After nearly two years of Holosync I have paused my use of it. &#8220;Why?&#8221; You may ask. Is there a problem? Is it not working? Have I found something better? Am I giving up meditation?</p>
<p align="justify">Ok, ok, let&#8217;s slow down a bit here and be clear that I have no problems with Holosync and I am certainly not giving up on meditation. I have decided, for reporting purposes and as a personal research exercise to try another meditation program. That program is:</p>
<p align="justify"><a href="http://www.neuralreconditioning.com/brain-ev-system.html"><strong>The Brain Evolution System</strong></a></p>
<p align="justify">I came across Brain EV, as it is often referred to some time ago and I was intrigued by the information on their website, which was very extensive. However, at the time I just was not prepared to interrupt my Holosync meditation for the sake of something new and unproven, despite the credibility of the information on the site.</p>
<p align="justify">It is pointless to use more than one brainwave-entrainment, meditation tool at once, so it was out of the question to have a Holosync session and a Brain EV session every day. Besides that may actually have had an adverse affect on me, at least an overwhelming amount of stimulation I should imagine and I meditate to gain the benefits of meditation, not to sabotage them!</p>
<p align="justify">So after finishing Awakening Level 2 near the end of May and having Awakening level 3 ready and waiting in its box I decided that it was time to give the Brain EV an assessment and I started on June 1st 2009.</p>
<p align="justify">It&#8217;s a solid plan: The Brain EV program lasts for 6 months, which consists of 6 CDs, 1 month each, progressing to the next one in the series. That&#8217;s it. It is a 6-month long program, so I figured I could give the Brain EV a thorough assessment and return to Holosync, which, if I complete the entire program will last another 6 or 7 years.</p>
<p align="justify">So now I have been meditating using Brain EV for 1 month and I am now on CD number 2 called Lucid Echoes. The first CD is called Transcendence and this is what I have to report:</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Sleep? What a Waste of Time!<br />
</strong>Ha ha! Just a light-hearted little outburst, but this reflects one of the most noticeable effects since using this product. I seem to require much, much less sleep. I don&#8217;t know if this is simply a reaction or if it is a benefit, but apart from a couple of evenings, when I actually wanted to sleep, but found it difficult, it has been the most productive and effective, sleepless time over this last month that I&#8217;ve ever had.</p>
<p align="justify">In short, I had a huge amount of stuff to do to complete a vital stage in my latest project: Mind Over Matter &#8211; Heart Over Mind and I spent at least 16 hours a day for well over a week working on this. Not only that, but these hours were focused, productive and efficient hours. I think I got done what I would normally have taken about 3 weeks to do. It took me just 10 days!</p>
<p align="justify">The meditation sessions are 30 minutes each and during that 30 minutes I am put into a deep meditative state that feels very different to Holosync, not better, just different. In fact after just that 30-minute session I have invariably felt as refreshed as having had a good nights sleep. I normally meditate in the early afternoon &#8211; siesta time and it&#8217;s a great way of breaking up the day. I have two working days in a day and I feel much less guilty about having days off from doing any work, because I have got so much more done on most days than I would normally.</p>
<p align="justify">Going by the information on the <strong><a href="http://www.neuralreconditioning.com/brain-ev-system.html">Brain EV website</a></strong> these benefits should remain permanent.</p>
<p align="justify">My conclusion at this stage is that I will be in great shape to continue with Holosync Awakening Level 3 after this.</p>

<p align="justify"><strong>Everyday Affirmations and Visualization<br />
</strong>You are visualizing and affirming all the time. In fact I have written about this before <strong><a href="http://www.neuralreconditioning.com/unconscious-affirmations/" target="_blank">Unconscious Affirmations</a></strong><a href="http://www.neuralreconditioning.com/unconscious-affirmations/" target="_blank">.</a> Your subconscious takes images that you have either seen before or imagined before and stores them for future reference to similar situations, so that you are able to identify possible danger, familiarity and to make sense of your world through reference. It keeps you safe in a familiar world that you can navigate through. Of course the danger prevention aspect is only really relevant to physical, life-threatening situations like being chased by a lion or under attack in a war for example, so it is an ally for your physical survival &#8211; The Fight or Flight Response.</p>
<p align="justify">However, the ego has evolved so cleverly that it uses this very mechanism to keep itself protected, so whatever beliefs and values you gave your ego as you developed are the very things that the ego now automatically protects in order to keep itself relevant, much to your frustration a lot of the time no doubt: Things like avoiding humiliation, not being disappointed and worrying about what other people think of you. None of them particularly life-threatening as you will no doubt agree.</p>
<p align="justify">It&#8217;s just a matter of survival and the results are successfully perpetuated because of the emotional importance of the affirmations you make to yourself and the images you conjure up in your head all the time. A lot of the time (if your results in life are not how you want them to be) the emotions running the show  are fear, resentment, anger and a whole range of so-called negative emotions, so the process of deliberate visualization is obviously to re-paint the picture of your world with the colors and the experiences that you desire, which requires genuine emotions that are exactly in line with what you want to feel in your heart. For nearly every person on this planet I would say that the fundamental emotion desired above all else is happiness. If we were all happy, we would not want for anything and would probably have a much easier time getting the things we want by not getting in the way of them with less-than-useful emotions. We would also be dealing with other people who were content and happy, thus causing us to feel better too, so it would be a positive, self-fulfilling prophecy to be happy. Sounds good right?</p>
<p align="justify">Well forget trying to make the whole world happy right now and focus on the one person you <em>can</em> convince &#8211; YOU.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Visualization, Affirmations and Emotional Triggers<br />

<p align="justify">The easiest way to describe this secret of achieving your desires is to feel the way you will feel once achieved already. In essence the advice to simply choose to be happy right now puts all the pieces together because if your ultimate desired state is to be happy then start with the feeling now and you will become more naturally focused on the things that make you happy, attracting more and more of them into your life. Even things you hadn&#8217;t thought of before. The feeling of being happy being the instructions you are giving your subconscious to go and find for you.</p>
<p align="justify">There, you no longer need to buy any more books about how to manifest your desires! Just books on how to practice being happy, which I am more than happy to write! Watch this space!</p>
<p align="justify">Going back to my mind movie that I made I get a jolt of energy every time I watch it. Not always at the same point, but at various points throughout. It is at those specific points that I can feel and believe that the feelings attached to my thoughts and focus are aligned with the core desire in my heart. It&#8217;s like a feeling of activation. The longer I continue with all my daily practices of visualization and affirmation I am sure I will have much more to report.</p>
<p align="justify">In the next article in this series I will get into the the matter of intentions  and why I think that is an important aspect to how you approach your visualization.</p>

Well he didn't tell me personally, but I heard him tell it. This is one thing I very much like about the work of Bill Harris and Centerpointe.</p>]]></description>

<p align="justify">It demonstrates an outlook that relaxes me and gives me confidence. To know that I am using a product that is not only effective, but is also one that gives me a welcome feeling and one which doesn&#8217;t demand I take too seriously. Apply discipline and commitment, yes, but not to identify myself with at the cost of any sense of fun. Meditation can be seen as a really serious practice and of course it is an important one, but is <em>anything </em>really serious when all judgments and labels are suspended?</p>
<p align="justify">So it is at this point that my entry in the diary is a little thin on the ground as far as progress with the meditation is concerned because I have not been practicing for nearly a month. Without going into the details or making excuses I involuntarily paused the Holosync sessions, but I feel really cool with that. I am back on the case and on the final CD of Awakening Level 2. Awakening 3 is already in my possession and in about 2 months I will be on the next level.</p>
<p align="justify">As far as progress goes I believe that this break has given me some space to really see the benefits of what I have been disciplined in doing since August 2007 and I feel really good about the fact that I didn&#8217;t hit a down or a slump because I wasn&#8217;t meditating. This means that my meditation is not a crutch and it means that the effects of the program have longevity, being in effect long after any practice is finished. I suspect that the claims from Centerpointe are true that the effects are permanent and once your brain has grown in terms of it&#8217;s ability to handle higher thresholds of stimulus it doesn&#8217;t fall back.</p>
<p align="justify">I still think I would be further ahead with my progress if I hadn&#8217;t taken the break, but this evidence is valuable to me and I hope to anyone reading this who is thinking about embarking on the Holosync program or just starting out. My conclusion is that it&#8217;s worth it folks. I still stand by the fact that this is the one product that has consistently been helping me to gain the increases in personal power to create my life by design. It just seems to run in the background although the results definitely take center stage.</p>

<strong>Is There a Movie in Your Head?<br />
</strong>This is the first article in a series based around what are known as Mind Movies and the whole process of visualization and affirmations.</p>
<p align="justify">I got myself the <strong><a href="http://www.neuralreconditioning.com/mind-movies.html">Mind Movie creation kit</a></strong> and made myself a Mind Movie, which is basically a video containing a picture slide show, music and text affirmations that combine to form an emotionally engaging design for life. Pictures and sound really do have quite a strong effect. The point of this? To manifest the life of your dreams. Sounds a bit too easy really doesn&#8217;t it, but whatever the end result, the experience I found quite remarkable and it reminded me of what I was doing a couple of years ago.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>A Visual Experience<br />
</strong>Let me start off by back-tracking to July 2007. I came across a term called <em>neural reconditioning</em> (well we know where that led me!) and after becoming familiar with how it all works on a basic level I started to experiment with ways to reprogram my own mind. After writing down my Life Vision and Purpose, things I wanted to achieve, experience &amp; acquire along the way and making a list of the ways in which I wanted to contribute to the world around me I decided to record my voice reading it all out with some inspiring music that I wrote as the backdrop. It was really exciting and I committed myself to listening to it morning and night whilst reading through it.</p>
<p align="justify">I also decided to gather pictures of the things and concepts detailed in what I had written and I made a photo slide show out of them also with some happy sounding music. This slide show also included things that I already had in my life which made me feel good, like my wife-to-be and my guitars! The idea of this was to trigger the emotions that would be the most effective for manifesting the things I desired. It worked to some degree, although I didn&#8217;t keep it up much past the first month. However, having committed myself to doing at least 30 days (I think I managed 40), some things did begin to take shape that were in line with what I was affirming and visualizing using these tools. The most notable was the monumental shift in my creativity and my day-to-day lifestyle, which led me to what I am doing today: Pretty much exactly what I had wanted since the end of 2006: <a href="http://www.leavetheoffice.com/no-turning-back-now/" target="_blank"><strong>I left the office!</strong></a></p>
<p align="justify">Visualization has been very effective for me and this is why I continue to apply it. My recommendation is to visualize in different ways. I am a big believer in writing things down, which is a daily practice for me and this is as much a visualization process as watching a movie, except it doesn&#8217;t evoke strong enough feeling for some people. My suggestion is that you just write anyway because it is a great way to exercise your imagination and become more adept at getting into the emotional state you desire in order to see the manifestation of your goals more quickly.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Stop Questioning<br />

In fact I feel like this is one of the most important realizations so far for me. I have found that at times when I am unclear about what I could be doing next I am less frustrated by that fact, instead using my undecided time as quiet time to look inside and assess my design for life.</p>
<p align="justify">The result has given me plenty of insights to put into a new book I am writing, designed to inspire the reader (and listener - it comes with music) to shift their focus on the creative process in achieving their own desires and intentions.</p>
<p align="justify">The meditation continues.</p>

Look around you. What is your life situation right now? Would I be right in saying it&#8217;s pretty much the same as it was yesterday or the day before? Is it likely that it will be pretty much the same tomorrow?</p>
<p align="justify">Therein lies the answer to what it is you belief about: What is possible for you, who you are and what is real. Your beliefs are most often <em>not</em> the same as what you would like to believe or indeed think you believe on a conscious level. Your beliefs exist in your sub-conscious, placed their by you over time and have become entrenched in your habitual thinking and your self image.</p>
<p align="justify">There is a specialist technical term used in a very specialist piece of telecommunications equipment by a large European manufacturer, who I used to work for to describe the process  of programming the system to connect two pieces of hardware to establish a communication path via software. This term is referred to as a &quot;<strong>Semi-Permanent Connection</strong>&quot;. It is named so because once set up it creates  (in a software sense) a hard-wired connection between two pieces of hardware, but by performing the software commands in reverse (and some other esoteric procedures) it can be disconnected and the two pieces of hardware are then free to be used elsewhere again.</p>
<p align="justify">OK, sorry for the technical analogy, but this leads me to explaining how beliefs are akin to semi-permanent connections. As a result of certain experiences as you grew up, you made decisions about what that experience meant about you and how you fit into this world, or more simply, you created a belief about how reality is. Over time, with the seed of that belief already sowed, your awareness of this view of reality (subconsciously remember) caused you to pick up on more instances of similar experiences and further evidence supporting what you decided was the truth about the world, reinforcing the belief and feeding it.</p>
<p align="justify">In terms of the chemical activity in your brain, you were setting up a semi-permanent connection in the brain and certain neurons literally became wired together and the more evidence you saw of this belief along with strong emotional content to these experiences, these connections became more strongly wired as more and more brain chemicals were created around that neurological connection and in essence, more and more wires were connected to make that connection fixed in place.</p>
<p align="justify">As a child you would be unable to make a distinction between what happened to you and the intention behind what it was that happened to you, say being scolded by parents for example. They&#8217;re intention may have been to teach you something to keep you safe, but you interpreted it as you being bad or not good enough&#8230; you get the picture right?</p>
<p align="justify">So instead of a programmer, programming a semi-permanent connection with software commands, you programmed a semi-permanent connection with the biology of your brain, activated by your perception and interpretation of events.</p>
<p align="justify">So the good thing about this is that the connection is <em>Semi-Permanent</em> remember? So any belief you have that causes you to get results in life that you do not want can be rewired, but like the software procedure for a semi-permanent connection it takes a little work and application to un-do it all.</p>
<p align="justify">The first step is identify what the belief is in the first place, so you can find out how it is causing you to create the same results over and over again. Then and only then can you make any changes. You need the foundation to start from.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>This is a good way to start:</strong><br />
Take some time, undisturbed and do not stop to do anything else. Turn off your phone, move away from the internet and turn off the TV! Now take a pen and paper and start writing down what you would love to do with your life. What is it that would make you 100% happy, fulfilled, loving life and eager to get up in the morning? You may already know, or think you know, so start by writing that. This is an exercise in focusing your mind on what you want &#8211; unsurprisingly! Pay special attention to how you feel as you write down all the things you would love to do, be or have in your life. Some will cause an emotional stir, some may just sound good, but not really mean so much to you and some may even make you cry.</p>
<p align="justify">What this process will do is highlight any beliefs you may have about what is possible in your life. For example if you write down a desire you have and you know it is a true heart&#8217;s desire because you have a strong emotional charge when you write it down or think about it, try to determine if there is any voice or feeling in your mind about whether this is possible or likely. If you find yourself feeling strongly desiring something and are saying to yourself, &quot;Yes but that can never happen&quot;, first congratulate yourself on having exposed a negative belief and then question why that belief is there and the validity of that belief. The only thing that makes &quot;<em>Yes, but that can never happen</em>&quot; true is the belief from which that statement arose. It is not <em>The Truth</em>, but <em>a Truth</em>.</p>
<p align="justify">I come up against beliefs I didn&#8217;t know I had often and I love it when I do because I know I am not far away from a breakthrough in a certain area of my life. Even just discovering a belief is there reduces it&#8217;s power over your life, so even if you feel like you&#8217;re getting nowhere with transforming or eradicating the belief, smile and know this:</p>
<p align="center"><strong>I guarantee you are making progress, even when you cannot see any physical evidence for it. Faith is key and is another point I will cover in another article.</strong></p>

<ul>
<li><strong>Money</strong> &#8211; Then it is the freedom from the feeling of needing money, not the possession of it.</li>
<li><strong>Power</strong> &#8211; Then it is the power you have to create your own life the way you choose it, not the power you have over others.</li>
<li><strong>Control</strong> &#8211; Then it is the control you have over how you feel in any given moment , not the control you have over outside circumstances.</li>
</ul>
<p>Success is closer to home than you may think and is nothing to do with anything outside of you.</p>
<p align="justify">We all know that success means different things to different people, but what do you really think of when you hear or say the word &quot;Success&quot;?</p>
<p align="justify">I was thinking about this recently and a thought came to me. I was just about to share it with my wife when, as soon as I got to the word <em>success, </em>she interrupted me and proceeded to explain to me what success is in her words. What was interesting was that she said pretty much what I was about to share with her, except she said it like she&#8217;d known all along, which I suspect she has!</p>
<p align="justify">Here is the definition of success as was discussed the other night between my wife and I. This is not an opinion I am trying to preach by the way, but a suggestion. One that really works for me. I would love to hear comments on this.</p>
<p align="justify">Success is discovering who you are. Not who you think you are, but what lies underneath. It is the discovery of what is your true heart&#8217;s desire, what gets you out of bed in the morning and what naturally motivates you without any necessity for outside forces  to keep you motivated.</p>
<p align="justify">Success comes when you know yourself. There is no finish line, so it&#8217;s not about achieving a financial goal. It is not happiness derived from material achievements. I&#8217;m not denying the that material goals are pleasurable, but they do not define success, they only represent a fraction of it.</p>
<p align="justify">To succeed is to remember what it is that is held deep within you, what you were born with and are here to share. By discovering your uniqueness and expression of it, you have success because your whole way of being will be in alignment with who you are and there will be no resistance to what is because you will be who you truly are and therefore want to be.</p>
<p align="justify">If you want to succeed then get to know yourself and the by product will be all those material manifestations and experiences that you desire, because desiring them is a part of the process of being your true self. This isn&#8217;t about sacrifice because often what we pursue in life is not what our heart desires, but our head, which is why frustration is so apparent as an experience for most of us. By embracing your essence, if you identify it you are opening up a channel for anything and everything into your life, so sacrifice is the complete opposite of what is the truth.</p>
<p align="justify">So success is being who you truly are and being true to yourself all the time. There is no end goal really but an intention for unfolding your life as is congruent with your purpose, which will inspire you to set many goals along the way without attachment or fear. If you look at people in this world who are successful as agreed by most people then you will find that they have found what it is that is their essence and they are guided by it and they share it.</p>
<p align="justify">Dr. John DeMartini defines a genius as somebody who listens to their heart and follows what it tells them. That takes bravery, faith and focus, but those are all traits that you posses. To live every moment with bravery, faith and focus is to live successfully because you will be honoring your contract with your spirit, so to speak.</p>

</strong>Do you remember The Ecto Containment Unit in the movie <em>Ghostbusters?</em> If you remember the movie then you will know that whenever the Ghostbusters captured a ghost in a specially designed trap it was then deposited in the Ecto containment unit along with all the other trapped ghosts. &quot;Where is this going?&quot; You may ask. Well I do like analogy and I do like to find parallels between things that on the surface don&#8217;t look related at all.</p>
<p align="justify">The ecto containment unit is important for this article because of how it operates. It needs electrical power to maintain imprisonment of the ghosts it contains. <p align="justify">People have many beliefs that do not serve them. People believe things about themselves and the world around them, mostly unconscious of having those beliefs at all. These beliefs are held in the subconscious, which I also happen to think includes the cells of our bodies, hence many stress related diseases. In fact you hear people say when they become a little more aware of certain beliefs they have or shall we say &quot;problems&quot; that they have &quot;Demons&quot;, which is the context of Ghostbusters: The movie is just like the ghosts.</p>
<p align="justify">&#8230;And here is the main point.</p>
<p align="justify">The subconscious beliefs we hold within us that seem to control us consume energy. They are a creation of the ego and the ego, just like everything else requires energy for survival. The ego has only one source of energy seeing as it a creation of our minds and that source is <em>OUR energy</em>. So from day to day you are spending huge amounts of energy on maintaining beliefs, thoughts about the past, fears about the future, feelings of guilt, resentment, anger etc&#8230; which leave very little for you and you need this energy if you want to create your life as you desire it.</p>
<p align="justify">Your spirit is connected to infinite consciousness and this is a abundant supply of energy, in fact infinite, but your own &quot;ecto containment system&quot; taps the energy before it gets to where it really needs to be and leaves very little left for you to be as magnificent as you can be, so you could say that what we need to do is plug these leaks in energy, the leaks being each   non-serving belief or habitual thought patterns.</p>
<p align="justify">Sounds painful! How do we do that? Well fortunately, we don&#8217;t need to blast our beliefs down with a proton pack. What we must do is identify these beliefs and transform them. If you have a belief that you are unlovable, for example, once identified you can work on transforming that until you believe the opposite. Normally finding the root cause event will help dissolve such a belief very quickly once it is exposed.</p>
<p align="justify">Tools to help exercise your spiritual muscle, so to speak are what this website is about. I find regular meditation unearths non-serving beliefs in me gradually and can be dealt with. I don&#8217;t spend too much time &quot;trying&quot; to find my negative beliefs. I spend more time having dialogues with my intuition with the faith that I will be informed when I need to be. I am then able to focus on what I want to do (by doing it) and maintaining the discipline every day, so as to strengthen the connection between myself and my intuition: Disciplines like daily meditation, writing my life design morning and night, reminding myself as often as possible during the day of my heart&#8217;s desire and intention and living as much of it as is possible as achieved right now. It works!</p>
<p align="justify">On top of that. I have found that the following tools have helped accelerate this entire process. Holosync meditation, LPIP online course, The Silva Method, and the work of Dr. Robert Anthony. All of which are discussed on this website and will be discussed more in the future.</p>

</strong>I hear you say. Ha ha! Well I think it&#8217;s fair to say that all of us in some way are quite attached to having control over certain things. Some of us have quite an attachment to having everything under our control, which is a perfect recipe for misery if ever I saw one.</p>
<p align="justify">Even people who let others make all the decisions for them and those that do not actively try and get their opinions heard over everyone else&#8217;s are doing so out of a desire to control: The control of their own self preservation. With no decisions made by them they are not accountable for anything that goes wrong. You can&#8217;t get out of it. You are a control freak, at least some of the time.</p>
<p align="justify">You can only be a control freak when you are being automatic because that way of being is detached from the truth of who you are and that truth is, in a nutshell that control doe snot exist outside of yourself and that you don&#8217;t even need to focus on having control over any of the outside world. As I suggested in my last article, much of what we experience and create in our reality is automatic, which is why we often feel at the mercy of things happening to us, hence the desire to control everything and the way I see it is that all the while we are coming from a place of being automatic, or put another way, the more unconscious we are being, the more we are  attached to having control.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Am I saying that we have no control over our own lives?</strong><br />
Well, yes and no. It depends on where you apply your energy. When I say you cannot have control, which is normally the desire when being automatic, I am referring to things outside of yourself. The frustration we have when trying this tactic in our lives comes from the fact that we look outside into the world and we try and make things out in that world, the physical world, fit with our model, or map of it. Our reality comes from our mind&#8217;s programming and so the rest of the world outside needs to fit this map for us to be happy and for life to be the way we want it to be.</p>
<p align="justify">This is a recipe for guaranteed failure of course because the world outside of yourself is already manifested and you cannot &quot;un-create&quot; something, especially when the real cause of the reality you see came about without your total conscious awareness. If you are consciously aware, the reality you create will appear in a way that will not make you feel that it needs changing. It will already be a perfect match for the way you intended things to be, even if the way those things came into being were not of the exact order you may have intended. Your resultant situation will be the one you desire and the one that makes you feel happy.</p>
<p align="justify">This is where control is yours. You are the only one who thinks your mind. You are the only one who can see what you see, not just through your eyes, but your perception. Your perception and observation is unique and 100% created and chosen by you. This is where you have control. If you deliberately create your life with a disciplined mind set then you ultimately have more control because you will experience far less things in your reflected reality that need fixing or modifying. The irony is that as soon as you let go of the need to control the things in your life, whether it is situations or other people and instead look at how you create your reality and cause it to unfold moment by moment, you will feel totally in control of your life. Things will generally just go your way more often.</p>
<p align="justify">Isn&#8217;t that amazing? I have found that the times when I have had to solve a problem, the solution made itself clear to me and was effortless when I stepped back and let go of the need to erase the problem. The old cliche &quot;There are no problems, only opportunities&quot; may sound infuriating when your boss or your colleagues say it to you in a moment when you are being automatic, but just step away from the automatic and you will see that it is pure truth. When people say &quot;The truth hurts&quot; this is only the case when you are being automatic and hearing the truth causes a conflict within you. Your authentic self knows this truth, but your ego doesn&#8217;t want to accept it. Once you are being deliberate the truth really will set you free because it will free up the energy that your ego is spending to keep that particular mind pattern alive.</p>
