Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra home in Mumbai earlier this morning. Some of his friends were also at home when his body was discovered. His body was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Initial reports from the police say that he was suffering from depression for the past six months. His friends also told Aaj Tak that the reason behind this extreme step is depression. Sushant was undergoing psychiatric treatment, said the police.

A suicide note was not recovered. The police have said that it was a case of death by hanging.

Sushant Singh Rajput had hosted a close group of friends at his home on Saturday night, according to sources. This, however, has not been confirmed by any of his friends. Around 10 am this morning, he went back to his room, after which, he was not seen.

The house staff and his friend tried to open the door but in vain. The house staff called a local key maker. With the help of the duplicate key, they opened the door to discover him hanging. The house help also called the ambulance and the police, who reached his home. The police have found a file that had details of the treatment Sushant Singh Rajput was currently been undergoing. He was suffering from clinical depression for the past six months.

The initial investigation and inquiries have already taken place at his home by the local police.

A pall of gloom descended upon Bollywood on Sunday afternoon, as soon as the news of Sushant Singh Rajput's death broke.

Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Honestly this news has left me shocked and speechless...I remember watching Sushant Singh Rajput in Chhichhore and telling my friend Sajid, its producer how much I'd enjoyed the film and wish I'd been a part of it. Such a talented actor...may God give strength to his family."

Ajay Devgn wrote, "The news of Sushant Singh Rajput's death is truly sad. What a tragic loss. Deepest condolences to his family & loved ones. May his soul find eternal peace."

Sushant made a name for himself on the small screen, especially with Pavitra Rishta, where he played the lead role, before jumping to the big screen. Sushant broke on to the big screen with Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che, based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling book The Three Mistakes of My Life.

Kai Po Che catapulted Sushant Singh Rajput, a smalltown boy, into almost overnight fame.

After 2013's Kai Po Che, Sushant worked in Shuddh Desi Romance with Parineeti Chopra, and then went on to do several films.

He was last seen in Chhichhore opposite Shraddha Kapoor. It was a film directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which dealt with college life and the frustrations of the later years.

The actor's former manager Disha Salian was found dead a few days ago.

Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna. His cousin brother Neeraj Kumar Bablu is an MLA. His sister-in-law is an MLC in the Bihar Legislative Council. He is survived by his elder brother, two sisters, and father, Dr. KK Singh. Sushant lost his mother in 2002 when he was only 16 years old.

In several interviews over the years, Sushant had always spoken of the loss of his mother as a huge blow to him. In fact, his last social media post, from June 3, was also a tribute to his late mother.

Sushant wrote, "Blurred past evaporating from teardrops / Unending dreams carving an arc of smile / And a fleeting life, / negotiating between the two... Ma."

Sushant Singh Rajput had secured all-India 7th rank in AIEEE and finished his Mechanical Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering. He had also won the Physics Olympiad. He joined Shiamak Davar's dance classes and later joined Barry John's acting classes to become an actor.

Because we are normal people living in normal times, normal things are happening. Like the tabloid newspapers reporting that the Sun is "on lockdown," and that the Earth is doomed to a famine of insane weather and ... earthquakes, for some reason.

Well, you can relax. Nothing the Sun is currently doing will create an icy climate, famine, or earthquake. While humans are experiencing things that are definitely not right, the Sun is not doing anything unusual.

What could be happening is a very normal period in the Sun's 11-year cycle; It is called the solar minimum. And there is nothing to fear: If you are reading this, chances are you have already experienced several solar minima without even realizing it.

We are currently in the 24 solar cycle. We do not know precisely when the next solar minimum will occur, but we can largely predict it. In 2017, NASA noted that a solar minimum was expected in 2019-2020.

In December of last year, the NOAA Solar Cycle 25 Prediction Panel further reduced it, stating that "the solar minimum between cycles 24 and 25 will occur in April 2020 (6 months)."

So, we are already going through the solar minimum, or we are about to do it. This is what it really implies.

The solar cycle is based on the Sun's magnetic field, which rotates every 11 years, with its north and south magnetic poles shifting places. It is unknown what drives these cycles, recent research suggests it has to do with an 11.07-year planetary alignment, but the poles change when the magnetic field is at its weakest point, also known as the solar minimum.

Solar cycles are generally not noticed here on Earth. We can see more activity of auroras during solar maximum, since auroras are generated by solar activity. Increased solar activity can also affect radio communications and navigation satellites. People who closely observe the Sun will see more sunspots during solar maximum.

At a solar minimum, solar ultraviolet radiation decreases, but the effect of this mainly affects the stratosphere and higher altitudes. It causes Earth's atmosphere to contract slightly, reducing resistance to satellites. In contrast, the increase in UV radiation during solar maximum contributes to rain, but the effect on temperature is negligible.

There is also an increase in galactic cosmic rays from sources such as supernovae during solar minimum. Earth's atmosphere protects us on the surface from this radiation, which can increase the risk of cancer, but at higher altitudes radiation poses an additional danger to astronauts.

Recently, the actor funded a chartered flight to help fly over 170 migrant workers to Dehradun in Uttrakhand from Mumbai.

Days after Juhi Chaturvedi was accused by the late writer Rajeev Agarwal's son Akira of plagiarizing his father's story for his upcoming film Gulabo Sitabo, the writer dropped the allegations and said the film is her original work.

Juhi has written the story, script and dialogue for Shoojit director Sircar, with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and actor Ayushmann Khurrana. It is backed by Rising Sun Films.

Akira's lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee, claimed that Rajeev had presented his story at the 'Cinestaan India Storytelling Script Contest', promoted by the Writers Association (SWA), of which Juhi was a member of the jury and therefore, he had access to history.

Juhi said in 2017 that he had shared the idea of a "crooked old man" with Bachchan who had asked the writer to develop the story.

"My conscience is clear and so are the facts on this matter. Gulabo Sitabo is my original work and I am proud of it. I shared the idea with the film's director and lead actor in early 2017. Later I registered the concept note for the movie in May 2018, "he said in a statement.

The writer denied having access "to the so-called infringing script at any time."

Juhi said the same has been independently confirmed by Cinestaan and the SWA, "who examined this dispute in May 2020 and decided in my favor."

"I speak now to ask the press and the public not to be disappointed in false accusations, which are for publicity only. Acts of harassment, defamatory comments, and leaks of confidential notices by the accusers only show their lack of faith in their own case. I defend my truth, "he added.

Siddiquee had previously said that Akira had reached out to SWA for mediation, who then asked Juhi to submit his script.

The lawyer claimed that Juhi denied having had access to the script for Rajeev, 16, Mohandas Lane, even though it was mentioned in the terms and conditions of the Cinestaan India storytelling script competition.

However, Anjum Rajabali, chairman of the Jury for the Cinestaan Screenwriting Contest, said Juhi "had absolutely no access to this particular script."

Rajabali said the contest was divided into three stages and that the jury, including superstar Aamir Khan, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Juhi, only had access to the final eight best screenplays.

"While 16, Mohandas Lane made it to the top 20, it did not enter the final list of 8 scripts that were submitted to the jury. The jury, including Juhi, had absolutely no access to any scripts except the 8 that were submitted for them. Therefore, it is totally wrong to assume that since Juhi Chaturvedi was on the jury for the contest, he had received such a script, "he added.

Rising Sun Films producer Ronnie Lahiri said the controversy appeared to be a "deliberate attempt to slander" Juhi and damage the film.

"Right now, when we made the bold decision to release the film on OTT, these unfounded allegations only create unnecessary controversy," he added.

Juhi has written acclaimed movies like Vicky Donor, October, and Piku, all directed by Shoojit.

Apple fixes a major flaw that may have let hackers steal data from iPhones, iPads for years

Apple is finally set to patch two major security flaws in the default iOS and iPadOS Mail app which could have millions of devices vulnerable for over 8 years. The vulnerability was first introduced via iOS 6 and could have since been exploited by attackers repeatedly.

The vulnerability was discovered by ZecOps, a San Francisco-based mobile security forensics firm while it was investigating a sophisticated cyberattack against a client that took place in late 2019.

At the time, Zuk Avraham, ZecOps' chief executive, claimed that the vulnerability was exploited in at least six cybersecurity breaches that allowed hackers to gain access to devices of high-profile targets. The exploit, ZecOps explains, is triggered by sending a rigged email that may or may not require and interaction at all, while in other cases may only require the user to open the email.

Once triggered, the email then runs code in the context of the default mail apps, which make it possible to read, modify, or delete messages. The security firm also suspects the attackers combine the zero-day vulnerability with a separate exploit to give the full control over the device. As explained above, the vulnerability can be triggered remotely without any user interaction -- an attack known as a zero-click.

In a separate report published by Reuters, the publication got two independent security researchers to review ZecOps’ claims. The researchers too found the evidence credible but said they had not yet fully recreated its findings.

In its report, ZecOps claims that a number of its customers were targeted, including employees at a Fortune 500 company in North America, with a journalist in Europe and a VIP in Germany also having been targeted using this exploit.

But what's concerning is that since Apple wasn't aware of the vulnerability until recently, the flaw could have been exploited by hackers and even security agencies across the globe to snoop on unsuspecting users who had no idea that their data was being stolen in the first place.

ZecOps says it alerted Apple to the vulnerabilities in February. Both of the flaws have since been patched in the latest beta releases of iOS 13, and a fix is set to arrive in the next publicly available iOS update in iOS and iPadOS 13.4.5.

India and China to continue military talks along with diplomatic deliberation to resolve Ladakh confrontation: sources

"Both sides agreed to peacefully resolve the situation in the border areas in accordance with various bilateral agreements," the MEA said Sunday.

India and China, for now, will continue to hold further talks to resolve the ongoing confrontation in eastern Ladakh after the meeting between commanders of both armies on June 6 did not yield immediate results. The top commanders from India and China met in Maldo on the Chinese side, opposite Chushul.

Efforts are underway at both the military and diplomatic levels to resolve the problem in eastern Ladakh, where Indian and Chinese troops have been involved in military build-up along the Current Line of Control (LAC), the sources said.

A future date for new military talks will be announced as soon as both sides deliberate and decide, sources added.

India and China agreed to "peacefully resolve the situation in border areas in accordance with various bilateral agreements," the Foreign Ministry (MEA) said on Sunday. The statement was made a day after the much-discussed military meeting where India was represented by the 14th Corps Commander, Lt. Gen. Harinder Singh.

The talks were requested by India and were held at the Border Personnel Meeting Point in Maldo on the Chinese side of the Current Control Line (LAC) in East Ladakh.

"It took place in a cordial and positive environment. Both parties agreed to peacefully resolve the situation in the border areas in accordance with various bilateral agreements," the MEA said.

For the fifth day in a row, India recorded a spike of over 9,000 in the number of new novel coronavirus infections reported from across the country. As of June 7, India has 2,46,628 confirmed cases, including 1,20,406 active cases, 1,19,293 recoveries, and 6,929 casualties as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Covid-19 bulletin on Sunday morning.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, the Indian state with the most cases, crossed that of China on Sunday with a tally of 85,975. Maharashtra's Health Department reported 3,007 new cases on June 7.

Even as confirmed cases continue to rise rapidly, shopping malls and places of worship are gearing up to reopen from Monday while abiding by SOPs part of the Ministry of Home Affairs' "Unlock-1" notification. This is part of the Government of India's three-phased plan to gradually reverse the nationwide lockdown first enforced on March 25 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

86% of cases in Tamil Nadu asymptomatic

Second, only to Maharashtra in infections, Tamil Nadu on Sunday reported 1,515 new cases of Covid-19. The state's tally now stands at 31,667. This figure is inclusive of 14,396 active cases, 16,999 recoveries, and 269 casualties.

Chief Minister K Palaniswami said on Sunday that 86 percent of Tamil Nadu's Covid-19 cases have been found to be asymptomatic. Tamil Nadu has a lower mortality rate than any other Indian state and even some other countries, CM Palaniswami said, adding that the state's recovery rate was the best in the country.

Odisha extends closure of malls, places of worship

Odisha government has decided to extend the closure of shopping malls and places of worship till June 30. Maharashtra is also, yet to take a decision in this regard.

Priests in Mathura met with the district administration and said they are in favor of extending the closure of places of worship, including the 'Banke Bihari' temple in Vrindavan till April 30.

Several states such as Karnataka, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh have issued specific SOPs for places of worship and shopping malls. These include regular cleaning and mandatory social distancing. Some have even taken to the token system to ensure no crowding.

Elderly patient tied to the hospital bed

In a most appalling turn of events, an 80-year-old man was reportedly tied to a bed at a private hospital in Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district. The matter came to light when visuals of Lakshmi Narayan's hands and legs tied to a hospital bed went into wide circulation on social media platforms.

Collector of Shajapur, Dinesh Jain took cognizance of the incident and initiated a probe against the private hospital in question. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also promised strict action against what he termed a "cruel" act.

A somewhat similar case was reported from Delhi's state-run LNJP hospital where family members of a 65-year-old Covid-19 patient alleged that he disappeared from the facility. Efforts are still underway to trace Raj Narain Mahto.

West Bengal government on Sunday permitted family members of Covid-19 patients to see the body of their loved ones and pay their respects. Migrant hangs self in Chhattisgarh

He was placed in 14-day mandatory quarantine as has been the state's policy for returning migrants.

Culture Ministry allows 820 monuments to reopen

In an order on Sunday, the Union Ministry of Culture issued an order allowing 820 centrally protected monuments under the care of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to reopen from June 8. The list did not include the Taj Mahal in Agra among others.

Minister Prahlad Patel clarified that the list includes only those monuments which also serve as places of worship.

Taking a cue from the recommendations of a committee led by Dr. Mahesh Verma, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that all state-run and some private hospitals in the city will be reserved only for Delhi's residents. He clarified that hospitals that come under the purview of the Central government will continue to be open for everyone.

CM Kejriwal's announcement comes at a time when new reports of hospitals in the Delhi-NCR refusing admission to patients are coming to light each day. One such case was pointed out by former MP Shahid Siddiqui whose niece died after she was refused admission by a number of hospitals in the national capital. Another case was that of a pregnant woman whose family could not get her admitted to hospitals in Noida and Ghaziabad despite a 13-hour ordeal that resulted in her death.

Mumbai police, fire brigade, and other agencies have mobilized to verify the source of the gas leak and contain the same as soon as possible.

Mumbai's civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), said on Saturday that it ordered the fire department to review complaints of a bad smell emanating from multiple areas. "We have received a couple of complaints of a suspected gas leak from residents of Chembur, Ghatkopar, Kanjurmarg, Vikhroli, and Powai," said the BMC.

Judging by preliminary reports, BMC headquarters recorded a gas leak at the American vitamin company near Indira Apartment on Station Road, Govandi, at 9:53 p.m. on Saturday. For this purpose, the agencies that have been mobilized to verify the source of the leak are the Mumbai Police, the Gas Mahanagar (MGL), the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the staff of the room, and the air pollution personnel of the BMC.

According to the fire department, residents of the areas in question have been making calls about the bad smell. These areas include Ghatkopar and Chembur. The Delhi Medical Association on Saturday slammed the Arvind Kejriwal government after the Delhi CM warned hospitals of stern action if they refuse Covid-19 patients or indulge in "black-marketing" of beds in view of a surge in novel coronavirus cases.

The statement by the medical body came after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, addressing an online media briefing on Saturday, said some hospitals are lying about their availability of beds and warned of "strong action" against the hospitals.

"We will take strong action against such hospitals and they cannot refuse patients. Some time will be needed to break the mafia who are indulging in it. These few hospitals have a political approach but they should not be under the illusion that their political masters can save them," Arvind Kejriwal said.

The medical body also condemned the FIR filed against Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for alleged violation of the novel coronavirus testing guidelines.

Meanwhile, DMA president Dr B B Wadhwa demanded a list of issues that the Delhi government needs to take care of.

India overtakes Spain to become 5th most-affected country by coronavirus

India on Saturday surpassed Spain to become the fifth most-affected country in the face of the novel coronavirus outbreak with the nationwide tally of confirmed cases of infection breaching the 2.4 lakh mark.

As per the morning bulletin of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), there were 2,36,657 Covid-19 cases in India as of 8 AM on Saturday. Meanwhile, as per the World Health Organisation's Covid-19 dashboard, Spain has a total of 2,40,978 cases so far.

If new cases reported from various states across India on Saturday are taken into account, the nation's Covid-19 tally exceeds that of Spain.

On June 6, Maharashtra reported 2,739 new cases, Tamil Nadu 1,458 new cases, West Bengal 435 new cases and Rajasthan 253 new cases as per the daily Covid-19 bulletins put out by the health departments of the respective states.

Taken together, these four states reported at 4,903 new cases of infection on Saturday, taking India's total to 2,41,542, which is higher than Spain's figures put out by the WHO.

The number of cases reported in India on June 6 will be higher than the mentioned figure because numbers for several other states are yet to be released.

The central governments will account for these cases in its morning bulletin on Sunday, June 7.

WHO's figures for Spain also match figures put out by John Hopkins University's dashboard on the novel coronavirus. However, Worldometer, a private website that is independently tracking Covid-19 cases has Spain's figures as 288,050.

The Maharashtra government will procure 10,000 vials of the drug Remdesivir for treating coronavirus patients, Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Saturday.

The expensive medicine is being made available for the poor and needy patients in the state, he said.

"GoM to procure 10k vials of Remdesivir. Based on evidence from Laboratory, animal and clinical studies, It has generated promising results in MERS-CoV and SARS which are also caused by Corona Virus," Tope tweeted.

"WHO (World Health Organisation) suggests it may have some positive effects in Covid-19 treatment. This expensive medicine is being made available for poor & needy patients," he added.

As of Friday, Maharashtra had reported 80,229 coronavirus cases and 2,849 deaths, which are the highest in the country.
