After the initial sketch and into the live show itself Murphy begins by saying how various people he referenced responded to their mention in the previous stand-up show by Eddie Murphy- Delirious.Mr T and Michael Jackson are mentioned, as well as the phone call he received from Bill Cosby, which he said that his son, Ennis, heard his profanity and requested that Murphy not say the word "fuck" on stage again, and began chastising him for his profane material. Murphy then went on to say that he called Richard Pryor, about what Cosby said, to which he responded angrily, calling him a "Jell-O-puddin' eatin' motherfucka", and that if his fans think its funny, then Cosby has no business telling him how to do his act. Murphy also talks about how Pryor was an inspiration to Murphy. Bolstered by Pryor's encouragement, Murphy stood up to Cosby in a profane manner, and as a result Murphy said that Cosby 'got raw', possibly the inspiration for the show's title.

Murphy makes jokes about relationships; notably of the practice that developed during the 80's of wives divorcing their husbands and taking 'half!', as well as about the faults of both men and women and how the opposite sex exploit those weaknesses, basing it on the message in the song "What Have You Done for Me Lately". He jokes that he intends to go deep into Africa to find a 'bush bitch' who has no concept of Western culture in order to get a wife who (he hopes) will not divorce him. He also makes passing references to Japanese women who are supposedly very obedient to their husbands.

Murphy delivers a well-received segment on Italian-Americans, on their stereotypical behaviour, especially how they behave after seeing a Rocky movie. He then talks about white people's apparent inability to dance. He later talks about his experience in a nightclub where an Italian-American started a fight with Murphy, causing a large brawl, the end result of which saw Murphy getting sued for millions of dollars by all involved and even a few who weren't.

Murphy also talks about his rude mother making him a biggest homemade onion-and-green-pepper hamburger that shaped like a meatball on Wonder Bread and an exaggerated account on how poor his family was, eventually going into a routine impersonating his father drunk, which follows on from the nightclub brawl segment.

LexCorp's CEO Lex Luthor has been elected President of United States during a severe nation-wide economic depression. Under his leadership, the economy begins to thrive and he assembles a force of government-employed superheroes consisting of Captain Atom, Starfire, Katana, Black Lightning, Power Girl, and Major Force. Meanwhile, Superman and Batman maintain their distrust toward Luthor.

The United States government discovers that a massive Kryptonite meteor is hurtling toward Earth. Instead of asking superheroes for aid and wanting to take credit for himself, Lex decides to destroy it with nuclear missiles. Lex arranges a meeting with Superman in Gotham City under the pretense of forming a pact. This results in a battle between the hired Metallo and Superman and Batman. Following the heroes' escape, Metallo is killed by an unknown assailant. Later that night, Lex pins Metallo's murder on Superman, using footage of their battle to implicate him. Lex claims that the radiation being emitted by the meteor affects Superman's judgment, and he places a one-billion-dollar bounty on the Man of Steel's head.

While breaking into S.T.A.R. Labs, seeking information on the meteor, Batman and Superman find Metallo's remains and realize that intense radiation has killed him. They are then attacked by an army of villains looking to collect on the bounty. The army includes: Silver Banshee, Captain Cold, Icicle, Killer Frost, Mr. Freeze, Gorilla Grodd, Bane, Black Manta, Black Spider, Brimstone,Catman, Cheetah, Copperhead, Deadshot, Kestrel, King Shark, Brutale, Despero, Giganta, Girder, Lady Shiva, Mongul, Captain Boomerang II, Nightshade, Parasite, Solomon Grundy, and Shrike. After some effort, most of the villains are defeated.

The remaining villains are defeated by Captain Atom, who has arrived with Lex's superhero team to arrest Superman. All but Power Girl, whose loyalties are divided, attempt to capture the heroic duo. Superman creates a hurricane using his superspeed, and the two heroes escape with Power Girl.

In Metropolis, Power Girl admits that she feels threatened by Lex, and doesn't believe Superman killed Metallo. Lex's superheroes catch up and the fight begins again, this time with Power Girl aiding Superman and Batman. The Dark Knight realizes that Major Force killed Metallo under Luthor's orders and goads him into admitting it in front of everyone. In anger, Power Girl punches him in the stomach with so much force that it ruptures his containment suit. Captain Atom, ashamed at his complicity in Lex's misdeeds, absorbs the energy, disintegrating Major Force and injuring himself in the process.

Meanwhile, Lex's missiles fail to stop the meteor due to the sheer amount of radiation being emitted. Amanda Waller discovers that Lex has secretly been taking kryptonite steroids, making him lose whatever rationality he had left. Lex decides to let the meteor hit the Earth so that he may rule what remains behind. Batman and Superman break into Lex's lab to retrieve data on the meteor's radiation. They end up in battle with Captain Marvel and Hawkman, eventually emerging victorious with Power Girl's aid. Though Lex is unwilling to relinquish the data, going so far as to erase it from the lab computers, Waller gives them a copy. Batman and Superman fly off to Tokyo to submit the meteor's data to the Japanese Toyman. Waller tries to have Lex arrested, but he injects himself with more kryptonite steroids and dons a power suit. After escaping Waller and the military, Lex follows Superman and Batman.

The Japanese Toyman has built a rocket-propelled spacecraft, intending to use it as a powerful missile to stop the meteor. The ship resembles a giant, robotic composite version of Superman and Batman. With the data, Toyman is able to calculate the necessary reinforcements needed for his own rocket so it won't explode before impact, as Luthor's missiles did. Lex arrives and disables the remote guidance systems. Batman volunteers to fly the ship himself, despite Superman's protests. Though initially faring poorly against Lex and his kryptonite power suit, Superman finally defeats Luthor in the streets of Metropolis in an aerial battle. Batman succeeds in destroying the meteor, and Superman finds him alive and well in an escape pod.

With the truth of Metallo's death public knowledge, Superman is cleared of the murder charge and Luthor is arrested, all the while ranting that he, as President, cannot go to prison. Batman then returns to Gotham while the Daily Planet's star journalist, Lois Lane, arrives and she and the Man of Steel happily embrace.

Bruce Wayne returns home to Gotham City from training abroad in martial arts, man-hunting, and science for the past 12 years, and James Gordon moves to Gotham with his wife, Barbara, after a transfer from Chicago. Both are swiftly acquainted with the corruption and violence of Gotham City, with Gordon witnessing his partner Detective Flass assaulting a teen for fun.

On a surveillance mission in the seedy East End, a disguised Bruce is propositioned by teenaged prostitute Holly Robinson. He is drawn into a brawl with her pimp and is attacked by several prostitutes, including dominatrix Selina Kyle. One of the two reporting police officers shoot him without provocation and take him in their squad car, but a dazed and bleeding Bruce maneuvers his handcuffed hands in front of himself, and demands the police get out. The cops try to subdue him, but the ensuing struggle causes the police car to careen out of control, and flips. Bruce flees, but not before dragging the police to a safe distance. He reaches Wayne Manor barely alive and sits before his father’s bust, requesting guidance in his war on crime. A bat crashes through a window and settles on the bust, giving him inspiration.

Gordon works to rid corruption from the force, but on orders from Commissioner Gillian Loeb, several officers attack him, including Flass, who threatens Gordon’s pregnant wife. In revenge, Gordon tracks Flass down, beats and humiliates him, leaving him naked and handcuffed in the snow.

As Gordon becomes a minor celebrity for several brave acts, Batman strikes for the first time, attacking a group of thieves. Batman soon works up the ladder, even attacking Flass while he was accepting a bribe. After Batman interrupts a dinner party attended by many of Gotham’s corrupt politicians and crime bosses, including Carmine "The Roman" Falcone, Loeb orders Gordon to bring him in by any means necessary.

As Gordon tries in vain to catch him, Batman attacks Falcone, stripping him naked and tying him up in his bed after dumping his car in the river. Assistant district attorney Harvey Dent becomes Batman’s first ally, while Detective Sarah Essen and Gordon, after Essen suggested Bruce Wayne as a Batman suspect, witness Batman save an old woman from a runaway truck. Essen holds Batman at gunpoint, but Batman disarms her and flees to an abandoned building.

Claiming the building has been scheduled for demolition, Loeb orders a bomb dropped on it, forcing Batman into the fortified basement. A trigger-happy SWAT team led by Branden is sent in, whom Batman attempts to trap in the basement. They soon escape and, after tranquilizing Branden, Batman dodges as the rest open fire, barely managing to survive two bullet wounds. Enraged as the team’s careless gunfire injures several people outside, Batman beats the team into submission and, after using a device to attract the bats of his cave, escapes amid the chaos. Selina Kyle, after witnessing him in action, dons a costume of her own to begin the life as costumed thief Catwoman.

Gordon has a brief affair with Essen, while Batman intimidates a drug dealer for information. The dealer comes to Gordon to testify against Flass, who is brought up on charges. Loeb blackmails Gordon against pressing charges with proof of his affair. After bringing Barbara with him to interview Bruce Wayne, investigating his connection to Batman, Gordon confesses the affair to her.

Batman sneaks into Falcone’s manor, overhearing a plan against Gordon, but is interrupted when Catwoman, hoping to build a reputation after her robberies were pinned on Batman, attacks Falcone and his bodyguards, aided by Batman. Identifying Falcone’s plan as the morning comes, the uncostumed Bruce leaves to help.

Gordon tries to rebuild the relationships with his family after Essen leaves Gotham. While leaving home, Gordon spots a motorcyclist enter his garage. Suspicious, Gordon enters to see Johnny Vitti, Falcone’s nephew, and his thugs holding his family hostage. Despite the fact Johnny states that they will call with demands later, Gordon realizes if they let them go they will most likely kill his wife and son. So Gordon shoots the thugs and chases Vitti, who has fled with the baby. Bruce Wayne, on a motorcycle, also rushes to chase Vitti. Gordon blows out Vitti's car tire on a bridge and the two fight, with Gordon losing his glasses, before Vitti and James Gordon Jr. fall over the side. Bruce leaps over the railing and saves the baby. Gordon realizes that he is standing before an unmasked Batman, but says that he is "practically blind without [his] glasses," and lets Bruce go.

Gordon ends with a final monologue: "It turns out that Flass had more evidence than we could keep track of. If there's one good thing Flass ever did, its put Loeb behind bars. Now, I have been promoted to captain. This guy just threatened to poison the reservoir. Calls himself 'The Joker'. Got a friend coming over to help. Should be here any minute." Gordon is standing on a rooftop in the final two sentences, implying that his "friend" is Batman.

In a warehouse, the Joker brutally beats a captured Robin with a crowbar while Batman races there. Robin, half-dead, is left trapped inside. Although he attempts to escape, a planted explosive destroys the building, taking Jason with it as Batman arrives too late to save him.

Five years later, a masked man known as Red Hood muscles his way into command of the drug trade, assuring protection from Batman and crime lord Black Mask in return.

Elsewhere, Batman intercepts a stolen truck carrying Amazo, an android weapon, and Nightwing arrives to help take it down. The drivers reveal they were under Red Hood’s orders before being assassinated by their boss. Batman gives chase, but after a brief chat at the plant that created the Joker, Red Hood escapes. Afterward, Batman and Nightwing interrogate Joker at Arkham Asylum for information; the clown merely taunts them with Jason’s death and denies involvement.

Angered over his stolen android, Black Mask puts out a hit on Red Hood who promptly hijacks another weapon shipment, with Batman and Nightwing expectedly interrupting. Red Hood eludes them once more, displaying exceptional skills. Batman soon discovers Red Hood knows his secret identity. Bruce also recalls that Jason once used such escape maneuvers, remembering that he became violent and impulsive as he grew older.

On the streets, Red Hood is attacked by the Fearsome Hand of Four, who had been hired by Black Mask as part of his efforts to take down the Red Hood. He stalls them to lure Batman out, and together they incapacitate three while Red Hood murders one. Red Hood insists he is taking criminals out, doing what the Dark Knight is unwilling to do. Batman asked what happened to him, and offers help that is quickly rebuffed. Bruce later uses a blood sample from the battle to confirm that Red Hood is in fact Jason Todd, back from the dead.

Pushed to his breaking point, Black Mask cuts a deal with the Joker: Release from Arkham in exchange for killing Red Hood.

Bruce discovers the body in Jason’s coffin is a fake. Enraged, he visits Ra's al Ghul – the man responsible – for the truth. Ra's reveals that five years previous he commissioned the Joker to distract the Dynamic Duo during a terrorism plot, but the clown went rogue and kidnapped Robin instead. To make amends, Ra's secretly attempted to revive Jason in the Lazarus Pit, which yielded disastrous results: The boy came back wild and fled.

Meanwhile, Joker abducts Black Mask and his associates to burn them alive in a bid for Red Hood’s attention. Red Hood reveals his plan the whole time was to free Joker and arrange a meeting. Batman intervenes, saving the criminals, but Red Hood gets away with a captured Joker in tow.

Red Hood vengefully beats Joker with a crowbar, and stashes him in an abandoned apartment before meeting Batman in Crime Alley. They fight. Jason insists that he’s a better vigilante because of his willingness to control crime and kill. Batman tells him he’ll never be better that way, and expresses his guilt over the incident. Jason forgives him, but is angry that Batman still lets the Joker live. Bruce says that although he’s thought every day about killing Joker, he can’t, because he knows if he starts killing, he’ll never stop. Dissatisfied with the answer, Jason gives Batman an ultimatum by demanding he choose between them: either Jason will shoot the Joker, or Bruce has to shoot Jason to stop him. Batman silently declines participation. Distraught, Jason aims his gun at his former mentor before it is quickly disabled. Red Hood, defeated and purposeless, activates a bomb and slumps to the ground in resignation. Batman knocks the Joker aside to try and save his old friend as the explosive goes off. When the smoke clears, the clown and Bruce survived, but Jason is nowhere to be found.

The Joker is returned to Arkham, Black Mask is back on the streets, and Alfred asks if he should take down Jason’s old Robin costume in the Batcave due to recent events. Bruce refuses, saying nothing has changed. A final memory shows Jason’s first day as Robin, and the young boy declares happily that it’s the best day of his life.

When Batman and the rest of the Justice League stop The Royal Flush Gang from a robbery, they find out with the help of Cyborg that the Gang has been using a technology to walk through walls, and upon interrogation, realize that its not the Gang's technology. While Cyborg starts investigating behind the technology, Batman retreats to the Batcave.

Once Batman reaches there, he is forced by Alfred to rest. Once the cave is empty, Mirror Master (who had been hiding in the Batmobile) uses a LexCorp technology to hack into the Batcomputerand downloads crucial information on orders of an unknown boss.

Bane goes to the Slaughter Swamp outside Gotham City where he runs into Star Sapphire, Metallo, Ma'alefa'ak and Cheetah. The group then enter the Hall of Doom, where the are welcomed byVandal Savage, who is also accompanied by Mirror Master. Already given $10 million each to attend the meeting, Vandal Savage offers them $100 million each for killing off each member of Justice League, to which, every one accepts. He then gives them fool-proof plans on how to defeat each member.

Bruce Wayne receives news from Alfred that the bodies of Thomas and Martha Wayne have been stolen. When Bruce confronts the employee who reported the incident, the employee reveals himself as Bane, and knocks-off Bruce into an empty grave. Bruce Wayne wakes up next to his father's grave, and forces his way out of the grave.

In his human form, Martian Manhunter celebrates his birthday with his friends when he receives a drink from an unknown woman. She later turns out to be Ma'alefa'ak, who had poisoned the drink, which would force Martian Manhunter to reveal his true form in front of everyone as well as be flammable. Ma'alefa'ak burns Martian Manhunter, and leaves him burning.

Cheetah poisons Wonder Woman with a serum which would show any person near the latter as the former. Intending on never giving up a fight, Wonder Woman also causes damage to Cyborg who eventually cures her.

Barry Allen finds out about a train robbery in progress by Mirror Master. He confronts him in his Flash atire, but is tricked into having a bomb attached to his wrist, which would go off if he tries to remove it, do nothing for 50 seconds or decelerate. This leaves Flash with no choice but to keep running at his fastest speed.

Green Lantern is called upon by the FBI, and is asked to capture a group terrorists, who are hiding in a salt cave, and have kidnapped 6 hostages. After defeating them all and saving the hostages, Green Lantern confronts the boss who kills Carol Ferris before the former could do anything. Left with pain over how he had caused Carol only pain, Hal abolishes his Green Lantern persona.

Clark Kent receives a call from Lois Lane, who informs him that Henry Ackerson, a former Daily Planet employee who was Laid off, was about to commit suicide. When Clark, in his Superman attire, approaches Henry, the latter reveals himself as Metallo, and shoots the former with a Kryptonion bullet, leaving Superman fatally wounded.

Assuming all members of The Justice League are defeated, Savage reveals his plans to kill off half of the human population with the help of a solar flare, and start over the world. As an offer to join him, Savage offers each of the members of the Legion of Doom a territory of the world, to which all accept.

Once Batman is back, he finds out that all of the members of The Justice League are under attack by the plans he himself had created. Knowing ways how to save them, he one by one saves them all, and tells them about what had happened. The Justice League confronts the Legion of Doom, overpowering everyone including Savage, but are not able to prevent the solar flare. Cyborg deduces that the Hall of Doom would survive the Flare, and the Justice League works on preventing the Earth from any damage through it.

On a meeting, Superman announces that Vandal Savage has been imprisoned for life without parole possibility. He also announces the inclusion of Cyborg as a member of the Justice League. He then announces a vote call for letting Batman leave or stay in the Justice League. Allowed to speak in his defense, Batman shows no regret over his motives and decides to leave the Justice League himself. Realizing that Batman is right, Superman gives Batman a Kryptonite Bullet which the latter could use if Superman goes rogue as Batman leaves.

CIA agents and best friends FDR Foster (Chris Pine) and Tuck Henson (Tom Hardy) are deployed to Hong Kong to prevent international criminal Heinrich (Til Schweiger) from acquiring a weapon of mass destruction, but the mission goes awry, resulting in the death of Heinrich's brother Jonas (Clint Carleton) and Heinrich swearing revenge against them. For their protection, their boss, Collins (Angela Bassett), assigns them to desk duty upon returning to America.

FDR is a womanizer, whose cover is that he's a cruise ship captain, while Tuck, who presents himself as a travel agent, has an ex-wife, Katie (Abigail Spencer), and a son, Joe (John Paul Ruttan). After seeing a commercial for online dating, Tuck decides to sign himself up and is paired with Lauren Scott (Reese Witherspoon), a product testing executive who's dealing with the recent engagement of her ex-boyfriend. Her best friend, Trish (Chelsea Handler), has signed her up for the same online dating site. FDR insists on being Tuck's backup for the date and hides nearby, but Tuck & Lauren hit it off.

Shortly thereafter, FDR runs into Lauren at a video store and tries to flirt with her, not knowing she's Tuck's date, but she notices that he's a ladies' man and ignores him. Intrigued, FDR crashes into one of Lauren's test groups and convinces her to go on a date with him, where they also enjoy themselves. Lauren feels guilty about dating two men at the same time, but is convinced by Trish to make the best of the situation.

FDR and Tuck soon discover that they're seeing the same woman and decide not to tell her that they know each other, to interfere with each others' dates, nor have sex with her and let her come a decision between them. However, they soon break their rules and use CIA technology to spy on her and discover her preferences, as well as try to sabotage one another. FDR and Lauren eventually have sex, and Tuck and Lauren nearly do as well, before Lauren interrupts it, feeling bad about herself.

One day, Lauren invites Tuck to lunch, while FDR discovers that Heinrich has come to America to get revenge against them. He interrupts Lauren's date with Tuck to warn him, but Tuck doesn't believe him and they get into a fight, during which Lauren discovers that they're friends and decides to leave alone with Trish. At that moment, they are captured by Heinrich and his men, who are pursued by FDR and Tuck.

FDR and Tuck rescue Lauren and Trish after a car chase, in which they reveal that they are CIA agents and, on Lauren's advice, shoot the headlights on Heinrich's car, deploying the airbags and sending Heinrich's car spiraling out of control. FDR and Tuck, on different sides of the road, urge Lauren to come to their side, and she ultimately choses FDR as Heinrich dies when his car swerves off the bridge and crashes below. Lauren decides to be with FDR, and Tuck makes amends with him. Tuck soon reconciles with Katie and they get married once more.

Shortly thereafter, FDR and Tuck are about to parachute out of a cargo plane when FDR reveals that he'll marry Lauren, and also that he had sex with Katie before she met Tuck, and no longer feels guilty about it because Tuck had sex with Lauren. Tuck, however, reveals that they didn't go all the way and angrily tackles FDR out of the plane.

The film begins with eight men eating breakfast at a Los Angeles diner. Six of them are using aliases: Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), Mr. Blue (Eddie Bunker), Mr. Brown (Quentin Tarantino), Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), and Mr. White (Harvey Keitel). With them are gangster Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tierney) and his son, "Nice Guy" Eddie (Chris Penn).

After they leave the diner, the action abruptly cuts to a speeding car, in which Mr. White is comforting Mr. Orange, who has been shot in the abdomen and is bleeding badly. They arrive at an abandoned warehouse. Mr. Pink arrives next, and he angrily suggests that the group’s diamond heist, orchestrated by Joe Cabot, was a setup, due to the rapid police response. The men also discuss the actions of Mr. Blonde, who murdered several civilians in the jewelry store after the alarm had been triggered. Mr. White is angered that Joe Cabot, an old friend of his, employed such a psychopath and agrees about the possibility of a setup. Mr. Pink also reveals that he escaped with the diamonds and hid them in a secure location. They argue over whether to take Mr. Orange, who is now unconscious, to a hospital, and Mr. White reveals that he told Mr. Orange his true first name and where he was from.

Mr. Blonde, who has been watching them from a distance, steps forward and ends the dispute. Mr. White berates him for his deadly rampage, but Mr. Blonde calmly dismisses the criticism. He tells the others to stay as Nice Guy Eddie is on his way. Mr. Blonde has captured a police officer, Marvin Nash (Kirk Baltz), and the three men beat Nash in an attempt to find out who the informant is. Eddie then arrives at the warehouse, and orders Mr. Pink and Mr. White to assist him in retrieving the stolen diamonds and disposing of the hijacked vehicles, while Mr. Blonde stays with Nash and the unconscious Mr. Orange.

Alone with Mr. Blonde, Nash denies any knowledge of a setup, but Mr. Blonde is uninterested and wishes to torture Marvin for his own amusement. As the radio plays the Stealers Wheel song, "Stuck in the Middle with You", Mr. Blonde does a menacing dance, slashing at Marvin's face with a straight razor and severing his right ear. He then douses Marvin in gasoline, but before he can ignite it, Mr. Orange shoots and kills Mr. Blonde. Mr. Orange tells Nash he is an undercover cop, and reassures Marvin that a massive police force is in position nearby but is waiting until Joe arrives before moving in.

Eddie, Mr. Pink, and Mr. White return to the warehouse to find Mr. Blonde dead. Mr. Orange claims that Mr. Blonde was going to kill all of them and take the diamonds for himself. After impulsively pulling out his gun and killing Nash, Eddie rejects Mr. Orange’s claims, telling him that Mr. Blonde was a close personal friend who had always remained loyal to him and his father. As Mr. Orange struggles to justify his actions, Joe arrives and reveals that Mr. Blue is dead, and confidently accuses Mr. Orange of being an informant, forcing Mr. White to defend his friend.

Joe is about to execute Mr. Orange when Mr. White pulls his gun on Joe, and Eddie in turn trains his gun on Mr. White. A Mexican standoff ensues. Suddenly Joe shoots Mr. Orange, wounding him again, Mr. White shoots and kills Joe in response, Eddie shoots Mr. White, severely wounding him, and Mr. White shoots and kills Eddie.

Mr. Pink, who hid under the stairs to avoid the shootout, takes the diamonds and flees the warehouse. Police sirens and shouting are heard outside, followed by several shots. As Mr. White cradles Mr. Orange in his arms, Mr. Orange reveals that he is in fact an undercover cop. This devastates Mr. White, who begins sobbing in frustration and points his gun at Mr. Orange's head. The police storm the warehouse, demanding that he drop his gun; Mr. White refuses and shoots Mr. Orange, and the police open fire on Mr. White as the film ends.

Rachel White (Ginnifer Goodwin) is a single, cute attorney working in a New York law firm. After too many drinks on her 30th birthday, Rachel grabs a cab with Dex (Colin Egglesfield) and playfully reveals she has had a crush on him since law school. The problem is, Dex is also her best friend Darcy's (Kate Hudson) fiancé. They wake up in bed together the next morning to Darcy calling both of their phones. Dex sneaks out and they do not have time to speak about what happened between them. What Rachel thinks is a one night stand, is actually the beginning of an emotional roller coaster once Dex tells Rachel he is in love with her. What also follows is a web of lies created by Rachel and Dex to Darcy and several others. Rachel continuously conjures up false stories of sexual relationships with Ethan and Marcus to cover up her sexual encounters with Dex.

Ethan (John Krasinski) has been friends with Darcy and Rachel since childhood. He is the only one who knows what has happened between Rachel and Dex, which he is reluctantly keeping a secret.

Meanwhile, Dex’s mother (Jill Eikenberry) has been suffering from depression for some time and Dex and Darcy’s wedding is the only thing keeping her sane and happy.

When Dex skips out on 4 July weekend in the Hamptons to stay in the City and spend time with Rachel, they run into his parents. His father suspects something is going on between the two of them and he tells Dex to end it as soon as possible, saying that what he wants should not be considered a priority when it conflicts with what is right. Considering his mother and father’s feelings, Dex gives Rachel the cold shoulder and leaves her to go back to Darcy (who has been partying the Hamptons all weekend with Dex’s friend, Marcus).

As the wedding nears, Dex and Rachel are speaking less and less. At the beach, their secret is almost revealed by Ethan, who is frustrated with Rachel not taking what she wants and especially lying to people she cares about, but Rachel stops him by hitting him in the face with a badminton racket. This results in his nose becoming very badly broken. Ethan is frustrated with Rachel because she doesn't see that he is the only one who really cares about her. That night at the bar, Rachel finally tells Dex that she wants him to call off the wedding so they can be together, but he tells her that he can't.

Ethan moves to London for a job and Rachel flies out to visit him. He reveals that he loves her and just wants to see her happy, but is sad that Rachel refuses to see what's right in front of her. Rachel returns to New York to find Dex sitting on her doorstep. He reveals that he ended things with Darcy and called off the wedding.

Rachel is ecstatic until Darcy ends up at her door begging to come in to talk. Dex hides and Darcy enters her apartment. She tells Rachel that she ended things with Dex and has been cheating on him with his friend Marcus. She is also pregnant with Marcus’ child and says that they are very happy. Rachel gives her her blessing and Darcy proceeds to leave but only to return and ask what Dex’s jacket is doing in her apartment. Dex then comes out and Darcy figures out Rachel is the other woman. She becomes infuriated and storms out of the apartment, telling Rachel that she hates her.

Two months later, Rachel and Darcy ran into each other on the street. They have not spoken since the incident and Darcy says that she is happy, but doesn't sound so convincing. Rachel is unapologetic for sleeping with Dex, but is sorry for hurting Darcy. As they leave, they turn back and glance at each other, with Darcy smiling and waving. Rachel walks around the corner to Dex sitting on a bench. They walk down the street together.

The film ends with an ambiguous scene during the credits. Darcy shows up to surprise Ethan in London; Ethan tries to ignore her and briskly walks away. The screen turns black with text indicating that the story is to be continued, which may indicate that a movie based on Something Blue, which is the book sequel to Something Borrowed,^[3] will follow.

In the Edwardian era, young solicitor Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) lives with his four-year-old son Joseph (Misha Handley) and his son's nanny (Jessica Raine). Kipps' wife Stella (Sophie Stuckey) died after childbirth. Kipps has visions of her and is facing financial problems along with stress from his firm. He is assigned to handle the estate of Alice Drablow who owned Eel Marsh House in the North East of England, where she had lived with her husband, son Nathaniel and sister Jennet Humfrye (Liz White). Although the locals are unwelcoming, Kipps gets a room in the local village inn and makes friends with Sam Daily (Ciarán Hinds), a wealthy landowner who invites Kipps to have dinner with him and his wife Elizabeth (Janet McTeer).
At Eel Marsh House, located on an island in the marshes which is linked to the mainland only by a long causeway which is covered at high tide, Kipps starts working on the paperwork, but he repeatedly hears footsteps and sees a woman dressed in black. Kipps reports the sighting at the local police station. While there, two boys bring in their sister Victoria (Alexia Osborne) who has drunk lye and she dies in Kipps's arms. She is not the first child in town to commit suicide and the townspeople believe the "Woman in Black" comes for their children as revenge for her child being taken from her.
Kipps and Sam arrive at Jerome’s house, the local solicitor. The house is empty and they hear a noise from the cellar. Kipps peers through a hole in the cellar door and jumps back when a young girl’s face suddenly appears and shouts at him, believing he killed Victoria.
After returning to the house, Kipps discovers that Nathaniel drowned during a carriage accident and Jennet hanged herself. Kipps also discovers notes claiming that Jennet was mentally unstable and was not allowed to care for Nathaniel who was actually her son, although this fact was hidden by Alice who raised him as her own.
The villagers want Kipps to leave but he refuses, wanting to protect his job. Sam tells Kipps about the tragic suicides and says that his only son drowned. Elizabeth says her son communicates through her by possession and she draws a hanging woman who Kipps realises is Jennet.
Later on, Kipps goes back to the house and Sam lends him his dog as company. Throughout the night, he has many paranormal experiences with the Woman in Black and all the children that committed suicide. The next morning, Sam and Kipps return to town to see the local solicitor's house on fire. Kipps rushes inside to rescue Lucy the solicitor's daughter (Aoife Doherty) who has been locked in the cellar to protect her, where he sees the Woman in Black manipulate the girl into setting herself on fire.
Kipps visits Mrs Daily again. In a trance she reveals that Joseph is the next victim. Kipps realizes he must put Nathaniel to rest by giving him a proper burial. Kipps and Sam go to the Marsh, locate Nathaniel's body buried in the marsh, pull it out using Sam's car and lay him out in the nursery. The Woman in Black appears, attacks Kipps and leaves. They finally lay Nathaniel to rest by burying him with his real mother Jennet. After they leave the Woman in Black repeats a line from her letter to her sister "I will never forgive".
Kipps is reunited with his son at the railway station and plans to leave immediately. While bidding Sam goodbye, Kipps turns to his son, joseph, walking along the tracks towards a fast approaching train. Sam notices the woman in black along the platform as Kipps jumps onto the tracks to save Joseph. As the train passes, Sam looks through the windows to see the unrested souls of all the children the woman in black has claimed. Still standing on the tracks with Joseph, Kipps looks up to see the now deserted platform. Joseph says "Daddy, who is that lady?". Kipps looks around and smiles replying "That's your Mummy...". Realising he and his son have died he kisses his son and takes his wife's hand. All three of them are reunited in death as The Woman In Black looks on.

Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), an ex-CIA agent turned international criminal, acquires a series of secret files detailing the illegal activities of several worldwide peacekeeping agents, which makes him a target of mercenary Vargas (Fares Fares) and his men. In order to escape, Frost surrenders at an American embassy and is moved to a CIA safe house in Cape Town, South Africa.
The safe house's "housekeeper" is Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds), a low-level agent who lives in Cape Town with his girlfriend, Ana Moreau (Nora Arnezeder). He witnesses as Frost is interrogated by Daniel Kiefer (Robert Patrick), but the interrogation is interrupted by the arrival of Vargas and his men, who kill everyone inside. Weston escapes with a captive Frost at a chase through the streets of Cape Town, and then contacts his mentor, Sam Barlow (Brendan Gleeson). The call is intercepted by Catherine Linkater (Vera Farmiga), another CIA operative who orders Weston to stay off-grid and await for further instructions.
Weston hides at a run-down apartment, with Frost in tow, and calls Ana, who reveals that there's a suspect car parked outside her house. Weston suggests that she might be in danger and tells her to leave the house. Shortly thereafter, Weston receives a call from Linkater, instructing him to go to Cape Town Stadium and retrieve a package at a locker containing a GPS with the location of a second safe house not very far away.
Weston holds Frost at gunpoint and succeeds in retrieving the GPS at the stadium, but Frost claims to a nearby policeman that he's being kidnapped by Weston, and Weston is arrested. Frost is sent to the stadium's infirmary, where he quickly dispatches the guards and escapes by disguising himself as a policeman. Weston sees everything from the interrogation room's security cameras and escapes, catching up to Frost at the parking lot, where Frost overpowers him and escapes.
Weston contacts Barlow again, and is ordered to go to the nearest American embassy, where the CIA will take over. However, Barlow uses an expression that Frost had taught Weston is actually a code for incoming problems. Weston instead meets Ana on a local train station, where he reveals that he's a CIA agent and tearfully sends her to her mother's house. Weston then uses a nearby internet center to locate the house of Frost's contact in Cape Town, Carlos Villar (Rubén Blades). Unbeknownst to him, he's being monitored by the CIA.
At Villar's house, Frost is attacked by Vargas and his team, but escapes with Weston's help. In the process, they learn that Vargas is actually wanting for the CIA, which is seeking to retrieve the files. Frost deduces that there's a traitor in the CIA and heads to the second safe house with Weston, where Weston gets into an altercation with the acting housekeeper. He helps Frost to escape before passing out from wounds sustained in the fight, and Frost leaves. Meanwhile, Linkater, who was investigating the connection between Vargas and the CIA, is executed by Barlow, who is the traitor.
Weston awakens with Barlow by his side, who reveals that the file contains incriminating evidence against him. As Barlow prepares to kill Weston, Frost returns and eliminates Barlow's assassins. Barlow attempts to escape with Weston, but Frost explodes Barlow's car and rescues Weston. However, Barlow is able to crawl out of the wreckage and shoot Frost in the back before being shot dead by Weston. With his dying breath, Frost gives Weston the files.
Weston later meets with CIA's director Harlan Whitford (Sam Shepard), who asks Weston about the files' location. Weston denies being told by Frost where they're hidden, and, before leaving, is remind by Whitford that whoever has those files will have many enemies. Weston nods, and leaks the files into the internet moments after leaving. While Whitford and other CIA personnel are called to court for questioning regarding their law violations, Weston has a brief encounter with Ana in Paris, France. They can no longer stay together due to her safety, and part ways after sharing a smile.

In 1927, silent film star George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is attending the premiere of his latest film, A Russian Affair. Outside the theater, Valentin is posing for pictures for the press when a young woman, Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo), admiring Valentin from a packed crowd of adoring fans, drops her autograph album. She bends down to retrieve it and is accidentally pushed into Valentin, who reacts graciously and makes a show of it for the press photographers. The next day, Miller finds herself on the front page of Variety with the headline "Who's That Girl?" Later, Miller auditions as a dancer and is spotted by Valentin, who insists that she have a part in Kinograph Studios' next production, despite objections from the studio boss, Al Zimmer (John Goodman). With a little guidance from Valentin, Miller slowly rises through the industry, earning more prominent starring roles.

Two years later, Zimmer announces the end of production of silent films at Kinograph Studios, but Valentin is dismissive, insisting that sound is just a fad. He decides to produce and direct his own silent film, financing it himself. The film opens on the same day as Miller's new sound film, which also happens to coincide with the 1929 stock-market crash. Now Valentin's only chance of avoiding bankruptcy is for his film to be a hit. Unfortunately audiences flock to Miller's film instead and Valentin is ruined. His wife, Doris (Penelope Ann Miller), kicks him out, and he moves into an apartment with his valet, Clifton (James Cromwell). Miller goes on to become a major Hollywood star.

Later the bankrupt Valentin is forced to auction off all of his personal effects, and fires Clifton, who is reluctant to leave Valentin despite the fact that the actor has not paid him for a year. Desperate and drunk, Valentin sets a match to the celluloid canisters of his earlier films, and is trapped in his house as the fire spreads. His dog attracts the help of a nearby policeman, and after being rescued Valentin is hospitalized for injuries suffered in the fire. Miller visits the hospital and asks for him to be moved to her house to recuperate. He awakens in a bed there, to find that Clifton is now working for Miller.

Miller insists that Valentin co-star in her next film, threatening to quit Kinograph Studios if Zimmer does not agree to her terms. After Valentin learns that Miller had purchased all his auctioned effects, he returns to his burnt-out apartment. Miller arrives, panicked, and finds that Valentin is about to attempt suicide. The two reconcile, and remembering that he is a superb dancer, Miller persuades Zimmer to let them make a musical together.

Sound finally comes in as the film starts rolling for a dance scene with Miller and Valentin. Once the choreography is complete, Zimmer calls "Cut! Perfect. Beautiful. Could you give me one more?" Valentin, in his first audible line, replies "With pleasure", in a strong French accent.
