Where would you say that the message of the Gospel begins?  What is the starting point for discussion about salvation and the Good news that God saves?  Do you start with sin?

Today, we will tackle the difference between doubt out of which faith grows and the type of doubt that overwhelms and consumes us.  There is a type of doubt that can begin to define us as a person.

There is a realty that we do not know everything 100%.  One day, on the other side of the resurrection, we will not have any doubts.  We will know everything we need to know.  But on this side of the resurrection, we have to walk by faith.

All of us deal with doubt.  All of us are afraid that we are hiding a dirty little secret that is below this carefully constructed public façade.  We have these nagging little doubts.

Telling other people about Jesus has to be one of the hardest things for believers to do.  We somehow hope that if we do all the other things we might get a pass on sharing Jesus with other people.

It is a little early in the year to start talking about baseball, but the game has a way of teaching us the important things in life.  It is a GAME, but it offers a microcosm of insight about the real world.

What is wrong with a baby that never grows, never learns and never matures?  What is wrong with a Christian that never grows, never learns and never matures to the point where they can live like Jesus in the world?

As we enter into a brand new year, listen to yourself ask the question “Are we there yet?”  We are always on a journey.  A journey is, by nature, the desire to get from where you are to a place you want to be.

We have tunnel vision.  We only see our jobs, families, health and the immediate situation.  We get locked in.  God can see beyond.

There is an old church hymn that says “Count your many blessings, name them one by one.  Count your many blessings, see what God has done.”  I think we forget to do this.
