Ok. It's getting harder and harder to invent sufficiently silly names for these things. It's also getting impossible to describe the music. So, this is a dancey, bouncy, wibbly track with wobbly electronic sounds scattered throughout, a bassline, some drums, and various little other things too. Actually, that was comparatively easy.

Proximate Swarm

A slight change of pace this time, Proximate Swarm is a four-and-a-half minute drone track featuring two sounds; one ringing bell-like sound and a gently buzzing noise. The texture of the sounds vary slowly over the full cycle of the track but there are no nasty surprises.

Unremitting Thunk

Unremitting Thunk has a heavy rhythm overlaid by tubular bells, space sounds and phased percussion. A distorted marimba forms what passes for melody.

The first new track I've written in a long while. A gentle ambient passage segues into a pounding rhythm section with deep sweeping sounds and harmonic snippets flowing in and out.

The last track on the album and probably the last track I'll be revamping for a while (I'm switching to creating some new material). Anyway, Off is a short electronic track, mostly rhythm and bass lead with a smart panning lead synth part.

A new recording of Chemical, one of the more listenable tracks from my earlier work. A fairly conventional electronic track with some nice sounds. I spent a lot of time trying to mix and balance this track, I think it sounds a lot better than it ever has, but I wish it were louder.

Composition III

One of the few completed tracks from an abandoned project in 1999. This is an ambient track which alternates between two chord progressions while a resonant filter moves through the landscape.

The album was originally entitled "Distukker Wing". The first word is an invented one that occurs nowhere in Google's index at this time. Perhaps this post will eventually change that. The track itself is named after a painting by Piet Mondrian. I'm not going to pretend that there's any more to the relationship than that, but you can if you want to.

I'll be re-recording all of these tracks over the coming weeks and hopefully improving them (they won't change substantially, they should just sound nicer).

I'm going to be mostly posting re-recorded versions of some tracks I wrote several years ago. I have a large backlog of tracks which I hope to salvage with more modern instrumentation.

Hopefully this is my artistic revival and I'll finally start producing more (and better) material. The chances are good that I give up and sulk instead, but here's hoping.
