Movie Review: Star Trek "Into Darkness"

The movie wasn't really that serious, the audiences almost laughed everytime because of the characters' punge lines.

Aside from the realistic and very convincing graphics, the thing I appreciated about the movie was also the lesson it brought. The "team work," the "right leadership" and most of all the "friendship". The movie shown how the leader is willing to sacrifice his life just to save his subordinates, the thing I was wishing was to be the attitude of every political leader here in the Philippines that I guess was a counterpart.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie much, learned a lesson, a reason for me to score it 8/10 :)

I am one of Yeng's admirer and fan even when she was on the singing reality show "Pinoy Dream Academy". I was a fan of her compositions - Hawak Kamay, Salamat, Pangarap lang etc. that's why I have no doubt that music schools like "Academy of Rock" chosen her to be ambassadress.

Yeng Constantino is model of success, from the year 2006 after winnig the reality show "PDA", she charted almost all of the music charts with her winning hit single "Hawak Kamay" followed by her follow up singles, Panagarap Lang, Habambuhay etc. and now as an ambassadress of a music school, definitely more to come on her way!

that is available on Fujifilm stores by this time. Another great thing from the Puzzle Mansion Tagaytay, is their cream Pie! its really delicious! added by my favorite buko. Honestly this pie is one of the best tasting pie I've ever tasted up to date. it taste very special as if you were like eating a premium cake etc., its sweetness is very balanced, not that sweet but I claim it super very duper delicious :)

I may be one of the lucky ones to meet Miss Gina Lacuna, the Guinness Record holder of having the biggest collection of different puzzles and achieving to create the biggest jigsaw puzzle consisting of 24, 000 pieces. Another amazing thing of her is that as of now she is starting to break her own record of the biggest jigsaw puzzle by creating a 32, 000 pieces puzzle, she is really amazing!

Amazingly saying that she did not atain tertiary level, despite of that matter she proved that success is not measured by whether you finished your studies, whether you are a LaSalle'ian or Atenista. You just need to be passionated on your what you believe that you can be successful, never give up! And most importantly, have faith in God!

Miss Gina Lacuna serves an inspiration for me, and I believe that every visitor of her Puzzle Mansion in Tagaytay will also do.

My Diary: "Castlevania" - my all-time favorite computer game

All of us experienced playing computer games during our childhoods. Do you remember what is your favorite computer game?

I used to play PlayStation when I was young. I remember myself spending 3-5 hours or more playing computer, of course less hours when weekdays because of school. I admit that I was addicted to computer games before. My all-time favorite game is "Castlevania, Symphony of the night". you might be familiar of Dracula's castle right? And ofcourse no need to ask if you are familiar with the "Twilight series" :) CASTLEVANIA is a game about Dracula, vampires and other related creatures. Its an adventure-story game, its about the son of Dracula happens to be a half human / vampire that opposes his father (Dracula) he aims to destroy the castle thats where his adventure goes. Now, if you would ask me why did I love this game very much, because playing this game will not just give you the usual fun in computer games, Castlevania is an old game created in 90's it has new versions today but I would always love the version - "Castlevania - Symphony of the night". This hame might not that have good graphics, but I'm really attached to this game,I was addicted to it, the first time I played this game. I find playing this game informative other than fun, because this game was like an encyclopedia of different things, historical things also. Most of the mythical creatures in this game can be researched in the dictionary, even the characters item like sword, familiar etc. It is not really the usual game , it has facts that you will learn :) and the most thing that I loved this game was its soundtracks! That's why it has a caption "Symphony of the night" the soundtrack is really emotion moving, Im really impressed with the soundtracks, knowing that it was played by Orchestra! They really funded this game, Every place your character was into, different soundtracks plays really good to ears. I find playing this game aside from playing - was like reading a story, studying an encyclopedia, watching a movie and listening a music album and listening an orchestra concert!

Recently, I missed playing this game, even though I forgot how many times I finished this game :) I searched the internet if there's any possibility to play this game on my tablet. I though it wouldn't be successful but I must thank God it workes on my tablet! I downloaded an emulator for android and it worked on my tablet! I t really made me happy! now I can play my all-time favorite computer game on my tablet Anytime, Anywhere! :D

When I was a child, I remember myself playing Puzzles. I find solving puzzles a great answer for boredom and it was really interesting and challenging.

A blogger friend of mine, invited me, including my other blogger friends to have a Day tour at the "Puzzle Mansion". I had no doubt going to this Day tour. For your information "Puzzle Mansion" is owned by "Gina Lacuna" surprising Higschool Graduate Millionaire - the Guinness record holder of the largest collection of "Puzzles" in the world! Yes in the world! She's aside from Manny Pacquiao, Charice, Shamcey, Janine tugonon, etc. that brought recognition to our country. Proudly this Puzzle Mansion which is located in Tagaytay holds the most numerous Puzzle collection in the world, not only by numbers, Miss Gina has also the most biggest Puzzle in the world. - 24, 000, 16, 000 of pieces puzzle she has made, these are not just ordinary puzzles, most of the most historical paitings like "Monalisa" etc.

We are really lucky invited to visit the Puzzle Mansion all cost covered, We are picked up by the tour service (Ford Van) at Buendia, unfortunately I was late so I was picked up on the way (Magallanes) realizing that since I came from Laguna, I had late thoughts that it would be better that I've met them in Sta. Rosa SLEX exit.

We experienced the roller-coaster like Grand Entrance :) Miss Gina Lacuna welcomed us warmly. Gave us a room. She toured us the Mansion and discuss very well her Puzzles collection. All of us were amazed by her discussion for every puzzle she made, she discussed the history of puzzles, especially the Historical Paintings like Monalisa, Picaso Work, and other Paintings from different countries! She showed us the most pieces puzzles and fyi, she is currently preparing her new puzzle for a the new record of the Puzzle composed of 32K Puzzle pieces. wow!

These puzzles are really appreciable for eyes, seeing the puzzles I felt a feeling of childhood, seeing historical puzzles, I reminisced my History subjet days. Miss Gina Lacuna had all my impress creating and collecting these puzzles, I am really proud of her as a filipino that holds a Guinness Record, but not only this reason but I admire her more of her personality, achieving all of these success, imagining her a highschool graduate and now a Millionaire and a Guinness World Record Holder, she is really one of a kind person.

Moreover, talking about the Puzzle Mansion, I must say that Puzzle Mansion is really the ideal place for you and your family. They have rooms for tourists who want to stay overnight, a clean open pool for you to enjoy, souvenir, plant and fruits and foods shop are also available in the mansion. Definitely all you need and all you want is there. The rooms are really nice, they have single rooms and two rooms conencting each other for bigger family visitors. The Mansion is really relaxing, you can feel the fresh air, a very nature friendly place. We were also surprise to see various plants that you will surely love to buy - flowers, furniture, medicinal plants are available. Also near the plant shop, there is a beautiful wishing well :)

Of course, we didn't miss the very delicious foods here! upon arriving lunch, we were served by lumpia, and adobo, it really tasted good, the chefs were really a good chefs, we were also served by the sweet mangoes after luch, yummy!. After 2 hours of eating lunch, there comes the merienda. We enjoyed a Bihon and special turon with langka these foods were really unforgettably tasting! after a while, we took coffee :) After two hours we had the dinner - served with Tagaytay's special Tawilis and Tinola! the Puzzle Mansion Blogger Tour was really unforgettable for me! it was really a completing and fulfilling day! I can't wait for my comeback at Puzzle Mansion :)

I will also never forget tasting one of the most delicious desert I've tasted, their Cream cake! this cream cake was really a must-taste desert, the sweetness is just enough, you can feel the soft delicious cream, I bet you would really enjoy tasting this cream cake :)

Pinakilig nila tayo sa "A very Special love" , "You changed my life" at ngayon siguradong patuloy tayong pakikiligin ng tambalang John Lloyd Cruz at Sarah Geronimo bilang sina "Laida Magtalas at Miggy Montenegro" Sa third installment ng kanilang tambalan sa pelikula ang "It takes a Man and a Woman".

Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz is one of the most anticipated loveteams in this generation. Definitely this is proven, as they will be installing their third movie team up this year.

Attending the presscon of the movie, I witnessed them as a person not as a celebrity. John Lloyd and Sarah both shown real emotions,got teary eyed, John Lloyd Cruz almost cried as the topic goes personal. Iba ang dating kapag nakita mo ang tunay na emosyon ng isang artista :)

"Be Good not the Best" , This quote spoken by John Lloyd during the presscon, he said that this is one of the realization in life he absorbed from the movie. On the other hand Sarah Geronimo shown that she matured enough after what she has gone through (love, family matters etc.)

Talking about the movie, It tackles the continuation story of Laida and Miggy. Miggy is bonded with another girl, Laida and Miggy works on the same company that makes occured situation for the both. Laida obviously has feelings for Miggy, as she does things noticeable for Miggy. The catch in this film - will Laida and Miggy be together again? If so, how will it happened? Hmmm, Yan ang dapat nating abangan! :)

Again I congratulate Star Cinema for this film will surely be a mass hit, the same hit as the previous block buster movies Sarah and John Lloyd made.

Just like the previous movies I have seen, I have no idea about what the movie is about, maybe because I am busy these days and I often watch movies without reading the sypnosis.

Honestly, I am shoked to see a bed scene from the start of the movie. I thought also that it was like "SAW" to see chain saw and series of bloody crimes. the love triangle affair of the main characters O(Blake Lively), Chon (Taylor Kitch) and Ben (Aaron Johnson) was so intriguing.

I loved how the movie was done, for me it's really one of the most complete movie I have watched, the soundtrack is good, I love the shore sceneries in the start and in the end of the movie, the theme was not bad, I don't know but even this is a crime thriller film, it came out not that dark for me, the darkness of the crime side was balanced by the characters, I felt the love of the three main characters for each other, I really love these characters in the movie, they shown that they are complete with each other, that they are family, that they would die for the sake of one, refreshing to imagine "how can three people love each other equally" when everyone knows this is for only two, honestly I felt the love story, I can't judge them. It's really heartbreaking to see the situation of your love kidnapped and there's nothing you can do but do all possible things that could save your love, this part of the movie really touched me. Family and Love, I guess is the main theme of the movie, even the villains in this movie wants to change their life for the good and for their family, all of the characters are just a victim of life imperfections, sometimes we are forced to do bad things that we don't want to. I don't know, but this is life. In this movie all characters are hero, at the same time they have their own villain side, but what really this movie was telling was how Love is important in this world -LOVE LOVE LOVE :)

The movie was really mixed emotions to watch,I can't explain by words but I really loved this film, I never expected it would be so loving to watch so for the readers of this article, I hope you to watch "Savages", and I hope you agree with my opinion for this movie :)

Mama Movie Review

They say that a mother’s love is forever, in the story too much love of mother to a child was expressed but since everything too much isn’t good, the mother’s love impression for me was like a nightmare I will never dare to experience.

The story was short actually, that it revolves only in the main Characters – (MAMA Victoria, the two daughters and their uncle and her girlfriend that took care of them)

The Story narration was fast, all of the scenes were important that made me hooked as it began, when the movie started, there’s nothing in my mind but only the movie itself, maybe I was just affected because honestly I am not that Brave in terms of these horror thingy.

I can’t and I don’t want to tell more of how the movie goes because I don’t want you to be spoiled, but the movie was a must watch movie, the story was unique but (let me say this) I was a bit disappointed of the ending(watch the movie if you’re curious) there were many thoughts came in my mind, like all of the charcters would be dead, or it would be a peace ending, you should judge it yourself. Mama really was a family-oriented horror film I guess J

I was so lucky to be invited to meet and greet who's behind the promising show "Apoy sa Dagat". Direk FM Reyes,Direk Nick Olanka and the writers.

The Forum was open and not that formal, it was just like a Barkada / Friends Chit-chat, we laughed,I felt that it was not a conference at all, just really a friendly talk.

FM Reyes didn't needed questions to start, he stared discussing "Apoy sa Dagat" willingly, that's why I guess few questions were delivered. Direk FM Reyes told us about the story and the characters, as Direk FM Reyes was discussing, I really can't help but listen to him very carefully, he is a person that you know you will learn many things from. Also as he discussed "ASD" there's no hiding that he really love his craft, his words really came from his heart, how proud he was to do "Apoy sa Dagat"and to be with the most professional individuals in Showbiz.

talking about Angelica Panganiban and Angelica Panganiban, the creative team was so proud of her(all of the cast actually), as in so proud her, some of us frequently asked about Angelica Panganiban's role which happened to be twins, the Directors and writer dare that the twins would be twins like in real life - this is how they describe Angelica Panganiban's performance. Also talking about the main cast Piolo, Diether, Angel Aquino, etc. they claimed that the cast was a powercast, they did indeed expect and hope that in the future, franchisee's and networks from other countries will be interested to import the show as like Lobo, Pangako Sayo, Tayong Dalawa etc.

The show started and it was proved that this is not a usual soap, the story was a real original, unique and something we filipinos can be proud of. Definitely "Apoy sa Dagat" was one of the best soap ever served.

I really hope I can really visit the set of "ASD" as Direk FM Reyes was inviting us on a set visit of the soap, I hope it will be soon :)

Hitchcock movie review

Honestly I'm not sure if I already seen "Psycho" movie, all I'm sure for is my excitement to see "Psycho" really went up.

This Hitchcock movie revealed how hard it is to create a film, from the story plot, especially the process of filming, from the story board, lighting etc.

The movie entertains as Mr. and Mrs Hitchcock quarrels most of the times, they both show sweetness with each other through their quarreling times. They both thought that each of them is on to secret love affair but actually they really love each other.

the movie was a bit short but I must really say that its better short than to show unnecessary scenes, the movie was exact for me, having emphasized the "hardships of creating Psycho movie" but aside from the hardships the best thing the movie showcased was the trophy Hitchcock received by the psycho movie, not the material trophy but the passion, trust and love the acquired by Mr. Hitchcock and Mrs Hitchcock in the end.

About the Author:

Si Marcelo Santos III ay nagtapos sa Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa, Manila sa kursong Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations noong 2011.

Nagsimula siyang magsulat ng mga tula noong siya ay High School pa lamang. Karamihan sa kanyang mga naisulat ay mga nakakatawang tula at mga maiikling kwento.

Ika-20 ng Disyembre, taong 2009 nang simulan niya ang pagsusulat ng Love Story on Video (LSOV), isang makabagong pamamaraan ng pagkukwento kung saan, nakasulat ang mga salita sa isang blankong video na sinasabayan ng background music.

Kumalat at naging kilala ang LSOV sa Facebook at Youtube at naging daan ito para maging kilala si Marcelo sa mundo ng internet. Ngayon, siya ay isa na ring Blogger, Short Film Director/Writer at isang Author.

The Man with Iron Fists

Watching “The Man with the Iron Fists” reminds me of my childhood days,(Playing Playstation action games such as Street fighter, and other martial arts related games). I was amazed by the action stunts performed in the movie, I was just disturbed by the bloodiness and of each actions and war scenes(it was so Brutal).

Zen-Yi’s armor-mail was really amazing! His suit, full of defensive mechanism did a great action-part, as he defeated every enemy with his powerful suit, I just can’t imagine how did he wore a suit that has plenty of knives, didn’t it hurts? (hahah)

Mr. And Miss Gemini did the best duet-action, two versus a dozen or more, definitely the Gemini’s was defeated. But they really did a great fight, they might have won, if not poisoned,I loved that they still died in the Gemini form.

I was quite disturbed to see Russell Crowe in the film, after watching him in “Les Miserables”, after singing, now did action stunts with his unique gun-knife that made him to be “Jack Knife”.

Madame Blossom and her girls made the riot action, they have technique wise to be sex slaves before they do the killings(One of the most weakest point of a man is when he is on bed). But Madame Blossom’s death was really heart breaking, and I never expected but glad to see that she still have a heart to save a poor child.

I thought “The Man with the Iron Fists” was villainous Brass-Body(David Bautista), because I saw “Brass-Body” in the trailer with Brass/Metal/Iron fists, and I haven’t seen RZA in the trailer, which was the real man with Iron fists.

I loved the movie theme, fortress battle, Clan wars, but a bit confused by lion clan, because of their hairstyle, they all looked the same which made me hard to figure out who died and not. (LOL)

RZA and the staffs did a great job for this martial arts movie. I would rate the movie 8/10.

Gangster Squad

Gangster Squad was a Criminal, Action, Drama, Romantic, Comedy film. “Criminal” because I have seen Criminal scenes, Criminal Stuffs, it tackles about Criminals, killings etc. “Action” just like commonly action movies showcase guns, stunts, in the movie I loved the Car action scenes which was also quite humorous ones. “Dramatic” because I felt the Drama between the Gangsters and their loved ones involved, I can feel how hard to be in a family that has a member who does a police, military or simply job causing death, how hard everyday to bid goodbye to your loved ones, with unsure thoughts if they’re still gonna comeback alive, although I know its is really honoring to see them sacrifice their lives for everybody. “Romantic” I can feel the love lust here, as Ryan Gosling’s character was attached with the girl(Emma Stone) of his foe leader(Sean Penn), this love situation may be one of the hardest. Lastly “Comedy” my first impression of the movie was very serious and dark, but later on as I’ve seen it, I’m gladly surprise meet numerous punge-lines and humorous actions, the element of comedy balanced the seriousness and darkness of the movie, because most of the scenes were night time.

I was fascinated how the movie depicted Las Vegas back way 1950’s. Never depicted that way back then Las Vegas, has this kind of Criminal Issues. It was amazing that the movie was inspired by true story of LAPD officers and detectives forming a group called the "Gangster Squad unit" who attempt to keep Los Angeles safe from Mickey Cohen( was a gangster based in Los Angeles and part of the Jewish Mafia, and also had strong ties to the American Mafia from the 1930s through 1960s.) and his gang during the 1940s and '50s.

Chinese Zodiac Movie Review

Chinese Zodiac was claimed the last Major action film of Jackie Chan. As I have witnessed the movie, I agreed that Chinese Zodiac deserves to be the last but the best action movie of Jackie Chan to showcase. The story was quite similar to the “Animated Jackie Chan Series” as the story tackles about Zodiacs that was also tackled in the animated one. Jackie Chan’s Suite that fitted with rollerblades was really amazing! Especially the stunts it was used to.

Chinese Zodiac story was fresh for me, and I am glad the movie became also informative as National Geographic Channel had a part and some Historical facts(although not sure if all information was facts) were delivered and argued by the two main ladies of the film which also delivered some punge lines and caused the audience to laugh by their tandem of comedy.

I also loved the production designed very national geographic way! I felt I was really watching a National Geographic show as they showcased Historical Artifacts, Places, Museum-matters, there was a basis of doing a historical part of the movie, I was saying “Oh really” as they reveal some History of a certain Museum Item, painting of Places etc.

Jackie Chan had a Trademark of creating a “Action-Comedy Film”. In Chinese Zodiac, he sustained that, I felt the “Action” as well as the “Comedy” moreover these two categories, in this movie I was also moved by short but deep dramatical scenes, also some romantic parts as well, So I can say that Chinese Zodiac has all the emotions you require in a film, they really nailed it!

Jackie Chan even more surprised me and made me impressed when I have researched that via Chinese Zodiac he have set two Guinnes Records (for most screen credits and most stunts performed by an actor).

I’m really grateful to Star Cinema for bringing “Chinese Zodiac” here in the Philippines.

Inihahandog ng Star Cinema ang "A Moment in Time"; ang kwento ng pagmamahalan nina Patrick (Coco) at Jillian (Julia) na daraan sa maraming pagsubok. Last Thursday, January 17, 2012, we bloggers graced the opening of Ystilo Salon, Boni, Mandaluyong

We are warmly welcomed by the staffs and most specially the Franchise owner Miss Doanne Ong- De Jesus. We had a coffee and had a short conversation with Miss Doanne while we wait for Miss Vina Morales to arrive. I took photos of the Salon, the Salon will be surely loved by the customers, from the mirrors, chairs, it was perfectly designed and surely suit your salon experience.

After a while, other visitors came, also the Ystilo owner herself Miss Vina Morales together with her daughter cianna, had a short interview with us bloggers and press. Short while, the mass ceremony started, everybody lighted a candle, Miss Vina Morales together with the franchise owners Miss Doanne did the ribbon cutting.

After the Mass Ceremony, Merienda was served. eat eat eat..
