Man Jumps in During Freak Storm to Rescue 4 People From Sinking Florida Houseboat

After Gulf conditions off the Florida panhandle changed rapidly, one resident attempted to rescue three people trapped in a capsized houseboat.

Another boat saw what was happening and came to help—and even rescue—the rescuer, demonstrating the diffusion of heroism among the folks of the Florida Gulf community.

It started last Friday when Travis Brady and his friends left the Panama City marina on the opening day of red snapper season with storm clouds coming fast behind them. Loathe to miss the chance for a big catch, they nevertheless decided to call it a day early when the water became smattered with 5-6 foot waves.

On the way back to the marina, they saw a houseboat—a floating general store that served watermen near a sandbar, had broken free from its moorings. As Brady and his friends approached they saw another boat had already arrived, and its owner was attempting to rescue three people trapped in the houseboat.

That rescuer, later identified as Boyd Jordan, jumped in the water, smashed the window, and helped all three people out after the houseboat capsized.

“He is the true hero of this story,” Brady told WJHG. “Without hesitation, he was just in the water helping those people.”

That’s when Brady and his friends arrived dodging debris and waves to throw a life jacket to Jordan with a line attached to it; the houseboat’s occupants were already wearing life jackets.

Hauling Jordan aboard their already overcrowded fishing boat, they then guided the stranded individuals to the sandbar where they were able to walk ashore. Brady then took Jordan his own boat before it crashed into the seawall.

So, what is China doing in Cuba? Are these actions routine, or might China be planning something larger? Something that might pose a significant national security threat to America?

The spy base at Lourdes on the north coast of Cuba, 93 miles south of Key West, has a long history. It operated for 40 years, from 1962 until 2002 when the nearly bankrupt Russian Federation could no longer afford to pay Cuba the $200 million a year in rent, nor keep the more than 1,500 intelligence specialists on the island.

The Wall Street Journalreports that the two biggest producers of the product they prefer to call "finely textured beef" have mostly bounced back after sales bottomed out in 2012 amid a flurry of negative media reports. "Two years ago, no one would return our calls," says an exec with Beef Products Inc. "Now some of those same people are calling us unsolicited, and we don't have the sales staff to maintain the new business." And a spokesman for Cargill says, "We're almost recovered from it." A big reason is that ground beef prices have risen 27% in the last two years to about $3.80 a pound.

Satan goes to the Ivy League: Harvard’s “Black Mass” and Demonic Action

The announcement of a reenactment of a “Black Mass” at Harvard University in the name of “culture” and “freedom of expression” caused enormous revulsion, not only among Catholics but in all those with common sense.

This reaction – encouraged by TFP Student Action and the America Needs Fatima organization, among others ─ gave rise to prayers and demonstrations around the country. There was even a solemn procession with the Blessed Sacrament in the streets near Harvard, followed by Eucharistic adoration at St. Paul’s Church in Harvard Square. As a result, the sacrilegious act was cancelled.

Obviously, the “Black Mass” reenactment at Harvard would attract devils not only to that university but also to the whole nation and mark a new step toward the abyss in the moral vortex in which we find ourselves.

“Deconstructing” Civilization
How can an establishment meant to teach and form the character of young people do such a thing? How could they have consented to receive representatives of the New York-based Satanic Temple to do the said “reenactment?”

There are many reasons that can explain why this happened. First of all, there is the generalized decadence of Western civilization caused by the abandonment of our Christian roots. However, we might also cite the rejection of reason as a cause, since there are all sorts of counter-philosophies now in vogue, such as “deconstructionism,” which deny the traditional concepts of logic and reason. This rejection prepares the way for the action of the devil.

Poll: Nearly Half Of Unemployed Have Stopped Looking For Work

A poll released Wednesday shows that 47 percent of unemployed Americans have given up looking for work.

Conducted on behalf of Express Employment Professionals last month, Harris Poll asked 1,500 unemployed adults whether they agreed with the statement “I’ve completely given up looking for a job.”

Seven percent said they “agree completely” with the statement; another seven percent said they “agree a lot”; 15 percent “agree somewhat”; 18 percent “agree a little”.

Eighty-two percent of those polled agreed that they were “becoming more discouraged the longer I am unemployed”.

A large majority of those polled indicated that unemployment benefits were keeping them from searching harder for a job. Politicians have divided largely along party lines over whether to extend unemployment benefits, with Republicans arguing that the benefits provide an incentive to remain unemployed

The IRS said Thursday it will go back and rewrite the proposed rules governing nonprofit groups and political activity, bowing to overwhelming opposition from tea party groups and free speech advocates on both ends of the ideological spectrum who feared the tax agency would hurt political debate.

In a statement, the IRS said it still intends to update its rules but will put off a hearing until after it issues a new version — and gave no timetable for moving ahead.

Conservatives hailed the move as a victory, saying that issuing a new version of the rule before the hearing is tantamount to starting over. Meanwhile, Democrats on Capitol Hill said the move was a setback for their efforts to try to push wealthy donors to the periphery of political debate.

But it’s Jim Caviezel‘s steadfast faith and pro-life views that have endeared him to millions of people worldwide. And not only is Jim strongly pro-life on abortion. He puts those views into action — making good on his pro-life convictions by adopting two disabled children.

Bo was abandoned on a train in China soon after he was born. He was raised in an orphanage until he was five years old and told that he never had a mommy – he came from dirt. A large, visible brain tumor threatened his young life and took away any real hope of love or family.

A challenge from a friend led Jim Caviezel, the actor best known for portraying Jesus in The Passion of the Christ and currently starring in the CBS crime drama Person of Interest, into Bo’s life. In an interview with the Christophers, a Christian media organization, Caviezel said, “This guy I know said, ‘You’re pro-life. Tell you what, if you really believe in what you speak, adopt a child — not any child, he’s got to have a serious deficiency.’” Caviezel was “completely terrified” at the possibility of adopting a child with a disability, but deep within his soul, he knew that God wanted him to do it.

When Caviezel first met Bo in that Chinese orphanage, he knew that adopting Bo would mean a life of doctors and surgeries and worry and heartbreak. But, in an interview for Catholic Digest, Caviezel said, “I saw his eyes and — this sounds like such sentimental hogwash, but I’m telling you the truth — in my heart I heard this boy calling to me, saying, ‘Will you love me?’”

Later, Caviezel and his wife, Kerri, decided to adopt another child, a healthy newborn girl. However, before the adoption took place, they met a five year-old girl – also with a brain tumor. “The couple stated that they knew the healthy baby would find a good home,” reports Catholic News Agency, “however it was likely that the sick girl would not. They decided to adopt the five year-old and have been blessed ever since.”

Caviezel told Catholic Digest that he has become a new man since adopting his children. “Dennis Quaid told me a long time ago when he had his son Jack, ‘You’ll have emotions in you that you didn’t even know existed before you had a child,’” Caviezel said. “I now know what that feels like. Even though they’re adopted, it’s as strong as any instinct. That’s what blew me away. I always thought if I adopted that I wouldn’t have the same feeling [as I would] if they were genetically my own children. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

Both Bo and his sister LeLe have required several surgeries, and Bo’s cancerous tumor has been particularly challenging, but Caviezel and his wife have felt blessed by their family above everything else. “The other day my little girl jumped in my lap, put her hand on my face, and whispered in my ear, ‘Papa, I love you so much,’” Caviezel told Catholic Digest. “It pulls on your heartstrings. When you come home and the kids run to you, come up and grab your leg. We have a little thing. They stand on my feet and I walk them into the kitchen and we just laugh.”

In seeking to actively live out his faith, Caviezel has seen his life fulfilled more than he ever thought was possible. “We took the harder road,” the actor said in a Catholic.org article. “That is what faith is to me; it’s action. It’s the Samaritan. It’s not the one who says he is; it’s the one who does – and does without bringing attention to himself. I’m saying this because I want to encourage other people.”

When Bo, now 13, won All Star of the Month at the Victory Gymnastics Academy in March 2011, he said his future goals include being “a policeman, a fireman, and, of course, a Dad.” He said he enjoys playing the piano, traveling to different countries with his family, and “putting things together.” He lives with his “Mom, Dad, and sister, LeLe, who is a ballerina.”

Dem Congressman: ‘We’ve Proved That Communism Works’

Democratic Florida Rep. Joe Garcia — fresh off being caught eating his own earwax on camera — was caught red-handed (or is it yellow-fingered?) in another gaffe this week, claiming that low crime rates in border cities with lots of federal immigration workers is proof that “Communism works.”

Garcia made the comment during a Google hangout he convened last week to talk about comprehensive immigration reform with supporters. The Democrat attempted to point out how, for all their talk about limited government, many Republicans are fine spending loads of government money on border security.

“Let me give you an example, the kind of money we’ve poured in,” he said. “So the most dangerous — sorry, the safest city in America is El Paso, Texas. It happens to be across the border from the most dangerous city in the Americas, which is Juarez. Right?”

“And two of the safest cities in America, two of them are on the border with Mexico,” Garcia continued. “And of course, the reason is we’ve proved that Communism works. If you give everybody a good government job, there’s no crime.”

“But that isn’t what we should be doing on the border,” he continued. “The kind of money we’ve poured into it, and we’re having diminishing returns.”

The video was uploaded to YouTube by the America Rising PAC, a Republican PAC founded in 2013 and dedicated to opposition research. It’s also the same group that originally uploaded Garcia’s earwax snafu.

Garcia, who is of Cuban descent along with many of his south Florida constituents, told the Miami Herald he never meant to espouse Communism — and was instead taking a tongue-in-cheek shot at his GOP opponents.

“This is an absurdity, accusing the son of Cuban immigrants of believing in Communism is just ridiculous,” he declared.

China has been quietly taking steps to encircle the United States by arming western hemisphere states, seeking closer military, economic, and diplomatic ties to U.S. neighbors, and sailing warships into U.S. maritime zones.
The strategy is a Chinese version of what Beijing has charged is a U.S. strategy designed to encircle and “contain” China. It is also directed at countering the Obama administration’s new strategy called the pivot to Asia. The pivot calls for closer economic, diplomatic, and military ties to Asian states that are increasingly concerned about Chinese encroachment throughout that region.

U.S. officials said there are growing fears that some type of military confrontation could break out between China and Japan over the disputed islands that are said to contain large underwater gas and oil reserves.
North of the U.S. border, Canada this week concluded a military cooperation agreement with China during the visit to Beijing by Canadian Defense Minister Peter G. Mackay. The agreement calls for closer cooperation between the two militaries, including bilateral military exchanges.

“It has cultivated far better military relations with the openly anti-American regimes in the region and could become a sort of political-economic godfather to ensure the survival of the Castro dictatorship system in Cuba,” said Fisher, with the International Assessment and Strategy Center.

In short, don't let him get away with it and demand more answers! Freedom loving Americans are at risk from the “Let's tone it down” and “Give the President the benefit of the doubt” type RINOs who would gladly appease the Left for their own benefit. Their rhetoric would allow for what is called plausible deniability. This is just another phrase that means there is enough chaos and confusion to give a lie a chance to work.

Political reality is another thing altogether. We have all the evidence we need to accept the premise that Barack Obama created the culture that lead to the behaviors that brought forth the scandals. It was also Barack Obama whom we know promoted the “It was a video” instead of a terror plot story regarding the Benghazi tragedy weeks after it was known otherwise. Because he refuses to disclose what leadership he practiced that night, we are fully justified in concluding there was none.

It was Barack Obama who regularly snubbed Israel. The leaks regarding that country came at times most beneficial for Obama's political ratings or at times a distraction from other issues was needed. The nation of Israel has come to the same conclusion. It is now policy that when Israel defends itself, it will no longer inform the United States in advance. Barack Obama is clearly an influence upon the ease of leaks and thus the new strain in US-Israeli relations.

It was clearly Barack Obama's move to cover for Eric Holder despite being in contempt of Congress over the Fast and Furious scandal. Nothing was ever said about the mysterious dropping of the case of voter intimidation by The New Black Panthers by the Attorney General. The behavior was repeated when the President again supported Holder despite the clearly misleading (perhaps perjured) statements made regarding the justice Department's spy ring aimed at journalists. Obama has been known to bully journalists whom he was displeased with in the past as well. Again, he created that culture.

The greatest mistake at this time would be to appease the Left and go along with their plans to crisis manage these issues away. Americans who want to fight for freedom must drop all the PC language and state the obvious conclusion:

The IRS took orders from Barack Obama. Lois Lerner was promoted during her time there for a job well-done. Even if his orders were not direct, and therefore plausibly deniable, the culture created an indirect set of priorities that led to the abuse of people clearly known to occupy the President's enemies list.

Barack Obama is clearly backing the moves made by Eric Holder. He has never demanded that his Attorney General fully cooperate with Congress. After condemning the way reporters were infringed upon, Obama has had nothing to say about Holder seeking the warrants.

Barack Obama uses executive orders to get his way. However, upon hearing of the scandals he has not used this power to restore American's privacy and equal justice in dealing with the Federal Government. He clearly wants to let this situation blow over and allow the powers of a huge and intrusive federal government to continue for his purposes.

There is no evidence of effective leadership from the President on the night of 9/11/12 when our people in Benghazi where under attack. There is evidence that decisions COULD have been made to save lives that night. Nothing was done. Americans can compare this lack of decisiveness to the many days Barack Obama took to step-up during the Gulf Oil Spill disaster early in his first term. Americans must accept that the efforts to shift blame have failed. We must also continue to demand all the answers that have been withheld. We also know there were 30 survivors who have not been made available. America has a right to hear from them, no excuses any more.

It cannot be stressed enough, we cannot allow the castrated cuddle-bugs in the GOP to place nice with the not so nice Left. If we do, justice will not be done. However, if united, we continue to stand, maybe there will be a more responsive Congress and less dangerous IRS.

Our government, our schools and many other institutions have been infiltrated with persons of this mindset. They have no problem with more government power, even to the point of giving the Constitution of the United States and expiration date. The Boston situation takes us back to Colonial times in a way. Little is mentioned of the 3rd Amendment of the Bill of Rights. It states, "No soldier shall, in times of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a matter to be prescribed by law." It was the Obama administration itself that declared the 'War on Terror' to be over. Therefore, in a time of peace, how can homeowners be so violated? This little known amendment was insisted upon because of the grave abuses of soldiers in private homes. Families were abused, robbed, raped and sometimes killed in the name of military activity.Our founders said "No more of this." Are we to take their warning lightly?

for their faith. Since that time, the problem of double standards and anti-Christian bias has increased. In the Age of Obama it has gotten worse.
