It's less stressful," she said. Pray also that it does NOT come back to our church."
Last week, Nevada wildlife officials tabbed the black bear to be around 700 pounds, confirming it may be responsible for as much as $70,000 in damage this year.
Last Saturday evening, the bear made the Village Church his next victim.
The church annually prepares and distributes food boxes to those in our community in need at Thanksgiving. He was inside schmoozing BCS bowl executives wearing garish, brightly colored blazers.
It seemed to be working.
"This is a great scene," Orange Bowl chief executive Eric Poms said at halftime outside the suite, his smile as bright as his orange sport coat.
Below him, Boise State's band spelled out "BCS 2010" on that fake blue grass.
After the No. 6 Broncos (12-0, 7-0 WAC) won at least a share of their seventh conference championship in eight seasons with a 44-33 win over Nevada late Friday night, coach Chris Petersen strayed for his usual, tempered BCS talk of "it will all work out." He was campaigning.
"We've got one more game (against lowly New Mexico State) and if we win, we've done everything we can

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - A conservative Iranian legislator warned Saturday that his country may pull out of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty after a U.N. resolution censuring Tehran - a move that could seriously undermine world attempts to prevent Iran from developing atomic weapons.
Iran's official news agency quoted a hardline political analyst who made the same point, another indication the idea could be gaining steam.
If Iran withdraws from the treaty, its nuclear program would no longer be subject to oversight by the U.N. nuclear agency. That in turn would be a significant blow to efforts to ensure that no enriched uranium is diverted from use as fuel to warhead development.
The lawmaker's threat came a day after the board of the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency passed a resolution demanding Tehran immediately stop building its newly revealed nuclear facility near the holy city of Qom and freeze uranium enrichment.
"The parliament, in

I thought that since I was an Iraq combat veteran, I didn't need any of that stuff. I was wrong. Both countries may be Muslim but this is a totally different place," says Sgt. Michael McCann, returning from a patrol in the east-central province of Logar.
While their experiences in the two war zones vary, for many soldiers in the field - if not policy makers - the conflict in Afghanistan is one they think may prove harder and long

Bin Laden's escape laid the foundation for today's reinvigorated Afghan insurgency and inflamed the internal strife now endangering Pakistan, it says.
Staff members for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's Democratic majority prepared the report at the request of the chairman, Sen. John Kerry, as President Barack Obama prepares to boost U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
The Massachusetts senator and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate has long argued the Bush administration missed a chance to get the al-Qaida leader and top deputies when they were

'Tis the time for Christmas scams ... be very aware of your receipts when you buy anything with a credit or debit card. Look for "cash back" listings, even if you didn't ask for an extra $10 or $20. Seems some checkout "artists" include a cash back on some receipts, then assume the customer won't check their receipt (which is true most of the time) and pocket the money. So check your purchases BEFORE you leave the checkout stand, and make corrections on the spot. If they do not correct your total, call the manager immediately and/or the police. Scams also are "charitable." Be sure and check out a charity before you give to it, even though it "sounds" OK. Go to Google to check these out before you cough up your hard earned dough. Caveat emptor.
***
Two fun plays are onstage in the area. Wild Horse Children's Theater will present Disney's "High School Musical 2" at the Children's Museum from Dec. 4 -19. (AP) - Snowfall is causing slick conditions on Interstate 80 over the Sierra Nevada.
The California Highway Patrol says there have been about two dozen traffic accidents on the highway since snow began falling early Friday.
So far only minor injuries have been reported, but the crashes have backed up traffic.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Sierra until 10 Friday night and says up to a foot of snow could fall at higher elevations.
California Highway Patrol Officer Todd Kettwig says drivers using I-80 should be prepared with snow chains and slow down.
---
Information from: The Sacramento Bee
