The latest "Harry Potter" movie cast a $104million spell over world wide box offices during its first day in theaters, it is setting a new record!! for the boy wizard.

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," based on the popular books by J.K. Rowling, grossed $58.18 million in the North America and $45.85 million overseas on Wednesday, the Time Warner studio said.

The latest "Harry Potter" movie also ranks as the 4th-highest single day gross for a film release in the North America, behind
No.1 "Dark Knight" ($67.1 million),
No. 2 "Transformers: Revenge,"

New Game Show Will Try to Turn Atheists Into Believers

Kanal T, a television station in Turkey, is preparing to launch a new game show in September which features spiritual guides from four faiths that will attempt to convert atheists into believers. Winners go to Mecca, Jerusalem, Tibet, or the Vatican.

Not everyone is on board with "Penitents Compete," with a Muslim representative in Turkey saying: "Doing something like this for the sake of ratings is disrespectful to all religions. Religion should not be a subject for entertainment programs."

A Kanal T spokesman said: "We are giving the biggest prize in the world, the gift of belief in God. We don't approve of anyone being an atheist. God is great and it doesn't matter which religion you believe in. The important thing is to believe."

North Korea Fires Missiles, Again

North Korea test fired seven ballistic missiles that are capable of traveling 400-500km. North Korea is barred from firing ballistic missiles according to UN Security Council resolutions 1695,1718,and 1874.

This act comes only two days after the July 2nd test firing of 4 short range missiles, and is consider an act of defiance towards the US because of its 4th of July Independence day. The exact models of missiles is unknown at this time.

North Korea is estimated to have 1,000 ballistic missiles, 700 scud missiles and 320 Rodong missiles. In 2006 on the 4th of July, N. Korea test fired long-range Taepodong-2 Missiles along with other short and mid range missiles.

Margery Tannenbaum took matters into her own hands after her daughter and a friend had an argument. She placed an ad on Craigslist saying "I need a little affection...I'm blond, I'm cute and I'll be waiting."

When men responded to the ad she gave them the name and number of the 9 year old girl. The victim's mother said she received over 40 calls, 22 of them in the first day. One man that called stated "Oh. Hot lady lives with foxy mamma?"

Tannenbaums attorney has been quoted as saying "I think this has been blown out of proportion to what the actual alleged act was." He further went to say how his client, a social worker has never been in trouble, is a room mom and well loved by all.

Farrah Fawcett Dies From Cancer at 62

62 year old Farrah Fawcett has finally died from cancer. First diagnosed 3 years ago, she died at 9:28 am PST at St. John’s Heath Center in Santa Monica, Calif where she had recently been admitted.

Her longtime companion Ryan O'Neal was by her side. Her career spanned over 30 years. "I became famous almost before I had a craft," she was quoted as saying in a 1986 interview.

She is survived by her 24 year old son Redmond O'Neal who is currently in jail for drug offences.

China Interrupts Access to Google, Starts Row

Google has been accused of spreading pornography and breaking the law in China amid a row that saw access to the search engine, and its Chinese-language counterpart, blocked completely in some areas of the country.

Google was blocked after the United States warned China against adding net-censoring software on all new PCs in the country. Google's mail service was also knocked out of commission in China, along with some other Google products.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Qin Gang said: "We have found that Google has spread a lot of pornographic content, which is a serious violation of Chinese laws and regulations." The US said the net filter violates free trade agreements.

The person at Michael Jackson's home who called 911 Thursday told the operator the singer wasn't breathing and wasn't conscious, according to a recording of phone call released Friday.

Autopsy results may shed light into the death of pop star Michael Jackson.

1 of 3 "I need an ambulance," the person told the 911 operator.

Police spoke with Jackson's doctor on Thursday but have been unable to reach him Friday for further questioning, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

A car the doctor was using was towed from Jackson's home Thursday and impounded, authorities said.

The car may contain "medications pertinent to the investigation" into Jackson's death, said detective Agustin Villanueva of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police did not release the doctor's name.

Florida: Approximately 2,000 pounds of marijuana seized in raids last year has been fed into a waste-to-energy incinerator. 72 people faced charges as a result of 62 drug seizures.

While the smoke was released away from where anyone could get high from it the crop was by no means wasted. According to Recycled Energy Development VP John Wilson a ton of marijuana will supply power to "40,000 100-watt light bulbs for an hour"

Three year old girl beheaded

A three year old girl was beheaded after an attack in New Guinea. The attack is though to be over a land dispute. Police made the shocking discovery on Sunday when there were reports of seven men who had abducted the girl from a costal village.

Four men have already been arrested over her killing and investigations continue until the three other suspects are appreheaded. The men also attacked the girl's mother who managed to escape with an infant child.

The body of the girl is still missing. The murder could be connected to a conflict between Manam islanders and Bogia locals.

Mars and/or Venus May Collide with Earth

Astronomers have calculated that Earth could be on a collision course with one of our neighbouring planets, Mars and Venus. The probabilty is tiny, and if it did happen, it would be in at least a billion years time.

However, the calculations based on simulations into planetary evolution over the next billion years. The simulations also showed that Mars could be thrown out of our solar system by a close encounter with Jupiter.

Over 2,500 simulations, there were various times where Venus or Mars collided with our planet. The simulations are based on current orbits, but also on the slight fluctuations in the planetary orbits discovered just 20 years ago.

Woman Who Should Have Been on Air France Flight 447 Dies in Car Crash

An Italian woman in Austria has died just days after missing the doomed Air France flight 477 in Brazil and having to catch another one home. She was travelling in her car with her husband when it veered across the road and crashed into a truck.

Johanna Ganthaler was killed on impact and her husband, who was with her in Brazil, suffered from serious injury. Had they been on their flight from Brazil, they would have most definitely have died when it crashed in the Atlantic.

It's not known, however, if it was not on or if it was broken.

Experts on the weather say that the storm that the plane flew into was "exceptional for the season."

Clashes over road blocks protesting the fate of Peruian rain forests and the policies of the Lima government have led to blood shed. Nine police and seven indigenous people are dead as a result of clashes over what Amazon people see as bad policy.

Protesting the loss of rain forests due to mining and drilling caused Amazons to blockade roadways and attracted police action.
This conflict took place near Bagua, a city 620 miles north of Lima.

A curfew has been imposed in Bagua and the surrounding area to quell this unrest.

Massive Underwater Mountain Discovered -- Could Be Powerful Volcano

An underwater mountain discovered off the coast of Sumatra in Indonesia could be a powerful volcano situated in the region of high volcanic and tectonic activity known as the Pacific "Ring of Fire."

The mountain was discovered early in May and stands about 4,600 meters (15,100 feet) high and has a diameter of 50 kilometers at its base. Its summit is 1,300 meters below the surface of the water.

Indonesian geologist Yusuf Surachman said, "It looks like a volcano because of its conical shape, but it might not be. We have to conduct further investigations. Whether it's active or dangerous, who knows?"

Wikipedia Declares Scientology a Suppressive Person

Online encyclopedia Wikipedia has banned IP addresses from the Chruch of Scientology and its associates from editing Wikipedia pages. This is the first time Wikipedia has made a move like this against an entire organisation.

Wikipedia claims Scientologists have been removing criticism of the controversial church and adding promotional or self-serving information. Wikipedia claims allowing this practice would be "damaging Wikipedia's reputation for neutrality."

This comes on the heels of a trial in France that could end up with the banning of the church throughout the country.
The church of Scientology has yet to respond to the Wikipedia ban.

Scientist Claims He Has Pieces of UFO Which Sacrificed Itself to Save Earth

Russian scientist Dr Yuri Labvin claims to have recovered quartz slabs covered in strange markings from near the site of the mysterious 1908 explosion known as the "Tunguska event". Labvin believes the quartz is from a control panel in a UFO.

Labvin says that the technology to do this sort of printing on quartz crystal doesn't exist on earth. He also claims to have recovered ferrum silicate which can only be produced in space.

His theory is that unexplained explosion was caused by a UFO deliberately colliding with a massive meteor that would have obliterated earth. UFOlogist Nick Pope, who has worked for the MoD, is unconvinced but has called for the quartz to be analysed.

In what is been suspected as a coordinated attack by the infamous 4Chan hackers, popular video sharing site Youtube has been flooded with what could amount to thousands of porn videos and clips containing graphic sexual content.

Over 20 hours of video content is uploaded onto Youtube every minute and technical staff are said to be working around the clock trying to remove any unsuitable content for the site.

The videos were apparently uploaded under the guise of clips containing clips of Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers .It may take considerable time to find and remove all the offensive clips according to Youtube.

Germany: 27-year-old wannabe gangster Lukas Neuhardt has undergone surgery to repair damage done when the gun in his pocket fired a bullet through his penis. It is believed that the safety catch wasn't on at the time of the incident.

Neuhardt initially claimed he was shot during a mugging. After discovering that the only hole in the pants was inside the pocket police dismissed his story and charged him under newly introduced firearm control laws.

"There was a charred hole in his pocket so either it was the shot of the century or he did it himself," said a source inside Saarbruecken police. If he is convicted he could be jailed for three years.

Two men Hugh Robertson- 87, & 58-year-old Donald Robertson was found by their neighbor hanging in their home. Coroner Simon Nelson said the the men men were "gentlemen" and in the last ten years this is the one of most saddening of cases.

The Father suffered with arthritis and high blood pressure. Both he and his unmarried son shared the home together his son was a draughts man and was also trained as a glider pilot, until he was diagnosed with Dystonia, causing him to have spasms.

Hugh was told by his GP to get rid of his pet pigeon due to his breathing problems. His sister in law relating to the 2 men said: "I don't think they could have lived without each other." A note was found explaining & about their conditions.

College Student Grew Pot in Her Dorm, Forgot to Clean it Out

Police in Unity, Maine, have arrested a college student after security guards at Unity College discovered at least 10 marijuana plants in her dorm room, which she didn't clean before leaving for the summer.

The 19-year-old was charged with cultivation, use and sale of marijuana. The college security guards were running checks of the dorms to ensure they had been properly cleaned out. The plants were found in plastic containers.

The woman, who was not named in the report, is to appear in court on the 7th of July.

A female Handy Mart clerk contacted police when a man entered the store with his genitals exposed. This was the third time he had exposed himself to this same clerk. 29 y.o. Derrick Wiggins was arrested and charged with 3 counts of indecent exposure.

During the arrest police also found a small package of marijuana and Wiggins was also charged with driving without a license. At the time of arrest Wiggins was wearing a pair of sweat pants with a hole cut out in the front.

After identifying Wiggins for the police, the clerk told detectives Wiggins had exposed himself to her on 2 previous occasions. Wiggins confessed to the incidents saying he believed the clerk wanted to see his genitals.

Republican National Committee member James Bopp Jr. says President Obama wants "to restructure American society along socialist ideals." He and others in the RNC have drafted a resolution to rename the Democratic Party the "Democrat Socialist Party."

"The proposed resolution ... calls upon the Democrats to be truthful and honest with the American people by renaming themselves the Democrat Socialist Party," said Bopp. He compared the branding to Reagan calling the Soviet Union an "evil empire."

Bopp believes RNC chair Michael Steele will set a special committee meeting in May on the matter. The GOP began calling Democrats "socialists" last election; recently Rep. Spencer Bachus (R.-Ala) said 17 socialists are serving in Congress.

Massachusetts: Six years after the incorrect spelling of Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg aka Webster Lake on the Route 12 and 193 signs was first reported by the Telegram & Gazette an agreement has been reached to fix the signs.

Over 20 spelling variations are listed by the US Geographic Names Information System but the spelling on the signs is not one of them. The accepted spelling appears in about a third of documents referencing the lake but may not be the oldest variant.

"People said, 'I don't care what your investigation said. It's still wrong.' So this is an unbelievable situation, but there's so much history on those signs," said Webster Lake Association president Richard D. Cazeault.
