Our Thoughts:
My husband and I are seasoned renovators living in (and renovating) a 1901 house and I love to read, watch, or just talk about renovating! Especially old houses. So when the chance to review Moving In came up, I jumped on it because frankly it sounded hilarious. And I wasn't disappointed!

Moving In isn't just about renovating and the things that go wrong (and right!) but the trials it puts on relationships. Bruce and Scott have a lot of arguments through the renovation process but come out just as committed, if not stronger. I really enjoyed all the tales - getting to the house with the U-Haul, the hot tub, the pergola, the wild animals, the antique stove, the bees in the kitchen, the terrible roofers, the garage sales, and all the gardening. My husband and I both grew up out in the country and are no strangers to the wild animal adventures. We both long to get back out there and this book just fuels my imagination about finding another old house (preferably Victorian) to restore - although my husband would prefer we build new! I also enjoyed reading about Jasper, because I have a special love for dogs.

While I laughed my way through this book, I really appreciated the last chapter, The Gift. Bruce recalls meeting the original matriarch of the place and was able to show her what it looks like now, while she was able to show him with pictures, brochures, and post cards what it looked like when she and her husband ran it as a resort. We got to have a similar experience; back in 1997 when we completely gutted the kitchen - the first time - one of our neighbors, who has lived next door for many decades, brought us a surprise: an elderly lady that had grown up in our house, who saw all the big orange renovation permit signs in the windows and was curious to see what was going on. They came over and we gave a tour of the house. She described to us how it looked when she was there; which was vastly different (and certainly explained some oddities of the house!) from the many changes that had taken place in between her family leaving, others moving in and changing things, and us now. I wish she could see it now; we've done a lot more to it since then!

I enjoyed Bruce's writing style so much I am really looking forward to getting more of his books, especially his new one in the works, and one that is already available, The Bedtime Book for Dogs.

“You hungry, sweetheart?” His hot gaze left a trail on my skin and heated through more than one layer of fabric. The innuendo in his voice was unmistakable. He tucked a stray hair behind my ear with a super-warm finger whose touch promised tingling satisfaction. I held my breath and nodded. “For what?” he whispered.

I wanted to whimper. Wanted to melt right there on my kitchen floor. I’m good at bravado—up to a certain point—but being interrogated, even by a hottie, or especially by a hottie, turns me shy real quick. And Max’s stare-right-through-me intensity made me very shy, very quick. Made it hard to say that one little word…the one I so badly wanted to say: You. I opened my mouth but he’d started talking again.

“You see, I know all about hungers. About appetites.” He circled me slowly. Like a tiger using its steamy breath to tenderize its next meal. “And how to satisfy them.”

Maybe so. But surely I must come off as a rather odd case? I mean, I practically raped a pastry chef at a chamber of commerce event! Was there even help for people like me? Concern and embarrassment had me chewing my lower lip. I wanted badly to look away from his gaze—look anywhere but into his chocolate-drizzled eyes. But as if he could read my thoughts, he placed a finger under my chin and held me captive with that simple touch.

“All people have appetites,” he stated. “Your appetites, I know how to feed.” He smiled, and the corners of his eyes crinkled. “I will enjoy feeding them. If you will let me.”

I tried to hide a gulp. He sounded sincere. But how could it be? No man had ever made me such an outrageous offer. I had half a mind to put up a hand and stop him right there. But wasn’t this what I truly wanted? Or would I rather stay within the safe bounds of the pastry goal lines forever and watch my waistband expand? Alone? God. I could hear my mother’s voice…. You’ll never get married with those eating habits, Violet. No man will ever want you. Besides, bigger women can’t get pregnant very easily.

As if he could hear my thoughts, he said, “Even if you think some of your hungers are bad…or wrong.” He pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of my nose. “I assure you they are not. They are perfectly normal.” His arm slid around my back and pulled me close, hip to hip. My sex clenched in anticipation. “All of them.”

Jacqueline stood at the large picture window. Coming up behind her, Marcus wrapped his arms around her waist and took in the sweet aroma of her hair. He loved the way her fragrance lingered in his car or office hours after they had parted. Her signature smell was a constant reminder of her and the memory of it had gotten him through some long, sleepless nights these past couple of months.

“You smell so good.” He moved her hair to the side and trailed his lips along her neck. He’d always been so careful with her. He never wanted to overstep or make her feel uncomfortable. Her decision to spend the weekend with him had changed things. He couldn’t seem to keep his hands off her.

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to touch you like this.” Their casual dates and late night research sessions were getting harder to deal with. Each time he took her back to her apartment he’d prayed for her to invite him in. He often wondered if he would accept. She seemed to quietly respect his position on the subject of dating students. Always letting him take the lead, she never pushed him further than he was willing to go. He appreciated that, but he had to find a way to make her see just how much she meant to him.

“What took you so long, Professor?” She leaned her head back offering him more of her neck. “I was beginning to think it was me.”

“Never.” He gripped her hips before slipping his hands under the thin material of her t-shirt. “I have rules. At least, I did before I met you.” He circled his fingertips along the soft skin of her stomach. “I don’t like to create chaos.”

“Is that what I am?” She placed her hands over his and guided them to her breasts. His palms grazed her hardened nipples. “Chaotic?”

Her boldness surprised him but didn’t stop him from cupping her full breasts in his hands. “Now that you’re no longer my student…” He swirled his thumbs over her aroused nipples. “I’ll create as much chaos with you as you can handle.”

She turned to face him, his hands still caressing her nipples through the lace of her bra. Leaning closer to him, she brushed her lips along his jaw as she threaded her fingers through his hair. “I want more.”

“You’ll have it.” He removed his hands from underneath her shirt. “I promise.”

Be Sweat-Stain Free With Sweat Block

Just last month, I had to do a family photo thing and the mother-in-law wanted us all to wear white shirts. This was a huge problem for me. I honestly had no white shirts in my closet. None.

Why? I got tired of yellow sweat stains. It was just easier to buy everything in black.

Finally, someone has come up with a solution to this problem. Introducing Sweat Block, an antiperspirant in a tiny towelette form that stops sweating for up to 7 days! And if you don't sweat, you don't have stains.

I confess I had my doubts. My eyebrow was even arched as I read the box. But to my great surprise, IT WORKS.

First of all, you can order these online (visit the site link above) or you can find this product at your nearest Walmart. One box is an 8-week supply. After your shower and drying off *don't shave before using these. You don't want an open cut or anything so be sure to use it on non-shaving night*, gently DAB (do not wipe) one towelette under each armpit. Air dry. Go to bed.

Don't sweat it. Easy as that.

Pros:
-You literally don't sweat for up to 7 days. For me it was about 5. This will vary with individual.
-No sweat stains, no foul body odor.
-Lift your arms just like the people in those deoderant commercials who are terribly confident in their armpits.
-FDA compliant.
-While it's not hypoallergenic, as someone who suffers severe allergies, I am pleased to say I did not break out.

Cons:
-There's some discomfort the first time you apply it. They say this is normal, this tingling. They also say to apply it before bed. This caused me so much discomfort the first night, however, I honestly had a hard time sleeping. To avoid this the second time around, I applied it in the morning. Now, the second time around, I felt no sensation at all, so this may be a first-time application thing.
-I'm not fond of the smell, but it does beat body odor.
-You still have to wear deoderant. Why?
-You kinda have to walk around for a few minutes like a monkey, your arms out to your sides, while the stuff dries.

So, if you're a nervous sweater, an athlete who likes to avoid stinking, a menopausal sweater, whatever...give this a try. It really does work.

And feel she did. He was close enough now that she felt his warm breath touch her skin. Opening her eyes, she saw his focus was on her lips—his

She ached to grip his shirt and pull him to her. If they kissed, it would be passionate and ignite a fire deep within her. She hadn’t kissed another man since Steven. Could Luke be the first?

She pushed up on her tiptoes. She was going to do it. Reaching out, she was about to wrap her hand around his neck. Her gaze was locked on his, and it was as though they were moving in slow motion.

At first, Rex is helpless in this lawless world, but when the Latino staff realizes that Rex once met their icon, Vicente Fernandez, Rex becomes a local celebrity. And like the cowboys from his dreams, Rex discovers the love and respect of his family and the staff when he faces down the tyrannical owners of Rancho Park this homage to the Spaghetti Westerns of yore. My Thoughts

Rex is s a retired DJ who feels like he's a failure because he never fulfilled his dream of getting the lead role in a Western. After a back injury lands him in a nursing home, his obsession with all things cowboy seems to come to life. There's a villainous doctor trying to take advantage of a pretty nurse and an old bully whose son owns the place who calls all the shots. Corners are cut, employees are taken advantage of, and both the residents and the staff are praying for a hero. They find it an unlikely and sometimes grumpy old man. Its takes a while for Rex and the staff to warm to each other, but once they learn he met and shook the hand of a local celebrity back in his radio days, he becomes a living legend and he stands up to doctors and old bullies alike.

I liked this movie more than I expected to. I thought it was cute the way they tied life in the nursing home into Rex's cowboy obsession. Mr. Walker and his henchmen ride around on their scooters instead of horses. The quickest draw is a card game instead of a shoot out. Standing up to the villains in a big part of the film, but Rex also has to realize that even though he never landed the lead role in a film, he's still a star in the eyes of his family. Ernest Borgnine gave a stunning and realistic performance in his film, which was a wonderful finale to a lifetime of great accomplishments. 4 Stars

Our Thoughts

These are absolutely fantastic! Unlike a lot of other supplements, these do not have a gross aftertaste, or during taste either! I know this product is likened to starbursts, however they taste just like a fruit rollup (super fruit flavor), which I love. These little bursts were my morning snack, eating 3-4 and then I was good for the day.

Aside from the awesome taste of these, they have really done a number on my skin and nails. My face is almost completely clear, and it just looks "different", less oily, more "taught". My nails still break easily but they are growing in so much faster than they usually do and the tips of my nails are stronger and not so brittle anymore.

Our Thoughts

This product smells amazing and works great! I actually use this product on my face, since it's organic and I have a dry T-zone. My Thoughts

This is such a powerful documentary. Bill Moyers explores hatred, bigotry and racism throughout time and how it was effected the people of the world. He goes as far back in time to Cain and Abel but also ventures into modern day classrooms to see how hate has effected the human race as a people. Hate is not innate within us. It has to be taught. Bill searches for the answers across the borders of the world to find out where and why things like anti-Semitism and homophobia originated and how it has shaped people's lives. Why do people feel the need to hate each other? The documentary also focuses on some of the great people in history who have tried to overcome this hatred, including Nelson Mandela and Jimmy Carter. When you watch this series, you will feel a little more confident in the human race as a whole and our ability to eventually overcome our fears and paranoia. If nothing else, Bill Moyers shows us that our similarities are far greater than our differences.
