Hey Jets Fans,

We have a mighty big game this Sunday at 1pm as our Gang Green tries to get some revenge from a few weeks ago and "Squish the Fish"! This is a big game for us and we need this division win bad.

Though the game will be on regular TV in Tampa, we expect a really nice crowd at Peabody's this weekend. It's always fun against the Fins so be sure to arrive early and be ready to cheer for our Jets.

Back On Track

We had better be, anyway. Nice demolishing of the Raiders, which also ends our west coast jinx. After 3 crappy losses, including last weeks HORRIBLE performance, it was nice to get back to winning. Now we have to keep it goin'.

It really sucks that we lost two of our core players for the year in back to back weeks - Jenkins and Leon. Oh well, our boys are just gonna have to buckle down hard if we wanna keep winning. They can do it though, for sure. Leon's replacement, rookie Shonn Greene was super with 144 yards and 2 touchdowns! Welcome Shonn, good to have ya!

It was also nice to see Sanchez not stink up the joint this time as well. I know, he's a rookie, so I'll cut him some slack. I would like to see him make consistent improvement from here on out.

We had another big, enthusiastic crowd this week at the fan club, which was great to see, considering the Jets losing 3 straight before Sunday. You guys rock!

Congrats to all the winners of this weeks raffle. It's so cool to have that every week.

A huge one coming up this Sunday. I consider it a must win. We need to split the season series with Miami, and go 5-3 at the midway point going into the bye. If we lose, it's going to really hurt our chances of making the playoffs, much less winning the division. Miami is capable of going on a run this season, so we need to keep 'em in our rear view, and we simply can't afford to lose both games to them.

So get ready Jets fans for this coming Sunday's 'Squish The Fish' party at P's! Gametime is back to 1pm (thank goodness).

And as always, REMEMBER TO WEAR JETS CLOTHING TO THE CLUB! Thank you. :)

We're Still Happy...

Because we know that the Jets will win their next 3 games and be 6-2 by the midway point. The next 2 games are against Buffalo and Oakland, which Tampa Catholic High could beat. Then we have Miami again at home, and I know for damn well certain they ain't comin' to our house and doin' us again. We'll be ready for that wildcrap offense next time. Payback will be sweet.

Braylon Edwards ROCKS! What a fantastic pickup for our Jets. We are contenders now, for sure. Sanchez looked pretty decent last night as well, and didn't give up any stupid turnovers for touchdowns this time. But what happened to our stellar defense? They looked like crap, and allowed Miami QB Chad "who the hell?" Henne to look like freakin' John Elway. I mean, they scored 31 offensive points on us, all on drives starting in their own territory. That's completely unacceptable. We should have won that game. We we're plenty good enough on offense, but this time our D let us down BIG TIME. This had better be the last bad performance by our D, Period. Rex, we're puttin' it on you to make sure of this.

Our crowd was smaller last night, which is understandable for a Monday night game. It was still a good crowd though, with our usual great energy. We'll have another big crowd for sure this coming Sunday when we take on the Bills, which is another 4pm game people, don't forget.

Congrats to all the fine winners of this week's raffle. Sure is fun givin' away those prizes every week.

He's Still A Rookie / MUST READ - Other Important Info

In case anyone forgot, Sanchez ain't Peyton Manning yet. His 2 huge blunders against the Saints were the difference in the game, period. We probably win that game otherwise. It would be a tall task to ask any team to go in there and beat the Saints right now, yet despite the Sanchez errors, we were right there with 'em. The defense was really stellar once again. To hold that team to 10 offensive points, in that dome, is awesome. Oh well, Sanchez should grow from this and move on just fine.

Congrats to NYJFCTB legend Bernie for winning the main raffle contest, and congrats to all the other winning participants. Once again it was awesome.

There were a ton of Jets fans there again, of course, and we rocked.

WEAR YOUR JETS CLOTHING TO THE CLUB, ESPECIALLY your Jets jersey or shirt. Jets hats, pants etc. are good and encouraged as well, but definitely the jersey/shirt needs to be on ya. Thanks for your happy cooperation, JETS FANS, who come to our JETS FAN club.

Sunday's Jets / Saints Game

Hey Jets Fans,

Just a reminder that Sunday's game is at 4:05pm against the Saints. This is a BIG game and a huge test for our Defense. Pulling this off will make an incredible statement to the league that the Jets are the real deal. As Earl says... "It's Our Time!!!"

We're counting on Sanchez to give us more of the same and to put points on the board while the D plays like it's a playoff game.

IT'S OUR TIME!!! Man, another spectacular week for NYJFCTB. Another hard fought victory against a desperate Titans team (one of the best 0-3 teams you'll ever see, but anyway). Our defense did finally allow a touchdown this season, then a second, but we did enough in all 3 phases of the game to get 'er done.

Tell ya what though, we're gonna have to play a little better this coming Sunday. If the Pats game was "our Super Bowl", then this will be our second Super Bowl in 3 weeks for sure. In a 2009 regular season schedule full of tough tests, this could be our toughest. The Saints definitely got it goin' on, with 3 impressive blowout wins. They ain't the "Aints" no more. If the Jets don't keep 'em in check from the get go, it could get ugly real quick. In that dome, that place will be a nightmare of ferociously loud Saints fans if we don't get off to a strong start, and stay that way. So get ready Jets fans for our "Super Bowl in the Super Dome"!

Gotta say a big thank you to all the weekly participants of the raffle contest. You guys have made this a big and fun event every week for the fan club, so thanks again and keep it goin' strong! Conrgrats to all the winners yesterday.

REMINDER: The game against the Saints is at 4pm, so don't be showing up at 1pm, unless you wanna watch the early games at P's, which is fine of course.

Hey Jets Fans,

What a great week this has been basking in the beatdown of the hated Patriots and hearing all the sports talk shows talking nice about our Jets! Go D!!!

Peabody's was nuts with about 130 of us gathered for the home opener even with the game on TV here in Tampa. That's gotta tell you something about watching the games at Peabody's. It's more than just a bunch of people watching a football game... it's an experience that's only matched by actually being at the game.

Got a few things to discuss with you all so please read on.

Just Keeps Getting Bigger

Another record crowd for the fan club Sunday. Once again the joint was rockin' as we cheered our boys to victory, loudly and proudly. We all went home happy as our Jets did not allow an offensive touchdown against a good offense for the second straight week (Yes, even Houston is supposed to have a pretty good offense this year). Folks, this defense is FOR REAL.

Another big test this coming Sunday as we clash with the Titans. But hey, we're the big, bold, brash and trash talkin' Jets now, so bring em' on! That's right, we're COCKY and we can back it up. Gotta love this new attitude Coach Rex brings!

It was funny watching Pats fans walk into our club, but then quickly realize that they were in the WRONG HOUSE yo, and got the hell out! They saw and felt the power of the mean green, and knew what was good for 'em.

Congrats also go out to our raffle winners as we gave away lots of great Jets goodies. Thanks to everyone for participating. This really helps the club out and is much appreciated.

Remember to make sure that you and yours wear JETS CLOTHING to the club. Still seeing a few folks in plain clothing, or worse, other teams gear. That ain't gonna fly peeps. We love ya, but we ain't interested in your creamsicle orange throwback Bucs crap, or whatever.

FANTASTIC Week #1 For The Club!

Jets fans in large quantity came out to Peabody's Sunday to cheer on our men in green as they destroyed Houston on their home turf. The joint was rockin' with J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets! chants that rattled the building! We even had curious onlookers coming over from the other side of P's just to witness the powerhouse entity known as the
New York Jets Fan Club Of Tampa Bay!!!

Man, for a rookie, that Sanchez looks really freakin' impressive. And our defense, WITHOUT BOTH starting defensive ends, shutout Houston's offense. The Texans are supposed to be a pretty decent team this year, so this was a strong statement victory for our Jets. The Rex Ryan era has begun in kick ass fashion!

We face a bigger test this coming Sunday. Let's hope the confidence and momentum will bloom from this victory so we can take care of those Patriots!

As big as the crowd was today at the fan club, we're expecting an even larger turnout for the Pats game. So we'll see ya at P's this coming Sunday, and be sure to wear your Jets gear (please).

Thanks to everyone for coming out Sunday. What a great time we had. The raffle contest was a big hit once again as well. Congrats to the winners.

Hey Jets Fans,

Just wanted to try and get some kind of head count for Sunday. It's going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait for the season to start.

If you don't plan on attending many games this season, this is the one to travel for. Opening day is always a major blast and P's is giving us two servers, two bartenders, all the beer you can drink for $12, and wing and food specials, so they are all ready for us.

I've also been promised a special Jets drink made in our honor called "Jet Fuel".

Here's another great reason to come out... Peabody's will be raffling off two tickets to the Jets / Bucs game in the Miller Light Party Deck at the stadium (I've included some pics below). The lucky winner will get the two tix to the game, three free beers, a shirt (I think), a great view and just generally get spoiled rotten!

Each week you join us at P's you will get a free chance to be in the running to win the tickets. We will be selecting a winner on Sunday, October 4th. The more times you come to Peabody's for Jets football before the drawing, the more chances you will have to win.

One major thing to note... the winner MUST BE PRESENT at Peabody's on the 4th to win the tix.

Great news Jets Fans,

If you're as pumped-up as I am for football season to start, then please join the rest of the fan club at Peabody's this Friday at 7:00pm to watch the Jets take on St. Louis in pre-season action. Consider it pre-season for us Tampa area fans who are missing football season something awful.

Besides, it will be a great way to see old friends after a long off season and a chance for us to see our new rookie QB take the field with the team.

We should also have the same or very similar food and drink specials.

Great News Jets Fans...

I've got details on ticket availability for the Jets / Bucs game on December 13th.

My contact at the Bucs is holding a big block of tickets for us in section 333 and/or 338. Tickets will cost $75/seat. They are in the upper deck around the 20 yard line.

Problem is tickets are on sale already and we need to have them paid for by Friday, May 8th. So, there is no time to waste!!!

If you or your friends/family want to join us, you'll need to get me the money for the tickets IMMEDIATELY / ASAP / PRONTO.

Please send me the name and email address of all the people who want tickets and include a check for $75/head. Get your checkbook out now folks!!!

I can also take payments by PayPal but will have to charge you an extra fee to cover what they charge me (2.9% of total + 30 cents).

Draft Day, Jets vs Bucs, & Miami Road Trip

Hey Jets fans,

Opening day of the NFL Draft is Saturday April 25 starting at 4pm. I thought it might be a fun off-season get-together for club members. The Jets currently have the number 17 slot in the first round. I spoke to Mo over at Peabody's and he's OK'd a drink and food (wings) special for us.

Please let me know if you plan on attending. I want to know if we'll have a decent crowd.

Also, I wanted to let you all know that the 2009 schedule is out and has been updated on the fan club website as well as on the blog. The Jets will play the Bucs here in Tampa on December 13th at 1pm... that couldn't be more PERFECT!!!

If anyone has any connections or ideas for a super-sized tailgate party at the stadium for this Jets/Bucs game please let me know ASAP so we can get the ball rolling. I'm planning on doing something really big for this. We need to figure out where specifically to do this thing, how to get a big enough area, maybe a sponsor or two, some advertising, etc.

A number of other fan clubs from up and down the east coast are planning on joining us too. This should be a major event for the fan club and I'll need help. More to come on that real soon including information on tickets.

Unfortunately since this year's Jets/Miami game in Miami is a Monday night game and because the Jets will be in Tampa this year, I'm planning on spending my time on doing something big for the Bucs game and not doing the road trip to Miami. Sorry. However, if someone else would like to undertake the planning of a Miami road-trip, feel free to step up and let me know.

I'm really looking forward to another exciting season of Jets Football and of hanging out with everyone again.

Remember to let me know if you'll be attending the Draft Day party at P's on Saturday.

The long awaited Jets - Bucs game here in Tampa has finally arrived. Not only has it arrived but it couldn't be at a better time of the year. A Sunday in mid-December at 1pm. It is gonna be a blast.
