“My Love My Family” on top of the TV charts

Guess which drama hits it big in Korea as of late?
Yes, you guessed it, the weekend drama, “My Love My Family!”

After the airing of Episode 42 on May 22^nd, the ratings shot up significantly higher because of a shocking proposal between Myung Hee and Chul soo (played by Han Chae Ah and Jo Jin Woong).

In that particular episode, it resulted in a surprising acceptance of a proposal of Myung Hee and Chul Soo. While Myung Hee runs home to tell the good news to his household, Yoon Hee suddenly seeks out Woo Jin out of jealousy.

This episode sparked the increase of the ratings and even topped the popular MBC and SBS programs, like “Twinkle Twinkle” and “My Love By My Side”

The Drunken Kiss on "Romance Town"

A certain “drunken kiss” has caught the attention of “Romance Town” fans!

This is certainly not the first kiss shared between Gun Woo and Soon Geum.
Gun Woo kissed Soon Geum to stop her from telling her father about her winning the lottery.

Soon Geum cannot stand his father’s addiction to gambling, so she wants to blurt out about her winning lottery ticket worth 10 billion won.
Gun Woo interfered with the kiss before Soon Geum could tell her father. He did felt guilty keeping her as a maid with that money.

Is this the only reason Gun Woo interfered this way, or is there another reason why?

Romance Town [Featured Drama]

Sun Geum comes from a family generation of maids, including her mother and grandmother. Her mother worked hard her whole life to raise funds for Sun Geum to go to college one day.
Sun Geum only wants to go down the road of labor, in order to get quick cash, but is also sick of living a poor life and searching for a stable one. But settling on working as a maid, her life is about to turn around..

She tries to cope with her sorrow and loneliness by joining a meeting called 'Six Parted Garlic' and shares her joys and sorrows with the other maids. She also copes by way of reading letters to the ex-maid, Yoo Chunjak, from the son of the owner, Gang Geonwoo, who studies in NY. It's the Saturday when Geonwoo finally returns. Sungeum comes back from a convenience store after buying a 5000 won lottery ticket and is then fired by Geonwoo who wants grandma chunjack back. Being kicked out of the townhouse, she shoves her hands into her coat pocket and finds the lottery ticket she bought previously. Much to her surprise, she discovers she won the 10,000,000,000 won lottery!

T-ARA’s Eunjung Expands Acting Talents to the Horror Film, “White”

You may remember her as Baek Hee from “Dream High,” but Eunjung also stars in the MBC Entertainment show, “We Got Married” and originally a singer/rapper in Korea’s popular girl group, “T-ara.” She is at an all-time high in her career right now, but she’s reaching for more!

Eunjung is going to star in the highly-anticipated horror film “White.” The film “White” is unsurprisingly about a Korean girl pop group singing a Hit song called “White!” The girls in the movie find out that singing that one 15-year-old song will actually lead the girls into a cursing, chilling, and horrifying experience.
Eunjung also claims that the film is a message that covers controversial news of Korean singer idols of today: the competition of beauty, stars being assaulted by managers, and stars being sold for sponsorship.

She expresses that there are no limits to what kind of acting she wants to attempt; she wants to try all genres of movies. Eunjung always had a passion to be an actress because she majored acting in college.

The Way Home [Featured Movie]

Typically in the fashion world, the demand for younger and newer designers is in high demand. Soyoung is a 33-year-old aspiring designer with a baby face, so she hides her age and identity to fit in the designer world. Will she succeed?

Thirty three year old spinster, Soyoung, has an unbelievably young looking face! Most girls who are 33, they are either married or very successful in their field. She, wanted to be a world famous designer, applied for the nation’s top reputed design school and got accepted. However, because of some complicated family matters, she has to give up on her dream school. Instead, she goes to a textile institute and graduate there at the top of her class. Moreover, her dexterity allows her to make simple clothes for herself. When economy worsened, she gets fired from a company she worked at for 13 years because of her age. Soyoung lies about her age to get a job at the top textile company! There, she meets Choi Jinwook who finds older women unattractive. The old ladies then go to the bank to wire their money, but at that moment the bank is held up by robbers. They lose their savings and the bank can't offer any assistance. It is at this moment that the grandmothers set off track the robbers down themselves. Using their guile and wisdom the grandmothers are able to track one of the thieves down named Joon-Suk (Lim Chang Jung). Unfortunately, Joon-Suk was swindled by his gang and is now completely broke. The old ladies are not willing to give up their dream vacation. They then make Joon-Suk train them in the art of bank robbing and the old ladies then set out to rob banks themselves.

Upon his arrival, the female chefs are fired one by one and Yoo-gyeong finds herself to be the last woman standing. Just before she's about to be fired, Kim San, the restaurant owner appears. Kim San hires his girlfriend and celebrity chef Sae-young as a co-head chef to work with Hyun-wook. It turns out that Sae-young and Hyun-wook used to date each other when they were both studying at the Italian culinary school. But they broke up after Sae-young stole his recipe to win a cooking contest. They turn into rivals and try to outdo each other in making the finest Italian cuisine. Working alongside two celebrity chefs, Yoo-gyeong feels small and insignificant. She gradually develops feelings for the charismatic Hyun-wook. However, restaurant owner Kim San begins to become attracted to the spunky Yoo-gyeong and the relationships between them become fraught with complexities.

2NE1 Music Video "Lonely"

2NE1 is infamous for their use of electronic sounds and exciting dance music, but the girls are gearing toward something much more soulful and acoustic in their new song “Lonely.” Each of the girls had their chance to sing a solo verse with a lot of emotion!

The song “Lonely” and the producer Teddy, gave the girls a chance to express their talents through pure acoustic vocals. The music video first aired on May 11, 2011.

2NE1 plans to promote many songs in their new mini album and expand their tour to Japan in September.

Girls Generation Interviewed by Children for “Children’s Day”

May 5th in Korea is Children’s Day, a holiday that honors children and a whole day to focus on spending time with children! Girls Generation (also known as 소녀시대) spent time to publically answer video interview questions directly from elementary school children.

The girls were happy to answer any questions they had, from “How can I grow long hair like you?” to “Do you startle and shake on stage?” and “Why do you always cry when you win an award for your music?” The girls from Girls Generation happily and playfully answered to the questions of their youngest fans.

They even asked the tougher question, “Who do you like better, SHINee or Super Junior?” Children are known to be the harshest critics, but the girls were willing to use their answers to guide and to encourage the children.

T-ARA Music Video Teaser Released for “Song for you”

T-ARA released a small music video teaser from their new digital sing “Song for you.” In the teaser, Soyeon of T-ARA sings a solo with the famous music composer Ahn Young Min.

Ahn Young Min is praised for his talents in composing melodic, classical ballads in the K-POP genre. As the K-POP genre tends to trend toward music that incorporates electronic, fast, and high-tempo beats.

T-ARA’s musical single, “Song for you,” released on April 28th. T-ARA is also known for contributing to the soundtracks of great MVIBO dramas, such as “Jungle Fish 2,” “Master of Study,” and the movie “Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp.”

Park Bom from 2NE1’s New Solo Single “Don’t Cry”

After 2NE1’s Park Bom made a lead singer appearance on the song “You and I,” Park Bom recently came out with another top-charter song “Don’t Cry.” The response from fans was overwhelming. In that week, “Don’t Cry” topped Big Bang’s “Love Song” and F(X)’s newly released “Pinnochio.”

Due to the high response from the K-POP charts and fans, YG Entertainment’s blog, YG LIFE asked fans if they wanted to hear Park Bom’s new single “Don’t Cry” live!

A Shocking Murder Increases Ratings in KBS’ “Detectives in Trouble”

Viewers were shocked to see how realistically similar the scenes of KBS’ “Detectives in Trouble” were to the real crime stories that appear on the news. Because of the realistic scenes and incidents in the drama, Korea’s drama rating research group claimed that “Detectives in Trouble” raised its ratings by 10% within the week of the newest episode.

In the recent episode, the females of the police department and the office were murdered. That particular scene went beyond of what people would consider a typical thriller drama, as the scenes reminded one of a real movie crime scene.

The directors and writers claim that these scenes are absolutely essential to find out who is the suspect of the murder.

How will these murder scenes contribute to finding the real mystery?

Hyun Bin Won First Place for ‘Favorite Actor’

In a research that included the participation of 1321 males and females, they were asked the question, “Who is your favorite actor and actress?” The top actor was no other than Secret Garden’s Hyun Bin (who played the character Kim Joo Won). The survey asked the participants’ thoughts of the actor’s overall acting, appearance, and presence.

Hyun Bin from “Secret Garden” won 30.6% of the votes, followed by Won Bin at 20.6%, Jang Dong Gun at 14%, So Ji Sub at 6.9%, and Jeong Woo Seong at 5.9%.

Even though all the nominees for the actors and actresses all hold great potential to be rated No. 1, it was clear to see that no other than Secret Garden’s Hyun Bin won the survey as favorite actor.

New Music Video: Big Bang- Love Song

Big Bang’s song “Love Song” holds a different style than the other songs from Big Bang’s album. The song sets a melodramatic tone and contains slight sadness in the lyrics, yet the song is surprisingly upbeat and is far from slow.

“Love Song” is the second song released off their mini-album. YG Entertainment released this song and kept Big Bang fans curiously anticipating the whole song by releasing small clips of verses. A different verse was sung by each individual member. As the teaser of lyrics flowed out to the public and its fans, YG-Life Blog released the whole lyrics then the song.

With the music video first released on YouTube, the music video has been categorized on the homepage as “#1 Top Favorite this Week” and “#1 Top Rated” internationally.

“The Case of Itaewon Homicide” [Featured Movie]

A classic murder mystery with a twist, and based on a true story.

Based on an unsolved murder case at a hamburger chain in Seoul’s multicultural Itaewon district of 1997, “The Case of Itaewon Homicide” opens with a graphically brutal scene in which an innocent college student is stabbed to death by a stranger.

Two Korean-American teenagers, Pearson (played by Jang Geun-seok) and Alex (played by Sin Seung-hwan), are the prime suspects in custody, and each blames the other for the horrific crime.

The suspects throw contradictory evidence at investigators, creating confusion about what actually happened, leaving prosecutor Park (played by Jeong Jin-yeong) to try to figure out the truth.

“Castaway on the Moon” [Featured Movie]

“New Tales of a Gisaeng” [Featured Drama]

Wouldn’t you think it doesn’t get any better than living the luxurious life in beauty and art?

The new drama, “New Tales of a Gisaeng” sheds another color of love, sadness, and pain that surround the Gisaeng house. The Gisaeng house is very exclusive and caters to only the rich.

Dan Sa Ran (played by Im Soo Hyang) is a professional classical dancer and was taught through college. Sa Ran doesn’t have a mother, but only a step-mother and her real father. She maintains a relationship with her family, but focuses on her friends who come from rich families. She is chosen to be a Gisaeng because of her beauty and grace.

She falls in love with Ah Da Mo (played by Sung Hoon) but doesn’t tell him because she’s not of the upper class. Da Mo is initially selfish and arrogant, but questions his attitude once he gets closer to Sa Ran.

Namolla Family and Lashi collaborated to perform the song “Separated Couple.” It’s a tearful and emotional song about the complexities of a break up. Before the release of their music video, the song was released as a digital single from Namolla Family.

A heart-warming story about a free-spirited and rebellious girl named Aeja Park (played by Choi Kang Hee), who is an aspiring novelist. Aeja’s rebellious spirit simply makes her do whatever she wishes.

Aeja remains confident and proud of herself, except when she acts in front of her mother. After she turned 29, she finds herself in a lot of debt and her boyfriend is also cheating on her. Aeja still resumes to play vulgar jokes and to do what she wishes, resulting in her to run away one day. That night while away and asleep, she woke up from a phone call saying that her mother has collapsed.

“Le Grand Chef” [Featured Movie]

A movie about the precision and skill surrounds a knife that is essential for the chefs in the movie “Le Grand Chef.” At a press conference, a cooking knife of a special spirit is presented to the public. The knife belonged to the last Korean royal chef of the Chosun Dynasty who cut his own arms to show his loyalty to the king. The Japanese bureaucrat was especially moved by the story behind the knife and kept it. The son of the royal chef came to Korea and wants to return the precious knife to someone who deserves to own it. The match for the historical knife has begun.

The New Family Drama “Smile, Mom”

The family drama “Smile Mom” covers the hardships and trials mothers have to go through in an everyday family lifestyle. The drama reveals the three stories of different mothers and their own families.

Jo Bok Hee (played by Lee Mi-Sook) is a mother who puts a lot of pressure on her first daughter. Although she works to have all of her children succeed, she particularly pushes her daughter to become a broadcast journalist.

Park Soon Ja (played by Park Won Suk) is under her husband’s shadow. She took care of her father and mother-in-law while living with him and she even writes his speeches on his behalf.

Yoon Min Joo (played by Ji Su Won) was betrayed and dumped by her husband, leaving her behind with her two children. She seeks revenge on her husband amidst all the trouble she encounters.

Lee So Yeon Joins the Cast of “Smile Again”

You may recognize Lee So Yeon from the popular SBS weekend drama “Nice to Meet You” and the MBC drama “Dong Yi.” We’re excited to hear that Lee So Yeon will debut on the set of KBS “Smile Again” starting May of 2011.

Lee So Yeon’s character on “Smile Again” will be of a single mother raising a child. The drama is written by the same writer of “Love you a Thousand Times,” Kim Sa Kyeong and directed by the director of “Come Back, Soo Ae,” Han Jeong Hwan.

The producers and the cast of the drama actually filmed sets of “Paradise Island” on Jeju Island and Australia. Seventy percent of the drama was filmed on Jeju Island.

Real Detectives Approve of Song Il Gook’s acting in “Detective in Trouble”

Song Il Gook, who plays Park Sae Hyuk in “Detectives in Trouble,” was worried about not looking like a real detective on scene of the crime drama. In an interview, he said that he was relieved and pleased to hear that his acting is perceived as realistic to his fans and viewers.

In the drama, Park Sae Hyuk grew up having the knowledge of criminal techniques because his father was a legendary thief. He closes all the tough cases that are hard to solve with his own ways and therefore, he is second to none in arrest rate ranks. A special team has been assembled for an operation to arrest a notorious bank burglar. They don’t get along well at the beginning but as they continue resolving case after case, they gradually learn to work as a team.

Intern reporter, Min Joo, intertwined with Sae Hyuk who is also chasing after the same suspect. Meanwhile, Sae Hyuk, who has been looking for his father his whole life, suddenly and unexpectedly discovers his father's whereabouts. Moreover, Sae Hyuk's older brother, Sae Joong is a crooked detective and Sae Hyuk must confront them both..

The New Medical Thriller, ‘Sign’

Movie director Jang Hoon-joon took a shot at developing the medical thriller drama, “Sign,” based on the National Forensic Service (NFS), as his intentions were for viewers to be in suspense within each episode. The movie-like drama is broken down to 16 thrilling episodes.

All the actors prepared for their roles. Specifically actor Park Shin-yang who plays Yun Ji-hun explained at a press conference that he prepared for the drama by seeing a lot of dead bodies for two months. He also went so far to assist in conducting an autopsy on a dead body.

The drama circles the secret behind the NFS. There is a great mystery surrounding the autopsy doctors, the crime scenes, and the investigation laboratory. These team of doctors will plan on solving the mystery and find out the hidden truth.

“Highway Star”is a comedy movie about an aspiring rock singer starringCha Tae-hyeon, Im Chae-moo, Lee So-yeon, and Jeong-seok Yong.

This country singer’s passion for rock music is mysteriously performed behind a mask, leaving his fans wondering about who the talented artist really is. The 2007 movie “Highway Star” is filled with a comedic, yet touching story line and unforgettable music.

About “Highway Star:”
Dal-ho (played by Cha Tae-hyeon) is an aspiring rock singer and wants to become a famous rock star one day. In the meanwhile, Dal-ho makes a small living, performing at small gigs at clubs and is only encouraged to perform Enka (country music).

Six years later, the two are both deserted by the competing agencies and they meet. To get a chance to steal information about the two sides, the two men decide to work among each other.

“‘Smile Again’ and ‘My Love My Family’ Starts Off the Lunar New Year”

The start of the Lunar New Year (“Seolnal” in Korean), expects a huge celebration for families to gather in homes. None other than KBS’ “Smile Again” ranked No. 1 on New Year’s Day in South Korea, according to AGB Nielsen Media Research. The study observed the dates of February 2 to February 5, 2011.

“Smile Again” ranked No. 1 in the “drama” category of the list by leading a record 26.3% in viewership ratings. Another KBS weekend drama, “My Love My Family” directly followed as No. 2 on the charts, also in the drama category.

“South Korean Fans Able Watch Dream High’s Last Episode with Sam Dong and Hye Mi”

Hye Mi (Suzy) and Sam Dong (Kim Soo Hyun) will be joining fans to watch the last episode of the drama together at Ilsan’s CGV on the big screen on February 28^th, 2011. KBS 2TV is hosting this open event for South Korean “Dream High” fans and supporters. As “Dream High” is expected to air its final episode at the end of this February, the drama has received nothing but praise and success.

“SHINee’s Onew Reveals ‘Special Talent’ on Happy Together”

Onew, a member of the group SHINee, revealed a rare, yet hilarious talent on “Happy Together.” He claims to be great at “Ddak Bam” which is the act of catapulting your finger back to snap your finger forward on someone’s forehead. Although it may not seem like a “talent,” SHINee shows strength in his single finger to break a walnut shell and almost cracking a gourd!

KBS’ Entertainment show “Happy Together” brings out all different sides of guest celebrities. The episode brought guests of the popular boy band Dong Bang Shin Ki, the girl group F(X), and the boys from SHINee.

“Jungle Fish 2: The Movie”

On March 3, 2011, the KBS teen hit drama “Jungle Fish 2” series will be digitally remastered and edited for the big screen. The 8-episode mini-series will be remade as “theatre edit” for theatres everywhere in South Korea.

Drama Synopsis:
“Jungle Fish 2” reflects the most realistic truth of teen’s life at school in Korea. It reveals what is really happening in Korean society. Teen’s school life is not cute and innocent anymore, instead, it has become more like wildlife in the Jungle now. Hyo-an, Ga-hwa high school’s most talented student, jumps from a 5 story building and dies. Hyo-an’s boyfriend, Ho-su, who broke up with her the day before she commits suicide, wants to know the reason behind the suicide. In the meantime, a mean rumor about Hyo-an spreads all over the internet through SNS and mobile SNS applications. Hyo-an’s five elementary school friends-Yool, Ho-su, Bau, Irai, Gongzi, Tae-rang-investigate her mysterious death and at the end, they face unbearable truth.

“Lunar New Year Special Screening for Los Angeles!”

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, KBS America will have a special screening of the drama, “Becoming a Popular Song”- 유행가가 되리(2005) in Los Angeles. This drama won the Magnolia Award for “Best Screenplay” at the 11^th Annual Shanghai TV Festival.

Soo-geun and Seuk-young have been married to each other for years, with expectations to to grow old happily with one another. Instead, Soo-geun is lonely and depressed that his job term will be ending shortly. Seuk-young feels ashamed that her husband is stubborn and old-fashion. Pilsook (played by IU) not only wants a particular image to match her voice, but really wants to lose weight to impress Jason (played by Wooyoung). After finally unveiling her true feelings to Jason, she gets turned down by him. Pilsook asked Jason if he would reconsider if she lost weight and got prettier. Jason hesitantly replied, “Yes.” Jason does not particularly prefer her if she was thinner, but realized it would be better for her future career as a singer.

Pilsook goes through a rigorous diet of eating healthy and strenuous exercise to make sure it happens.

“'Dream High' Actress IU Plans Perform at KBS Winter Concert”

Actress and singer IU, who plays Pil-sook in “Dream High” is planned to sing at the 2011 KBS Youth Orchestra Winter Concert, held on January 28, 2011. She plans to perform her songs from the “Dream High” soundtrack, “Some Day” and “Good Day.”

IU is already an accomplished musical performer and plays a large role in “Dream High.” Many speculate that IU is ready to step out of her KPOP genre boundaries and venture out to experience Korean traditional and classical music.

The KBS Winter Concert consists of popular and traditional music, which intends to encourage youth and young adults the importance of music.

“‘KBS Drama Special’ Mini Series Extends a Three-Part Drama”

As most episodes of “KBS Drama Special” are mini-series where a short drama plays in the span of a single episode, the last 3 episodes were continuations of the Mini drama “Special Task Force MMS.”

The 3-episode drama series is about a detective who hits rock bottom, but tries to redeem himself by catching a serial killer who has been causing distress and mayhem. The criminals are not the only troublesome ones, but all the police stations in Korea create problems for the investigations

The drama stars: Oh Man-seok, Son Hyeon-joo, and Yoon Hae-Yeong
The episodes for the three-part “Special Task Force MMS” are 29, 30, and 31.

“KPOP Sensation Girl Group ‘Miss A’ Visits the set of ‘Dream High’”

The members of Miss A, a popular KPOP group in South Korea, came to the set of “Dream High” to support Suzy (who plays Hye-mi) and the cast. Suzy is actually the youngest member of the group Miss A.

The KBS drama “Dream High” reached #1 at the airing of the 6^th episode, so the girls of Miss A came to congratulate and wish the best for Suzy, as well as the rest of the cast members.

“New Weekend Family Drama ‘My Love My Family’”

The new KBS weekend drama “My Love My Family,” ‘사랑을믿어요’ first premiered on January 1^st of 2011. The drama stars Song Jae-ho, Seon-woo Yong-nyeo, Lee Jae-ryong, and Park Joo-mi.

“My Love My Family” is not only a fun family drama, but raises important questions about family and marriage values. With the rate of divorce continuously raising, is it worth sustaining or starting a family? How does one find time for joy and love in everyday family turmoil?

Official Drama Synopsis:

Two strangers meet, fall in love and get married. After they have settled into married life, however, they face numerous marriage problems. Couples start to wonder why they even get married in the first place and think about divorce lamenting “I didn’t get married to live like this!’ But soon they realize their parents managed to keep their marriage for 40, 50 years. Why are the marriages among younger generations more susceptible to breaking apart? Are we too smart? Are we impatient? Or is it the way it should be in the modern society? Tons of married couples visit family courts to break their vows, while numerous young people go on a date to find the perfect soul mate. People divorce at such a high rate nowadays and some think the idea of marriage is dead. However, many people still get married because they believe in the tradition. In this drama, high school vice president Kim and his 4 children each struggle to resolve their marriage problems and at the end they learn how to save their marriages.

“Competition Heats Up in School on ‘Dream High’”

The drama starts to differentiate the characters of the music students in “Dream High,” particularly the bad ones.

In the most recent episode, Baek-hee (Musical star Eunjung from T-ara) fuels a fight with Hye-mi in the bathroom. Baek-hee questions Hye-mi of why she is still here at this school and predicts she would be “kicked out eventually.”

After a short feud between the two, Baek-hee hits Hye-mi as both start fighting. The school administrators and students see the fight and rush over to stop them. Baek-hee, who actually started the fight, pretends to faint.

Dream High producers explain Behind-the-drama at Press Conference

The “Dream High” press conference took place on December 27^th, at Korea’s Kintex Center.

Producers of “Dream High,” Hallyu Actor Bae Yong Joon and CEO of JYP Entertainment Park Jin Young, explained the aspects and the idea behind the drama “Dream High.”

Bae Yong Joon revealed that he has always had a passion for youth education, particularly for those who inspire to be artists and entertainers.

Park Jin Young explained his side, of how his knowledge and experience in the music industry can be applied to the drama. Not only will the cast perform dance and songs that are up to par with today’s pop culture, but plans to exceed and to top it all with the reality of hard work.

The Finale of “All About Marriage” Topped Charts

We bid a successful adieu to “All About Marriage" stars Kim Ji-Young (who played Jung-Im) and Lee Jong-hyu (who played Tae-ho).

KBS “All About Marriage” finally ended after it continually topped Korea television charts, week after week. “All About Marriage” extended its episodes because the overwhelming response from fans who wanted more of this family drama.

TNS Media: Korea reported that “All About Marriage” always stayed at the top throughout the whole series, and continuously No. 1 during its extended episodes. KBS “Happy Sunday” followed the hit series right below, on the television charts.

“All About Marriage” had an amazing complete run of more than six months!

KBS New Highly Anticipated "Dream High"

KBS “Dream High” is a High School drama, where the cast auditions was hosted by the famous Bae Yong Joon and well-known producer Park Jin Young.

Synopsis of “Dream High:”

Girin Arts High School is a prestigious school that trains students to dance and sing. The director and four fellow teachers operate the school, who are strict teachers who never overlook students who neglect practicing. These talented, strict teachers have produced many who are now stars and now they are waiting for new students to cultivate. This year, a group of special kids enter into the school. Song Sam-Dong lives in the country side and dreams of becoming an owner of a stock farm. However, after he falls in love with Go Hye-Mi at first sight, he follows her to Girin Arts High School. There, he discovers his musical talent and strives to become a world-class singer. Jin-Gook is a gifted dancer, but is troublesome. He has grown up rebelling against authority but the director sees the potential in him and encourages Jin-Gook to enroll in the school. There, Jin-Gook's talents blossom and he is now eager to become a global star. Go Hye-mi is the most popular girl at Girin Arts High School who wants to be a world renowned soprano. She seems like a confident girl but hides pain and sadness behind her smile, as her family falls into debt. She is loved by both Jin-gook and Sam-dong. Students, with all different charms and personalities, meet at Girin Arts High School, where they slowly pour their hearts out to each other, and become friends, or for some of them, lovers. Follow the lives of these students who struggle to become a world star at “Dream High”

"'Bread, Love and Dreams' wins at The Korean Culture Entertainment Awards"

The KBS Drama “Bread, Love and Dreams” won “Best Drama” in The 18th Korean Culture Entertainment Awards. As well as winning the award, the Entertainment Awards also recognized Producer Jung-seop Lee and Eun-jin Lee as the crew took home the “Best Drama Producer” award of 2010.

The Awards ceremony took place on December 15, 2010 at the Seoul International Convention Hall.

It’s not a surprise that they won this award! AGB Nielsen Media Research revealed Korea’s highest television ratings of the year. KBS “Bread, Love and Dreams” was the highest-rated television program, falling under the 2010 World Cup.

“The Boys of Sungkyunkwan Scandal: Friends after the drama”

The actors of Sungkyunkwan Scandal support each other in other projects after the KBS drama ended in November 2010.

As many of you may know, Micky, who played Seon-joon in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” is one of the singers in the popular Korean group JYJ (also known as JYJ’s Yuchun). The three boys: Micky (who played Seon-joon), Joon-ki Song (who played Yong-ha), and Ah-in Yoo (who played Jae-sin) were spotted back stage of a JYJ concert.

Throughout the performance Joon-ki Song and Ah-in Yoo were sitting in the audience to support fellow Sungkyunkwan Scandal actor.

“Moon Geun Young holds two nominations for 'Best Couple' in the 2010 KBS Drama Awards”

Moon Geun Young, also known as Mary in “Marry Me Mary” and Eun-jo in “Cinderella Stepsister,” is nominated twice for “Best Couple” in the 2010 KBS Drama Awards.

The two men paired with Moon Geun Young are Jang Geun Suk from “Marry Me Mary” and Jung Young-Chun from “Cinderella Stepsister.”
