This series, design to give road racing opportinuties for owners of adapted MX machines is fun, competitive, relatively cheap and increasing in popularity.

After a gap of four years the weekend 2nd & 3rd June sees the return of NG Road Racing to the popular home of the WSB series Donington Park, for Rounds 6 & 7 of the Dunlop and Willis Developments supported ACU 250GP National Series and Club Championships.

There will be a full race programme of around 20 races on each day.

The event will also include a Test Day for racing machines of THURSDAY 31st May.

A pair of wins by Daniel Jackson, Team Sigie Yamaha TZ 250, in Rounds 4 & 5 of the Willis Developments and Dunlop supported ACU 250GP National Championship at BARC Pembrey on 19th & 20th May was enough to put him at the head of the Championship with 77 points giving him a 21 point lead over second place challenger Lee Goddard. Jackson lead the 20 mile round 5 from the off, winning convincingly with a 9 second advantage. Cheltenham based John Lewis Yamaha TZ 250 and Adam Hoare from Losloe Derbyshire Honda 250 filled the minor podium places.

The NG Cup competition was won by Gary Vines on his MPS Heavy Haulage Ltd sponsored Honda RS 250R who now has a 22 point lead in the NG Cup Championship

Ammanford based Darrel Jones, Suzuki GSXR 600 won Rounds 4 & 5 of the Pro-Bolt 600 NG Road Racing Championship run at BARC Pembrey over the weekend 19-20 May.
Tom Russell Yamaha R6, finished in second place in Round 4 but despite a fastest lap in Round 5 failed to gain a podium place. Stephen Bridle Suzuki GSXR 600 rode to a consistent third place in both rounds. Darrel Jones now leads the championship by a 9 point margin from the absent Leon Jeacock. Dean Richards is third on 33 points closely followed by Stephen Bridle.

Two second places for Peter Baker Morelleo Services Ltd Suzuki GSXR 1000 in Rounds 4 & 5 of the Simon Consulting Powerbikes in the NG Road Racing promotion at BARC Pembrey was sufficient to maintain a 6 point lead in the series so far. Phil Bevan Phil Bevan Track Days Yamaha R1 is second with two wins over the weekend. If Phil Bevan can maintain this form the championship lead is well in sight. Michael Blank Foxcote Fire Systems Ltd Kawasaki 1000 is third.

Despite two wins by Chris Richardson Lancer Scott Ducati 1098, in Rounds 4 & 5 of the NG Road Racing Performance Red Sound of Thunder, run at BARC Pembrey on 19th & 20th May, Darren Rumley riding his BCT Aviation Maintenance sponsored KTM RC8R retains a slim 6 point championship lead. Rumley’s campaign was aided by the absence of popular championship leader Max Symonds, who is in recover mode following a femur break, and former runner up Sam Coventry. Chris Richardson’s close wins elevates him to second place with the consistent Dave Manley A1 Grafix.com Triumph 675 is third.

The Sunday 29th April NG Road Racing meeting due to be run a Mallory Park had to be cancelled, after a delayed start of several hours, due to persistent rain, high winds and the severe weather forecast for the rest of the day.

Clerk of the Course, Peter Davies, having consulted with all involved, decided, in the interest of safety, that it was inadvisable to start the meeting.

Peter said: “NG Road Racing much regret having to make this decision, bearing in mind everyone’s personal effort and expense to get here and to be ready for racing. Nevertheless, the safety of everyone is paramount and we cannot control the weather, so I have reluctantly decided that this would have to be just one of a handful of meetings to be cancelled over the last 30 years.”
