Luke Byran’s mother suffered the loss of her two children in a short period. However, she has always had the support of her son. Bryan took in his sister’s three children after she passed, and he and his wife continued to do their best to keep his mother happy.

Country sensation Luke Bryan started his singing career in his hometown of Georgia, Leesburg. While he was at Georgia Southern University, he began singing in a band and quickly gained local popularity.

In his early 20s, Bryan planned to move to Nashville for better opportunities; however, everything changed when his family faced an unexpected tragedy.

Just five days before Bryan’s planned departure, his older brother Chris died in a car accident in November 1996. So the country singer decided to postpone his move and stay home to support his parents.

As one can imagine, his mother, LeClaire, was distraught by the loss of her son, so Bryan was mainly there to comfort her through this loss. It was a no-brainer for the singer because his mother sacrificed a lot for him.

When Bryan was young, he used to have asthma, and he recalled how he used to sleep in his mother’s bed, and she would stay up all night to listen to his breathing.

LeClaire also confessed that she could not bear the thought of Bryan leaving, so the country singer put his musical aspirations on hold and worked for his father, Tommy, at his fertilizer company.

The singer did not enjoy his time at the fertilizer company, but despite being unhappy, he was more than willing to continue supporting his parents.

As a parent, Tommy could not bear seeing his son unhappy, and knowing Bryan’s determination to be there for him and his wife, he found a way to force Bryan to follow his dreams.

The father of three vowed to fire Bryan from his company if he did not leave for Nashville. He made it clear that it was vital for him to enjoy his youth and pursue a career he loves.

So in September 2001, Bryan arrived in Nashville, and within two months, the singer had signed a publishing deal. He said he worked from Monday to Thursday and wrote about two to three songs daily.

Though the job did not pay much, Bryan still found a way to perform with his band. He would rent a van and travel nine hours to perform at different college parties.

In 2004, Bryan’s local popularity earned him his big break, and he signed with Capitol Records. The singer released his first single in January 2007, and it reached No. 5 on the Hot country songs.

Three months later, Bryan made his debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry, where many young artists are introduced to the world.

Bryan received immense support from his community; his sister Kelly, who worked as a middle school teacher, brought 120 people from Georgia to celebrate her brother. Things were looking for the upcoming country singer, but his family suffered yet another major loss.

The Bryan Family Faces More Significant Losses
Just four weeks after Bryan’s major performance in Nashville, his sister Kelly unexpectedly died while she was at home with her three-year-old son from unknown causes.

Before the family could find their feet gain, a third tragedy followed. Kelly’s husband, Ben, also passed unexpectedly from a heart attack, which left their three children, Til, Kris, and Jordan, orphaned.

Understandably, Bryan was heavily affected by the loss of his brother-in-law, Ben had been in his life since he was eight years old, so it felt like losing yet another sibling.

The “Play it Again” singer admitted that speaking about his family’s tragedies gives him anxiety, but Bryan knew he had to stay strong for his children and nephews.

Without asking any questions, Bryan and his wife Caroline took in their nephew and nieces as their own. With the addition of their two sons, Bryan and Caroline, because a family of seven.

The 46-year-old had an interview with People and opened up about his life after adopting three of his sister’s children. The country singer has built a special bond with his two nieces.

He said he appreciated how he got to keep the memory of his sister alive through Kris and Jordan. Bryan said as the girls grow, he sees many similarities that remind him of Kelly. His nephew Til also reminds him of his close relationship with his brother Chris.

The hitmaker also revealed that Til became a big brother to his two sons, which brought memories of his relationship with his brother. He has enjoyed watching Bo become the “nagging little brother” he was to Chris.

The family has shared many special moments and spent many nights helping Til, Kris, and Jordan through their grieving process.

Her retirement from the spotlight was not easily taken. A source close to the star revealed in 2018 that Diaz gets a lot of scripts trying to tempt her out of retirement, but she is simply not interested. Earlier that year, it was reported that she said she was more interested in starting a family than living as an actress. A source said:

The German native made the ultimate sacrifice to save his wife’s life.

How Did Turner’s Husband Save Her Life?
When Turner met her future spouse, it was “love at first sight” for her. The pair crossed paths when he had to pick her up from the airport in Germany before a concert. Upon meeting, she instantly felt a deep connection between them.

Turner said she was taken aback by Bach’s good looks and that her heart skipped a beat after laying eyes on him for the first time. She noted it all meant that she had found genuine love, adding:

“My heart went bu-bum. It means that a soul has met. My hands were shaking.”

The Tennessee native said many things happening at the time could have easily made her ignore Bach, but she followed her instinct and made it a mission to learn more about Bach.

However, the music executive, who is 17 years younger, did not feel the same way in the beginning. “I was working,” Bach later admitted, but he and Turner got along well during the ride.

His feelings soon changed, and he fell as hard as she was for him. Yet, the couple only wed in 2013 after 27 years together.

Turner retired from the music business on May 5, 2009, and closed the curtain on her global success career with a world tour. The megastar was almost 70 years old when she performed on stage in Sheffield, England, for the last time.

Following her retirement, she experienced life-threatening health issues. Turner was diagnosed with intestinal cancer and suffered a stroke but overcame them. In December 2016, the “Proud Mary” singer discovered that she had kidney cancer.

Turner discussed the daunting experience in her book, “My Love Story,” writing that she was left with only two options: to either go for “regular dialysis” or have a “kidney transplant.”

She stood a better chance at survival with an organ transplant, but the opportunities to receive one were limited. Turner’s medical condition was so dire that she even considered assisted suicide because there was no way she could live without a kidney transplant.

Fortunately, her long-time love came to the rescue. Bach offered to give his darling wife his kidney, and the thought of it left her in instant shock:

“He said he didn’t want another woman or another life. Then he shocked me. He said he wanted to give me one of his kidneys.”

Still, in disbelief, Turner expressed the overwhelming feeling she had because of the great lengths Bach had gone to ensure that she was to live for as long as possible. Thankfully, the transplant surgery was a success, and she said she was:

“Happy, overwhelmed, and relieved that we’d come through this alive.”

Where Does the Couple Live Now?
The “Queen of Rock ‘n Roll” is now enjoying her retirement with her husband in Zurich, Switzerland. The lovebirds have lived in Europe for decades now.

Turner once revealed she relocated to Europe because of Bach, who was running a company there. They were still dating at the time. The couple resides in a mansion called Chateau Algonquin.

They moved to the countryside in 1995, which happens to be the actress’s favorite place. Turner loves the country because of its strict rules. Moreover, although she does not speak German – in a country where it is one of the national languages – she at least has her spouse to translate if need be.

Fans recognize Mariska Hargitay as the commanding officer of the Manhattan Special Victims Unit. She plays Olivia Benson in the police procedural and legal drama television series “Law & Order.” However, not many know that her parents were also actors.

Mariska Hargitay was born in 1964 to father Mickey Hargitay and mother Jayne Mansfield. Both her parents were actors, and, unsurprisingly, Hargitay grew to become one of Hollywood’s best actresses.Her father, Mickey Hargitay, was born in Budapest, and to escape being sent to the Nazi war, Mickey moved to the US, settling in Indianapolis.

His first jobs were working as a builder and a performer in nightclubs.

MEET MICKEY HARGITAY

During one of such acts, he met his first wife, Mary Birge. One day, he walked into a gym, and to the astonishment of the gym owner, he lifted a 215lb bar over his head.

He then began a career in bodybuilding that led him to win the Mr. Indianapolis and Mr. Eatern America titles. He worked his way up to win the Mr. Universe contest in 1955. Propelled by his good looks and body, Mickey soon started gracing fitness magazine covers.

He put a lot of effort into popularizing bodybuilding, previously considered freakish. After divorcing his wife, Mickey married the blonde sex symbol, Jayne Mansfield, and built an acting career.

The couple appeared together in several films, including “Primitive Love,” “Promises! Promises!” and “The Loves of Hercules.” However, their marriage ended in 1964.

Mickey continued acting, appearing in more films, including “Bloody Pit of Horror” and “Slaughter on Tenth Avenue.” Even though he changed his career to become a real estate investor and a constructor, his works inspired many.

Arnold Schwarzenegger considers him a role model as he paved the way for many bodybuilders after him. Schwarzenegger played him in the 1980 movie, “The Jayne Mansfield Story.” Mickey passed on in 2006.

On the other hand, Jayne Mansfield started her film career with a supporting role in “Female Jungle” in 1955. She landed her first starring role in “The Girl Can’t Help It” a year later.

The actress worked her way up and had a wholesome Hollywood career, appearing in films such as “Too Hot To Handle,” “Illegal,” and “The Burglar.”

She had two children with Mickey, including Hargitay, but three years after their divorce, she met her untimely death through a car accident. Little Hargitay, only three at the time, was in the car that killed her mom.

Experiencing such trauma at such an early age changed Hargitay’s life. The actress says that dealing with the loss has helped her appreciate life more.

Even though the trauma left her in a “frozen” place, Hargitay says she’s learned life’s most valuable lessons that way and to channel her pain in positive ways.

Following “Pop Idol’s” success, the show was imported to America, where Simon became one of the judges for the newly branded ‘American Idol.” His often biting remarks made the show the highest-rated American television program at the time.

After he worked his way up from a mailroom clerk to where he is now, Simon faced his father’s death, which left him distraught. Following this, he became closer to his mother, Julie Cowell, who supported him through the loss.

Simon Lost His Parents
In 1999, Simon experienced an abrupt tragedy. His father, Eric Phillip Cowell, unexpectedly passed away. No one suspected he might be near his end, and when it happened. Simon was already close to his mother, but after the death of his father, the two grew even closer.

When his mom passed, Simon was broken and didn’t know if he could continue the new season of “X Factor” that had to start.
Julie was someone her son looked up to throughout her life, and they would often be seen spending time together after Eric passed. Simon also enjoyed taking Julie on luxurious holidays regularly to spend more time with her.

Unfortunately, in 2015, Simon also had to say goodbye to his mother. Unlike with his father, Simon knew beforehand that his mother’s health was degrading. She passed away at the age of 89 after suffering a stroke a few months earlier. Simon received the news that she had little time left, but didn’t believe it:

“I wouldn’t listen. I kept saying right to the end that there was hope. And I wasn’t prepared for it. You know, it all happened in my 50s. I have a son and then I lost my mother. It changes you. I’m still going through it.”

After her stroke, Simon looked after her, making sure to spend as much time together as possible. He spent the next nine months in what he referred to as “nine months of hell” while he had to witness her slowly pass on.

Eventually, she breathed her last, and the family buried her at St. Margeret’s Church in Rottingdean with her late husband. Julie left a considerable amount to her family in her will, splitting it between her children, grandchildren, including Simon’s son, and even two friends.

Simon Found Hope in Speaking with His Parents
When his mom passed, Simon was broken and didn’t know if he could continue the new season of “X Factor” that had to start. After careful consideration, though, he decided to go on. He spent a few days after his mother’s death considering what he should do.

Although he was in a lot of pain, he knew Julie would want him to continue doing the show, since she was a big fan, and she knew it made him happy. The thought of his mom gave him the necessary strength to jump back in. He commented on losing his mom:

“I know I’ll miss her every day, but I also know I’m incredibly grateful to have had her.”

Eventually, he shared that being back on the show helped him through the tough time. Not only did it take his mind off everything, but the “X Factor” team also supported him while he was grieving. He valued their support and said, “I’m not going to lie, there were times it was incredibly difficult.”

They also write children’s books together, and the TV star has commented that writing books with his son “has been magical.”
When the show’s new season started, the newbie J Sol sang a song he wrote after his mother passed, which Simon could genuinely relate to. The judge addressed the singer and said he still spoke with his parents about every significant decision that came across his path.

Simon praised the singer for his performance and noted that not only was his choice of song beautiful, but his voice was also exceptional. Simon said he was glad J Sol came on the show and the judges would all remember him.

Simon Is Also a Dad
Simon has children of his own, and is partnered with Lauren Silverman. His only son by blood, Eric Cowell, was born in 2014. The TV personality is also stepfather to Lauren’s son, Adam Silverman.

Lauren shares her son with her ex-husband, Andrew Silverman. Since 2013, when things she started dating Simon, the “Britain’s Got Talent” judge became close with young Adam. Simon recently proposed to Lauren, and a source said:

“Lauren was absolutely stunned and never in a million years expected Simon to pop the question. She burst into tears – happy tears – and obviously said ‘yes’ straight away.”

Once the women moved into the new Maryland house with their children, they decided to offer the basement for rent, and that’s how another single mom, Leandra, joined them.
And then, Herrin and Holly’s friend, Jen, moved in with them. And their house was complete.

“There is almost a spiritual safety net every day here,” Hopper told TODAY. “I could be my worst self, I could be my best self, and they see me for who I am, and it’s OK.”

The women have lots of things to take care of, but they never feel overwhelmed because there are people around them willing to listen and help.

At the same time, each of them also has the freedom to go out without the kids, because there is always someone in the building to take care of them. And this is amazing and really relieving.

For the kids, also, the arrangement they have made is beneficial because they have other kids to play with.

Indeed, the children almost feel like they’re cousins by now. And this is so beautiful on so many levels.

As for how they organize their life together? Well, they meet up on a regular basis and discuss issues like roof repair and yard work expenses, usually over a glass of champagne.

They have even given a name to their house. It’s the “Siren House.”

“Siren is a form of sort of feminist power, right?” Hopper said. “We’re building a community, we sort of have the siren song so we bring people together.”

Indeed, they have brought people together, and they’re planning on bringing even more by expanding the concept of their co-housing arrangement to other moms out there.

“In the beginning, I was helping out some friends. They had lost their child to the system,” Thomas told Good Morning America. “I went on and got certified and became a foster parent. I haven’t stopped since.”

Since then, Thomas changed the lives of 30 kids.
“I don’t believe that I would be the person that I am today without the morals that he instilled in me and the extended family that I have now,” Michael Perez, one of his kids, said to CBS News.

Thomas took Perez under his care back in 2001. Now, he works as a nurse.

Shortly after that, Thomas retired from being a parenting legend.
He watched his children move out of his house and live the lives they deserve. Some became professionals, and some started families of their own.

Thomas, in the meantime, spent his days fishing and going on vacations. But as his heart yearned for what Thomas was made for, this lull didn’t last long.

Thomas came out of retirement when he learned about five siblings in the system.
Zendaya, Jamel, Nakia, Major, and Michaela were all under the age of six. As it was difficult to place all of them under the same roof, the system moved to break up the siblings.

“The kids ended up being taken into care — I believe it was due to neglect,” Lamont said to Good Morning America. “They had them in four different homes, four different cities. They were separated for over a year-and-a-half.”

For Thomas, that definitely wouldn’t do.
Acknowledging the importance of the siblings growing up together, Lamont adopted all five of them.

“They bring new energy to me. They’re lovable kids, very affectionate,” Lamont told the news outlet.

“They deserve to be raised as siblings, and that was my fight.”

In 2019, Thomas marched into Judge Lisa Rodwin’s courtroom to make the formalities official. All five of them moved into Thomas’s house to start their lives as children.

Some of his foster kids said that being a foster parent is Thomas’ “God-given call”.

It was 1963, and Ina was visiting her brother at Dartmouth College when she first laid eyes on Jeffrey who was also a student in the same school.

Ina shared that he saw her on the street and then wrote her a letter wherein he included a picture of himself in the envelope.

A year after their marriage, Jeffrey had to travel to Thailand where he was deployed in the army.
The couple had no other choice then but to rely on writing letters to each other.

Their marriage was still young and yet, they had to be apart but it was something that they overcame. Jeffrey claims that he wrote to his wife every day.

She was all he could think about.

The couple can only call each other once a year and it was too short a time to say all of the things they wanted each other to know.

It was through letters that they found a way to communicate and it was a very important part of their love story.

When Jeffrey came back, the two of them always were looking for ways to enjoy the company of each other.

They went on dates and even made Paris a home away from their home.
The city was their romantic getaway every year, on their anniversary.

Jeffrey used to go to Connecticut every day to teach at Yale where he is a professor in the School of Management. Ina, on the other hand, worked from their East Hampton, New York home.

They only got together on weekends.

For the next 40 years, the couple went on the same routine and Jeffrey would always send sweet love letters that made Ina’s day each and every time.

When the pandemic struck, the couple had the opportunity to live together in their home.
They enjoyed each day together, but even with them being together, Jeffrey still made love letters for his beloved wife.

It was something that fueled their love even more and made their story “couple goals.”

What a sweet love story, right? And that’s after 53 years of marriage!

A lonely man who spent every holiday alone shared his Thanksgiving turkey with a barefoot boy he met on the street. The following year, they spent Thanksgiving and all the other holidays together as a family.Michael listened to all of his colleagues talk about their Thanksgiving plans the day before the holiday.

Some of them were headed to their hometowns. Some were to spend the holidays by the lake, while some were to celebrate in luxurious hotels with their spouses.Meanwhile, Michael was never the type to celebrate the holidays extravagantly, and that was because he didn’t have a family of his own, nor did he have a girlfriend to spend time with.

If he believed something was worth celebrating, he’d treat himself to a good dinner at a fancy restaurant or to a solo trip to Vegas where he could let loose and destress.

That particular Thanksgiving, he was supposed to celebrate with his other single friend, until at the last moment, he revealed that he had met a girl, and they decided to spend the holidays together.

When Michael was young, his mother would also leave him with relatives to work. Eventually, she never came back, and when his aunt and uncle died, he no longer had a family to spend the holidays with.
Come Thanksgiving day, Michael looked at everything he had bought to cook dinner and realized that it was too much for him to eat alone. Then, an idea came to mind to prepare a festive dinner and share it with a nearby homeless shelter that he would always pass when going home from work.

Michael kept himself busy the entire afternoon by cooking some of his favorite Thanksgiving meals. He roasted a turkey, made an apple pie, a beef and mushroom casserole, and more. “I should have thought of this years ago!” he told himself as he packed all the food into foil containers to take to the shelter.

When he was ready, he walked to the shelter, where he invited everyone around the table to have a hot meal. “Wow!” one of the boys from the shelter exclaimed. “I’ve never tasted these types of food before!” he said.

“Don’t worry, I’ll keep bringing you meals during holidays,” Michael assured them. “Go ahead and eat,” he told those who gathered. While he was about to help himself to some food, Michael noticed a lonely barefoot boy sitting in the far corner of the room.

Michael decided to put some turkey on a plate alongside other viands and walked up to the boy to cheer him up. “Have a meal, young man,” he said, handing the plate.

The boy looked up at him with tears in his eyes. He reluctantly took the plate and said thank you. “My mom used to cook this food for me, but now she’s too busy to do so,” he revealed.

“Where is your mom?” Michael asked him.

“She works the entire day, trying to save money so we can buy a decent home. She picks me up late at night and returns me here in the morning,” the boy quietly said. As soon as he said that, Michael recognized himself in the child.

When Michael was young, his mother would also leave him with relatives to work. Eventually, she never came back, and when his aunt and uncle died, he no longer had a family to spend the holidays with.

Michael didn’t want the same thing to happen to the child, so he promised to help him. He waited for the boy’s mom to return to the shelter, and he offered her a high-paying job that caused her to work fewer hours.

“Would you really do that for me?” the woman asked him once she was offered the job of being Michael’s assistant.

“Why, yes. I need a hardworking secretary,” Michael replied. “Your son Damon told me that you work all day. That alone is proof of how hardworking you are.”

Michael’s mom Lindy couldn’t help but cry. She thanked Michael profusely and began working for him after the Thanksgiving holiday.

A year later, Michael is sitting at his table at home with Damon and Lindy. He no longer had to spend the holidays alone, nor did he ever have to eat a meal alone ever again, as he and Lindy fell in love and got married.

“Prayer before meals?” Lindy smiled at him before they ate their Thanksgiving feast.

He nodded and held hands with both Lindy and Damon. “Dear God, I thank you for giving us a home, delicious meals to eat today and every day, and for giving me a family. Thank you for giving me the drive to cook a meal for the homeless shelter last year, which led me to find my own family. I thank you that I am no longer lonely,” he prayed.

After his prayer, Lindy and Damon hugged him. They expressed how much they loved one another and how thankful they were to have found a family in each other.

That night, for the first time in a long time, Michael did not have to go to sleep alone during Thanksgiving. He stayed up all night watching movies with his new family before they all fell asleep in their living room, dressed in matching pajamas and all cuddled up with one another.

What can we learn from this story?

It’s never too late for new beginnings. Michael was spending every special holiday alone, thinking that he’d never find a family or a special person to spend them with. In the end, he was able to find a family of his own when he met Damon and Lindy.
What you put out into the world will eventually find its way back to you. Michael thought about giving food to the homeless shelter so that it wouldn’t be put to waste. His kindness eventually made its way back to him when he was given a beautiful family that loved him and cherished him every day.
