NetX Installs Fast 4G Wireless connection for Cleveland City Council

Cleveland City Council needed to increase bandwidth in order to take full advantage of the wealth of knowledge and services that today's highly interactive web applications are able to provide. The old T1 service was no longer suitable for this purpose. NetX installed a fast and affordable 10 Mbps symmetrical connection that gave us the bandwidth we needed. I am pleased with the new, high bandwidth connection they installed and the many efficiencies it brings to Cleveland City Council.

NetX Internet, a leading provider of 4G WiMax broadband services to Northeast, Ohio, announced on Monday its submission of a proposal to the Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) for a grant under the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (http://tinyurl.com/2u7cump). The program, called the Neighborhood Computer Collaborative of Lorain & Cuyahoga Counties Project would, if successful, provide high speed, broadband service and training at twenty public sites in the lowest income neighborhoods ofCleveland,Lorain andElyria,Ohio, NetX said in a release.

The program will focus on increasing the digital literacy of those who have been "left behind" in these underserved, low-income neighborhoods. The project will provide broadband access, education, training, equipment and support to fifteen (15) existing non-profit agencies hosting the twenty (20) public computer center sites including six Boys & Girls Club sites.

NetX Connects Marvel's Avengers Movie

Marvel Studios filmed parts of The Avengers Movie in Cleveland, Ohio. NetX was selected to provided the primary communication and Internet access for the filming of the Movie.

The production team needed to transfer large digital files for post production and editing to offices in New York and New Mexico. NetX was able to quickly provide a 100 x 100 Meg connection in less than 48 hours that supported the entire production staff, artists and visual effects crew. VoIP was used by the production for over 180 phones during the production of the movie. Filming a large production means that any loss of connectivity could cost millions to re shoot, so a reliable connection was critical. The Visual effects and crew would work long hours transferring large video files.The NetX Wireless network was able to handle the demanding voice, video and data connectivity needed to keep the production up and running.

Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine goes Wireless

Big Solution for a Big Problem

The College just moved into a much bigger and more spacious location and was looking to serve a larger staff and student population. They had previously used T1s for their voice and Internet service, but were now looking to implement VoIP and a host of other applications. OCPM needed big bandwidth and T1s were not going to be enough. They were looking at metro Ethernet and fiber but both were either impossible or too cost prohibitive to consider.

Solution:

The college's outside consulting firm and provider N2Net recommended a NetX wireless solution. N2Net and NetX have partnered to deliver wireless in the past with great success and knew that wireless would be a fast, reliable and cost effective solution.

We installed a dual radio system for redundancy that delivers over 50 Mbps of bandwidth to the college. The system also connects a remote campus in downtown Cleveland with a separate wireless link. The Problem:

The West Side Catholic Center is a 45-employee non-profit agency offering food, shelter and clothing to Cleveland's poor and homeless. After struggling for years with extended outages with both cable and DSL connections, the WSCC was looking for a more dependable business class connection. Also, the agency was looking to implement a document management system and required much more upload bandwidth than what was being provided though the cable company.
