The two most important parts of this NWN leveling guide is the quest walkthrough and leveling methods. Quest walkthroughs are very helpful when you’re trying to speed-run through levels and will help you always understand where to pick up quests and how to find objectives as quickly as possible. It includes all leveling zones and quest hubs along with maps with locations of quest-giver NPCs and mission objectives. It also contains a very useful list of quests that take more time to complete and offer low rewards so you can easily maximize your time by skipping those quests and focusing on those that reward the most experience and best equipment.

The chapter about leveling methods includes tons of important tips and tricks you need to learn in order to level up as effectively as possible. I was actually quite amazed at the amount of strategies players have discovered so far and incorporating just some of them into my gameplay definitely quickened my leveling. It’s explained in much detail so I won’t go over it here but suffice to say it’s worth reading. Another helpful chapter talks about talent trees and ability rotations specifically optimized for leveling any class to the level cap as fast as possible. It definitely helps if you don’t want to do the analysis yourself and squeezing in extra damage or survivability can certainly improve the speed at which you progress through Neverwinter.

Killerguides also contains a great guide on leveling equipment which helps you pick up the best gear for every level and even tells you where to find it. It helps immensely to have the best items for your current level and this chapter is currently the best reference you can find about it. Lastly the guide includes a gold making chapter and an auction house guide. Killerguides has another guide which is specifically focused on generating gold in Neverwinter and it’s far more detailed (you can check it out here), but this chapter does cover some of the most important basic tips, tricks and strategies you definitely don’t want to miss out on. It will without a doubt help boots your coin income in NWN and I strongly suggest you not to skip reading it.

Is Killerguides worth it?

Navigating through a Wiki gives you hard numbers and facts and isn’t very useful to average players, while this guide is focused on explaining every single detail about many aspects of Neverwinter that you can really benefit from immediately. Considering the incredible amount of information and strategies you can find in Killerguides and its constant updates I believe it’s the best investment you’ll ever make. The guide may not be free but considering how incredibly comprehensive and useful it is it’s definitely downloading. You can check out the official Killerguides page to learn more about it. Neverwinter Leveling Guide by Killerguides – My Review

Of all the grand and bustling cities in Northern Faerûn, few rival the splendor of the metropolis that is Neverwinter. From the magical structures of Silverymoon and the sea-worn docks of Luskan to the sprawling streets of Waterdeep, travelers near the northern Sword Coast can visit a variety of towns and cities, all of which have their own unique areas and landmarks to explore.

Only one of these cities is known as the Jewel of the North.

Even in its present stage of rebuilding from the disaster of the Spellplague and the eruption of Mount Hotenow, the shadow of Neverwinter’s past glory falls long upon its neighboring regions. Standing tall within the city is Protector’s Enclave, the seat of power from which Lord Neverember stages his fortification of Neverwinter’s recovering districts. Imposing walls protect the city from orcs in the Tower District, foulspawn in the Chasm, and undead within the Neverdeath Graveyard, all of whom are clamoring to take over the Jewel of the North.

Neverwinter Jewel of the North Trailer

In case you get lucky and manage to gain access to the beta you’ll be able to play as a Trickster Rogue, Devoted Cleric or a Guardian Fighter, and be able to access content up to level 30. The first beta weekend starts February 8th and lasts until February 10th, and while you wait be sure to watch the newly released trailer below.

Neverwinter Ready For Beta Testing With New Trailer

In other news, Perfect World also opened their German and French websites, so if you’re from either of those countries you might want to check them out for some localized content. Obviously they’ll be catering to various player bases which I definitely applaud.

While no exact release date was yet given, it’s definitely great to know we can expect the release later this year. However, take that with a grain of salt, as most MMORPG release dates often get pushed further, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s released in 2013. In fact, I expect it, but in any case don’t forget to sign up for the beta on the official site to get a chance of trying the game early.

Neverwinter Releasing Q4 2012

There’s a few takeaways from the post I’d like to point out:

• Lore-wise, Neverwinter takes place about a century after the previous installments in the franchise, after several convenient cataclysms have altered huge chunks of the world outside the city of Neverwinter — and even inside the city limits. Players, as a result, will start at the center of the city, which serves as a common gathering area, and then move out from the core slowly while trying to help rebuild the city to its former glory.
• Cryptic is putting just as much effort into character customization as you find in other titles from the studio, and user-generated content is similarly being integrated from the ground up.
• While the final class list has yet to be released, the classes are more finely divided from the usual Dungeons & Dragons setup. You don’t just play a Wizard or a Rogue; you play a Control Wizard or a Stealth Rogue or an Archery Ranger or something similar. They’re builds evocative of certain common playstyles with classes; your Control Wizard doesn’t share the abilities of other types of Wizard.
• Players have access to a primary and secondary attack, two “special” attacks with short cooldowns, and an ability that has to be charged via Action Points before being unleashed. You also get one last Utility ability such as a quick dodge, a shield block, and so forth… and that’s it.
• Cryptic says that the game should be into beta sometime this year.
