A Call for Volunteers

Yup, I’m doing something I thought I’d never do…I’m calling for volunteers to help with the campaign.

I know my sixth ward supporters are a bit frightened….but I’ll protect ya!

I don’t care what ward you live in, come join me this Saturday and Sunday as we petition Center Square!! We’re going into the belly of the beast just to get another candidate on the ballot to challenge a incumbent with an arsenal who doesn’t like a challenge.

Bring your walking shoes and meet me at Dunkin Donuts at the corner of Madison and Lark at 9AM this weekend. I will have the petitions, pens and clipboards….just bring your determination.

Please email me the times you are able to join me so that I can schedule the team. I know I can count on you!!

Thanks!

Why I'm Running For Office

My biggest fear right now is that I will win my bid to become the Sixth Ward Councilman.

That may sound odd to some who don’t understand my angle, but my regular readers know that I’m not only tenacious…I know where the bodies are buried. I will not rest if elected. I believe I’ve only missed one Common Council meeting since I’ve moved to Albany…that was when the County scheduled a Nursing Home meeting the same night. (Or something just as important.) I remember once I walked through the dark with sleet coating my hair….I walked into the chamber to find only Ms. Morris at the gavel…”now that’s determination!” she noted when I walked into the empty chamber.

While I had no “official” representation at that meeting, along with many of the other citizens in this city…I was the only citizen that knew it. I was determined…I am determined…this is where I make my home and I demand to be represented. I can spout off all I want on this blog…I can get everyone riled up when I tell the truth instead of what the elected officials, maintaining their ability to manipulate the press, want me to tell you…but, I don’t have a vote, I’m not being represented and there are a lot of folks in the sixth ward who are not being represented, and it is not I that decided to run for office, it is them who pushed me.

I am "not" represented by Richard Conti…who calls himself a “progressive.” And, just like the rest of the progs, he puts a label on himself that indicates he’s a forward thinking breath of fresh air. It’s a Red Herring folks, I watch the hand behind his back...I talk to the people he deals with at the City…I talk with people he works with at the Assembly…I speak with the lobbyists who are advised to support his local campaign in order to gain access to his “Health Care” Committee at the Assembly, I don’t just see how he treats me, I see how he treats others…he’s a snake. He’s a snake in prog clothing….like most of the rest of them.

The Real Endorsement Story: Indies, DA and the TU

Ah, you folks who read the TU…thanks for letting me know about Gavin’s latest article…I know you stop in here for the truth. I didn’t want the Indy Party line, I had been very critical of their endorsement of such a bad DA…and I would have been a hypocrite to accept the line. Still…I was advised to seek any party line offered me…so I did. In the interview, some committee members were very enthusiastic readers and were supportive of me…Mr. Caputo seemed not to be a reader which explains his surprise elicited by the TU and Soares.

I was surprised when Caputo called me with his endorsement…I was not surprised to learn that Soares called each member to convince them to withdraw the endorsement. I have to wonder what we are paying this guy for? So, the tale goes, he called each and every member to let them know that I was critical of their endorsement of him…that’s why they should rescind their endorsement of me. Heck, yeah, I was proudly critical of their endorsement of David Soares…I think everyone except the Indy Party knows that.

But the best part of the story is that the TU, while apparently finding in my blog the articles about the Indy Party, were unable to prove Soares and TU claims that I published the name of a supposed rape victim. The rag’s Gavin goes on to add that I have apparently removed the articles in which the victim was named from my blog…therefore, their lies must be true.

To Gavin…think about this, if I were seeking the Indy Party line, wouldn’t I have removed the articles critical of the Indy Party? How did you find them and NOT the articles in which the TU alleges I published Barbie’s real name? In all my time on this blog, I have only removed one article….good or bad, what I write stands. I may evolve later, I may change my mind…I may gather more information. But, the truth is, I am still critical of the Indy Party’s backing of David Soares…and I never wrote the name of that rape victim…which makes both David Soares, our elected DA, and the Times Union, big fat liars.

Still, it’s pretty cool to be the target of the “unbiased” press…if you have any questions as to why, do a search on this blog for “Robert Gavin.”

In case you're wondering, here's Gavin:

I will be breaking the law on Friday.

My sister Gretchen’s daughters are driving into town, one from Anchorage, Alaska and the other from Grand Prairie, Texas. They are scheduled to arrive on Thursday night so I scampered down to City Hall to secure them one of those nifty Visitor’s passes required by even Alaskans to park in my hood.

Guess what, while my Councilman, the implementer of the Residential Parking Permit system, has more passes than he can physically utilize, I couldn’t get a single visitor permit. Nope, the woman at the clerk’s office leaned against the counter and pointed to the various documents which would prove my address was actually my address.

Water bill? My landlord pays my water bill.

Cable Bill? I don’t have cable.

Phone Bill? In an effort to go green, I receive those via email.

Tax Bill? I rent.

Soares and TU in Cahoots Again

I got notification today that the TU’s Robert Gavin has once again joined forces with the DA to spread hatred in my direction. Funny, Gavin can’t find his way to a courtroom but he is quite capable of being the DA’s tool. A quick read of his latest misinformation is that DA Soares is “aghast” that the Indy party gave me an early endorsement because they “endorsed” him last year.

Well, I was aghast that they endorsed Soares last year so we’re even.

In Gavin’s personal attack, he incorrectly AGAIN, claimed that I had named a rape victim in my blog. Of course, he was never in the courtroom so he wouldn’t know her if he sat on her. I did not EVER name the rape victim…to this day. The TU, however, did name her. I have never ever named a confidential witness…ever. The TU, however, has named them. I sit in the courtroom throughout a trial, I form opinions. And, in my opinion, some people are incorrectly convicted. Still…I never named the victim of the “crime.”

Looks like I'm going to be putting my tennies back on...there's a party at Timmy's place for one of my favorite candidates, Kelly Kimbrough for the Fourth Ward of the Albany Common Council.

You don't need to be a voter in the Fourth to be a supporter of Kimbrough, he is the best thing that could ever happen to North Albany...and besides...he's running against the crazed self-designated candidate, Clifton Dixon. (BTW, Dixon was walking alongside Corey Ellis in the Pride Parade! In an Ellis shirt, with the rest of the Ellis campaign people.)

If you believe in ending the craziness of Albany politics...if you want a change for the better...head on down to the Pizzeria for a fun time with the best candidate in North Albany.

From the Facebook page:

Join your friends and neighbors in support of Kelly Kimbrough for 4th Ward Common Council at Pizzeria 54, 48 North Pearl Street on June 11th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

If you are unable to attend, please consider making a contribution to Kelly's campaign. Checks can be made out to Friends of Kelly Kimbrough and mailed to:

Friends of Kelly Kimbrough
P.O.
