ऑर्डर की कॉपी के साथ एक इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर को कहा कि वह उन्हें कलपुर्जे दे दें जिसकी रकम अदायगी कुछ समय बाद हो पाएगी।

जॉब्स ने ऐपल-1 नाम से एक मशीन लॉन्च की और ये पहली ऐसी मशीन थी जिससे उन्होंने किसी से धन उधार नहीं लिया और न ही उस बिजनेस का हिस्सा किसी को दिया।

उन्होंने अपनी कंपनी का नाम अपने पसंदीदा फल पर ऐपल रखा। पहले ऐपल से हुआ लाभ एक बेहतर संस्करण का ऐपल-टू बनाने में लगा दिया गया जो कि 1977 के कैलिफोर्निया के कंप्यूटर मेले में दिखाया गया।

नई मशीनें महंगी थीं इसलिए जॉब्स ने एक स्थानीय निवेशक माइक मारकुला को मनाया कि वह ढाई लाख डॉलर का कर्ज दें और वोजनियाक को साथ लेकर उन्होंने ऐपल कंप्यूटर्स नाम की कंपनी बनाई।

ऐपल से अलग राह
उस समय के कई और कंप्यूटर से अलग ऐपल-टू छोटे-छोटे हिस्सों में नहीं आता था जिसे एकसाथ मिलाकर कंप्यूटर बनाना पड़ता।

ये नया मॉडल सफल रहा और 1993 में इसका उत्पादन बंद होने से पहले 60 लाख से ज़्यादा सेट बने।

जॉब्स ने 1984 में मैकिंटॉश बनाया मगर उसके जोर-शोर से प्रचार के पीछे ऐपल में वित्तीय मुश्किलें चल रही थीं।

बिक्री कम हो रही थी और कई लोग जॉब्स के तानाशाही रवैये से परेशान थे। इसके चलते कंपनी में एक सत्ता संघर्ष हुआ और जॉब्स को कंपनी से निकाल दिया गया।

मगर तब तक उन्होंने और चीजें सोच ली थीं और 1985 में उन्होंने नेक्स्ट कंप्यूटर नाम से कंपनी बनाई। इस कंपनी ने एक साल बाद ग्राफ़िक ग्रुप को खरीद लिया।

लोकप्रिय फ़िल्म स्टार वॉर्स के निदेशक जॉर्ज लुकास से खरीदकर जॉब्स ने उसे नया नाम पिक्सर दिया। इस कंपनी ने ऐसा महँगा कंप्यूटर एनिमेशन हार्डवेयर बनाया जिसका इस्तेमाल डिज्नी सहित कई फ़िल्म निर्माण कंपनियों ने किया।

जॉब्स ने कंप्यूर निर्माण से ध्यान हटाकर कंप्यूटर के एनिमेशन वाली फ़िल्में बनानी शुरू कर दीं।

इस क्षेत्र में बड़ी सफलता मिली 1995 में टॉय स्टोरी नाम की फ़िल्म से जिसने दुनिया भर में 35 करोड़ डॉलर बनाए। इसके बाद अ बग्स लाइफ़, फाइंडिंग नीमो और मॉन्स्टर्स इंक जैसी फ़िल्में भी आईं।

कंपनी में वापसी
एक साल बाद ऐपल ने 40 करोड़ डॉलर में नेक्स्ट को ख़रीद लिया और जॉब्स उस कंपनी में वापस लौटे जिसकी उन्होंने स्थापना की थी।

जॉब्स ने बिना समय गंवाए उस समय के ऐपल के मुख्य कार्यकारी को हटा दिया और ऐपल के नुकसान को देखते हुए कई उत्पादों का निर्माण बंद कर दिया। कंपनी ने उसके बाद उपभोक्ता इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स बाज़ार का रुख़ किया।

साल 2001 में लॉन्च हुआ आइपॉड एक स्टाइल का प्रतीक बन गया। इसके सफेद इयर-फोन और पतला डिजाइन एक पहचान बन गए।

ऐपल के उपकरण स्टाइल का प्रतीक बन गए
इस मशीन को आगे बढा़ने के लिए जॉब्स ने आई ट्यून्स भी लॉन्च किया जिससे लोग अपना संगीत इंटरनेट से डाउनलोड कर सकते थे।

साल 2003 में जॉब्स को पता चला कि उन्हें अग्न्याशय यानी पैंक्रियस का कैंसर है। मगर सर्जरी कराने के बजाए उन्होंने वैकल्पिक चिकित्सा के रास्ते खोजे।

उन्होंने इस बीमारी की जानकारी सार्वजनिक नहीं की थी और ऐपल में कुछ ही लोगों को इस बारे में पता था। इसके बाद 2004 में उनका ऑपरेशन हुआ।

स्वास्थ्य
साल 2005 में डिज्नी ने सात अरब डॉलर देकर पिक्सर को खरीद लिया और इस तरह जॉब्स वॉल्ट डिज्नी की कंपनी के सबसे बड़े शेयर धारक बन गए।

दो साल बाद एक बार फिर जॉब्स का डंका गूंजा जब उन्होंने आईफ़ोन लॉन्च किया। उसके लिए लोग दुनिया भर में घंटों-घंटों ऐपल के शोरूम के बाहर लाइन लगाकर खड़े रहे।

जॉब्स काले रंग के गोल गले वाले जंपर और रंगहीन सी हो रही जीन्स में ही नए-नए उपकरण लॉन्च करते रहे और ये उनकी एक पहचान सी बन गई।

एक बार फिर जॉब्स की सेहत को लेकर 2009 में अटकलों का बाज़ार गर्म हुआ और तब घोषणा की गई कि जॉब्स छह महीने की छुट्टी लेकर आराम करने जा रहे हैं।

अगले साल अप्रैल में उनका लिवर प्रतिरोपण हुआ और डॉक्टरों ने कहा कि उनकी सेहत सुधर रही है।

मगर जनवरी 2011 में ऐपल की ओर से घोषणा हुई कि स्वास्थ्य कारणों से जॉब्स छुट्टी लेंगे।

माइक्रोसॉफ़्ट के बिल गेट्स से बिल्कुल उलट स्टीव जॉब्स ने लोकहित के कामों में निजी धन का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया।

साथ ही उन्होंने पर्यावरण की चिंता को भी नहीं अपनाया। ऐपल अक्सर ग्रीनपीस के निशाने पर रहता था क्योंकि उसके उत्पाद आसानी से फिर से इस्तेमाल हो सकने वाले नहीं होते।

स्टीव जॉब्स अपने आप में अनोखे किस्म के व्यक्ति थे जिनका अपनी क्षमताओं में भरोसा था पर अगर उनसे कोई असहमत हुआ तो उसके प्रति उनमें धैर्य ज़्यादा नहीं था।

मगर हां वो उपभोक्ताओं की जरूरतों पर नजर रखते थे और कहते थे, 'आप उपभोक्ताओं से ये नहीं पूछ सकते कि आपको क्या चाहिए और फिर उन्हें वो बनाकर देने की कोशिश हो क्योंकि जब तक आप वो बनाएंगे लोगों को कुछ और नया चाहिए होगा।'

The Hangouts group video chat platform on Google+ now lets video-chatting groups of up to ten people watch live streaming videos together on YouTube.

The ability to watch recorded YouTube videos together has been possible in Hangouts from the start, but now, YouTube Live product manager Brandon Badger told GigaOM that Google‘s been quietly rolling out live video stream viewing while chatting in Hangouts.

While it’s not exactly simple to enable a live video feed alongside a Hangout chat now, Google plans to add tools that will make it a lot easier to find those live video feeds on YouTube while using Hangouts. According to GigaOM, it’s already possible to incorporate live feeds into hangouts using the following five-step manual method:

* Start a Hangouts session in Google+ and invite your contacts to join you.
* In a separate browser tab, head over toYouTube.com/Live and select a live stream of your choice
* Copy the YouTube video I.D. of the selected live stream. Not sure how to find it? Just click on the share link below the video. You’ll get to see a link like http://youtu.be/XXXXXXXX – the cryptic code after the slash is the video I.D.
* Switch back to hangouts, open the video tab and search for the I.D.
* Click play, and you’re all set.

It doesn’t stop there. As you can see above, this is not a convenient way to incorporate live video into a Hangout, so YouTube plans to create tools that will tightly integrate the feature into its Google+ interface, as well as integrate Hangouts into YouTube Live.

For example, Google+ users will be able to watch a live stream on YouTube and see which of their friends are watching that stream in a Hangout. Then, they’ll be able to join their pals to watch that live video, letting them, say, virtually gather together to watch a live football game, with the ability to interact with each other face-to-face at the same time.

We’re going to select our friends carefully to watch live streaming video with this feature — imagine nine of your most talkative friends distracting you so much that you can’t pay attention to the broadcast. Beyond that, we have a feeling this capability will go way beyond watching football games together. What are some other uses for this new group watching of live streaming videos?

Nokia still a hot brand among Indian customers

As many as 12 handsets of Nokia made it to the list of 25 most exciting mobile phones , that were searched and viewed the most by consumers online, the survey by 'The Mobile Indian' website said.

Samsung was second with six of its models, including one CDMA phone, making it to the list.

While Micromax and Sony Ericsson stood at the third position with two of their models figuring in the list, a model each from Dell, HTC and iPhone completed the list of 25 most exciting handsets, the survey added.

"The Handset Hotlist' will give marketers a monthly insight into changing consumer preferences," The Mobile Indian Director Sreekant Khandekar said.

Nokia C5-03, priced at Rs 8,600, was the most searched for and viewed handset, followed by Nokia C6 (Rs 12,200) at the second spot, the survey revealed. It was followed by another stablemate Nokia X7 priced at Rs 18,000.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 priced at Rs 14,700 was at number four, followed by Nokia X3-02 (Rs 7,500).

Interestingly, the list is dominated by international brands and barring Micromax none of the popular Indian brands features in the top 25, the survey revealed.

Apart from Nokia and Samsung, the only other brand to feature in the top 10 is Micromax whose models A70 and X560 figure at eighth position and tenth positions respectively, the survey added.

"Presumably, buyers of handsets marketed by Indian players, who usually make low-cost mobile phones, tend to seek information from the dealer rather than surf for information online," Khandekar

इस ऑफर को पेश करते हुए एमटीएस इंडिया के मुख्य विपणन और बिक्री अधिकारी लियोनिड मुसातोव ने कहा, 'एमटीएस अपनी डेटा केंद्रित वॉइस आधारित रणनीति पर कायम है।'

इस ऑफर के साथ ही कंपनी ने दो अडवांस रेंटल योजनायों- एमब्लेजर एआरपी 3जीबी 2097 और एमब्लेजर एआरपी अनलिमिटेड 2397 को भी पेश किया है।

For the UPnP architecture to work in Windows XP, the Internet gateway device must appear in Network Connections. To make sure that the device appears in Network Connections, click Start, click Run, type ncpa.cpl, and then click OK. Look for the Internet Gateway device:

Also, the router must appear in My Network Places. To make sure the router appears, click My Network Places in the Network Connections navigation pane, and then look for the router:

Note The name that appears is the model name of the router. For information about how to enable UPnP on a router, view the router product documentation.

If these devices do not appear, make sure that the correct components and services are installed in Windows XP. To make sure that the correct components and services are there so that you can enable UPnP, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
In the Components window, click Networking Services, and then click Details.

Click to select the Internet Gateway Device and UPnP User Interface check boxes in the Subcomponents of Networking Services window, if they are not selected.

Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the installation. Or, if you did not make any changes, close the Add or Remove Programs windows and Control Panel.
Start the Services MMC snap-in. To do this, click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
Locate SSDP Discovery Service in the list of services.

If the status is not Started, double-click SSDP Discovery Service to open the SSDP Discovery Service Properties dialog box.
In the Startup type box, click Automatic, and then click Start under Service status. Then, close the SSDP Discovery Services Properties dialog box.

After you follow these steps, the SSDP Discovery Service is running and will automatically start when you start the computer.

Note After you enable UPnP and start the SSDP Discovery Service, it may take 10 minutes for a router to be discovered and appear in Network Connections and in My Network Places.

Your computer can provide Wi-Fi even for devices like a smart phone.

The best way to turn a wired Ethernet connection into a Wi-Fi signal that a group can share is with a wireless router, but sometimes that's just not possible.

What if you're stuck in a hotel room on the road? Or if you want to create a wireless network at midnight when all the stores are closed?

All major operating systems let you turn your computer into a Wi-Fi access point if it's equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, a Wi-Fi card or a Wi-Fi USB dongle. All you need is a Wi-Fi capability and a little know-how.

  Open System Preferences in your dock or via the Apple menu. Click to open "Sharing" preferences.

  Click on "Internet Sharing." In the "Share your connection from" drop-down menu, choose "Ethernet." In the "To computers using" box below that, choose "AirPort." AirPort is Apple's brand for Wi-Fi hardware and is synonymous with Wi-Fi.

  Click on the "AirPort Options" button. In the subsequent dialogue box, click to activate "Enable encryption (using WEP)." Type a network password in the "Password" and "Confirm Password" fields. You want to do this so only those people to whom you tell the password can use your connection.

  Click to put a check in the box next to "Internet Sharing" in the list on the left side of the panel. If asked, click the button to turn on your AirPort card. Click the "Start" button to start the network and close System Preferences.

  Click to open the "Start" menu, then click to open the Control Panel. In the Control Panel, click on "Network Connections."

  Right-click the Ethernet network connection with which the computer accesses the Internet and click "Properties."

  Click on the "Advanced" tab of the "Properties" dialogue box. Click to mark the box next to "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." Click the "OK" button to close the dialogue box. If a "Local Network" message box pops up with an explanation, click the "Yes" button to proceed.

  Right-click on your wireless connection in "Network Connections." If the connection is disabled, you need to enable it. Right-click again if necessary and choose "Properties" in the right-click menu.

  Select the "Wireless Networks" tab in the "Properties" dialogue box. Click the "Add" button in the "Preferred networks" region of the dialogue. This opens a dialogue box called "Wireless network properties."

  Select the "Association" tab of the "Wireless network properties" dialogue. Type your choice of name for your Wi-Fi network in the "Network name (SSID)" field and check the "This is a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network" box.

  Ensure that the "The key is provided for me automatically" box at the bottom of the dialogue box remains unchecked.

  Choose "Open" in the "Network Authentication" drop down menu and choose "WEP" in the "Data encryption" drop down menu.

  Type your choice of password in the "Network key" and "Confirm network key" fields.

  Click the "OK" button to save changes and close the "Wireless network properties" dialogue box. Click the "OK" button on the wireless network adapter's "Properties" dialogue box.

  Download and install a free copy of Connectify.

  Look for the Connectify logo in your notification tray and open it.

  Give your network a name in the "WiFi Name" field. Type your choice of password in the "Passphrase" field. Choose the Ethernet connection you wish to share in the "Internet" drop down menu. Note that you can also share an incoming wireless connection.
