Seedy bar in Lindale site of office-involved shooting

Several witnesses reported a shooting involving officers of the Lindale Police Department. One man was shot and taken to a local hospital. No officers were injured. Our thanks to Lindale PD for keeping our community safe.

Lindale’s Miranda Lambert to Receive Inaugural ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award

According to Country Music Tattle Tale, Lindale’s Miranda Lambert will be the first to ever receive the ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award. The award is designated to honor uncompromising artists in the spirit of the country music legend who performed such hits as “Okie from Muskogee.”

The 10th annual ACM Honors will be broadcast on Friday, September 9th.

It’s been almost a year since Precinct 5 in far north Smith County voted “wet.” While some say the area is benefitting from additonal tax revenue generated by alcohol sales on the area, CBS 19 reports that Texas still leads the United States in alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities. Among cities of similar size, Tyler and Longview are among the highest DUI areas. Still think it’s worth it, Lindale?

The Texas Bandmasters Association Board of Directors has elected Lindale ISD’s Steven Moore as the new 2015-2016 President of the Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA).

Moore has been Lindale’s Director of Bands for over 25 years, continuing a tradition of excellence established by Butch Almany. “The Pride of Lindale” earned its 40^th consecutive 1^st division rating in the UIL Marching Contest during the 2014-2015 school year.
