back "home" recently.

A few years ago we had far to many active projects and therefor ahd to restrict Tiiws.com's services to "Per Recommendation Only".

Tiiws.com finally is active again, former G*Team-Solutions have been merged into Tiiws.com's services. PC Remote and On-site Assistance were the first services re-activated for the public. Same as you experienced in this newsletter/blog ... we took care of a minimum of bureaucracy. Your desire is to have your PC repaired and not ... to fill in forms for hours, right?

Soon you also may take advantage of Tiiws.com's original services again --- Web Design, domain registration, website hosting and marketing as well as Search Engine Optimization.

Thank you for your interest in our publication of this newsletter/blog, we look forward to see you subscribing to our new newsletter/blog at Tiiws.com again.

<!--

As always, we continue to focus on speed, and this beta release shows over 30% improvement on both the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks over our current stable channel release. We've also improved two of the most loved and most used features of Google Chrome: the New Tab page and the Omnibox. Plus, we decided to add a little bit of style by allowing you to deck out your browser with colors, patterns, and images.

  Continue here >>>

Source: Google Chrome Blog

<!--

Microsoft: Congratulations for this master peace!

Last night I finally installed Windows 7 RC. My first impression, already during installation - Win 7 is Microsoft's master peace.

It starts already at installation instructions - Microsoft obviously took their time and created an instruction that even a "normal" user can follow without problems. Although the first Beta Release was already in a better condition than Vista ever will be Microsoft even warns about installing the Release Candidate as main OS. RCs are more than less the final product, they are just released to the public in order to eliminate last flaws of the new product.

If you are not 100 % PC-savvy, but still like to take advantage of the opportunity to test Win 7, just follow exactly Microsoft's pre-installation and installation instructions. You will be done in a heart beat and can start enjoying the new feeling.
I created a "dual-boot" system and, already crazy to start with installing, I forgot to disconnect my USB devices. No problem with Win 7 - The "Information Center" informed me friendly about the connected USB devices and provided even links to download the correct drivers from my devices' manufacturer site. I followed the instructions and my devices started working.

The task tray received a perfect work over - no hectic coming and going of hidden task tray icons anymore. You just see the default tray icons, all others are hidden. Clicking the arrow that formerly expanded the task tray allows a small pop-up window to appear, which will show all other running applications that should be down there.
I think it won't be necessary to explain all new features, there are hundrets of reports out there already. In case you haven't read any of them yet, here is a link to one of them.

Themes - comparing to former Windows versions - have improved drastically, although they still won't win a price. But, nothing to worry about, there are these wonderful freelancers taking care of this issue, offering their arts work at locations of additional applications, necessary to install these freelance themes or, at devianART.

UAC - Vista user's nightmare, finally was eased up. Still, if you are a merging XP user, this is a feature you'll have to get used to or ... simply disable it, if you are the only user on your PC or the only one installing software. This feature is useful only for people, who are really not PC-savvy at all.

To be continued soon ...

<!--

The recent advent of drive-by downloads have been part of a new transformation in badware, the botweb. This web-only cycle is a result of the profliferation of cheap turn key web hosting which led to massive adoption among novice computer users. The huge population of consumer web masters, untrained in security matters, had the same effect as broadband adoption in the 1990s. Attackers are presented with a target rich environment with minimal security protection or monitoring.

Continue here >>>

Source: The StopBadware Blog

<!--

Emptying the garbage bin did not resolve the issue.

You discovered software on you PC that you never installed.

Looks like a unimportant issue: Some of your task tray buttons disappeared. It actually is not an unimportant issue.

You have subscribed to multiple messenger services like AIM, Yahoo!, ICQ etc. and all these little messenger windows bother.

And much more ...

Now what? Get your PC to a service station or call a technician to visit you?

Disconnecting your PC from all periphery and getting it to a repair service takes quite some time. Your PC will have a rest at the service station until it will be repaired; and you are home without any PC for the time being.

Calling a technician for an on site service/repair is quite costly. Don't forget ... they also will charge their waytime.

The best and fastest solution is Remote Assistance.

Just contact support with our website messenger and describe symptoms experienced with your PC. We will help immediately.
Remote assistance is not just for resolving an actual issue only. You also may subscribe to scheduled maintenance service and forget about maintaining your PC.

Connection between your and our PC is secure and protected.
Connecting is extreme simple: Our support will provide a link to download a small password generator, you create the password and type it into the support messenger. The technician will connect to your PC. Once the issue was resolved and the interconnection closed we cannot re-connect to your PC anymore - The password you provided was for one-time use only!

We provide following services and service plans:

Services:

Software repair.

Software installation.

Software configuration.

Combine multiple messenger services into one single application.

Removal of Adware, Spyware, Pop-Up Generators, Keyloggers, Trojans, Hijackers, and other Malware.

Internet connection speed test.

IP integrity test. - Is your IP black listed?

Security checks - How save is your PC against intrusion?

And much more ... You name it, we do it.

Service Plans:

Weekly or bi-weekly PC cleaning and defragmenting service.

Monthly or bi-monthly PC cleaning and defragmenting service.

Regular removal of Adware, Spyware, Pop-Up Generators, Keyloggers, Hijackers, and other Malware.

Regular PC update service (We update your software to latest standards).

Customized maintenance/service plans according to your demand.

Price List:

Quick Help by website messenger only:

U.S.$/€ - FREE

Remote Assistance:

U.S.$/€ - 25.00/hour, we charge in ¼ hour increments.

Service Plans:

U.S.$/€ - Please inquire at support [at] tiiws.com

If we fail to resolve your issue:

U.S.$/€ - FREE

Request Remote Assistance now:
We try to make requesting assistance as easy as possible. If it was saved to your disc/desktop, double-click the downloaded file; this will initiate installation.

Click on "Show My PC" button to generate password and make your computer accessible remotely.

Give the password to remote assistance technician. He will choose "View remote PC" option.

<img style="width: 495px; height: 226px;" alt="Give the password to remote assistance technician. Note that this plug-in consists of a single executable file approximately 1.2MB in size and is unpacked into a temporary folder automatically. No registry entries or hooks into your browser are created and the files are removed automatically the next time you perform a Disk Cleanup.

Depending on your browser's configuration, the plug-in will open and install automatically, or it will be saved to your disc (most of the times to your desktop). If you have the choice to open and install or to download the executable file choose Open. If it was saved to your disc/desktop, double-click the downloaded file; this will initiate the automatic installation.

The entire correspondence between you and assistance support will be recorded and forwarded to you per email upon request. Session will start from the moment we provide the download link for the remote session plug-in. We will comment every adjustment/correction done. You can watch the entire procedure. Session end will be initiated by the time of session end shown in your session chat window. We believe in your honesty and do not request any deposit. Payment will be due upon receipt of our invoice and has to be balanced by credit card, PayPal or wire transfer.

     Last updated: July 28th, 2009

Contact and Legal Information:

Owner

Georg Fritscher

N.I.F.

X-9337086-Y

Medium

Tiiws.com (News For Users)

Mailing Address

Calle Fasnia 7
E- 38588 Abades-Arico
Sta. This, of course, is not a task that may be accomplished within one day, so please, continue to bear with us and watch the links of our menu.

As you can see at our new header, the first, and possibly most urgent service to be revitalized will be Remote Assistance. This should be accomplished over the weekend.Of course we will continue our non-buraeucratic style. To contact us you will find a messenger window. For security purposes there will be a password generator to be downloaded in order to create a secure connection between your and our PC. Don't get scared ... there also will be a "How to" manual; the entire procedure is extreme simple.

Thank you again for all your patience within the last months, we look forward to work with you again.

<!--

At an event in Belgium on Thursday, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that the company might reconsider its decision to stop selling Windows XP on June 30. An Associated Press report quoted him as saying: "If customer feedback varies, we can always wake up smarter."

This news broke after we spent three months of campaigning for a stay of execution for XP, and we were elated. Microsoft was finally listening to the outcry over the unnecessarily disruptive effects of customers being pushed to upgrade to Vista. Victory was at hand.

Our joy lasted only a couple of hours. According to a subsequent report from Reuters, the second half of Ballmer's quote was: " ... but right now, we have a plan for end-of-life for new XP shipments." A Microsoft spokesperson later confirmed that (aside from already existing exceptions), the June 30 end-of-sale date was not going anywhere.

Click the banner to sign the petition.

Continue here >>>

<!--

Whether it's molasses-slow bloatware, shameless adware, anemic default apps, or "Your trial period has expired!" nagware, it's time to replace stinky Windows software with its superior (but lesser-known) alternative. Last week we asked what software you should never install on your PC, and over 200 comments later, you compiled quite a list. Today we're going to take a walk down the Crapware Hall of Shame, point and laugh at the worst offenders, and highlight some better choices.

Continue here >>>

<!--

Considering other browsers including Safari and Opera probably have a strong presence in Europe as well, it could also mean that Firefox is used even more than Internet Explorer in those same countries.

Continue here >>>

<!--

One disadvantage could be OS incompatibility. For example Windows 95/98 users and old Mac OS X versions users will not be able to upgrade to Firefox 3 as Windows 2000 is the minimum requirement. These same users wouldn’t be able to access financial web sites if PayPal’s advice was followed.

Continue here >>>

<!--

The company's free Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) is currently installed on 450 million systems worldwide, and provides the Redmond giant with some interesting data. Of the 129.5 million potentially unwanted programs detected by the MSRT, only 71.7 million were removed by users. Judging from this Information Week report, it's not clear if the users actually "like" having spyware like WinFixer (3.4 million instances) on their systems, or if they're just not tech savvy (or bright) enough to know it should be removed.

Continue here >>>

<!--

This deactivation, whether deliberate or by accident -- as has been the case in some 500,000 cases already according to a study last year -- locks you out of your computer, and forces you to contact Microsoft to get access to your files.

While they may have now ostensibly removed the kill switch from Vista, they have not updated the hostile license they say you must agree to in order to use Vista. Vista still restricts your freedom, because freedom at the whim of someone else is not freedom.

Continue here >>>

<!--

The clock is ticking!

Microsoft plans to end most sales of Windows XP on June 30, despite a deep reluctance by many business and individuals about moving to Vista. InfoWorld believes such an expensive, time-consuming shift with problematic benefits should not be forced on Windows users, so we have decided to rally XP users to demand that XP be kept available.

Source: InfoWorld

Microsoft will end OEM and shrink-wrapped sales of Windows XP on June 30, 2008, forcing users to shift to Vista. (System builders, meaning those who do white-box PCs, can sell XP through December 31.) Don't let that happen!

Millions of us have grown comfortable with XP and don't see a need to change to Vista. It's like having a comfortable apartment that you've enjoyed coming home to for years, only to get an eviction notice. The thought of moving to a new place -- even with the stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and maple cabinets (or is cherry in this year?) -- just doesn't sit right. Maybe it'll be more modern, but it will also cost more and likely not be as good a fit. And you don't have any other reason to move.

That's exactly the conclusion people have come to with Vista. For most of us, there's really no reason to move to it -- yet we don't have a choice. When that strong desire to stick with XP became obvious in spring 2007, major computer makers such as Dell and Hewlett-Packard quietly reintroduced new XP-based systems (but just to business customers, so as not to offend Microsoft). Come June 30, however, even that option goes away.

So what to do? Let Microsoft decide where your personal and enterprise software "lives"? Or send a loud and clear message that you don't want to move?

We're going for the loud-and-clear option. Join us, and tell Microsoft that you want to keep XP available indefinitely. Not for another six months or a year but indefinitely.

And ask your friends and colleagues to join in, too. Just point them to SaveXP.com for a quick link to this page. And if you'd like to publish our countdown animation on your Web site to help promote this petition, e-mail Executive Editor Galen Gruman for the code snippet.

Continue here >>>

<a title="Help saving XP! Every day you hear about a new threat to your PC. They're coming faster than ever before, they're getting harder to stop and traditional antivirus products are not able to keep up.

Source: http://www.threatfire.com/

Will your antivirus software catch the latest malware that just came out today? In most cases, no, because it simply does not know how to detect it yet. But ThreatFire's ActiveDefense technology does, and has proven to provide up to 243% more protection when combined with traditional AntiVirus products.

If I already have antivirus software why do I need ThreatFire?

ThreatFire is dramatically different to traditional antivirus software. Normal antivirus products usually need to have first identified and seen a threat before they can provide adequate protection against it. The protection is then provided via a signature or fingerprint update, which must first be written by an antivirus researcher. This creates a large window of time where threats are undetected and can therefore infect your PC even when you have antivirus software installed.

Continue here >>>

<!--

So Google knows what web addresses are being visited. If you are logged on some Google service, it’s probable it also knows what web addresses you visit.

By default this mode is turned off. Instead, Firefox downloads a list of newly reported phishing sites twice an hour, web addresses are checked against it and Google knows nothing.

The user, iritant, thinks this is news, so he posts it to Slashdot. Slashdot agrees and approves it. The Inquirer thinks it’s a slow week for Firefox/Mozilla news and this is the best it will get so Nick Farrel posts an article about it: “Google is getting shedloads of information on the sorts of sites you are visiting”, reads the center paragraph.

Now we can wait and see it making the usual round on blogs and tech news and social bookmarking sites.

For clarifications purposes ...

Continue here >>>

<!--

Rather than having to run around the Web to see what's going on out there in the world, you can let the world come to you.

Source: FreeDownloadaDay.com

Whether it's news and politics, social networking, or the musings in the blogosphere, the world literally beats a path to your door through RSS syndication of content.

RSSOwl is a free newsreader that lets you read news the way you want to. Along with the expected subscribe and read functionality, there are extras that deserve a good look. Enhanced search capability allows you to find just the posts you are interested in.

You can also search for newsfeeds you haven't discovered yet, helping you to cover your interests even better. Once you find a site you like, RSSOwl will scour the site, looking for every feed that they feature.

Continue here >>>

<!--

The answer is simple: any user who chooses to use Windows Update either expected updates to be installed or to at least be notified that updates were available."

Well, if Microsoft understands that a person wants to decide to install their own updates, then they should be respectful of that user's choice and be consistent with their policy. Being consistent means that they should tell the user that an update to Windows Update is available and that if they want it to continue to work properly, that this update should be installed. Maybe the user will decide to stop using Windows Update altogether, or maybe they will install the update. Either way, it should be the user that decides, not Microsoft.

Continue here >>>

<!--

Enoch / ConsumerAffairs.Com

Comcast has warned broadband Internet customers across the country to curb their downloading or wind up on the curb.

The company has a bandwidth limitation that, if broken, can result in a 12-month suspension of service. The problem, according to customer complaints, is that the telecom giant refuses to reveal how much downloading is too much.

The company, which a few years ago advertised the service as “unlimited” has an “acceptable use policy” which enforces the invisible download limit.

The 23-part policy, states that it is a breach of contract to generate “levels of traffic sufficient to impede others' ability to send or retrieve information.” But nowhere does it detail what levels of traffic will impede others.

Continue here >>>

More about this issue

Does Comcast Broadband Have an Invisible Bandwidth Limit?

Bandwidth Abuse Suspension Information

Comcast (CMCSA) Vs. A new rouge wave of credit card fraud jeopardizes thousands of credit card owners!

The first incident was already reported to PayPal July 13th. In the meantime thousands of credit and debit card owners have been jeopardized by fraudulent charges from STC SAWA RECHARGE RIYADH SA, a Saudi Arabian prepaid phone card company.

Watch your credit or debit card purchases and bank statements closely. STC SAWA RECHARGE RIYADH SA charges most of the time an amount close to $80; an amount, which is not too obvious as a fraudulent charge, but be careful ... they do not charge your credit or debit card once only, these charges show up in a series of two and a few days later another three.

Enter "STC SAWA RECHARGE RIYADH SA" into Google search engine, you'll find a vast amount of reports in the meantime. Find below a small selection of links to reports about STC SAWA RECHARGE RIYADH SA's fraudulent charges.

1. Ripoff Report
2. Online Merchant Network
3. Saint Kansas
4. Resellerratings.com
5. eBay Forums
And the list continues. Check Google here.

<!--

A fifth of these people blame the internet. In fact, the top reason people shy away from internet shopping is the fear of theft of personal information.

Source: Seeking Alpha - Sound Money Tips

Virtual credit cards, also known as substitute credit card numbers or controlled payment numbers, have already been around almost seven years but have never caught on despite being a free and effective layer of protection.

Here’s how they work. You sign up for the program (MBNA, Citibank, Discover and PayPal all have them.) and download their software. Enter your credit card info, and generate a new number whenever you want to make an online purchase.

Depending on the program, the new number will be one-time use, have a small spending limit with an imminent expiration date, or will be able to be used multiple times but only with one merchant.

Continue here >>>

<!--

This support however is not extensive. For example, Matroska files distinguish for its ability to embed multiple audio and subtitle tracks in a single container. However there’s no way to change audio track or select a subtitle so far which is just sad. I was really hoping for it to be a silver bullet for the mess Internet delivered video is, but according to a forum discussion it may not be available until after 1.0 release.

Central to Miro is the Miro Guide, a video browsing interface to iTunes, that presents a collection of Channels created by video publishers. In Miro, Channels are nothing but video podcasts: web feeds with media specific tags that allow Miro to get the actual video files.

Continue here >>>

<!--
