      <title>CUPE 1760, United Way BC improve mental health coverage and convert multiple precarious jobs to regular status</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;BURNABY—United Way British Columbia (UWBC) and CUPE Local 1760 have agreed to increase extended health coverage to a combined maximum of $1,200 per year per person for accessing psychologists (including clinical psychologists), registered clinical counsellors, social workers, and online cognitive behavioural therapists.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Bulletin - Paid sick leave for all K-12 members</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;All workers in the province are now provided with five days of paid sick leave off work – including unionized workers under a collective agreement – under new changes to &lt;em&gt;the Employment Standards Act&lt;/em&gt;, as of March 31,2022&lt;em&gt;. &lt;/em&gt;This means that all K-12 members – including casual, temporary, and probationary workers – should be entitled to paid sick leave, regardless of the language in your collective agreement.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Bulletin - Updated Communicable Disease Guidelines</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;The Ministry of Education has issued a new update to the &lt;span&gt;&lt;a href="https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/education/administration/kindergarten-to-grade-12/safe-caring-orderly/k-12-covid-19-health-safety-guidlines.pdf"&gt;Provincial COVID-19 Communicable Disease Guidelines for K-12 Settings&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;. The updates reflect current Provincial Health Officer orders and guidance from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control. This update is effective Saturday April 16 to allow time for planning before the Easter long weekend. &lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Union raises alarm on eliminating daytime custodial services in Victoria schools</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;VICTORIA – Eliminating daytime custodial services is an ill-conceived plan that will leave Victoria schools less clean and healthy, lead to increased spread of common illnesses, and more student and staff absences due to illness, says Victoria school support workers. The Canadian Union of Public Employees local 382 is calling on Victoria School District 61 to reverse its decision to cut these critical services.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

With the Municipal Council voting to approve the new agreement on March 1 and CUPE 2010 members concluding a vote in favour on March 2, Pemberton workers will now benefit from an improved three-year contract for a term retroactive to January 1, 2022 and concluding on December 31, 2024. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
