When I initially created this blog, I never thought I would be pushing one of the big launch type products the guru’s seem to put out several times each year. Only recently however I found a product from one of the guru’s that appears to really offer major value to the newbie well after the sale has been made.

The big product to hit the internet marketing world this year is from Armand Morin and is called “Internet Marketing Explained“. The product is a comprehensive home study course that, as it’s name implies, addresses all things internet marketing and educates the buyer with all the details necessary to enjoy internet marketing success.

I’m sure you’re thinking that each month the be all end all product is launched by the guru’s and they all claim to be the golden ticket to internet marketing success. I would tend to agree, but in reviewing Armand’s offer with this product, I have to say that he’s going a step further in what he’s providing the consumer here.

First, Internet Marketing Explained is a huge course that will require more than just skimming the information and implementing things willy-nilly. It is meant for you to consume all of it’s details and apply them as explained at the pace you prefer. Given the physical size of the course, I have a feeling the consumer will spend as much time reading/listening as they will doing. I don’t consider this a bad thing, since usually this means the product will provide the “why” (which is important) in addition to the “how”.

Getting back to my original point, I feel Armand’s product is worth the purchase because of the bonuses offered to the consumer AFTER he gets your money.

Included with your purchase of IME, you get a free ticket to a 3 day seminar in March that is strictly dedicated to the product itself! How many marketers offer this kind of after purchase support? I’ve never heard of any! Armand himself will be the only speaker, and will teach/demonstrate the strategies defined in the IME product. Obviously, attending the seminar allows the consumer to ask direct questions to Armand himself, and network with other marketers that have also purchased IME. If you’ve read my previous posts, you know that I find the general seminar experience very fulfilling, and an excellent opportunity to get educated and meet others in your shoes.

Armand has also included downloads of 4 of his popular generator software applications. For those that don’t know, Armand has created several applications to help internet marketers automate some parts of product development, each of which are typically known as a generator. In this case he’s included the following with a purchase of IME - Ebook Generator, Ecover Generator, Header Generator, and PDF Generator. For anyone creating & releasing an information product, these tools would be mighty helpful for the do-it-yourselfer. Since Armand typically sells his Generator products for roughly $100 each, this is a solid bargain

Lastly, Armand will be providing additional video update content over the course of 8 weeks to individuals that purchased IME.

I personally had not experienced any of Armand’s educational techniques before so I attended 3 of his free tele-seminars he provided that were sales pitches in the end, but the first hour and 45 minutes of each call were actually filled with a substantial amount of content. It was in these calls that I found out Armand has a bit of a unique twist on marketing from a mindset, strategy, and implementation perspective. For instance, while Armand is an annual multi-millionaire, one of his approaches to making consistent sustaining income was to make $100-300 dollars per month from a given site, and duplicate that model to additional sites generating similar income.

He discloses that he has some obnoxious number of sites/niches he’s involved in, but the message is simple. Start small, and once you make it work, duplicate it again & again. He also covered his take on some of the common fundamentals, and pointed out some of the rules to break. One of the most interesting for example is that on your sales letter, most marketers put in a buy link or button on the page 3-4 times. In his opinion with proof, Armand explains that 9-12 times should be the optimum goal.

I could go on, but I’ll stop rambling. Since I recently purchased a coaching program similarly priced to Internet Marketing Explained, I’m tapped at the moment, but will probably pick this up next month. The moral to the story here is simple, with this product release, Armand Morin has really provided the consumer with some really solid training and support at the time of purchase and well after the purchase. This is big, and very unique in the Internet Marketing space. So often these big product launches for home study courses are full of communication from the creator prior to you paying up, then all you get is a thank you or email support only on the back end. I feel a new precedent has been set, and hope the other guru’s take notice & follow in Armand’s footsteps.

A couple of posts back, I had touched on creating products for a niche, and quickly highlighted that I needed outside help to create the product. In the process of writing an ebook, I realized that the material I was covering needed photos in order for the reader to really understand the content. I had a few options to accomplish this, but they were all going to depend on cost, time necessary, and availability of my time and others.

Long story short, I found out that a very close friend of mine did 3D animation on the side (pretty good at it as well) and could provide me the images I needed for a reasonable cost! I couldn’t believe it, and I initially thought ok….this product is going to be great and released real soon, and I’ll be making money!!!! Well that all may be true, but the timing in which I expected all this to occur was completely thrown off by the learning experience known as Outsourcing.

As the blog sub-title says, “I’m taking a non-expert’s approach” to most of this Internet Marketing stuff, and while the process has been very educational, it has also left me with a few internal bruises & scars. Ok, here’s what you need to know (based off of very recent experience) when you are going to outsource part or parts of your business/product creation.

1. Make a DETAILED plan and description of EXACTLY what you need done. This means if you want 10 photos taken that demonstrate the proper way to season & marinate a slab of ribs, you need to identify:

Photo #1 - Take an overhead shot of a thawed out slab of ribs from a distance of 1-2 feet. Make sure plenty of light is on the ribs. Be sure the meaty side is face up so the camera gets this view.

Photo #2 - Arrange the seasoning containers like so from left to right on a table with a blank wall in the background: Garlic Powder, Black Pepper, Tenderizer, Salt. From a squatting or kneeling position take a photo from 1-2 feet away of the ingredients with each of the labels facing the camera.

Photo #3 - Using a left to right motion with the wrist only, shake a dusty coating of the garlic powder over the top of the ribs, starting with the left side first. Only apply one coating. Take an overhead picture looking straight down at the ribs from 1-2 feet away.

Get the idea? you need to be as clear as possible for the person doing the work for you. Assume the person doing the work knows nothing about making ribs or whatever your project is, and you will have a much better chance at getting this right the first time.

2. Try your best to hire someone that is moderately familiar with the subject matter of your product. Since I was on a tight budget, I had to take a bit of a hit here, but in the process I again quickly & painfully learned that this can be key especially if you’re looking for the work to be done right the first time for a schedule you’re trying to keep. Since I didn’t do this, I had to explain several basics that I overlook since I’m knowledgeable about the subject, which played a major part in the project completion date being delayed.

3. Don’t be afraid to use audio and or video. Each of these can help a ton in the beginning if the person doing the work for you knows nothing of the subject matter!! Unfortunately, I didn’t learn this until too late. Using audio or video to aid the “outsourcees” can be a tremendous timesaver, and can provide the outsourcee with invaluable subtleties you may be trying to get across, but not specifically stating. In other words some things are easier to describe visually. In another example, I needed demonstrate how baseball and football players posture on the field of play is different by position and game situation. Using video, I could show from different angles in how I needed the 3D image created, and other subtleties such as head/hand position.

4. Review the finished work you get back in detail, and be sure to put yourself in the shoes of your target customer when reviewing it. Make sure that 99% of exactly what you wanted is in the finished work, and if it is not accurate, it is vital to get it right the next time. I didn’t get exactly what I wanted because I was not detailed enough on the front end with steps 1 and 2 that I just covered. Needless to say I realized mid-way through the process that I needed to do what I stated in steps 1 and 2, but by then I lost a good chunk of time and missed a really good product launch timeframe. Anyhow, when you provide feedback make sure to provide any missing details the second time around that may not have been communicated the first time.

I don’t want to project that outsourcing is a bad thing. In fact, now that I’ve gotten some of the major mistakes out of the way, I’m looking forward to outsourcing more in the future. I noticed that the successful, rich Internet Marketing gurus all have two major components in place that piggyback each other. One, they are very consistent in all their marketing efforts - namely the fundamentals (lead generation, email listbuilding, traffic generation, etc.). They each have a number of things they do each day, week, month that keeps the leads, sales, and marketing flowing. Secondly, they do not do the actual “grunt work” on their own. The gurus have either hired someone in house, outsourced to a service like workaholics4hire, or find someone on a service like elance.

I’m sure that this list of Outsourcing keys is not yet complete, however I am positive that this list will prevent the mistakes and resulting fallout and will definitely make me far more efficient in the long run. I’m also positive that this list will be useful regardless of what work I’m outsourcing. Feel free to take advantage of these tips, and if anyone has some additional suggestions I’m more than open to them.

At the very beginning of the month, I had the extreme privilege to attend yet another internet marketing seminar prior to the end of 2007. The internet marketing super power Matt Bacak put on an excellent group of speakers for Internet Marketing Madness Live 2007.

You may recall that my first exposure to Matt Bacak was at the Midwest Super Conference back in September, and that he was among my favorite speakers then. I now know that in addition to being a great businessman, and speaker in his own right, Matt also has some wicked contacts in the internet marketing realm.

Matt was nice enough to send me a free ticket to his seminar, so I had no choice but to go. Upon arrival at the seminar, I quickly noticed that the majority of the attending audience were not marketing newbies. Instead, they turned out to be individuals that were already in businesses of their own, and in most cases, already achieving some level of success. My definition of success is that you are in your own business full-time, consistently profitable each month, and not working a job.

Matt really assembled a diverse and targeted lineup of speakers for this event, most again I have not heard of due to this being my first year in internet marketing. The primary thing I noticed about almost all of the speakers is that they really were qualified to be speaking on the various topics. With few exceptions, the speakers had several years of experience in their specialties and this really came clear often during their presentations. It was not uncommon for the presenters to have 4 or more years of experience, which is often a lifetime given how dynamic internet marketing is.

As far of content, I must say that I was impressed with the format each speaker used during their presentation. Each speaker would typically begin with a brief biography on themselves and their experience/current business success status. The transition into the content of their presentation was often smooth and often made for a smooth listening experience.

The content itself was not rushed and was typically very specific to allow the audience to not only take notes, but also provide information you could take action on the minute you got back to your computer! It is very common to find speakers at marketing seminars that don’t provide action-oriented or educational information the audience could use whether they bought the products or not!

For example, Ryan Deiss (Membership Site Guru) didn’t just talk about why membership sites are great and how much you could make, he addressed in detail:

What membership site backend applications he recommends by price, capacity and feature level

The process he uses to create, launch, and manage membership sites including where to gather content, who to hire for content if you don’t know about the topic, who to hire to manage the site, how to get members, etc.

How your membership site should direct members to content

Membership site marketing tips/tools.

How to get permission from authors to use their content

Now, I’m really skimming over a ton of what was offered, but the key here is that the information offered during the speaker presentations often included specific websites to go to, books to read, people to call, procedures to use, etc. This made the entire trip worth it for me as I came home with about 16 pages of useful notes from the various speakers.

The best part of each presentation is that you knew a sales pitch was coming at some point, however the pitches only came at the very end of their presentations. Now this does not mean that the speakers did not plug their services a bit throughout their presentation, but there was no “if you buy this”, or “For only $XXX….” attached to it.

Without question, my absolute favorite part of the seminar was on Day 2 Jeff Herring (Internet Article Guru) offering 1 audience member free tuition to his next Article Coaching Program . He passed around a large bowl to collect audience member business cards, and randomly pulled one out. Guess who got picked? Yours truly! Without question, I am more than excited to have been so lucky and it just so happens that I was looking for more information on article marketing for my internet marketing products. I start this training in March and will provide some reports after I’ve had a few sessions under my belt.

In closing, I would like to point out the presenters that I got the most out of and I strongly suggest you get on their respective email/newsletter lists. Their experience and teaching styles were not only legit but more importantly effective.

Eric Graham - The “Conversion Doctor”. This guy is pricey but really knows the details when it comes to closing your prospects. He’s tested sales copy, colors, website buttons, audio, video etc, and knows what will get the credit card out of your prospects. I would suggest looking into Eric prior to product launches for his review comments.

Ryan Deiss - When it comes to membership websites, Ryan is the first resource to look to. Not only is his experience and teaching style strong, but he also teaches how to automate the process from the beginning. I personally witnessed Ryan launching two products in 2007 that sold out in under 2 hours each time. The kicker was that they were both $1997!

Jeff Herring - Internet Article Guy. A real easy to absorb, laid back teaching style. Not to mention, the guy really has dissected everything about internet articles, how to write them, market them, and make money from them (can you believe he has 7 ways to do so?)

Matt Bacak - This guy absolutely kills it when he presents. I’m almost at a point with Matt that when he offers something, I want to take out my credit card.

Throughout my internet marketing education this year, I have read and received advice and suggestions on the “best” way to succeed and generate income streams. While my first choice was affiliate marketing due to it’s perceived ease of setup and maintenance, I soon discovered that creating my own products for specific, well-targeted markets was not only as profitable, but also offers substantially more control and options.

With that said, around September I began to obtain information that explains the hows, dos, and dont’s regarding what’s called Niche Marketing and Niche Product Creation. This is also around the time in which I posted the article regarding Performing Keyword Research. Since that process was new, I found it to be exciting, time consuming, and eventually unhelpful.

I read up some more, listened to a fa listew podcasts, and decided to give the keyword research another try. Based off of the material I studied from, I compiled a list of the key steps each resource provided, then adjusted a few minor things as I saw fit. This was primarily an experimental measure to see if I was maybe missing some minor details I had either ignored or overlooked.

Long story short…..I nailed down both the keywords and the niche I wanted to target!! Here were the keys I learned from this process.

Make a list on paper, word doc or excel spreadsheet of any and all passionate interests, hobbies, or topics you are involved with, know about, or even want to know about. I suggest doing this task more than once and really taking it seriously!! I didn’t focus properly the first couple of times. When making this list, put down EVERYTHING you think of. Also, when you put down a broad topic like cars, try to drill down to the most specific areas of cars you like such as classic corvettes, 50’s era Chevy’s, fine tuning Mitsubishi Eclipses, etc. Repeating this for each topic you put down will help you define this list and maybe even discover a niche for you early in the process! If if helps out, I’ve provided a sample spreadsheet based exactly on the one I personally used.

Next you need to define the following at a minimum for each prospective niche idea you put down: Passion level about the topic, how much you either know, or are willing to learn about the topic.

In addition you will want to define the possible products you could create around the topic (ebook, newsletter, software, membership site, audio, video, training, etc.)

At this point, I suggest you go back over your completed list including the information you inserted for bullet #2 and select 6-10 of the best items you prefer based off of all the criteria defined in the list.

With the information provided in your list, I would then take the 6-10 items selected in the last bullet, and use them as keywords when following the instruction provided in Brian Edmundson’s Keyword Research article HERE.

As mentioned earlier, when defining a niche market to create your own products in, you may have to repeat this process a few times. I personally had to repeat the process several times over a week period. The key is to take the entire process very seriously, and stick with it in the event it doesn’t seem to work the first time or two.

If you feel that your list does not seem to be very interesting, feel free to ask others (friends, family co-workers, etc.) what they’re interested in for additional inspiration. I personally found some other niches that I want to look into when I’m ready for a new niche challenge.

Once I found the niche, the next issue was to define what product I could create the quickest for the niche. Due to cost concerns and a need for speed, I decided ebook creation was the route to go. First lesson learned about ebook creation? Do not sit down and just start writing!! I know a lot about sports, but writing about it proved to be a big challenge when I realized I want people to buy this. So I utilized another tool suggested during my studies…the use of a mind map. Using the Mind Map application Freemind, I defined each chapter of the book, including title, topics, and book structure. For each of the topics, I made minor notes to address what I wanted to cover in each chapter.

During creation of the ebook, it became apparent that I would need some sample photos, and illustrations to bring the content to life and provide the reader with additional clarity on my information. This resulted in my seeking some outside help, which delayed the release of the product, but will definitely enhance both sales, and product value.

Niche Marketing definitely has additional learning steps I’m adjusting to, but they easily require their own post for proper coverage. I’ll let you know about them really soon!

Here are some samples for you to use if you like. To view the mind map you will need to download the free application Freemind:

As previously mentioned, I’ve discovered that becoming and staying successful in internet marketing requires continuous education. One of the best ways to get this education is to attend Internet Marketing seminars. The Midwest Super Conference, hosted by Jeff Mills was my first foray into a more formal internet marketing education, and I came away very pleased with the experience. First of all, the event was very professionally done in my opinion by Jeff and his staff. Upon arrival and registration, I was provided with a kit that included information regarding the event such as full business biographies of each speaker, note taking materials, among others. In addition, Jeff was broadcasting the seminar live over the Internet! I thought this was a cool feature for those that couldn’t make it, and it allows one that does not have the money to purchase the ticket ($997) and travel/lodging arrangements to “attend” a seminar and absorb the information.

I must compliment Jeff Mills in his selection of the speakers. They each covered specific areas of internet marketing, which provides the attendee a broad range of exposure to the power of competent marketing. The format of each speaker was largely the same, and adapted to their content. The format largely involved each speaker providing a quick background on themselves that often included what their company does, how much money they’ve made in the last 12 months or more, what they teach, how they teach it, and why they’re qualified to educate you. For the most part each speaker had 90 minutes or so to cover that, and provide some content relevant to most attendees to take action on immediately.

In the last 5-10 minutes of each presentation, the speaker would provide the audience with a chance to purchase a package of their products that usually included a period of personal coaching from the speaker (ranging from a phone consultation to weekly teleconferences). This proved to be a big selling point with the audience, and I would have to say that it would make the purchases worth it based on their cost and the desire for most the audience to become successful quickly.

Among the speakers there, my personal favorites were Pat Lovell, Matt Bacak, Larry Benet, and JJ Childers. Pat Lovell and Matt Bacak’s presentation were so appealing to me personally, that I wish I could afford to buy both of their products presented at the event.

Speaking of money, that’s the one harsh reality learned about these seminars. Each product offered by the speakers except for 2 were offered at $1997. Now I’m all for these guys getting all the money they can, however I found these prices to be largely out my range at the time of the seminar. Notice I did not say that the products were/were not worth the prices. I felt given that each speaker personally led the buyer on tele-seminars, and coaching classes, the chance for success would actually rather high.

One of the keys I was told by other successful marketers was that it is important to network with the other attendees & speakers, to share information, ideas, and possibly luck upon Joint Venture prospects. Jeff Mills was really creative in this regard because he provided closed lunch and dinner sessions for the attendees which encouraged attendee & speaker interaction. Without question, this was the most successful part of the trip for me.

During the lunches and dinners, I got to have a couple of extended conversations with Pat Lovell who is a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) guru. In addition to discussing SEO, I got to know him a bit as a guy; which only enhanced my respect and comfort level with his knowledge and personality. He had a lot to offer and didn’t seem to hold back once questions were asked. More importantly, he demonstrated a high patience level when the questions came his way.

I also had the esteemed privilege of meeting Jason Pearson (creator of Perfect Wealth Formula) during one of the dinners. I could write a page on this experience, but to keep it simple Jason is a quiet, extremely confident guy that knows his stuff and willingly spills his guts when asked. What started as a conversation based on small talk, turned into an impromptu Q&A session that covered all topics ranging from affiliate marketing how-to, product creation, article writing, blog marketing, network marketing, merchant accounts, his new products, clickbank, employee management, and others. Needless to say I took a ton of notes. My conversation with Jason ended up running until the entire dining area was empty and 3+ hours passed!

Let’s just say that I am an evangelist of Jason now and would recommend to anyone that they pick up any of his products, the guy is a saint and lives to put money in people’s pockets. In fact, the minute I had the money, I recently had the privilege (and the money) to purchase his latest product ($997) which includes a series of tele-seminars conducted by him, explaining the how-to’s behind many of marketers biggest challenges. I can’t wait to begin that process which is next week. I will report on my results from this product experience later.

I’ve received some emails from readers of the blog about my disappearing act, and to all of you I apologize for not keeping the site updated. One of the other things I’ve learned are some time management tips, and in the process I’ve made updating my blogs regularly part of the process. I don’t foresee another unexpected hiatus so you can count on seeing the site updated each week at a minimum.

That’s right! I’m heading to the Midwest Super Conference. This will be my first internet marketing focused conference, and I’m very much looking forward to being around all the talent and information that will be literally walking around me.

The guys over at Internet Business Mastery frequently mention the importance of staying educated in the world of internet marketing, and even describe it as an investment in yourself. They have some great podcasts, by the way, so I suggest you check them out.

Throughout August, I’ve ran across several free webinars from Jeff Mills that were all informative and allowed me to get some high-level previews of content and speaker caliber at the upcoming Midwest Super Conference. Jeff is the creator and operator of the conference and I must say that I’m impressed with him, his staff (specifically Henry Griner), and the varied roster of speakers he’s got coming to the conference. The webinars have taught me several how-to’s but have also shown me that there is definitely much to learn, and paid seminars like the Midwest Super Conference are priceless goldmines of information, contacts, and possible Joint Venture partners.

While the webinars have been enticing, I really became sold when I found out who was on the list of presenters, and the varied areas of their expertise. I’m specifically interested in Matthew Glanfield who is a new but VERY successful Affiliate Marketer, Sherry Watson who is an expert on training others how to consistently get grant money (who doesn’t need that), and Pat Lovell who is a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) magician! He presented on one of Jeff Mill’s webinars, and actually improved the Google search engine index ranking instantly (Live on the webinar) for one the webinar attendees! In addition to SEO, Pat Lovell is also an authority on using Google Adsense.

I suggest anyone in internet marketing, whether new or seasoned veteran take in some conferences like Jeff’s to keep up with the industry’s changes, learn new techniques, and network with so many other possible partners. If nothing else, conferences like this offer those that attend the chance to get direct access to various successful people and absorb priceless nuggets of their information.

It’s been almost exactly a month since my last post, and a lot has been learned. I originally intended on more doing (site creation, etc.) than research, but I ran into a few very helpful sites and even subscribed to one. A lot of new information was uncovered for me about not only affiliate marketing, but also internet marketing in general. Here’s a brief synopsis of what I covered, researched, and actually did during the week of July 30:

Using a to do list is crucial. However, in order to properly use the list, you must fill it out at the end of each night, so that it is waiting on you when you begin working the next day. This is important and if done consistently, will allow you to hit the ground running each day, and minimize the time wasted on email checking, Instant Messenger, Forum Reading, etc. The to do list should also only include the items you feel are critical to complete on a given day. You can add more than the critical items, but the top 2-3 items must be listed first and in the order of priority. You’ll feel like you accomplished something, which is critical to building and maintaining momentum. My to do list technique is right out of the 4 Hour Work Week, it really works

When it comes to affiliate marketing, there are lots of resources out there, but I feel as if I may have found some of the foremost authorities on the web. The Blog Consultant has a great blog on many tips, but has a series of his own posts tracking his foray as a newbie into affiliate marketing. He is using Amazon and each day posts his progress, and what tips/tricks he tried. While that was interesting, nothing beat his post on his deep personal research on the affiliate marketing world, and the numerous resources on the web about it. You can see his entry here, and I strongly encourage any affiliate marketer to read his post and the resources he cites. One of the books he cites is The DayJobKiller. I’ll post about this book and site a bit later, but I ended up buying this book and joining his email list.

Another resource I found very useful so far is the Affiliate Classroom. It was created by the DayJobKiller author, and I found it so useful, I bought a monthly subscription to it for further training. For $30/month you get hands on tutorials and resources to learn how affiliate marketing works through the eyes of a real expert. Best of all, the Affiliate Classroom content is very easy to learn and follow, not to mention the course material seemingly doesn’t seem hard or long to get through. You can check it out for yourself here.

The Thirty Day Challenge! This is a genius idea by two great men! The Thirty Day Challenge is a free site with all the training materials in podcast & video form. The training is for anyone with any background to learn from two gurus how to properly find a niche, research it, test the niche, find traffic sources, track stats etc. The end goal using their tactics is to make $10 inside a 30 day window. I signed up and have been following the materials each week, and I must say, I learned about some new tools and sites completely unknown to me before. I STRONGLY suggest anyone that did not know about the challenge, go to their site and sign up, and get all of the videos, podcasts, and slides via itunes, YouTube, or from the site directly. You will not be able to find information this good for free anywhere else, especially with the job they did on google market research.

Piggybacking off of all the above….Go to Michelle MacPhearson’s Social Media Daily site and grab her free PDF on proven social media marketing techniques. It’s a short list of sites and tools she and her staff personally use to successfully market online. Social media sites are definitely must haves as part of your online marketing strategy, and Michelle has this area down cold. I frequent her blog weekly often, so be sure to check it out as well.

Hello All! As the title suggests, I’m currently on vacation time from my job as of this post. I’ve taken off this time not for fun, but rather to provide a brief full-time kick-start to my online income stream generation aspirations. In preparation for this week, I sat back my last week of work and thought of the key objectives that would benefit most from a large chunk of time devotion. Once I defined the items that should be on this list, I created a formal to-do list complete with a brief note of the objective, brief notes of keys I wanted to address when working on the objective, and some prospective how-to techniques I would use to tackle the task. At the end of each objective/task, I defined a “hard” time window that defined how long I would spend on the specific task.

Here is an example:

Affiliate Marketing:

Herb, this is your primary goal of the week!! Need to research a few key IM focused websites about affiliate marketing to learn some tricks to market, draw traffic/enhance SEO, and convert visitors into sales. 2-3 hours

Get domains if necessary, up to and including tinyurl.com masking. Find ways to draw traffic, convert and DO THEM!!! ½ hour.

This list is much longer, but I think this gives you a good idea. One of the major lessons from the book 4 hour work week requires that deadlines be set to force not only task completion, but also force action based on prior research and minimize paralysis by analysis (which I’ve been guilty of in the past).

Once I had the list created, there was only one more step to take…….GO DOWN THE LIST AND COMPLETE THE TASKS!!!

As previously stated, my income generation focus is on internet marketing, beginning with affiliate marketing. As you can see in the “to do list” example provided, I’ve got some work to do in order to get things going. Although the objective may seem short, I have already made a manual list of sites, and other resources I’ll need to cover in that time frame to get myself up to speed on some of the best techniques out on the web currently. Based on what I find on those resources, I’ll define the best options I can put to use immediately, and as stated in the sample objective….TAKE ACTION!

Prior to this week, I’ve already established affiliate marketing accounts with several companies and individuals, such as the examples provided in the last post. For those of you trying this at home, and also learning this process, I suggest learning to market 2 or more affiliates to test different techniques at the same time. This should let you know relatively quickly what tools, tips, information, techniques etc. are working and which you need to dump.

Since Affiliates already provide the reputable product/service/information, I’m sure the 2 hardest parts of the process will be defining how to best draw consistent traffic to your affiliate sites both from search engines and regular marketing, along with how to convert visitors into buyers once you get them to your affiliate site. I’ll be keeping notes on what I’ve tried and their success levels both manually and with website tools where possbile. Two of the best tools to track website traffic sources are Google Analytics and statcounter.

As I stated in my first ever post, one of the reasons I created this blog was as a motivator for me to ensure I’m accountable, and follow through on the plans I lay out. Plus, you the reader provide feedback, questions as additional motivation and
probably provide some much needed insight or a different spin/approach.

Success or not, the next post or three will include updates or reports on what I’ve found, what worked/didn’t work, the website resources I found to be the most useful, things I learned along the way, “gotchas” to look out for, and most importantly, whether or not my efforts bore any financial fruit. For those following along, feel free to share any thoughts, questions or insight as you see fit. You’re feedback is always greatly appreciated! Until next time, please wish me luck and be sure to check back for future updates! Thanks!
