Lionel Messi seized the first opportunity to take a selfie with his latest Ballon d'Or trophy upon returning home on Tuesday. The Barcelona superstar beat rival Cristiano Ronaldo and club team-mate Neymar to the award in Zurich on Monday night.

And understandably, he just couldn't resist taking a photo in the perfect shine of the golden ball. "Welcome home!" the caption read—a fitting message to mark Messi's fifth Ballon d'Or success.
