My husband and I have driven from Austin to Killeen for the past 2 years to pick up Mama's Roti. It is the only place outside Houston, in Texas, where we can find it. It is the real thing! If it didn't have bones, I wouldn't be interested! We recommend it highly!!!

Vive Les Arts Theatre, a full-time arts organization which produces several Main Stage and Children's Theatre shows each year. This community theatre relies on local talent and contributions to produce its high-quality productions. Recent shows include the long-running Broadway hit Cats, Ain't Misbehavin' (a tribute to the songs of Fats Waller) and All Shook Up (a jukebox musical featuring the songs of Elvis Presley) Visit vlatheatre.com for information about auditions, classes and workshops, upcoming shows and more.

We enjoyed this place and have been back a few times. You assemble the ingredients in a large bowl and then they cook it for you! There is a wide selection to choose from:

chicken, beef, pork, ham, turkey pepperoni, scallops, shrimp, calamari (squid), fake crab, onion, spinach, potatoes, bamboo shoots, snap pea, water chestnuts, green beans, broccoli, zucchini, mushroom, bean sprout, cabbage, baby corn, celery, etc..

There are 12 different spices and 14 types of sauce, from mild to spicy to OUCH.

After the food is cooked they place it over your choice of starch in your bowl. The choices are: rice, noodles, pasta, fried rice, steamed rice, or brown rice.

There are recipe cards to help you create a dish and sauce if you are not sure what you want, and you can be as creative as you like. The staff is always friendly. The prices are moderate and they have a full bar. 1 time through is about $9 and that is a lot of food. Multiple trips will cost you around $11.

One great deal is that you can purchase an 18 oz. beer glass and forever after it costs $3.00 to refill that beer glass including Kirin Ichiban; just bring it back with you on your next visit. I find it funny that they decorate the bar with paper lanterns from Tsing Tao but the do not carry Tsing Tao Chinese beer!(I love that beer!)

Be careful If you get the squid they will overcook it every time, (but so do almost all of these kind of places.)

All in all a great place for a good meal. It is a fun place to take friends and great for the kids. Little ones will need a helping hand here, but teens and tweens will get enough to fill the bottomless pit!
