Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, Lonesome River Band to appear in 2012

Our tenth edition promises to be a great one with some of bluegrass music's top artists performing on the CIEU-FM Bluegrass Stage.

The "Queen of Bluegrass", Rhonda Vincent & the Rage will be featured on Friday. The Kirksville (Missouri) native has been performing for over 25 years and has won numerous awards including International Bluegrass Music Awards (IBMAs) as "Entertainer of the Year" in 2001 and "Female Vocalist of the Year" seven consecutive years form 2001 through 2006.
Nashville's Lonesome River Band has been one of the most respected bands in bluegrass music for over 30 years, and although the band members have changed throughout the years, LRB remains as popular as ever. They'll be on stage on Friday and Saturday.
Another band making their first appearance at the festival will be the Roys. This brother and sister led band is based in Nashville, but has roots in New Brunswick and spent part of their youth in Coal Branch. Fans will be hearing a lot more of the Roys in 2012, as they've just signed as deal to host a weekly variety/music TV series and are considered to be one of the most promising up and coming groups in bluegrass/country music. The Roys will be on the CIEU-FM Stage on Thursday and Friday.

The Bluegrass Diamonds, the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, Ray Legere & Acoustic Horizon and Janet McGarry & Wildwood will also be on hand in 2012.
Bands already confirmed for our popular "After Hours Barn Dances" on theCoors Light Stage include the Clemville Kids and Pamela Rooney & the Exceptions.

FREE rough camping

As always, rough camping is free all week with the purchase of a weekend pass! Pass holders may arrive on Sunday August 26 and stay until Monday September 3, and there are lots of music and activities to keep you entertained!

A week of music, camping and fun for the entire family

The New Richmond Bluegrass Festival is more than just a music festival.
The festival takes place at the Gaspesian British Heritage Village, an 82 acre historical site, and we put all of it to good use.
And since the 2012 edition is our tenth anniversary, we're throwing you a party.

Of course, your weekend or VIP pass includes camping all week, and with everything we have planned, you'll want to plan to spend the entire week.

In addition to bluegrass shows and jams which will take place all week, activities for the entire family will be taking place daily in the "Village", Monday through Friday. And it's included in your festival admission.

- Free guided tours will take place daily. For more information and times, check in at the admissions office. ($)

- Darlene's Tea Room will be open daily for coffee and tea, as well as home made light meals and desserts. ($)

- Tour the Village the old-fashioned way. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available Monday - Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. ($)

- Nature lovers can enjoy our lovely wooded trails and beach.

- Visit the Village Blacksmith Shoppe, and see a real blacksmith at work.

- The Duthie's Point Lighthouse offers a great photo op. Enjoy the splendid view of the Bay of Chaleurs - one of the "World's Most Beautiful Bays" - and stay around to see one of our breath taking sunsets.

- The New Richmond area has many attractions - Taylor's Point Park, the Grand and Little Cascapedia Rivers, and the Pin Rouge Tourist Station are just a few of them. Feel free to ask one of our volunteers or employees for more information.

The CIEU-FM Stage

The CIEU-FM Stage is our main bluegrass stage. Some of bluegrass music's best artists will perform on the CIEU-FM stage from Thursday to Sunday. Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, the Lonesome River Band, the Bluegrass Diamonds, the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band and the Roys are just some of the great acts you will see.

The action gets under way in the early afternoon on Thursday and Friday and at 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday.

Past performers on the CIEU-FM Stage include the Grascals, the Canadian Grass Unit, Alecia Nugent, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper and many more.

The Coors Light Stage

The Coors Light Stage is located in the "Barn" and hosts local Gaspesian country/bluegrass/folk bands in our popular "After Hours" shows.

Getting under way at 10 PM nightly from Thursday through Saturday, you'll enjoy some of the region's top musicians - and dancing is allowed. The Clemville Kids and Pamela Rooney & the Exceptions are confirmed for 2012, and more great acts will be added soon.

The Coors Light Stage is sponsored by Molson Breweries and Coors Light.

Artists having performed on the Coors Light Stage include Quimorucru, Manuel Castilloux & his musicians, Éric, Dion, Geneviève Lalande, Alex & Caro, Normand Parent, the Clemville Kids and Pamela Rooney & the Exceptions.

The Gazebo Stage

New in 2012, the Gazebo, which is located just steps away from the CIEU-FM Bluegrass Stage, is going to be home to lots of great bluegrass music all week.

From Monday to Wednesday, bluegrass bands will entertain the early birds with two shows nightly getting underway at 7 PM.
And on Thursday, Friday and Saturday after the main stage shows are over, great bluegrass music will continue with 2 additional shows in the Gazebo. In addition to the "After Hours" with Gaspesian bands in the barn, you can enjoy great bluegrass in the Gazebo. And when the bands stop playing, you're invited to join in for late night jams.

The Gazebo will also be home to workshops on Friday and Saturday.
