Recently, I heard a news story quoting the St. Paul Homeless Shelter saying that, for the first time in their history, because of the recession and budget cutbacks, they will begin turning people away this winter. It’s a sad situation, and I was inspired to record a reading of “The Little Match Girl” – a Christmas story by Hans Christian Anderson. This poignant story (about 7 minutes long*) is as relevant today as it was in 1857. There is also an inquiry to determine if anyone would be interested in forming a Readers Theater group with me.
