To use Mailchimp’s free service, all you need to is take a screenshot using your device and send it to smartphones@mailchimp.com and wait. In a few moments, you would get a reply with you screenshot with your smartphone or tablet’s frame. 

I personally use the service a lot as it fits my workflow perfectly. I take screenshots on my devices and email them to Mailchimp. When I get the response, I download the updated attachments to my computer directly, hence transferring from mobile to computer in this manner. 

Mailchimp automatically detects which device you use based on the image’s properties. If you like, you can also chose which device frame you want around your screenshot. Just make sure that you use the proper device name in the subject, to get the desired frame and color.

Use any of the following keyword as your subject line to get the frame:

As evident from the list, all popular iOS devices as well as a few popular Android devices are supported. Unfortunately, Windows Phone and Blackberry users have not been considered here. 

The new YouTube app has a beautiful modern UI and actually looks pleasant to use.

The following features are now available in the app:

• You can pin videos, playlists, channels and search results as live tiles on the start screen. Tiles are active so they flip to show latest videos from your subscriptions or popular ones too.
• A cool playlists design which shows rest of the video thumbnails in an overlaid list. I would love to have something like this on iOS or YouTube. Seems like a feature which would take advantage of the wide smartphone displays (in landscape mode) we have now.
• Videos also playback in the background so you can just play your favorite song and listen to it with the screen turned off. 
• The usual social media sharing features are also available.
• If you pin YouTube in Kid’s Corner and limit content, the app will respect the restriction so when your kids use it, unsafe videos wouldn’t show. 

There are many utilities available like MacUtil that let you modify the core look and feel and functionality of OS X but I like the simplicity that MacUtil brings. It has a very simple user interface and provides detailed prompts for each and every tweak you apply to the OS. You would never be caught at a point where you might be left wondering what was the tweak you implemented and where you can test it. 

There are 4 categories of tweaks and modifications that MacUtil supports:

• Dock
• Finder
• User Interface
• Misc

Under the dock section, there are some cool tweaks such as toggling your dock from 3D to 2D ( this is for the retro-loving fans! ) as well as a cool stack list view which shows bigger icons. I specially like how it lets me add feedback when mousing over an item in a stack. The items get blue background on hover. Pretty neat!

In the finder section, certain tweaks are available in the default finder options and in other places if you know where to look. But this app gives you one place to apply changes such as show all files on your Mac ( including hidden files ), enable the status bar (alternatively, you can do this by going to the file menu for Finder and then View> Show status bar) and certain useful tweaks such as toggling searching current folder by default which is a must have. 

User interface lets you change animation speeds for certain parts of the OS. You can also enable apps to save to disk instead of to iCloud by default. There is also an option to change the minimize window effect which includes one called ‘suck’. It is actually really cool. I actually like it more than the genie animation!

The Misc category lets you apply tweaks such as changing the format of screenshots saved in OS X. You can chose between jpg to bmp and png amongst others. I would recommend choosing jpg if you take screenshot to share online. Amongst other tweaks, make sure you enable the now to show information in login window when you click the clock.  

The app is a blessing for customizer and modders. It is available to download for free from the developer’s website.The developer is also very responsive to feature requests as per his website so make sure you get in touch with him if needed.

Luckily, the jailbreak community steps in to resolve this issue. We have already seen  tweaks like Nownow, which allows you to launch Google Voice search, like Siri is used, from anywhere in iOS, and GoogleNowEnabler, which lets you enable Google Now even if it is not available in your country or region yet. StartToNow is the solution to our second problem mentioned in beginning. 

StartToNow simply takes you to the Google Now cards user interface when you launch the app. Unless, you were searching for something, then it would take you to the search, even if you restart the app. Make sure that you remember this when using the tweak and it will work perfectly as advertised.

There is no icon on the home screen for this tweak. StartToNow can be enabled/disabled from the Settings app. It works on iPhone and iPad as long as you have the latest Google Search app installed.

You would need to have a jailbroken iPad or iPhone to have Cydia installed and be able to install this tweak. It is available for free in the BigBoss Repo.

Why does this happen? This is because Google has to ensure that it doesn’t charge advertisers, the people whose ads are served through AdSense, for invalid clicks or any similar activity. Such impressions or clicks are deduced before the final earnings are shown at the end of each month. Currently, Google shows the clicks and impressions in the reports although publishers can’t tell which ones are invalid numbers. 

Google is changing this and going forward would not report any invalid activity impressions and clicks in reports. This would mean that you wouldn’t have to wait until the end of the month to see the final earnings (after deduction). As per Google, this might also mean that users would notice a slight increase in CPC (cost per click) and RPM (revenue per thousand impressions) while a slight decrease in clicks and impressions would be noticeable. This will not effect earnings in anyway but simply streamline the reporting which would be more accurate and would reflect your website’s actual revenue.

This change will be effective immediately but reports before May would not be effected. Keep an eye on your CPC and RPM in AdSense to see the change. 

Rovio seems to have been inspired by the fermium model that every company is following nowadays such as EA so don’t be surprised if you download and find tons of options for in app purchases. Other than that, the game is highly enjoyable to play unless you have gotten bored of the same type of gameplay in every new Angry Birds release.

The new game features tournaments, Facebook friend challenges, social sharing on Facebook for bragging rights as well as to invite friends, lots of power ups, rewards, free coins and more. One awesome feature is that if you play Angry Birds Friends on Facebook, your progress will automatically sync with the mobile game. It’s about time that we start getting cross platform syncing in all games!

The game is available for free so accordingly there are some drawbacks too. As mentioned above, there are in app purchases so you can get ahead of your friends by spending money and buying coin bundles. If that isn’t enough to annoy you, there are third party advertisements in the game, conveniently hidden from the screenshots in Google Play and App Store which can get annoying. 

If you can ignore these things, the game is fun to play against your friends. Based on the multiplying capabilities, don’t expect anything like Real Racing 3, which also takes advantage of the freemium model but luckily, it doesn’t contain any third party ads.

I might be a bit critical on the game but the freemium model on top of ads is starting to get annoying in games now. The game is still tons of fun to play so give it a try! It is available as a Facebook game as well as for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Songza 3.0 has been updated with the following features:

• The Conceirge screen lets you shake the device and tell the app what you are doing to help it find the right music for you. You can chose options such as singing in the shower as well although it is not recommended to use your iPhone or iPad there.
• Playlists have been improved so if you chose so, you can search for an artist and enjoy the right music you want.
• Performance has been improved so there is less buffering and more instant music.
• The HQ audio feature improves music quality without impacting data usage by much. Although it works with certain headphones – 200 models to be exact. If you are an avid Songza user, this might be something to consider when buying your next pair of headphones.
• Navigation and user interface have been improved and take advantage of the larger screen of iPhone 5. 

There are many more features in the update so you might want to check out the app to go through all of them.

Sadly, Songza is restricted to users in United States and Canada so if you don’t live there, you are out of luck. You might want to look at other option such as Spotify or Deezer depending on where you live. But if you are a music aficionado living in one of the places where Songza works, it is a much have app for all iOS users.

Users can now take photos and tag their friends in them. It is not a groundbreaking new feature as users have been doing this since ages on Facebook. Of course, with such an update come privacy concerns but luckily, Instagram has that covered right out of the gates. 

Photos of You! is simple to use. Just take a photo and use the Add People option to access the tagging screen. Tap anywhere on the screen and it will pop up the question ‘Who’s this?’ You can tag any person you are following, no matter they follow you back or not. 

To see the photos in which you are tagged, go to your profile tab and tap on the new section called ‘Photos of You’. If you don’t like any photo, it’s easy to hide it from your profile. You can even check out photos other users are tagged in by going to their profiles and accessing the same Photos of You section.

Other updates in version 3.5 include a new feedback option for bugs and errors which sits in the settings section. Privacy settings have been made accessible through the edit profile section too now.

The latest YouTube Capture update, version 1.3, has brought a number of updates and fixes. Check out the change log below:

• The app now shows HD previews for the videos that you apply enhancements to. These enhancements can include trimming, color correction, stabilization as well as YouTube soundtracks.
