It's a well known fact that every vagina has an odour, however that is not the issue. The question is, if you (and your partner) are comfortable with the odour down below. Some odours could be very strong, offensive, and almost unbearable; others, mild, natural, and easily ignored. How you smell "down there" has a great influence on your love-relationship and marriage.

It might be the unspoken reason why your partner keeps "running away"; or believe it or not, it might be one of the reasons why your partner can't wait to get home everyday, from work, to be with you! It makes and breaks marriages. Let's take a critical look at these key factors, on how to effectively manage vaginal odor;

DO I SMELL GOOD DOWN THERE?
Smelling "good" down there doesn't really come from using all those potentially harmful products like vaginal soaps, vaginal douches, cosmetic creams, vaginal sprays, vaginal perfumes, and so on. No! Don't use those things! They eventually do more harm than good. Every clean, infection-free vagina has an odour that is natural and unique. Every lady has her own smell, which might change, from time to time, depending on several factors (like health status, diet, and stage in menstrual cycle). This good smell--mild, soft, non-offensive--is from the normal, healthy vaginal secretions that frequently "wash" the vagina protecting it from harmful substances and microorganisms. All these scented, vaginal odour-removing products in the market affect the God-given cleansing mechanisms in the vagina, and "wicked" organisms can then invade the vagina and cause infections. This good smell is aphrodisiac, and most men love it (and could even kill another man for it)!

DO I SMELL BAD DOWN THERE?
This, according to my user-friendly system of classification, is vaginal odour from poor hygiene. Some ladies are only "clean" on the outside; inside doesn't look and smell good. This isn't good. The vagina produces normal cleansing secretions which has a mild, bearable smell but when allowed to get dried and stay for long periods becomes "bad" smell. This bad odour also comes from urine drops on panties, pubic hairs, and vaginal areas. The vagina and surrounding areas also have oil- and sweat-producing glands.

Imagine not taking your bath after a long, sweaty workout session in the gym! I am not advising that you "over-wash"; no, that will eventually affect that cleansing mechanism and cause infections. Wear clean, loose-fitting "pants" and underwears--fresh ones every new day. Cotton wears are preferable. Avoid tight wears as much as possible. After urinating, wash only the outside, and minimally; or you could simply dab or clean gently with tissue papers. After poo-pooing, always clean from the front to the back--to avoid smearing the vaginal area with faeces! When bathing, use only mild, non-perfumed soaps and only on the outside--the pubic hair region and vagina lips. Lukewarm water is always the best. Avoid the temptation of excessively washing "inside", even after sexual intercourse; moreover, it doesn't prevent pregnancy. Avoid bushy, unkempt pubic hairs. Follow these and you will restore back the fresh, clean, "good smell" !

DO I SMELL "UGLY" DOWN THERE?
This is caused by all those monstrous infections--sexually-transmitted, the so-called "toilet infections", and other genital tract infections. We have talked extensively on these before--in three different previous articles on this site.

This smell is strong, offensive, and especially worse and more noticeable after sexual intercourse. This "ugly" smell is usually associated with vaginal discharge, and, sometimes, with other symptoms like rashes and itchiness. Pungent, fishy smell. White curdy discharge. Even if your partner isn't complaining, for the sake of your health, relationship and fertility, please see a doctor immediately!!!.

Awka to crown 116 years old man as new monarch

The move by the Awka Council of Kingmakers led by Ozo Obuora Essel, to install a new traditional ruler to replace Obi Gibson Nwosu,
Ezeuzu II, is almost being achieved as the Izu Awka, the community’s General Assembly, on Sunday announced the emergence of Ozo Nwibe Nwosu ( Ozo Chibueze) as the oldest living person (Otochalu-Awka) in the community.

Ozo Nwosu from Umudioka aged 116 years was named as the oldest living person at the end of a vigorous search for the oldest living persons in the 33 villages that make up Awka.

His emerged after it was ascertained that he was older than the next contender, Ozo Akubue from Umunnoke whose age was put at 110 years. The new Otochalu-Awka replaces Ozo Otue from Umuoranma who passed on about two years ago.

It was gathered that intrigues to stop the emergence of Otochalu-Awka were hatched as opposition groups feared that the installation of the oldest person in Awka would pave way for the crowning of a new traditional ruler of Awka, following the alleged dethronement of Ezeuzu II a fortnight ago.

The Kingmakers had levelled 18 charges against Ezeuzu II, including violating the Traditional Rulers Amended Constitution for Awka 1986, as well as the Code of Conduct which he reportedly signed on January 1, 2000 after his crowning, amidst denials.

The state government had been communicated on the action of the Kingmakers who have threatened court action against the alleged dethroned traditional ruler, if he continued to parade himself.

To scuttle the emergence of Ozo Nwosu as the Otochalu-Awka, the State Police Command had despatched a team of fierce-looking armed Policemen in about 8 patrol vehicles to Umuoranma, the planned venue for the installation ceremony, but the pro-Otochalu-Awka group had beaten them to the game, having earlier named and installed him in a brief ceremony at Ndichie Hall Umudioka.

The police action followed the position of the state government to throw its weight behind the embattled royal father, whose loyalists in the parallel Awka Council of Kingmakers led by Ozo James Eze and President-General of ADUN, Engr. Tony Okechukwu dismissed the General Assembly’s move while reacting to the plot.

The government through the Commissioner for Local Government and Special Adviser to the Governor, Chief Greg Obi and Barrister Ikechukwu Onyeabor had warned against taking action capable of breaching the peace in the community and had given its support of continuity in office of Ezeuzu II as well as the President-General, Engr. Tony Okechukwu, who was replaced by Amobi Nwokoafor after the former’s tenure expire in 2015.

Most indigenes who spoke on condition of anonymity, frowned at government’s seeming partiality and overzealousness, questioning the audacity its audacity to stand in the way of the people’s choice to dethrone and enthrone a traditional ruler and President-General of the town union.

At the residence of the Otochalu-Awka, at Nwosisi Lane, it was celebration galore as indigenes thronged the place to felicitate with him.

It was learnt that the Otochalu-Awka is empowered to crown a new traditional ruler after six months in office of the named Regent, Ozo Essel who assumed the Regency office since April 19 this year.

No doubt, the most popular food in Nigeria today is rice. Most Nigerians do not see Pasta as a major meal and some of those who prefer it over rice consumption complain about its sticky nature.

After months of profound research, the management of Dangote Flour, unveiled new improved pasta products called ‘Ecccellente’. The re-vamped Pasta is made from durum wheat, which is the highest quality wheat in the world, meaning that Dangote New Pasta product is highly nutritious, non-sticky and with great tasting.

Ultimately, the re-vamped Pasta, is expected to reduce the dependency on rice consumption by Nigerians as more people are expected to embrace the innovate product, thereby crashing the price of rice in the country.

Speaking at the grand customer launch event in Kano recently, the executive director, Sales & Marketing, Halima Dangote, said the improved products will delight consumers and distributors as it comes with a new taste and new pack.

She said the re-brand followed the research by the company which indicated that the customers and consumers will prefer improved non-sticky Pasta.

According to Halimat, it is a new improved pasta with durum wheat. We did a lot of tests and research and it took us 6 to 8 months to get the right combination in order to give consumers quality pasta with the best taste.

She asserted that, “Despite being indigenous product, it can compete favourably with imported pasta.” Halima expressed delight that the products have started to gain acceptability given the large turn-out of people at the re-launch.

She said it was an honor to be at the unveiling of the new products and marketing campaign, saying, “I cannot emphasize enough that our goal is to ensure that we produce the best product that will delight you, our distributors, wholesalers and retailers.”

She said some countries have already signaled interest to import the innovative products from the Dangote pasta.

The group chief executive officer, Thabo Mabe, said, “Now we have the most attractive packaging – please stock up, these will be flying off the shelf when consumers see it. Our new pricing list will also leave you smiling.”

He said the new improved spaghetti and macaroni has in them durum wheat which reduces stickiness and improves the taste and the new move will grow the share value of the Dangote Flour Mills Plc on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

The past month has been a month of positive news for both the Management of Dangote Flour and its shareholders. Aside the introduction of improved Pasta that is expected to compete effectively with rice consumption in Nigeria, the Management also exited the noodles business and sold its assets to Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie noodles. This move, is also expected to boost the company’s turnover and profitability and ultimately benefits the company’s shareholders.

It would be recalled that the noodles business was part of the DFM, which the Dangote Group reacquired from Tiger Brands.

The group managing director/CEO, Dangote Flour Mills, Thabo Mabe, had hinted that the divestment was part of strategies of prioritizing core areas of flour and pasta production, where the company has substantial market share.

Experts said with the divestment, the Dangote Flour would now focus on its strengths in flour and pasta while leveraging on its advantages by improving in areas of quality, distribution and marketing.

Businessmen from Cameroon, Niger Republic and Ghana, according to Halima Dangote, have expressed their intention to commence the importation of the products into their various countries, describing the re-packaged spaghetti and macaroni as ‘irresistible’ and ‘enticing’.

She said the company was encouraged to improve the quality of the pasta after complaints that the product was sticky and easily gets perished when cooked. According to her, after a painstaking research, the company discovered that it needed an exotic durum to develop its quality to an international standard.

The ‘eccellente’ came in macaroni and spaghetti and in four different types, namely, Standard, Slim, Cavatto and Elbow.

Speaking at the event also, the deputy managing director/executive director, Supply Chain Alhaji Ahmed Yakassai said the improved product is a major development for consumers.

“Please go and tell others about all the positive changes that we have made in at Dangote Pasta. Please tell them that we now use durum wheat, which is the highest quality wheat in the world. So that means that our pasta is nutritious, non-sticky, and great tasting,” he said.

The Guest of Honour, Hajia Affia Dalhatu urged Nigerians to support the Dangote brand. “I believe in supporting Nigerian brands. Dangote has never failed to invest in Nigeria and to continue developing and placing our country on the global map. Even in the face of current economic challenges, they have gone ahead to improve the product and have added durum, a more expensive ingredient without a price increase,” she added.

Distributors and consumers who have tasted the products spoke glowingly of it. They said it is the best pasta product now in the country. The rebranded product was revealed with pyrotechnics and guests were served with the pasta delicacies.

Hajia Hannatu Usman, who owns eateries, assured that her customers will always ask for more. Guests who attended the ceremony had opportunity of having a taste of the pasta meal prepared by eateries like Dunkin pepper and M3 Kitchen Class, among others.

Apart from the taste, distributors and consumers also say the new innovative packaging is superb. Most of the customers who spoke to our correspondents at the launch ceremony expressed optimism that the product will compete with rice consumption in the country,

The rebranded product, which is introduced to compete with rice consumption, is expected to be the toasts of consumers’ very soon. “This new Pasta is very good. The taste is perfect. With the high cost of rice in Nigeria, I am sure most homes will abandon rice and opt for this Pasta now. The best alternative to rice has come” one of the customers who was at the launch ceremony said.

Statistics from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) estimates that rice demand in Nigeria reached 6.3 million MT in 2015, with only 2.3 million MT of that demand satisfied by local production. This local production shortfall leaves a gap of 4.0 million MT that is currently being filled through formal importation of rice or illegal imports over land borders.

By year-end 2017 Dangote Rice plans to produce 225,000 MT of parboiled, milled white rice. This will allow it to satisfy four per cent of the total market demand within 1 year.

Elder statesman and politician, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, who attended the relaunch of the pasta product, commended Aliko Dangote for the initiative, adding, “Aliko is quite innovative, I like what he is doing,” while urging Nigerian businessmen to copy him.

Ambode: Phasing out Danfo buses will create more jobs than losses

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday allayed fears that plans by his administration to phase out the
yellow commercial buses, popularly known as Danfo, would lead to massive job losses, saying that it would instead create more jobs in the transportation sector.

Ambode spoke at the May Day Rally held at the Agege Stadium to commemorate the 2017 Workers Day Celebration.

He said the Bus Reform Initiative, aimed at introducing over 5,000 air-conditioned buses to replace the Danfo buses, would open new vista of opportunities, while also redefining the means of road transportation in the State.

Responding to the fears raised by the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Lagos State Council, Comrade Idowu Adelakun, and his Trade Union Congress counterpart, Comrade Francis Ogunremi, on the implications of the initiative to drivers, conductors, mechanics and other artisans, Ambode assured that it would benefit all Lagosians on the long run.

He said: “If Lagos is to be globally competitive, we need to change the outlook of the way the city runs. What is of paramount interest to this government is to make sure that every Lagosian has a comfortable means of moving from one point to the other. But I promise you there will be no job losses.

“The Governor is not interested in driving all the new buses. It is the same bus drivers, the technicians, the mechanics that will also still be employed and trained to use these new buses. Instead of job losses, we are going to employ more people for the greater number of the buses and it will make the city more beautiful and more comfortable for all our workers.”

Ambode, who also addressed the request of the labour leaders on workers’ welfare, assured that as the State’s Internally Generated Revenue continues to increase, his administration would work out modalities to improve the welfare of workers in line with his mantra of all-inclusive governance.
The Governor said his administration was ready to look into the plight of pensioners as regards the pace of paying pension, assuring that the process would be fast-tracked immediately.

He said: “Just like we have said, we have provided vehicles for the unions but again it has not gone round and it has also not gone round to the private sector unions, we will complete the whole scheme before the end of the year.”

Ambode said as part of the celebration of 50 years of the State, his administration would provide a befitting State Secretariat for the NLC, while the government would also work on local and international training for labour leaders to make them relevant to the growth of the economy.

Governor Ambode also assured that the officers of the State Public Service, who according to him are the real drivers of the development in the State, would continue to be equipped with the necessary competencies and skills in order to deliver effective and efficient service to the people.

Commending the choice of this year’s May Day celebration, themed: “Labour Relations in Economic Recession: An Appraisal,” the Governor said the leadership of Labour unions had demonstrated a responsible sense of stakeholding in the joint enterprise to improve the society and leave lasting legacies for the generations to come through the creation of sustainable wealth and value.

Besides, the Governor enjoined the organised labour to continue to show understanding, while rightly insisting on the due and just entitlements of their members, saying that any industrial unrest will compound the challenges of economic recession.

“I wish to commend the example of Lagos State to the entire nation in respect of industrial harmony. In Lagos State, both the government and organised labour believe that negotiations are more democratic and effective than unilateral impositions by the government or unilateral demands by the workers,” he said.

While alluding to the fact that his administration would not have been able to fulfill the electoral promises without the support of the “most versatile, resilient and innovative Public Service in the nation”, he noted that the immense contributions of all workers in the private sector was also chiefly responsible for the pride of place that Lagos occupies in our nation, in Africa and in the world at large.

Earlier, Comrades Adelakun and Ogunremi commended Ambode for his commitment to workers’ welfare and the determination with which he had been transforming the State, describing the Governor as an accomplished accounting professional, creative intellectual, skilled planner and focused implementor.

May Day: Saraki, Dogara, Others Forced Out Of Eagle Square As Angry Workers Protest

Senate President Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, were forced to leave Eagle Square in Abuja during the workers’ day rally on Monday.

Trouble started after Ngige sent Biola Bawa, permanent secretary in the ministry of labour, to deliver his specch because he (Ngige) represented President Muhhammadu Buhari at the occasion.

But the workers chorused “no, no, no’’ at the move and continued to chant, “minimum wage, minimum wage.’’

The incident disrupted the May Day celebration for more than five minutes.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that as the workers surged toward the podium to protest the move, Mr. Ngige and top officials of the labour union had to step in to calm them.

The crowd thereafter shouted “we don win, we don win’’ as the permanent secretary stepped down from the podium and walked into state box.

NAN also reports that following the incident, many of the workers staged a walk-out from the square without taking part in the usual march past.

Three insiders in the Presidency have told SaharaReporters that President Muhammadu Buhari is being fed intravenously as he has had severe difficulty eating and drinking fluids for several days.

The sources also disclosed that, although President Buhari’s health had held up for a while after his return from an extended medical vacation in the United Kingdom, his condition has deteriorated in the last several weeks. They pointed to Mr. Buhari’s eating and drinking problems that have left him too frail to leave his official residence at Aso Rock Villa to attend any official functions.

Buhari has been unable to attend the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting three weeks in a row. Last week he also failed to attend the Friday Juma’at prayers because he had to undergo urgent medical treatment that had him confined to a medical room secretly set up inside the residential area of the villa.

President Buhari was also conspicuously absent from the wedding of his influential personal aide, Tunde “Idiagbon” Sabiu in Kaduna. The wedding, which was attended by political movers and shakers of the Nigerian society, became a scene for curious political power play. It became clear at the wedding that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was treated in a different light by opposing political interests present at the wedding. While some of them showed deference to Mr. Osinbajo, others seemed to pay him scant attention, even to the point of shunning his presence.

It was learned that the President’s British doctors had sent a medical team to the Villa to attend to him. However, our sources revealed that the medical team advised that the president should immediately return to the United Kingdom to begin what they described as a slow, complex and long-term treatment that could prolong his life.

Four weeks ago, it was disclosed that an advance team from the Presidency traveled to the UK to prepare for President Buhari’s imminent arrival there for medical treatment. However, following moves by a cabal opposed to their potential loss of political influence, the advance was recalled to Abuja. Our sources named Chief of Staff Abba Kyari as the anchor of the cabal which also includes Mamman Daura, a businessman, and Mr. Buhari’s kinsman.

A week later, members of the Presidency’s advance team were once again issued with fresh tickets to travel via Ethiopian Airlines, with the plan that Mr. Buhari would depart to the UK on April 15th 2017 for a four-month-long medical sojourn.

However, members of the cabal that wields enormous power in the Presidency, have so far frustrated the president’s trip.

The Nigerian president and his handlers have declined to reveal the nature of the ailment that has hobbled Mr. Buhari over several months, rendering him incapable of attending to matters of state with any regularity much less vigor. However, different sources close to him told Saharareporters that, in addition to prostrate issues, Mr. Buhari is also dogged by Crohn’s disease, a medical condition that has affected his digestive system.

Jose Mourinho described Manchester United's jammed-packed schedule as "not human" after a growing injury list threatened to wreck hopes of a place in next season’s Champions League.

U.S. rapper Eminem draws battle line against New Zealand govt.

Eminem has taken New Zealand’s governing party to court over a music track it used for a campaign advert.

The U.S. rapper says the song, used in the 2014 advert by the National Party, was an unlicensed version of Lose Yourself, one of his biggest hits.
But the party’s lawyers argue it was not actually Lose Yourself, but a track called Eminem-esque which they bought from a stock music library.
The case began on Monday, with the two tracks played in court.

A lawyer for Eight Mile Style – a publishing group representing the artist – said Lose Yourself was “iconic” and “without doubt the jewel in the crown of Eminem’s musical work”.

The 2014 advert featured shots of rowers and a voiceover urging people to “keep the team that’s working” and return the National Party to office at the coming election.

The backing track, Eminem-esque, was strikingly similar to Lose Yourself, which appeared in Eminem’s 2002 film 8 Mile.
It had the same insistent driving rhythm, though did not feature any words.

The track had been taken from a library made by production music company Beatbox.
Songs which sound similar to famous tracks – but different enough to avoid breaching copyright – routinely feature in free-to-use commercial music libraries.

But Eight Mile Style lawyer Gary Williams said the use of the song had been a breach of copyright.
He told the court that emails showed some in the National Party campaign team had raised copyright concerns at the time, but decided the composer, not them, would be liable.

That was “just wrong, in law” Mr Williams said, according to the New Zealand Herald.
Mr Williams said permission had only very rarely been given for use of Lose Yourself.

“When licensed, it can command in the millions of dollars. That’s how valuable it is,” he said.
The National Party denies being responsible for any copyright infringement.

Defence lawyer Greg Arthur said copyright was “not in any way proven by the name given to a piece of music”.
The case is expected to continue for six days.

A suburban Philadelphia pastor accused of sexually assaulting and impregnating a teenager has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to three to six years in prison after a judge rejected an earlier plea agreement as too lenient.

Thirty-five-year-old Jacob Malone, of Exton, was sentenced Friday after entering guilty pleas to institutional sex assault, corruption of minors and child endangerment. He also must register as a sex offender for 15 years.

Malone and prosecutors had reached an earlier plea deal that called for a two-year minimum jail term, but Judge Jacqueline Cody rejected that deal a month ago.

Malone was working at Calvary Fellowship, a nondenominational church in Downingtown, when authorities say he began sexually assaulting the girl in the fall of 2014, when she was in her late teens. She gave birth a year ago to their daughter. She maintained he took advantage of her "mentally, physically, spiritually."

In court, Malone admitted he gave the girl alcohol but said the sexual encounters were consensual. He apologized, saying his "failures and weaknesses" had hurt her, her family and his family.

"She admired me and trusted me, and I betrayed that," he said.

The original charges against Malone included rape. His defense attorney Evan Kelly said in a statement that Malone "has always been adamant" he did not rape the teenager but has admitted to other crimes. "And for that he is embarrassed, ashamed and truly remorseful," Kelly said.

District Attorney Emily Provencher said the woman is pleased an additional year was added to Malone's minimum jail term.

Malone will get credit for the more than one year he has served since his arrest in January 2016.

Donald Trump: South Korea media warns that US President might threaten existing alliance

South Korean media on Monday warned of a "Trump risk" threatening the alliance between Washington and Seoul amid high tensions over the North's weapons ambitions.

The two countries are bound by a defence pact and 28,500 US troops are stationed in the South.

But the new US president has said in recent interviews that Seoul should pay for a "billion-dollar" US missile defence system being deployed in the South to guard against threats from the nuclear-armed North.

He has also pushed for renegotiation of what he called a "horrible" bilateral free trade pact that went into effect five years ago, calling it an "unacceptable... deal made by Hillary".

The remarks stunned Seoul, with South Korean politicians immediately rejecting his push for payment for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery.

Tensions are high over the North's nuclear and missile programmes -- it has ambitions to develop a rocket that can deliver a warhead to the US mainland -- and threats on both sides have raised fears of conflict.

"Trump's mouth rattling Korea-US alliance" said a front-page headline in South Korea's top-selling Chosun daily on Monday.

"There are issues that are far more important than just money," it said in an editorial.

"If either country keeps reducing the alliance to the matter of money or the economy, it is bound to undermine basic trust."

Seoul, it said, needed to come up with "various Plan Bs" for the future.

The THAAD system is being installed at a former golf course in the South.

This has infuriated China, which sees it as compromising its own capabilities and has responded with a series of measures seen as economic retaliation, even as Washington looks to Beijing to rein in Pyongyang.

Trump told CBS on Sunday that if the North carried out a sixth nuclear test he "would not be happy".

"And I can tell you also, I don't believe that the president of China, who is a very respected man, will be happy either," Trump said.

"We'll see" whether that signified military action, said Trump, who also described the North's leader Kim Jong-Un as a "pretty smart cookie".

'Pain and backlash'

Over the weekend Seoul's presidential office said US National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster had appeared to backtrack on THAAD, telling his South Korean counterpart by phone that the US would bear the cost of the missile deployment as initially agreed.

But McMaster told Fox News Sunday that the "last thing" he would ever do was contradict the president, and that "the relationship on THAAD, on our defence relationship going forward, will be renegotiated as it's going to be with all of our allies".

Another major South Korean newspaper, JoongAng Ilbo, accused Trump's administration of sending "confusing and contradictory messages", creating a "chaotic situation" that dealt a "huge blow" to the bilateral alliance.

"The US must be well aware of the pain and backlash Seoul has endured to push for the THAAD deployment," it added.

Asked in the Fox News interview about the possibility of mass casualties in South Korea the event of conflict -- Seoul is within range of the North's conventional artillery -- McMaster responded: "What the president has first and foremost on his mind is to protect the American people."

Another major daily, Dong-A Ilbo, declared on its front page Monday: "Trump Risk... we need to come up with new strategy for Korea-US alliance".

The US president was pouring "a barrage of verbal bombs" on Seoul in a challenge to its next leader, who will be elected on May 9.

"We hope that Trump will be more careful with his words," it said in an editorial. "Who's going to smile if our alliance is shaken? It will be North Korea's Kim Jong-Un and China's Xi Jinping."

Man’s leg falls into lagoon in Third Mainland bridge accident

A passenger on Sunday morning lost his limb in an accident between a red Toyota and a Danfo bus on Third Mainland Bridge. His severed leg fell into the Lagoon.

The victim, a passenger in the danfo bus was seating in the front when the accident happened.

His limb was reported to have been entangled within crash barriers on the bridge before eventually falling into the lagoon.

RRS riders and monitors at the scene subsequently called for emergency unit to help recover the missing leg.

Recovery effort by the Marine Police and a team of RRS officials was on, while the man has been moved to Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos.

The vehicles have been removed by the LASEMA response unit.

Fresh ‘war’ brews between Presidency and Senate over Magu

The last appears not to have been heard about the conflict between the Presidency and the National Assembly over President Buhari’s determination to keep Ibrahim Magu as EFCC boss even after being rejected twice by the Senate.

The Punch reports that the upper house of legislature has concluded plans to block confirmation of nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This, the report says, is part of the lawmakers’ strategies for a showdown with the Presidency.

It was gathered on Sunday, April 30 that the Senate chose this line of action after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, a professor of law, backed human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) that Section 171 of the Constitution empowers the President to make some appointments without the approval of the National Assembly.

The Punch quotes an anonymous source in the leadership of the Senate as saying that the legislature and the executive have conflicting interpretation of the Constitution on their powers and responsibilities.

The embargo on appointments would now be placed until an intervention by the judiciary is achieved.

According to the source, the executive should go to court and not the legislature to get an interpretation of its powers.

The National Assembly source said on Sunday: “There is going to be a constitutional crisis in Nigeria because the Senate is now at a crossroads on what to do with the nominations made by the President for which he is seeking the confirmation by the Senate.

“Going by what Osinbajo said on Magu, it means that the nation’s Presidents from 1999, who sent nominations to the Senate for confirmation, had all breached the Constitution. Even Buhari, who has been sending nominations to the Senate, was not properly advised.”

The source added: “They may not (be considered, including those of the CBN, NERC and others just sent to the Senate, because of the claims made by the Vice-President. He spoke as if he was speaking the mind of the President.

“They (Presidency) should proceed to court to seek endorsement for their position. It is their business to go to the court, not the Senate’s. The Vice President has already stalled the nomination and confirmation processes by his unguarded statements.

“He somehow agreed with Falana that there is no need for legislative confirmation for the appointments. With the Section 171 claim by the Vice-President, the Senate is now at a crossroads on whether to go on with the confirmation (of appointments) or adopt the new claim by the Presidency.

“The National Assembly follows established laws, which have been used for all dealings with the other arms of government. If they now have a contrary view, they should go to court.”

The Punch however reports that the move by the Senate is not a widely accepted one as some lawmakers are against it.

A All Progressives Congress member of the upper house said the move would only make the Senate even more unpopular following series of recent actions that have received massive backlash.

The lawmaker said: “Between you and I, that is rubbish. The issue of Magu is rubbish; the issue of (the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service) Hameed Ali is rubbish.

“If some of us insist on Magu’s removal and Ali should appear before the Senate in uniform, how does that put food on the table of Nigerians? And we are supposed to focus on what can improve the life of the average Nigerians; we are not doing that. But we are busy with Ali, Magu and other issues. It is so unfortunate.”

Vice-Chairman of Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs Senator Ben Murray-Bruce hinted that plans are afoot to deal with the matter of conflict between the presidency and Senate.

This, he said, would be addressed on Tuesday, May 2.

He said: “By Tuesday, Senator Sabi (Abdullahi) will speak on the issue as reflected by the joint decision of the Senate. Nobody can take any individual position (on the matter); the Senate will take the position.

“Sabi will take that position because I have not gotten any official communication from the Senate and I don’t have any opinion (on the matter).”

NAIJ.com had earlier reported weeks back that following EFCC acting chairman Ibrahim Magu’s saga, the Nigerian Senate wasconsidering taking the matter of confirmation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointees to the Supreme Court.

The Senate had been concerned about submissions by legal luminaries like Femi Falana and others that President Buhari’s appointments were not subject to confirmation by the legislature.

Particularly worrisome to lawmakers in the upper house of legislature are the contents of section 171 of the constitution which the legal commentators use to buttress claims that Magu does not need the Senate’s confirmation.

After having his initial lawsuit in 2013 thrown out, a Kenyan lawyer , Dola Indidis has taken the Israeli government to the International Court of Justice (ICJ ) , over the crucifixion of Jesus Christ .

According to Kenya Daily , Indidis intends to use the Bible as evidence in his pursuit of justice over the death of Jess Christ who was killed by the Jews over 2000 years ago and is confident of winning the case.

The fiery lawyer renewed his lawsuit in March 2017 with the petition to the IJC and wants Israel to be held responsible for the trial, crucifixion , and death of Jesus Christ on the cross .
According to court papers , Indidis, a former spokesman of the Kenyan Judiciary , accused the state of Israel of atrocities committed against Jesus Christ during the ancient times and urged the court to hold the country accountable for the inhuman torture and pain Jesus was put through at that time .

Defending his move before journalists , Indidis said :

“ Evidence today is on record in the Bible , and you cannot discredit the Bible . I filed the case because it ’s my duty to uphold the dignity of Jesus and I have gone to the ICJ to seek justice for the man from Nazareth . ”

The controversial lawyer also involved other parties in his legal suit and among those he included in the lawsuit are Pontius Pilate , King Herod , the Roman Emperor Tiberius, Italy and a number of Jewish elders .

In his petition , Indidis also exacted the kind of questioning used during Jesus ’ s trial, questioning , hearing , and sentencing .
