New Film Project is showcasing their first film festival this Friday night at Muse Music Cafe in Provo (151 N University Ave.) at 8:00 PM. Tickets are only $5.00 for students, $7.00 for adults. Come for an evening of laughs and to support some of the best local talent. Make sure to arrive early, as seats are limited. New Film Project (our partner organization founded by members of NPP), is hosting a 96 Hour Film Festival. Today was the early sign up, but it’s not too late to jump on board with your friends, create a five minute film by Saturday night, get it featured in front of a large audience at Muse Music in Provo, and win a cash prize. New Play Project’s 1st 24 Hour Play Festival

What: 24 Hour Play Festival and Fundraising Event

Where: Performance – Provo Tabernacle Park (50 S University Ave., Provo); Thursday Meeting -
“the slab”, Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU Campus, Provo

When: For Audience – Friday, August 26th, 7:30 PM; For participants – Beginning Thursday, August 25th, 7:30 PM

Who: Anyone can be a part of the event (contact us), and anyone can watch it.

Admission: FREE, though if you enjoy the show, we invite you to make a contribution to our non-profit organization

Description: New Play Project is putting together its first 24 hour Play Festival in the park. It’s fun. It’s fresh. It’s crazy. It’s non-profit theatre at its best, and we want you to join the festivities. We’re still looking for actors, crew members, and most importantly, an audience. So come be a part of an unforgettable evening in the park that will inevitably be filled with teary-eyed laughter.

Your donations will be used to help further support our film WWJD as well as NPP’s future so that we can continue to produce values-driven works that make hundreds of people happy.

“WWJD” Kickstarter Fundraising

Things are moving forward, and we are very excited about WWJD, our first feature film at New Play Project!

We will be shooting WWJD on a very limited budget, but we still need to raise quite a bit of money. Last night we launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter. We’ve set a goal to raise $5,000 in 60 days–if we make the goal, we get to keep the money, but if we don’t, none of our donors are charged for their pledge, and we get nothing. We also have rewards for donations at every level–including finished copies of the film. The Kickstarter page provides more information about the project (including a pitch video and a link where you can read the script to the original play for free online).

We’re incredibly grateful for whatever support you’re able to give (even a dollar or two makes a difference!), and please help us by spreading the word and sharing the Kickstarter link through Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail.
