Exclusive: Ladyhawk Branch Out into Sports, Set Sights on Third Album

Since the release of their excellent sophomore album, Shots, in 2008, Vancouver, BC's Ladyhawk have done a bunch of touring and then slowed things down a little, with members breaking off into various side-projects. One such project are Sports, the math-y indie rock band fronted by Ladyhawk drummer Ryan Johnson, featuring fellow Hawk-mate Darcy Hancock, along with former Jaws guitarist Ryan Marshall on drums. The Paperbacks Announce Sprawling Double Album

Earlier this week, the news broke that rock’n’roll granddads Aerosmith were facing a dire future after singer Steven Tyler apparently quit. Tyler told media outlets that he was planning to work on the brand of himself, “Brand Tyler,” as he put it. Strange Boys Line Up New Album for 2010, Open for Julian Casablancas in Vancouver

Blue Rodeo Celebrate New Album with Rooftop Performance, Announce Cross-Canada Tour

Lil Wayne’s Rebirth Gets Official Release Date, Tha Carter IV Pushed Back to 2010

Rammstein LP Banned from Display in Germany

German industrial metal band Rammstein’s latest album, Liebe ist für alle da has officially been banned from display at all retailers in Germany. The cover, which features the band about to carve a naked young lady up for dinner on a banquet table, has been deemed inappropriate for viewing by young eyes and must, as of Wednesday, be sold under the counter, only to persons of 18 years or older with identification. Nine Inch Nails Fans Demand Public Apology After Right-Wing Group Calls Trent Reznor’s Guantanamo Bay Efforts “Pathetic”

Of Montreal Rejoin Jon Brion for New Album

In January of this year, producer/composer Jon Brion leant his talents to Of Montreal for An Eluardian Instance AKA the Jon Brion EP. The disc featured Brion's reinterpretations of two songs from full-length Skeletal Lamping, "An Eluardian Instance" and "Gallery Piece," both of which were remixed and overlayed with additional instrumentation. Well, according to a post on Of Montreal's Twitter, the band are planning to work with Brion once again, this time on their upcoming full-length album. (More after the jump.)
