An advertiser is a company who is selling a product or service and collecting payment from the customer. If an advertiser has an affiliate program, they are able to allow affiliates to market (sell) their product or service for a commission of the sale.

Once you’ve begun to generate traffic using niche marketing you’re ready to sign up as an affiliate to promote products offered by an advertiser with an established affiliate program. You have a choice to become directly affiliated with the advertiser or to use an affiliate network such as clickbank. An affiliate network is a middle man between the advertiser and the publisher, as an affiiliate you publish the advertisers content. As an affiliate you get paid per sale or lead conversion.

How to get paid in for Affiliate Marketing earnings?

All you need to provide is your social security number or federal tax ID along with your name, addresss, phone number, website, experience and method of generating traffic. Be honest when registering for an affiliate program, if you’re new but are already generating traffic they will understand if you explain it to them. As an affiliate you can expect to be paid at least 40% commission on a product or lead conversion. If you generate over $1,000 worth of volume, you should be paid every week and if you generate you can expect to be paid net 15 or net 30. Most affiliate payments are sent via check, bank wire or ach deposit.

In order to start affiliate marketing you need to make sure you have traffic, before you worry about what products you’re going to push make sure you have an audience. The key ingredient to converting leads or sales via affiliate marketing is creating an audience that will respond to what you’re trying to sell.

For example, I rank on page 1 of Google for the keyword niche marketing for my domain name http://nichetitans.com/. There are quite a few backlinks pointed to the domain name for that keyword and Google recognizes this properly. The basic niche marketing strategy is to choose a niche that you think you can compete in for organic traffic – essentially search engine referrals. The strategy begins with how to choose your niche market then continues with creating content and building backlinks for your target keywords. These keywords should have relative content and make sure you research your target keywords so you can try to choose ones that will generate more traffic for your site.

Now even blogs that are full of computer generated content such as autoblogs, niche article feeds, and spun content will get traffic eventually. If you generate your content you’ll have more pages indexed and a lot more content but to the search engines it won’t appear to be high quality content or at least it shouldn’t according to them. How much can I make in affiliate marketing?

Here is what you need to know when you’re starting out.

1. Traffic
2. Don’t worry about how you’re going to get paid
3. Understand that traffic is money
4. Start building traffic

Most people make the mistake of trying to figure out how they are going to get paid in affiliate marketing instead of how they are going to generate traffic and conversions. If you can generate traffic, especially targeted traffic you are going to make a fortune in affiliate marketing. Now you’re thinking, but if I don’t know how I’m going to get paid.. why waste my time? You are not wasting your time, you are accumulating the resources needed to succeed.

In affiliate marketing, how much you make depends on how much traffic you can generate.

Think about it like this…

1. You research, then select interstates with lots of vehicle traffic
2. You build a billboard on those interstates
3. Now you can put whatever ads you want on those billboards or let others pay you to place their ads

If you build a billboard on a highway that has no traffic… you’ll spend a lot of time and won’t make any money. If you target a highway with a lot of traffic but it already has a lot of billboards, it’s going to be more difficult to find a spot to put your billboard and it will cost you a lot more money to get your billboard somewhere it will be viewed easily.

This is the same thing on the internet, if you target keywords that have the following:

1. No traffic
- Waste of time, no one will visit
2. Lots of traffic but very competitive
- Will take you more time and money to establish yourself, which makes it more difficult to get traffic

$50 product – 300 visitors – 6 sales = $300
$75 product – 300 visitors – 5 sales = $375

If you think you are tapped out on your current product or service try improving what your offering and sell an upgraded version to the same customer.  A good example would be buying a brand new car, you can start with the base model or you add additional options to the same vehicle for more money. This is the best way to get more customers to spend more money on the same product or service by adding value to it.
