This teaser-trailer doesn't tell us much, just that indy guys with little money, try to go for the arty atmosphere. They don't have the duckets for the special effects, the blasting and the blowing up of stuff. And so they settle for mood, weird music, loud noise, and actors doing business like they are auditioning for a better grade in drama and film school. What I can tell you about this flick is what I read in the PR material. It is supposed to be about, or is about, something alien and nasty "this way comes." The something nasty is demonic and it's coming our way from another dimension through a rift. The something nasty are things that have been watching sweet, innocent little us for decades, and now they want to do what? Something besides watching? So?

The teaser-trailer seems interesting. The heroes have to cope with their fear, the hostile weather, as well as their injuries, and the wolves who are trying to devour them. Pain, cold, hunger and wolves. Oh, my! And yes, fear. An anticipated horror yay!

"Melancholia," looks like it is a sci-fi disaster drama about people being intense, dramatic and experiencing a lot of melancholy. A planet called Melancholia is heading straight towards Earth. Huh, huh? Where is Starfleet Command?! Different movie. Different targeted audience.

Oh yes, this is supposed to be all psychological, and the director has one of those names that signals he's more into art than entertainment. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Alexander Skarsgård, Charlotte Gainsbourg. Kiefer Sutherland is featured prominently in the trailer. Maybe as an enticement to the fans of his old TV show "24"? Maybe a few fans may hope that "Jack" from "24" will pull out a pistol and blast that planet to bits? Maybe not? The man (Kiefer Sutherland) is an actor for goodness sakes! And he is a good one at that, and this seems like a film for the art house crowd -- so no "Jack"? Maybe I'm wrong? I'm just judging from what I see. By the look of the trailer, this may be a sci-fi yawner But, oh, it's a drama, right?. The director of the flick is Lars von Trier. The scheduled release dare is Nov 11, 2011
