There are a lot of really amazing cars out there and it doesn’t matter if it is a brand new model or something that is considered more of a classic in its design. The fact is there are some fantastic machines that we have all come to truly love to drive. The trouble is there are also some disadvantages that many of these cars have and even though there has been a lot of advancement in the past few years regarding technology, there is still the majority of vehicles that do not yet utilize what you need so that you will be able to do a good job staying safe on the road. The best seen example of this idea in practice is the inefficient halogen headlights that are remarkably still being put in cars and trucks today. If you really want to have a good headlight system you need something much more substantial and projector headlights are the way to do this.

HID, or high intensity discharge lights, are headlights that work to make this a possibility. These are bulbs that use a special kind of gas that when it is heated to particular sets of ranges it will glow unique colors. Having projector headlights is the best way to go to make sure that you have the best kind of illumination possible.

It has become statistically accepted that when you are traveling beyond the daylight hours you are putting yourself at a greater level of risk no matter how you drive or what you do. The real numbers show that there are as much as 60 percent more driving related accidents at night than there are during the day and within this set of numbers almost half are at a greater risk of being killed. If you add to this that you are also using lighting that does not work as good as other known technology than you are foolishly risking you and your families lives for no reason.

Using projector headlights is a great way to reduce these risks and to also completely enhance the look and overall feel that your automobile projects. There is also some concern that some people have initially when they hear about projector headlights that they will be difficult to install land to find, but both of these myths could not be less true. For starters the installation and conversion kits that you use for HID lighting is a snap to put together and you can find projector headlights for sale all over the place.

Don’t become another number for people to sift through when you can easily and affordably make the change to something that could end up saving your life.

239 Fisker Karma cars will be recalled because of an issue with their batteries hose clamps.

The Fisker Karma has an issue with the battery apparently and while initially it was thought that only 50 cars were affected by it, it seems that 239 will be recalled. It seems that it’s a problem with the hose clamps and how they are positioned on the Li-Ion batteries. There is a possibility that coolant might leak from them and it could provoke a short-circuit in the batteries and fire. The recalled cars will have their batteries replaced. Only 225 cars were shipped by December 21st, so there is a good chance that all the cars shipped so far will be part of this recall.

For those that don’t know, the Fisker Karma is a $96k hybrid that has a total of three motors, with an autonomy of 50 miles just with the batteries. The car has 657 HP.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 2013 was revealed by the German manufacturer for the first time and it will show up at Detroit in January as well.

The 2013 SL was revealed by Mercedes-Benz and it appears that its first official showing will be at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2012. This is the 6th generation of the SL and it uses a new platform, though the basic recipe remains the same one.

The engines installed on it will be V6 and V8 and they will be mounted longitudinally. There will be a RWD configuration. The thing that makes this model special is the folding roof made from metal, which needs 20 seconds for the conversion.

Compared with the previous model, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL has a bold look and surfaces that are cleaner. It has a radiator grille which is inspired from the SLS and it’s much more efficient from an aerodynamic point of view. It’s also the first Mercedes-Benz car to be made entirely from aluminum, which allows it to be lighter than its predecessor by up to 140kg.

The first engine will be a 3.5L V6 engine, which allows the car to reach 100km/h in 5.9 seconds. The second engine will be a 4.7L V8, which will be used on the SL500. This one allows the car to reach the 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds, thanks to the 429HP. The gearbox is an automated model with 7 speeds in both cases.
