Arya is expected to join the team after completing his current project 'Settai', for which he is currently shooting in Mumbai. The actor will therefore be joining the team in the second schedule.

The morning wedding was conducted in a mix of South Indian and Punjabi styles, in keeping with both the bride and groom's cultural traditions. Vidya is Tamilian and Siddharth is Punjabi.

According to reports, the wedding rituals went on for over an hour at the well-decorated venue in the presence of family members of the bride and groom.

According to reports, the actress underwent three changes in costume during the wedding ceremony, including a mustard sari with a pink blouse, matching the groom's yellow kurta and pink turban. Vidya wore flowers in her hair and a big smile. After the wedding ceremony was over, the bride and the groom came out for a photo op and posed happily for the waiting cameras. By this time, Vidya was in a tomato red banarasi sari with gold jewellery and sindoor on her forehead.

According to sources, Vidya is said to be excited about wearing toe rings on both her feet after the actual ceremony, like newly-wed Tamil brides. She will also sport the thaali, a woven yellow thread with small photographs of Lord Balaji and his consort Ambana. Vidya and Siddharth will likely play a traditional wedding 'game' that involves searching for a ring in a bucket of milk and water.

After their quiet wedding, the couple intends to send sweets to people from the industry.

The couple's wedding celebrations kicked off on December 11 with a private sangeet that was attended by close family members of the bride and the groom. Vidya wore a kanjeevaram sari and heavy gold jewellery.

Vidya's mehendi, held at her Khar residence in Mumbai on Dec 12, was also a private affair like her sangeet. Again, only close family and friends were invited for the ceremony.

The bride-to-be was glowing in a sari designed by her favourite Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She wore it in Bengali style with floral ornaments. Despite the function being private, Vidya obliged the waiting cameras by coming out for a brief photo-op.

The couple have so far remained tight lipped about their wedding and post wedding plans though Vidya will reportedly take a sabbatical.

21 crore record opening for Dabangg 2

"Dabangg 2", the sequel to 2010 Bollywood blockbuster "Dabangg" has managed to surpass the opening day collections of the original movie. It amassed Rs.21.10 crore in India on the day of its release - largely because it released across a greater number of sccreens.

The movie, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, opened across 2,500 screens Friday against 1,800 for the previous one.

The directorial debut of actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, "Dabangg 2" opened to packed houses and managed to rake in Rs. 21.10 crore on the opening day itself.

It is said to one of the highest opening for any non-holiday release in Bollywood till date. "Dabangg 2" surpassed the first day collections of even Akshay Kumar's "Rowdy Rathore", which earned Rs.15 crores. It was a non-holiday release too.

The original "Dabangg" was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, and it had managed to rake in Rs.14.5 crore on its first day, nationally.

It was a "starlit" marrige for Vikram, grandson of Shivaji Ganesan and son of actor Prabu tied the knot with Lakshmi Ujjaini, daughter of Dr.Mathivanan. The wedding was held at Rani Meyammai Hall at Egmore on Monday.

Members from various political parties including Chief Minister Karunanidhi, Palani Manickam, Raja, E.V.K.S.Ilangovan, Vijaykanth, M.K.Stalin, Sathyaraj, Radhika and Sarath Kumar graced the occasion.

Guests from Bollywood like Mr.Big B ,actress Sridevi, her husband Boney Kapoor and playback singer Asha Bhonsle too were present.

Almost all the leading stars from Indian filmdom and political personalities had attended the wedding. The muhurtham was held at 6 am. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanithi was the one of the first ones to arrive earlier along with the Superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, who was accompanied by friend Gowthami and daughter Akshara. Telugu megastars Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Jagapathi Babu and Mohan Babu also attended the wedding. Surya came with wife Jyothika and blessed the couple.

However it was at the reception luncheon that Bollywood made its presence felt. 'Big B' Amitabh Bachan attended the reception at around 3 pm and shared some unforgettable moments that he shared with the late veteran Shivaji. Actress Sridevi and her husband Boney Kapoor also came to the reception and blessed the couples. Director Rajkumar Santoshi came in the late afternoon and stayed right to end of the reception. The others who participated in the reception are – Ajith, Shalini, Vijay, Roja, Thrisha, Vikram, Bakyaraj, Director Bharathi Raaja, Mumtaz, Meena, Sangeeta, Perarasu, Vijay Kanth. Very few stars from Kollywood were not present.

The celebrations on Sunday evening saw a host of celebrities including The Union Ministers EVKS Ilangovan, Palani Manickam, Tamil Nadu Local Body Minister M.K.Stalin, Thol Thirumavalavan, Sarath Kumar Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Radhika, Kushboo, Vadivelu, Tabu, playback singer Asha Bonsle, veteran actress Manorama, Latha, K.R.Vijaya, Lakshmi, Ambika, Sukumari, Producer Kalaipuliu S.Thanu. Singer Hariharan and Drums Sivamani entertained the guests while Prabhu and his wife Punitha, Ramkumar & Kamalammal were perfect hosts.

What was a surprise was the absence of former Chief Minister and close relative of Prabhu family Selvi Jayalalitha to this wedding. Many have expected that she would attend the function on Sunday itself (mappillai azhaippu). But she was not present. Prabhu's family was waiting for Jayalalitha with much anticipation in the afternoon reception. But nobody has came even represent to her. Prabhu and his family were waiting for her to turn up.
